Chapter 24
Roxy looks at her niece, shocked at her outburst.
Ronnie: Hey, sweetie, of course I care. I just have other things, apart from you, to worry about at the minute.
Danielle: No, you don't care about me.
Ronnie: I have an idea, when we get back, how about you and me go clothes shopping? Just the two of us.
Danielle: Roxy and Stacey come too and we have a deal.
Ronnie: OK. But you aren't allowed to lose it with me or Jack anymore, eh?
Danielle: Is Jack there?
Ronnie: Yea, he's beside me. You're on loudspeaker now.
Danielle: Hey, Jack. Be nice to my mum.
Jack: I will. By the way, Rox, this is going to cost you a fortune. (he laughs) Dan, are you OK? I didn't mean to upset you.
Danielle: Yea, I'm fine. I just had stuff on my mind.
Jack: OK, I'll talk to you later then.
Ronnie: Here, before we go, can you two do the club, please?
Danielle: Yea, bye mum. Bye, Jack.
Roxy takes her phone of loudspeaker.
Ronnie: Can you find out what's bothering her, before I get back?
Roxy: Yea, sure. Why did you not tell us Jack and you were going to France?
Ronnie: It honestly slipped my mind. Look, I really have to go now. I'll text you both later. Bye.
Roxy hangs up and puts her phone on the charger.
Roxy: You really lost it with your mum. What's bothering you?
Danielle: It's just going too fast. I just got mum back and suddenly she's pregnant and getting married and it feels like I've only known her for a week, when really it's been 3 months.
Roxy: Apart from the stuff with Ronnie, what's bugging you?
Danielle: That's it.
Roxy: Dan, I know there's something else. Look, I'm not going to make you tell me, but, I will tell you something. I am always here if you want to bitch about Ronnie or just talk, OK?
Danielle: Yea. Thanks. Um, I'm going to go. I'll see you at the club.
Roxy: I tell you what, why don't I just open the club tonight?
Danielle: Are you sure?
Roxy: Yea, I am. You need some time with Stacey and Becks and Daniel.
Danielle: Thanks Rox. Bye, see you later. Bye bye Amy.
Danielle leaves the Vic, passing Sean on the stairs. She smiles at her uncle. Sean goes into the bedroom were Roxy is sitting. He sits beside her and puts his arm around her.
Sean: Hey, babes. Are you OK?
Roxy: Yes. I am fine.
Sean: What was up with Danielle?
Roxy: She said something about how she's feeling pushed out from everything with Ronnie and Jack getting married and the baby and stuff.
Sean: Is that everything?
Roxy: I don't think so, but there's no use in going on at her. She's stubborn like Ronnie. She'll hold it in, then break down.
Sean: Yea, I suppose. She is like Ronnie in loads of ways but she's like you, too.
Roxy: How?
Sean: She has a desire to be close to Ronnie.
Roxy: I have to open the club. You coming?
Sean: What about Amy?
Roxy: She can come or Peggy can look after her.
Meanwhile, at Ronnie's flat, Danielle and Stacey are sitting on the sofa. Daniel and Becks are at the door. Danielle opens the door and lets them in.
Daniel: Here, Stace, do you want to go to the club tonight?
Stacey: Danielle, are you going?
Danielle: Hell yeah. Roxy's DJing tonight and her music is good.
Becks: Lets go then.
They head to the club to find Roxy and Sean in the office and the club filled with people.
Daniel: Stace, you want to dance?
Stacey: Yea, sure.
Becks: Dan, do you want to dance?
Danielle: Yea, alright.
They dance for a while. Danielle decides to sit down for a bit. Stacey buys in drinks and sits beside her as Daniel and Paul go outside for a bit.
Stacey: You OK?
Danielle: Yea, I'm fine. I'm going to see when Roxy's doing DJ. (she gets up, Stacey follows) OK, fine. Yes, there is something up. I can't explain. It's too complicated but hey, that's my life.
Stacey: Do you want to talk?
Danielle: No, I think I'll just go home.
Stacey: I'll go with you.
Danielle: NO, STACEY. I WANT TO BE ON MY OWN.
Stacey: OK. See you later then.
Danielle walks out and goes back to the flat. Roxy comes out and starts to DJ. After half an hour, she realises that Danielle's not there. She takes a break and finds Stacey.
Stacey: Good DJ skills, Rox.
Roxy: Thanks. Where's Danielle?
Stacey: Home. She said something was too complicated and that it was her life.
Roxy: Have you seen Sean?
Stacey: No!
Roxy walks off to find Sean. She can't find him so she texts Danielle, 'hey babes, r u OK? Y did u go? X rox.' Twenty minutes later, Sean comes in and there's no reply from the text.
Sean: Are you OK? I was just talking to Stacey. Danielle's with Becks at the flat.
Roxy: Yea, I'm fine. Just worried about Danielle for a bit there, thought she was on her own.
Sean: You need to relax. What's up with you?
Roxy: I don't know, Sean. I just feel like complete crap tonight and I have no idea why.
Sean: Awk, babes, you go home and I'll close up.
Roxy kisses him and goes home. The day before Ronnie and Jack come home, Danielle goes over to the Vic to see Roxy.
Danielle: Rox, can we talk?
Roxy: You OK? I mean, I haven't seen you since the night you disappeared with Becks. Have you been with him since?
Danielle: He hasn't left my side.
Roxy: How stupid are you, Dan? He's the one who got you pregnant.
Danielle: I love him, Roxy. OK? I love him. I know that. Do you think that thought never entered my mind?
Roxy: Does Ronnie know who it is?
Danielle: Yea, she does.
I'm taking a break from this fanfic and starting a new one. I will continue this as well.
