Shadowmist here!

So, yeah, this is a filler chapter that took so long to write. I guess I'm having a writer's block. I know what will happen but I can't place it into words or in sequence... But, I'll get over this.. This is shorter than the last chapter. There are still OCs I haven't introduced yet though.

Disclaimer: I do not own most of the OCs here. And Fairy Tail

The guild of Mystic Lightning remained quiet. Only glasses touching the tables made a sound. Mumbles were occasionally heard.

Jeric sighed as he cleaned the counter. He then sighed again. "Geez, what's there to clean? It's been spotless for days now..."

The young man of lean muscular build before Jeric looked at him as he spoke. He had medium spiky bluish-white hair and a slight stubble for a beard.

His clothing consisted of a hoodie. He had an open vested, white trench coat with silver lining, regular long sleeved gray shirt underneath which has a piece of cloth reaches up to cover the lower half of his face up and over his nose. His baggy white pants were tied off with a blue sash around the waist, tucked into black combat boots.

His eyes were heterochromatic - the right being blue and the left being gold. He had three claw mark scars across the right side of his jawline and a phoenix tattoo that is surrounded by fire going up the length of the right arm.

"It's really quiet around here, huh?" he said.

Jeric smiled. "Well, I'm glad you talked, Drayden, 'cause any more of this silence and I might be going crazy."

Drayden rested his arm on the counter. He looked around.

"Where did you say the rest of the guild was?" Drayden asked.

"They're at the S-class Trials," Jeric answered as he sent out a small laugh. "Believe me, all the rowdy and energetic mages are there."

Jeric then looked at Drayden. "If you joined the guild a little earlier, you would've gotten a chance."

Drayden shrugged. "I'm sure there's a time for me."

Alia then went to the corner and rested her head. "I don't understand why I can't come or even be a partner..."

Jeric chuckled. "You're too young, Alia. Even if you're a mage, the island they got to is pretty harsh."

Alia sighed with a sad face.

Jeric tapped his fingers on the corner. "Still though. It's been 3 days already... The S-class Trials must really be hard on them, huh?"

"BIG WAVE COMING ALONG!" Diana laughed as she hurled a big wave of water over the other mages.

"Aaaah! Diana!" Jay managed to shout at her before the wave could engulf her and the rest of the other mages in water.

Diana continued to laugh.

Master Lucas and Master Alyssa approached the Hawk Eye mages who where packing all their things.

"You sure you don't want to stay for another day?" the Master asked.

"Yeah!" Master Alyssa shrugged. "Can't you?"

Marionette shook her head. "One day of dilly-dallying is enough. We still have work to do for the Magic Council."

Echora stretched her hands upward. "The water's rejuvinating though. So, if you're going to hold an S-class trial here again next year, be sure to call us."

The Master smiled. "Of course."

Karim hopped on the speedboat. "Hey, come on, let's go!"

The two girls nodded and went in. Not for long, the boat took off until it was out of the Master's sight.

He then looked at his mages. "Mystics! Lunars!

Tomorrow, we set out. So enjoy yourselves while you can."

"Yeah!" They all said in unison.

"Let's go partey!" Master Alyssa exclaimed as she went in the waters.

"Yo, check this out!" Juliet called out to Nathan. The made the traditional ice mage stance.

"Ice-make: Sea Serpent!"

Instantly, a sea serpent of ice rose from the waters.

"Heh, that's nice. But this is greater!" Nathan smirked. "Ice-make: Dragon!"

An ice dragon rose from the water and shattered Juliet's serpent. The two then got their eyes fixed on each other with faces that said 'challenge accepted.

Soon enough, ice geysers started sprouting from the waters.

Ray laughed as he looked at the two. "I know how great ice can be, but crystal beats it."

Juliet looked at him unamusingly and froze his whole body. The other mages looked at them and laughed.

Christa sat on the violet sand and looked at them from afar. Sighing, she rested her arms and chin on her knees. "I guess Ray never really had the trauma in the first place."

Seeing as Ray didn't even flinch in the water.

"Hey."

Christa turned her head to the side and saw Lucian sitting beside her.

"Um, h-hey," Christa slightly moved away from Lucian as he sat.

"So, what's up? I haven't seen you in the waters ever since... Yesterday," Lucian asked.

Christa sighed. "It's kind of a fear of some sort... But I know I'll get over it someday..."

"When did you develop such a fear?" Lucian snickered.

Christa looked at him. "Sorry, I don't really tell that story to just anyone," she then raised her hands. "No offense to you."

Lucian smiled. "I understand."

After that, there was an awkward silence. They watched the other mages play and Christa's eyes fell on Nerium and Jay who was playing with vines, being able to change its color to violet with the island's magical properties.

"The two sure are enjoying the plants here, huh?" Christa broke the silence.

Lucian arched a brow. "Who? The poison mages?"

Christa caught a different tone in his voice when he said.

"Well, Nerium doesn't really focus on poison you know?" Christa said.

"One who does is still one..." Lucian replied coldly.

Christa raised her eyebrow. "Ooookay..."

Lucian sighed and stood. "I'm sorry. I'll just be taking a walk."

Before he left, he smiled at Christa.

Christa leaned back with her arms as a support. "That's... Really weird..."

"Hey! Christa!"

Christa's head turned to Kai. "Oh, hey. What's up?"

"You're missing out on the fun!" he pointed to the mages over the water.

Christa sweat-dropped. "Uh, sorry, I'd rather not go there."

Kai tilted his head. "How come? Come on! It will be fun!"

He held a hand out.

"Uh, n-no, I really rather not," Christa laughed nervously. There was no getting away if Kai was this persistent.

"Hey, I think you know what it means when someone says no," Reiss suddenly cut in out of nowhere. "Unless you're stupid."

Kai smirked and crossed his arms. "Says the guy who didn't even make it to the S-class trials."

"What did you say!?" Reiss closed his distance from Kai. Visibly, he wanted to grab Kai's collar but since he was only wearing trunks, Reiss just put a fist up.

"You wanna have a go right here!?" Reiss continued to shout. "I haven't got to kick your ass during the trials!"

"Sure, if that's what you want," Kai said with a teasing voice.

"Guys, c'mon," Christa sighed as she stopped the two before something happens. "It's only been 2 days since the exam. Chill for a moment."

The two guys looked at her, then at each other. Kai pushed Reiss back gently.

"Exactly, Christa. You should relax and enjoy," Kai said. "You should go splash some waves."

Christa was about to say something in counter to what he said but Reiss beat her to it.

"Aren't you tired of being in the water? Go play some volleyball or something," Reiss said with an annoyed tone.

Kai looked at him, thinking over what he said. "Well... That is a good suggestion..."

The two dragon slayers looked at each other.

Kai pounded his right fist on his left palm. "Okay then! We could do that for a change."

He pointed to Reiss. "Thanks, I guess. That might be the smartest thing you said ever since you joined the guild."

A nerve appeared on Reiss' forehead. "What!?"

Kai grinned and ran to the other mages, talking to them about the game.

Christa laughed.

Reiss looked back at her. "What're you laughing about?"

Christa smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate it."

Reiss looked away and crossed his arms. "For what?"

"I think you and I know very well what I'm talking about," Christa answered.

"It's no big deal. After seeing how water weighed you down on the first test in the trial, you ought to have someone worried," Reiss replied.

Christa arched a brow. "You? Worried?"

"N-no!" Reiss turned his head to her. "I'm just telling you that you should fix this problem 'cause it might get you killed someday!"

"So, you're worried?" Christa teased him.

"Argh..." Reiss rolled his eyes.

Christa laughed at his reaction.

"Hey, guys! C'mon, let's play some volleyball!" Diana shouted from afar.

Christa stood up and punched Reiss lightly on his arm as she went by him. She grinned goofily and ran. Reiss sighed and went after her.

Adrian and Nerium worked together to form a net made of vines. Nerium made a ball out of vines too.

"So, let's pick teams," Kai said.

"Can I join?" Master Alyssa asked.

"Um, sorry, Master. You have a tendency to burn something when you get excited..." Ray replied cautiously.

The lady Master sighed and walked away. "Okay... I'll just sit here..."

"Okay, first things first! Who's not playing?" Kai asked.

Ciara and Adrian both raised their hands and smiled nervously. "We aren't really the athlete type."

Isaac raised his hand too. "I'll let you kids have the fun for this," he smiled as he crossed his arms.

Marcus also raised his hand. "It looks fun but I don't really know how to play," he said with his usual monotone voice and emotionless face.

The mages looked at him as they all sweat-dropped. "You don't really look interested..."

Marcus sighed. "It's hard to say things without emotions..."

"Okay then! Let's flip coins on who goes with who," Kai smirked. "And let's make a deal... Whoever loses will get some form of punishment from the other team."

All of them looked at each other with a game face.

Isaac laughed. "Good thing I didn't join."

"First to reach 25 points wins!" Kai continued. The mages nodded.

After knowing the teams by heads or tails, the two went to their own courts.

The first team was composed by Ray, Juliet, Lucian, Jay, Kai, Diana and Alister.

The second team was composed by Christa, Reiss, Nerium, Coyote, Lisbeth, Nathan and Shiori.

Lucian had the first service and delivered the ball to the other side. In response, Coyote punched the ball back.

"Mine!" Ray exclaimed so no one else would go for the ball. He did a roundhouse kick and sent the ball down on the other court in full speed.

As a result, no one was able to receive it on the other side.

Christa looked at her brother as he grinned at her goofily.

"Show off..." She rolled her eyes and readied as the other team served again.

Diana served the ball with a cheery yell. Nerium set the ball high after it went to their court. Shiori then spiked the ball but unfortunately, Alister caught it and volleyed it back. Lisbeth then kicked it up and Reiss jumped to spike the ball.

The manner on how he spiked it was harsh and no one from the other team got to catch it.

"Ha, not bad, eh?" Coyote grinned at Reiss.

"What else would you expect?" Reiss bragged as he raised his shoulders.

Ray looked at him unamusingly. Juliet noticed his aura and held his shoulder.

"Hey, take it easy. Remember, she's your sister's friend," Juliet reminded him.

Ray groaned.

The teams continued to exchange points, each showing off their skills and natural reflexes. That was until they got off to a point where Ray's team was at 19 points and Christa's team was at 18 points.

"Shoot, we're behind!" Lisbeth gritted her teeth. "I don't want to get ordered around by these guys!"

"Well, if you guys could show a little teamwork and maybe we could win this..." Nerium sighed.

"Reiss, don't hug the ball all to yourself..." Christa said as she rested her hands on her knees.

"What? Are you saying that it's my fault?" Reiss asked, offended.

"Nooo," Christa stood up straight and placed a hand on her hip. "I'm just telling you not to be selfish when receiving the ball. Don't show off."

"Hey, Reiss, listen to the S-class mage," Nathan said with a hint of tease on Reiss.

Reiss breathed out forcefully.

"Okay! Here I come!" Kai shouted with confidence as he served the ball. Nathan received the ball and volleyed it back. Juliet received it.

Nerium set the ball but on a wrong turn so it wasn't fit to be spiked.

Christa was the nearest to save the ball so she ran to get it. Reiss was also there and was ready to receive the ball as well.

"Argh! Reiss!" Christa tried to stop but fell short. Reiss also tried to stop from running but as soon as he did, they already bumped into each other violently. They both tripped and Reiss fell on Christa.

As a result, the ball went dead and the point went to Ray's team.

Nathan sighed. "Guess this wasn't for us..."

"Alright!" Diana jumped around with her other teammates, rejoicing with their victory.

"Geez, this is such bad turn of events," Lisbeth pouted.

"Well, there's no use in sulking, we got to face the consequences..." Nerium shrugged.

"Nerium's right," Shiori said. "We fought fair and well!"

Reiss had an unamusing look. He then turned to Christa.

"Hey, watch it, will ya?" Reiss said.

"You're the one who came after the ball while I was the nearest to get it, now get off me! Your heavy!" Christa pushed Reiss away and stood.

Reiss also stood and sighed. "Well, it doesn't matter anyway, we lost."

Christa looked at him and took a deep breath. "Well, we have to lose sometimes to know what it feels like, so we'll try hard next time."

"Sorry about what I said earlier," Christa smiled at him.

Reiss looked away. "Nah, you're probably right."

As the two continued to converse, Ray on the other side looked at them with a nerve on his forehead. The more he looked angry when he saw Christa laughing.

"Ray? Hey, c'mon, we're asking you, what should we do for a punishment?" Juliet shook his shoulder lightly. His eyes remained on the two.

Juliet looked at whoever he was looking at and saw Christa and Reiss. She laughed.

"Ray, your sister's 17 and an S-class mage. I'm sure she can handle herself," Juliet grinned at him.

"What?" Ray narrowed his eyes as he looked at Juliet.

"Well, it seems that your blood is really boiling when it comes to that dragonslayer," Juliet crossed her arms. "Those two really are close judging by how they talk to each other."

Ray pouted as Juliet pressed on. "Not to mention that the two teamed up for the S-class trials."

"Urgh," Ray glared at Juliet. Juliet just laughed at Ray's expression.

Lucian looked at Ray and Juliet then to Christa.

He smiled.

xOx

The lady with a dress and a cape full of imprinted animals sat and looked at the crystal ball.

She watched the mages in Amethica island on her crystal ball.

Juno and Hera, the twins, approached her quietly. "We don't understand, Avarice. Why can't we just attack them right now?"

Hera looked at Avarice and spoke. "It would be much more fun to attack them in such a state."

Avarice turned her head to look at them. "I assure you, you would have much pleasure of taking them down with my plan."

Juno and Hera looked at each other.

"Wrecking them not only physically but emotionally would be much more pleasing to watch," Avarice smiled with a sadistic touch.

Avarice held her chin as he looked at one certain mage on her crystal ball.

She looked at Lucian who was smiling as he looked at the other mages.

"And what more pleasing would it get with the start of a simple betrayal."

So, not good as the filler chapter I wrote before but this is sorta like a foreshadowing chapter XD So yeah.
