I wanted to get this up before my exams this week. Enjoy!

(Karai's POV)

I was just kind of going about my own thing right now. Father gave me no objective for tonight other than the obvious. But I just figured I'd just look around and see if I'd run into Leo.

Hey, it's Friday night… why not live a little?

I kept going until I smirked at the exact target I was seeking. I saw Leo, all alone, crouched at this point off the corner of the roof of this building. His gaze trained on the street below.

I was about to figure out my approach when I heard what sounded like a child. I looked below at this little boy looking like he was on the verge of tears, calling for his mom. I rolled my eyes.

Well, his mother obviously holds the mother of the year award.

I shrugged it off as I looked back at where I last saw Leo only to see he was no longer there.

"Are you okay?" I look below and see Leo standing in front of the boy. The boy looked a little apprehensive and still looked like he was going to cry. He remained silent as he took a couple steps away from Leo.

"Hey, it's okay. You don't need to be scared. I'm not going to hurt you." Leo says in a calm voice and smiles at the boy.

He crouched to his knees to get down to his level.

"My name's Leo. What's your name?" Leo asks, still smiling. "T-Tyler." He says and wipes his arm across his nose as he sniffles. "Did you need help finding your mom?" Leo asks, nicely. The boy nodded as he sniffled again. Leo smiles at him again before saying, "Here, I promise we'll find her."

Leo holds out his hand to the boy and the boy looks at Leo at wide eyed before holding Leo's hand.

I was just observing this whole situation intrigued yet somehow a little flustered.

Why does Leo always have to do stuff like this? Is there nothing rotten in his whole being? He's just such a golden boy. For once I'd like to catch Leo do anything… just ANYTHING bad. Even if it's just seeing him walk on grass that has a 'keep off the grass' sign on it or littering.

Just anything to show that he has some kind of human morale flaw.

But, Leonardo's the hero who practically walks on water.

I continued to follow them. The boy just stared up at Leo as they walked, looking completely curious. "Are you a superhero?" the boy asks. Leo stopped and crouched down to the boy's level again and said, "No, I'm not a superhero. I'm just a regular guy… well, pretty much of a regular guy." Leo let out a slight laugh.

"Then why do you have swords and a mask?" The boy asks. Leo laughed a little again before saying, "Well… I'll tell you if you promise to keep it secret. Promise?" The boy nods, looking entirely captivated by Leo.

"Okay Tyler, I'm actually a ninja and these are my katana, traditional Japanese swords." Leo explains nicely. The boys eyes just kept flickering to Leo's katana on his back. "Do you want to hold one?" Leo asks, smiling still.

The boy actually smiled and nodded at Leo. Leo grinned as he detached one of his sheathed katana from his back and offered it to the boy.

"Just be careful, it might be a little heavy for you." Leo warns, before handing the sheathed katana to the boy, who was now grinning ear to ear. Leo was smiling at the boy even more as he said, "Pretty cool, right?" The boy looked up and nodded enthusiastically back at Leo.

But the boy looked like he was struggling to hold it and almost dropped it, but Leo caught it quickly with one hand. He reattached the strap over his shoulder.

"Tyler!" A woman's voice, presumably his mother, yelled. "See ya buddy." Leo says and makes a fist in front of him as the boy did the same and connected his fist with Leo's. Leo smiled before disappearing into an alley near them as the boy's mother rounded the corner.

"Tyler!" His mother yelled in relief and ran over to the boy and hugged him.

I looked up and saw Leo looking down at them, smiling from the roof.

I looked down at the boy and his mother again and feel an uncomfortable sensation course through me, bringing up things I'd rather not like to think about. I glanced in Leo's direction only to see him running away from me in the opposite direction.

I decided to follow him to see if I can still contrive another situation between us tonight.

Still, not surprisingly, Leo's good with kids. Why wouldn't he be? He literally has no faults. Who knows what gallant thing I'll see him do next? Rescuing babies from a burning building? Well, it wouldn't surprise me.

But, whatever...

Time to do a little game of follow the leader.

5 days later

(April's POV)

It was a very anticlimactic birthday. Today I turned 17 and I'm spending my birthday finishing the last paragraph of my history paper in my room on a Wednesday night.

There's just no point in celebrating on a school night in my opinion. Besides, even though I'm almost done with my paragraph, it was 9:30 at night and my dad was working a night shift tonight, running a test on something and probably won't be back until around midnight.

I was finally able to finish and print out my paper.

My dad told me we'd celebrate my birthday properly on Friday.

Done, finally. Well, guess nothing left to do but watch TV until I go to bed. I was about to walk out of my room when I heard tapping on my window. I went to my window and smiled when I saw Donnie. I opened my window.

"Hey April." Donnie says smiling at me with his hands behind his back. "Hey Donnie… so, what brings you here on this lovely Wednesday evening?" I ask a little sarcastically, smiling. "I just wanted to say Happy Birthday." Donnie says, still grinning at me.

I was entirely surprised. "You remembered?" I ask, still astonished he remembered. "Of course, why wouldn't I? Also, I just thought I'd see what you were doing to celebrate at all?" Donnie inquires.

I shrug. "Nothing actually. Can't really do much on a school night." I explain. "I had a hunch so…" Donnie pulled a box out from behind his back. "I bought a box of brownie mix. I remembered you say you prefered brownies to cake and figured this could be my way to contribute."

Again, I'm always amazed at how much he actually remembers of the things I say.

I couldn't stop myself from stretching out the window to give him a hug. "Thank you, Donnie." I say, still totally grateful. I felt him return the hug and say back, "Your welcome, April." I backed away and smiled at him again.

"Come in." I say and Donnie smiled at me as he stepped through my window and took off his bo and mask before setting them near my window.

"How about we get these going?" I say motioning to the box of brownie mix. "But of course." he agrees and we both laugh slightly before walking out of my room and into the kitchen.

I got out the basic components and added them to the mix in the bowl before getting out the hand mixer from under the counter.

It was ancient. My parents got it as a wedding present and it still works, but barely. It's totally a pain to even start the stupid thing, but my dad refuses to replace it until it totally dies.

Only me and my dad know exactly how to operate it it seems.

"Want me to do that? I feel bad about you doing all this work when it's your birthday. Not to mention it was my idea to bring it here." Donnie asks. I shrug and say, "It's okay. Besides, I should probably do it. This is kind of a… trick mixer."

Donnie gave me a look with a slightly playful grin on his face. "April, I make miracles of modern science from complete garbage, I'm pretty sure I can operate a hand mixer. Anyone can do this." He insists, smirking at me now. I put my hands up and step back. I motioned to the mixer and bowl on the table and smirk before saying, "If you say so."

Donnie stepped up to the bowl and I went to the side to watch him attempt it. I start to smirk to myself when I see him struggling to start it. I could tell he was getting frustrated. Then he was trying to jiggle the switch with his thumb as his eyes narrowed at the mixer.

Then the mixer went on full blast and caused the mixture to splatter into Donnie's face. I put my hands over my mouth as I snorted out a laugh. I was fighting back from cracking up at the left part of his face being splattered with the mixture.

"I guess not everyone can use a mixer, apparently." I say and let a laugh escape me.

Donnie slowly turns his head to look in my direction. Then he looked back slowly at the bowl and I saw the corners of his lips quirk up. He put the fingers of his right hand into the bowl and then he quickly lashed his hand out to smear his fingers on the left side of my face. I jumped back slightly and then looked back at Donnie who had a slightly mischievous smile on his face as he looked at me.

I return the smile but then he just ran off out of the kitchen.

"Oh no you don't." I call out with a laugh and run after him.

We just ran around my apartment with me trying to catch him, which is extremely hard considering how much faster Donnie is than I am. But it was fun in a way. We were both running and laughing. It was like playing tag in elementary school again.

Donnie ran into my kitchen and I followed just in time to see him disappear back into my living room through the other doorway. I smirked and laughed as I said, "I have you now."

But as I crossed the threshold... It was silent and I could not find him anywhere.

Then I picked up a light foot fall behind me as I felt myself getting grabbed from behind. "Gotcha." Donnie says with a laugh, as he kept his arms wrapped around me.

"C'mon, Donnie. That's totally not fair. I was the one chasing you remember?" I complain with a laugh. "Oh how the tides have turned." He replies jokingly and we both just end up laughing.

I can't remember the last time I laughed like this. It felt like ages. I felt his grip on me loosen a little as he laughed with me. We slowly stopped laughing and then the situation changed in terms of the atmosphere. I was facing him. My hands were resting on his chest and his arms were still wrapped loosely around my my mid-back.

There was nothing as I lifted my eyes up and saw Donnie looking right at me.

It was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. I felt like I wasn't thinking as my hands mindlessly moved to his shoulders. I felt the blush on face intensify when his hand lightly caressed my cheek. I felt like my head and my body were no longer in sync as I just kept looking at him.

Then I felt my eyes close slowly as I saw him leaning closer to me.

But they shot back open when I felt his lips contact mine. I'm kissing Donnie… But, there was something I wasn't expecting… I liked it. I leaned into him and he held me closer.

We stayed that way for a couple seconds before we both pulled away and stared at each other again.

(Donnie's POV)

Did that happen? Was this all real? Am I sure I didn't die and go to Heaven?

But then I felt her pull on my shoulders and her lips connected with mine again as my eyes went wide. April's kissing me?... APRIL'S KISSING ME!

I was trying to take everything in. I wasn't exactly sure how kissing her would feel… but this is AWESOME! Nothing I have daydreamed about before could compare to kissing this angel in front of me.

I felt calm but I also felt like I was going into cardiac arrest.

I still couldn't believe it. April O'Neil, the girl of my dreams, is ACTUALLY kissing ME! Now that I'm here with her, kissing her, after months and months of waiting… it was soooooooo worth the wait.

Nothing mattered anymore. Not my brothers getting to kiss a girl before I did, not the Kraang, not the Shredder… all that mattered was the girl kissing me right now.

My princess… my April.

My life can literally have no greater purpose than what I am doing right now, and that is kissing the most beautiful girl in the entire world. We pulled away again and she looked at me and I couldn't fight back a small smile on my face as I brushed my thumb over the soft skin of her cheek.

My heart rate picked up even more when I saw her smile a little back at me as I saw her blush intensify on her cheeks.

Sure we probably look weird with batter smudges on our faces, but this was the most beautiful I have ever seen her.

I didn't want to say anything and chance ruining this absolutely perfect moment, so I just leaned in again to kiss her.

I didn't know exactly how this went here, but we somehow ended up on her living room couch, making out on her living room couch to be more precise.

She was sitting on my lap with her arms secured around my neck. My hands kept changing position and direction on her back as I held her as close to me as possible. Our lips were moving together in a perfect sequence.

This whole thing felt entirely right. It was like she was always meant to be with me like this.

I could die right now and feel totally fulfilled.

My eyes went wide when I felt her lean back and she pulled me over her as we continued kissing. I let out a long sigh and my eyes felt like they rolled into the back of my head as her fingers roved lightly through my hair.

"April." I breathe out as we continued.

That was the one word that just kept going through my brain; April. I have an IQ of 293 and a knowledge entirely more vast than a collection of a 1000 sets of encyclopedias; yet her name was the only word my brain was able think of. That name was the only word that I knew of at this moment and the girl that name belonged to was all that really mattered to me.

I was disappointed when I felt her hands leave my hair but then I felt her tugging on my shirt and my brain felt like it was a computer on overload and it was about to crash.

I could deny her almost nothing. I'd give her almost anything she wanted. I quickly shifted my shirt off me as I continued to kiss her. We had to break apart briefly as we both pulled my shirt over my head and brushed it on the floor before connecting our lips back together.

I felt all the muscles in my back collectively spasm and tense up as I felt her hands touching my torso tentatively.

This felt entirely right. I couldn't stop myself. I was just following instinct and the need to want to be with her like this. Kiss her like this. My lips moved down and I left a trail across any of the skin on her jaw I could touch before moving to her neck.

Then I felt like I was going to officially go into cardiac arrest when I heard her beautiful voice breathe out, "Donnie."

I immediately moved my lips back to hers to connect with her again.

I looked at my shirt on the floor but then I looked down again at April snuggled up to me.

I rubbed my hand up and down her back as I pressed my lips to the top of her head. Neither of us said anything. There was nothing that needed to be said. Everything felt so perfect and content.

But, then I remembered what she told me earlier. Her dad was coming home at around midnight and I looked at the clock and saw it was 11:42.

Look, Mr. O'Neil likes me and even gave me his approval, so I'd rather not ruin all that with him finding me here with my shirt discarded after I just made out with his daughter.

I put my hand under her chin to lead her to look up at me. She looked up at me with those beautiful eyes and it made it that much harder for me to want to leave her. I sat up and she sat up with me. I rested my hand on the side of her face.

"I think I need to go." I say and motion my eyes to the clock. She sighed a little before nodding at me and getting up. I followed as I grabbed my shirt off the floor.

I was putting on my mask and bo before I went back out, but not before I glanced at April who walked over to me and gently rested her hands on my shoulders. She smiled at me and I immediately smiled back.

"I'll txt you when I get back to the lair, okay?" I assure her, caressing her face in my hand. She just kissed me lightly before lingering away slowly and smiled at me. "Okay." She replied.

I couldn't resist as I returned the gesture. I pulled away and leaned my forehead against hers briefly as I whispered, "Happy Birthday April." When I climbed out her window and climbed on top of her roof as I took off.

I felt the biggest smile on my face as I continued to sprint back home.

I was still in a state of disbelief, but I was eventually able to stop questioning myself.

It happened… IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! I KISSED APRIL!

I don't know where things will go from here with us. But, I don't care if she wants to be girlfriend right away or she wants to wait, because now I know that I have achieved my primary goal.

April likes me and that will be enough to hold me over for whatever she wants or needs to decide about what happens next.

Yeah, Apritello finally happened! Where could things possibly go from here? You'll just have to wait and see.
