Chapter 12
"New beginnings are often disguised by painful endings."

"How did it get to this point?"
"Brother?"
"I wonder if life in the castle was the better choice. At least then I wouldn't have to make this choice." I clenched my fist feeling slightly betrayed but at the same time i understand her decision.
"If you look back...then you'll see why. Then you'll see why it got this point! Why...Why this is the right choice!" I looked at her furious.
"But is it the right path!" She was shocked. "Don't you see no matter what side you pick you'll have to hurt the people you care about!" My breath started to hitch as i couldn't hold in my tears. Kamui covered her mouth tears slowly running down her eyes.
"That's war...sometimes you may not like it! But these have to be done to ensure peace!" Ryouma...cant just shut his mouth can he?
"You idiot yes it brings peace to one side but brings destruction to the other!" I put a hand out. "I get why you want to do it to garon but i can't hurt the people who cared for all those years." Ryouma shakes his head.
"Than isn't it obvious there is no need to talk anymore."
"Yes there is no reason to prolonged this any longer." Said Xander as he rode up a little further.
"Move aside if you wish to have no part in this fight."
"Yes runaway like the coward you are…" Ryouma pauses twirls his sword and gets into a stance. "Because if you were a true warrior or even my brother you would face your problems head on!" I smile.
So this is how it has to go down huh?
"Kyuma!" Of course you would call out to me Camilla.
"Ryoma w-" I sigh as Ryoma ignores her and tells his man to charge. In exchange so does Xander. I'm going to lose control for a while...so forgive me if I hurt you Kamui.
As each side came closer I thought one thing:
How did it get to this?
ஜ۩۞۩ஜ
It only took a moment for realization to dawn on me that I was awake. Of course with that came the drowsiness and the slight pain from previous events that left me wanting to wake up in better conditions.
Not wasting time I opened my eyes just to find the green haired ninja Kaze. Questions swirled my head as I finally remembered what happened before i unfortunately lost consciousness. Questions started to form in my head worried for my sister.
I clutched my head in pain. A headache keeping me from speaking those questions now swirling in my head.
Kaze saw this and his eyes ran over my features frowning in displeasure. "Are you alright?" He voiced concern, but I know i'm going to be okay. I was tolerant when it came to pain and using that to my advantage I have the pleasure of seeing if I can stand up.
"Prince Kyuma you must not get up." Kaze tried to put his hand on my shoulder to stop me from hurting myself even more. I appreciate the concern but with a swat i removed his hand. Not with words but actions I told him I'm in no need of assistance. I didn't do it forcefully just enough that it slid of my shoulder. A brush would have been a more useful term to describe what I did right?
"I'm fine." What I said was partly true, I was fine, aside from the fact the pain in my stomach that's keeping me slightly hunched over. As soon as the headache came a few moments after it subsided allowing me to think straight.. The ground shook, the skies cried with thunder, and echoed with a beastly roar we all heard. It startled both me and the ninja at first before a quick assessment made me aghast from whom the roar came from.
…
…
Kamui had turned into a dragon. I almost forgot. I turned to the sound to find myself stopping and facing in front of me again.
Her transformation must have reacted to her emotional state. It seems Kamui is on a rampage. Psychological damage is not something that can be easily fixed.
What I saw is something I wouldn't want to describe. The blast not only killed mother and others, but laid waste to the kingdoms structures. Pillars, market stands, and the statue were all destroyed. "I can't believe it was this bad." I ran a hand through my black hair in disbelief. Such a bright sky turned to darkness in a matter of minutes.
"Yes. It seems that way. Those Nohrian's…" Kaze brows furrowed in anger which to me I felt was a rare sight. The ninja seemed more calm and reasonable rather than the one to be angry all the time. Whatever the reason Kaze wanted to finish his statement but decided against it. He stood still looking at the rubble as if it still didn't click in his mind how bad the damage inflicted actually was.
I turned and walked away. Towards the group Ryouma, Sakura, Azura, and the others.
Kamui at this point had slowly shrunk back to her original form.
"Gods Azura are you okay? I..can't believe what i did to you. It's like i had no control over myself." She was on the ground breathing hard and I slowly walked over. I reached over and grabbed Azura by the arm.
"C'mon let's get you off the ground." She nodded and pushed herself up with me so she could stand. She held her arm and took a breath before giving me a nod of thanks.
"Don't worry about it. That wasn't you. It was the blood of the ancient dragon that runs in your veins." Azura explained to Kamui.
Wait didn't Xander say something similar? "The dusk dragons power runs in the Nohr royal family blood right?" I asked unsure. Ryoma nodded confirming my information. "And the blood of the dawn dragon runs through ours." He added still looking hard at Kamui as she sat on her knees.
"But you're special Kamui. You can turn into a dragon unlike us." Ryouma stated his tone of his voice sounding impressed towards the end. I scratched the back of my head and looked at my hands more specifically at my nails. The longer I looked the more the imagery of my unfinished transformation flashed before me as i shook my head. That dragon Kamui turned into was also going to be me in those following moments if Azura didn't stop me.
"Before…" Everyone looked at me. I maintained contact with Azura golden eyes for my question was for her. "You sung that song i also felt myself slipping away or transforming...does that mean i was also going to turn into a dragon?" Azura looked at the ground momentarily trying to gather her thoughts and returned her sight back to me.
"It is most plausible that was going to happen, yes." I nodded in understanding. Before turning away to take another look of the destroyed plaza. Kamui let out a shaky breath, "All those innocent people...there were vendors and children roaming the streets so happy why?" Kamui voice trembled slightly almost breathless as she was taken away by the fact all those men, women and children are dead. She is devastated and is everyone else i'm pretty sure.
"It was planned all along by Garon Kamui." I stated anger flooding my tone as I stared longer at the rubble. It was once a street which held such bright and kind people who are probably dead. "Hm...so that sword was a gift from king garon was it?" The prince was right and like that it made me wonder why I hadn't seen it sooner. That sword was obviously unstable and full of dark energy just like shadorintingu.
Shadorintingu...it also had the same reaction as ganglari. Garon also had gifted me this sword. Kamui nodded answering Ryoma question.
"I'm so sorry if I hadn't had the sword...I wish I could've seen it coming." Kamui head hung lower than before the tightening of her fist on her leg showed just how much she was holding in her tears.
I sighed as I put a hand to my heart. "I'm also sorry. For if I had foreseen that my sword was going paralyze me, mother may still be alive." Ryouma shook his hand and opened his mouth to say something before Takumi interrupted him.
"Your apologies means NOTHING!" I turned to him as pure anger and hatred filled his features, but was betrayed by the tears coming from his eyes. "It is your fault! Mother...is DEAD! Along with countless others that could still be alive if you two hadn't shown up on our doorstep." He wiped his face angrily.
He's grieving and his way to cope was to become angry. To blame us for our mothers death...was he truly wrong of accusing us of that?
"You don't belong here!" Then with a ferocious scream he aimed his bow at me forming a blue magic arrow ready to hit me at his own release. Ryouma screamed for Takumi to stop while Azura tried to speak words of reasoning only for her to be silenced by a glare and Takumi's hurtful words.
An interloper? Wow has he gone mad.
"Takumi…" He glared at Kamui now pointing the arrow at her. "Don't speak my name! You're not my sister." I started laughing softly to myself and shook my head.
"Can we really believe they knew nothing about this?!" Takumi enraged tone did not waver as he accused us of deceiving him and everyone else. Hinoka stomped over now angered by Takumi actions.
This is pitiful.
"What are you saying?" Hinoka attempted to continue what she was going to say but i cut her off with my hand. "Stop."
I spread my arms out wide. "Go ahead and hit me in the chest." Takumi gritted his teeth and aimed it at me as his arms started to tremble.
Everyone stayed silent in that moment as we watched for Takumi next action. For 30 straight seconds he did not release the arrow. I dropped my arms with a shake of my head. "I knew it...you know that what we're saying is true. Hell even your retainers that you assigned to spy on me would agree with me." That's when Takumi was forced to lower his bow by Oboro. He looked at her than back at me.
"Takumi you don't have to trust me. But Kamui and Kyuma are your blood siblings." Azura again trying to be the voice of reason tried to make Takumi see that he is acting irrational to the situation. But is his anger justified? Yes, but not to the point where he should kill us though.
"It doesn't matter Azura...although we didn't know what would happen I can understand why Takumi is mad at us. Directly or indirectly involved, we did help in the death of mother." I clutched at my chest where the necklace was hidden from plain sight.
Mother...was this your last gift to me?
"Kyuma you...shouldn't say that." Azura said in an empathetic tone. I turned and walked over to Kamui who didn't look so good right now. She was ready to explode...to breakdown. I Bent down on one leg and embraced her.
"Brother. Everyone I'm so sorry I've just brought pain to all of you." She whispered her tone representing how hurt and sad she is. Her arms held tightly onto me and I patted her head.
"It's…" I bit my lip forcing myself to pause. I knew that it wasn't fine. Her crying started and I started to hush her. My hand gliding through her pink hair.
"Don't blame yourself." I stated but Kamui pushed herself off and tried desperately wipe the running tears away.
"But my sword! If I didn't have that sword...mother would s-st..." Kamui couldn't finish her sentence as she started to cry even more. That sword Ganglari...father gave it to her.
He knew. Ryoma was right that despicable man plannedfor this to happen from the very start.
She pulled on my sleeve. "Can we leave? It would have been better if we never came here." I was surprised at her request but slowly considered it.
Hurried came rushing to me. "Please wait. I don't think that's what Queen Mikoto would've wanted." Ryoma stoic face had turned to one of genuine surprise.
"What do you mean? Did she say something to you?"
Yukimura closed his eyes and lowered his head a bit. "Yes don't blame yourself for your mother had foreseen her death." Our full attention was then turned to Yukimura the tactician of the Hoshido forces.
Ryouma shook his head. "Mother...we could have prevented this." He turned away before walking off. Regret was etched on his face as he walked away from us.
"He'll be back. But for now I must see to it that you both turn your heads to the destroyed statue." We all did so and Kamui gasped in surprise. It was a golden sword sticking from the rubble of the statue.
"Is...that a sword?" Kamui stood confusion taking set on her expressions as she looked at the gold sword.
"It is. The divine sword Yato. The sword is much like Ryoma's divine raijinto and Takumi's Fujin Yumi." Yukimura pushed up his glasses. "But unlike the rest of the divine weapons it was said that Yato was forged to be the key to peace in this world."
"Who ever gets the sword holds that responsibility." Yukimura stated as he watched closely. I turned to Kamui and we stared at each other for a bit then back at the divine blade.
Who exactly will get the sword?
I watched as the blade un-lodged itself from its place and come flying towards us. I almost tensed as It came flying towards me.
This is bad.
Right before the blade was going to cut off my head I ducked. I blinked 2 times and stood straight again. I looked at Yukimara who seemed unsure of what to say. Everyone else either looked in awe or confusion.
"Impossible."
"That was weird for a moment I thought it was going to you brother." I turned to Kamui with a smile.
"Yeah guess I was in it's way." She shook her head. "What? It probably meant to stop at...some...point." I gave her an all knowing look. I know for one that sword was not stopping.
"But why not brother?" Kamui asked Yukimura who seemed to not know the answer himself. I shrugged.
"I really don't care." I stated simply smiling at her. She gave a weak smile back as she stared at the legendary sword Yato once more.
"Ahh I see you still have that sword." I looked up at Yukimura in confusion. He raised an eyebrow and pointed at my waist. I looked down quickly and saw what he was talking about shadorintingu.
"You should get rid of it...we don't want another repeat of what happened before again." I turned to Ryoma who amazingly came back at the right moment. I chuckled at Ryoma's worrying. "Oh you mean shadorintingu…" I took the sword from around my waist.
I took the handle and drew it from its sheath. "There is no more electricity running through it anymore...it seems to have sealed its powers off or something like that." I put it back into it's sheath and returned it to my waist.
"I can't even feel it's darkness anymore." At this point Yukimura sighed.
"This is probably not over...especially now that the barrier is gone." That'S right! Hinoka said something about that before. That mother was the reason for the barrier being up and it literally prevented Nohrian soldiers from wanting to fight once they were inside. Once the barrier was down it'S basically open season for any invading army to attack.
"Kyuma." I blinked waking up from my stupor. I looked at who called my name it was Ryoma. His face was unreadable as he walked up. He put a hand on my shoulder, "You...must be tired."
Tired. I took a deep breath. "We all are tired aren't we?" I looked around at everyone who seemed to actually concede to their exhaustion at the moment with the exception of yukimura who just pushed up his glasses.
"Indeed. We've just been fighting nonstop awhile ago we need time to recover too." Hinoka said leaning on her lance.
"Not only physically but mentally." Rinkah added crossing her arms and looking around. "It feels me with grief and anger at what lengths the Nohrian's are willing to go to achieve their goal." I agree but this was all Garon's fault right? Xander and the others have nothing to do with this right?
"Lord Ryoma! If I may? I have important news. A massive Nohrian force is gathering at our border." Once Kaze alerted us everyone was stunned. They're striking so early!?
Ryoma shook his head and let out an aggravated breath. "This is the final straw...I have worked hard to avoid an all out war but now...death is too good for them who's with me!?"
This...this is bad. This isn't looking good at all.
We were quick there was no time to waste as every soldier in the Hoshido arsenal was deployed and told to get read for war. I had gotten treated again from Sakura who gratefully sought to my previous injury.
It only took approximately 5 hours to assemble their army and less to make it face to face with the Nohrian Army at the border. As e marched up I had hoped this band of soldiers was being led by a different commander.
Hoped and prayed but it proved fruitless because the one who stood alone in the front at perched upon his trusty steed was none other then Xander. I fought off the uneasiness in my stomach as my pace quickened next to Ryoma. We marched on a green grass field so vibrant and looked full of life, but all I saw was flashing images of blood being strewn staining the lush and vibrant ground. I looked up again to see we were closer now I looked about as we approached and found to the far left of Xander a short distance away my si-the other Nohrian royalty.
I caught glimpse of Camilla she was the first person i sought hastily with my eyes out of every other sibling. I hoped she hadn't seen me...but her eyes wide and her features flashed nothing short of relief i quickly averted my eyes.
My heart couldn't take much more of that.
Xander was more clearer to see now. Blonde hair, mature face full of a hard and calculating stare as he watched us march up. Kamui had run ahead leaving behind Ryoma and I to run after her. The army was behind us was on standby waiting patiently the moment or command that started the bout; the war.
I ran forward with all my might catching up to Kamui. Xander eyes landed upon me and his features considerably loosened as he smiled happy to see us. "Good you're both safe from harm."
"Xander…" I felt compelled to say more, ask why he was leading this strike, but the answer was too painfully obvious and for me not to see it I would be a fool. Kamui wasn't as silent as me.
"We're fine. But why are you invading Hoshido?!" Kamui was tense I could see it feel it in her body language that she didn't even want to hear the answer. She perhaps already knew it too.
"Father says it's time to show our true strength." Xander features hardened again into a fierce glare as he looked at Ryoma his obvious rival. His expression didn't change then. He was serious.
To even enforce that feeling he yelled to us. "Join us and we'll end this quickly. If we conquer Hoshido here and now, we can avoid unnecessary bloodshed." Kamui was shocked. She didn't show it but I could see it as she took a step back. I was appalled by the fact he used my sisters want for unnecessary bloodshed to make her switch sides right away.
"Xander...I-I need a minute."
"..." I kept silent if he expected a response he wouldn't get it. Not yet. I-I have to figure out what i want to say. To tell you the truth I was frozen never was i put into a predicament like this. It was like putting quilt to paper with no idea of how to write.
I didn't have anything to say.
Ryoma stepped forward. "Kamui stop. That man is a Nohrian Commander!" Kamui turned suddenly but i still stood frozen even more so as I heard a screech. Dare I say it's call was too familiar to distinct. There she came with Leo and Elise following not far behind the two.
"Kyuma! Kamui! I was so worried about you don't ever wander from me again!" Camilla happy voice was all but making my chest hurt. Leo and Elise too.
"You must have the devil's luck," I wish I did Leo, "Yay we got our sister and brother back!" Elise please don't be too happy.
"Argh dammit…" I clutched my head as the Hoshido royal family interjected.
"Kyuma…" Kamui words were pained but i didn't look at her not able to face the eyes of either royal family nor my sister.
"Don't be fooled by their words! You belong with you're true family in Hoshido!" Ryoma stood resolute amongst everything.
"We have loved you and raised you both since you were children. Come home you two! We can live as a family once more!" But Xander wasn't backing down either. I finally got the courage to look up into Xanders slowly raising arm. An open hand outstretched awaiting our decision. Home...what was home when we knew the truth?
"O-Onee-chan! Onii-chan!" Sakura runs over a worried but pleading look on her face.
"They're my Onee-chan and Onii-chan!" Elise yells as i turn my head swiftly. Strange Elise and Sakura...their faces...they look alike.
"We're your family."
Are you really?
My head was spinning. Their voices echoing in my head. Memories getting played over. I wasn't the one for emotions but i try to be the stronger one. I refuse to cry right now of all places.
"Kamui...Kyuma…" I could hear Camilla somehow someway her voice a pleading whisper.
"Kyuma! Kamui!" That was Hinoka she looked ready to charge in but seemed stunned hoping and waiting for our answer. In her head I know she was pleading too for us to
I turned to my sister. She looked into the distance not focusing on one specific thing. Her pupils shaked and danced around. I slowly reached up and touched her shoulder...i didn't see before but she was trembling.
She slowly turned to me as we locked eyes. I put my other hand on her shoulder. "Kamui…" Her red eyes filled with tears then as she realized and then i realized with wide eyes as Kamui started crying.
"Onii-chan...Onii-chan...Im sorry im sorry." I looked to Xander and Ryoma as they looked away. Then to the siblings. Hinoka was fighting back tears and Sakura was already crying. She didn't realize until the moment she wiped her face. Takumi just seemed indifferent too all this.
Camilla didn't show an emotion her mouth slightly ajar as if she wanted say something but her bottom lip quivered in response. Elise was crying too. Leo stood silent similar to Takumi he was indifferent but he looked away a few passing moments as my little sister cried.
"Kyuma I-I C-Cant I Can't!" I shook here right then and there. "Stop crying!" My scream filled the air with a thunderous presence.
Everybody eyes returned to us in that moment as silence fill the air. Only Kamui filled with shock as her breath hitched in her voice every second. I moved my hands to her face slowly using the back of my hand to wipe her tears away.
"Listen to me and listen to me good Kamui." She shook her head no. "I can't…" It was a whisper a plead but I just shook her again. My mouth went on autopilot.
"I'm not going to be here forever. Kamui...you must do what you believe is right. Everyone has their own fate. You decide how the story goes. You decide how your story ends." I cupped her cheeks and put my forehead to hers.
"You do." I whispered. I kissed her forehead and backed up. Her eyes shut tight and she took a long breath and after a long excruciating silence she backed up slowly near Ryoma and the others.
…
…
Was there another choice?
She twirled Yato and stood fearless at Xander.
"I've made my choice...I stand with Hoshido my birthright."
Xander was hurt as for the first time in forever he became emotionally vulnerable. Betrayal he never thought he see was etched on his face. "Kamui...don't tell me you're siding with Hoshido?"
How did it get to this point?
"I feared the Hoshidans might try to brainwash you, It is true that we lack common blood. But still we've treated you as kin since the very first day you arrived at Nohr." Xander tries his best to get through to Kamui but her mind is made up.
"Xander just stop." I plead but Xander refuses to, too hurt, in grief, and in disbelief to believe Kamui wouldn't come back to Nohr with him.
Everything that we've been through and we've seen comes back full circle.
"Kyuma..Kamui...m-my dear children." I remember now right as her eyes closed before she breathed her last breath barely a whisper.
I gritted my teeth. Clutching at the necklace through the cloth of my clothes. My decision...that vision...mother forgive me for what I'm about to do.
"We could've been easily as killed along with Queen Mikoto. The truth is we were just pawn's, Collateral damage." Kamui wanted Xander to see reason but was it working? Safe to say it looks like it is. Xander was listening intently as she spoke only time will tell what he truly thinks.
"King Garon was willing to sacrifice our lives for the pursuit of his agenda." Xander seem to lean back obviously disturbed by the information. He was befuddled. "Face it Xander, Garon is no longer human he is pure evil." At that it seemed everything Kamui said backfired.
Xander eyes lowered and his brows furrowed in anger. "Father...evil? How could you say that little princess?"
Try as she may Xander role as Commander of Nohr didn't allow him to switch sides. To betray his own father...he couldn't do it.
"Join us a-" Xander leaped and struck down Kamui was barely able to block in time.
The siblings were stunned especially the Nohr royalty as Xander glared at her. "There's my answer traitor." A low growl as he showed he was all business. "Traitor? Wai-" Xander didn't want to hear none of it.
"Enough. I never thought you would turn your back on your family and kingdom. Your betrayal will not be forgiven. You want to side with Hoshido? Fine." He seemed to calm down only to raise his sword high.
"Over my dead body!" Kamui stood frozen as Xander landed 3 quick but precise strike the last sending her tumbling backwards. However Xander didn't seem keen on killing Kamui as those strikes didn't seem to truly injure her.
Ryouma and Xander traded blows each other blocking respectively. "Brother st-stop them!" Kamui looked at me from her position on the ground all fours as she pleaded with me.
…
There's really only one thing to do…"I won't let you take her!" That's when Ryouma raised his sword readying to swing once more but I was swift in stopping his strike right as it descended. I closed my eyes as the sheathed slipped from the dark blade.
"Kyuma!" I could hear Hinoka and Elise yell out in horror. As I opened my eyes I looked straight at Kamui and silently mouthed the words.
Her eyes immediately teared up.
"Through the trampling of our enemies and through the the conquering of lands…" The purple electricity sprouted out then filling the air and clouds with a thunderous roar as purple electricity flickered and meshed with Ryoma blue lightning.
I looked at Ryoma and all I could see was shock and betrayal on his face as he we struggled against each other's swords.
"I stand with Nohr!" I pushed up and at the moment Ryoma stumbled back.
"That's it brother! It's good to see one of you haven't been brainwashed."
I stood silent as Ryouma jumped up uninjured. His face was resolute as he shook his head when he made contact with my eyes. "So be it...then it's decided."
"Quite...let's end this quarrel once and for all!"
"Hoshido! Attack!"
"Nohr! Forward!"
I could hear the armies running yelling with a murderous volume as there fast approaching footsteps alerted me to the pending clash.
Xander had rushed forward to attack Ryoma and so did Ryoma. Could see it from afar as Kamui ran forward but was cut off by a group of Nohrian warriors.
I walked to where she was holding my sword low to my side. There he came a hoshidon shoulder plated in red traditional armor. He raised his sword high and without even batting an eye I slashed at his legs making fall to the ground.
I kept walking as more of hoshido shoulders decided to test my might. They were child's play as they all came in one at a time. I clashed swords but my power was way stronger than his. I pushed up and shoulder tackled him knocking him off glance before stabbing him in the stomach the space between his armor.
The other hoshido soldiers were picked off by incoming Nohrian forces allowing me to pass out into the open.
…
There I saw her out of breath as she fought to catch her breath.
"Kamui -" In not a second later she turned swiftly pointing her sword at me. The golden Yato...given to the one who will bring peace to the lands.
I kissed my teeth in irritation. That's a lie. "Kyuma w-why!?"
"Kamui I'm going to kill you if you hesitate…" I pointed my sword at her as her eyes widened in shock then her brows furrowed eyes closed and trembling as if not knowing what to do.
But I already know where this is going. "Fine! If this is what you want! No more!" She reached to her shoulders and removed her cape. I slowly inhaled moving into my stance as I stood by watching as Kamui slowly stalked towards me.
The battle of course would start out slow. Feel in each other out as we shifted from Side to Side and circled each other.
…
…
I watched everything as she abruptly stole and I followed. "Take this!" She ran forward and twirled catching me off guard. I stepped back and suddenly switched to defend my left. Her sword hit mines I evaded to the left and she did the opposite.
I saw her dash forward with quick speed. She moved forward with me and I stabbed forward. It was an easy move to dodge she head her sword at her hip ready to bring it from the bottom up to hit me. I was however to quick for that and caught it with my sword. I made sure to get In her personal space as we locked swords I looked her directly in the eyes.
"Why!?" I yelled as I added more force to my blade and in return she did the same.
"Because You're a fool did you really think that I would let you decide by letting me pick first!?" I gritted my teeth as I pushed even harder she didn't budge.
She started to lose footing and I took advantage of that. "Kamui...don't give up now...you're the one to bring peace right! Right!" I echoed pushing her back even more.
Her eyes were closed in obvious pain as she struggled to hold me back. "You're a fool! Sister! A fool!" I echoed and with a cry of anger Kamui reared her head back.
And realization hit me to late as her head swung back hitting me square in the face. I stumbled back as I leaned on my sword holding on to my head.
It felt wet and I already knew from the dark red substance on my gloves that it was blood. "argh Kyuma!" And not given a second to breathe Kamui came running and tackled me.
The air was knocked out of me as we crashed on the ground. I couldn't even get to recover as I had to bring up my arms up to defend myself. A flurry of punches as they hit my arms.
"Then what was I supposed to do! Go back to Garon after he tried to assassinate me and you! I don't get it!" I yelled and grabbed her wrist just as she tries to punch me. I forced her to roll over but she used that moment to roll back and kick me off.
As I hit the ground frustrated and angry I slammed my fist on the ground yelling into the air. There was no mercy on the battlefield even if we are siblings. I punched her square in the face. She grabbed me by the hair and knees me in the stomach. I took it and I tackled her back to the ground as we fought and struggled against each other.
"War does not bring peace! I'm just trying to protect you! This path…" we rolled and I slammed her back against the ground. She struggled grabbing and pushing but it proved fruitless, "Would only bring the death of the ones we hold dear!" I grabbed her arms and put it above her head.
I looked her straight in the eye as we both breathed hard exhausted. "Truly you must see that." I whispered in a pleading tone." Her eyes started to fill with tears.
"Felicia, joker, Flora, Xander, Camilla, Leo, and...Elise." I then tightly shut my eyes my head shaking angrily at the pain. "What happen if you meet them on the battlefield huh? Will you kill them?!" Kamui tears started to get more frequent as she started to strongly heaving and trying to get free of my grip. "Answer me!"
"I won't!" She shot back. " I won't kill them no matter the circumstance! I'll spare them every one of the nohr siblings! I love them!" I chuckled and shook my head actually feeling sick to my stomach.
"No you don't." I shot back in a whisper. "Yes I do!" She denied as I stared and watched as she still struggled against my grip. "No. You. Don't!" At that I reared my head back and slammed it against her forehead as payback. However that left me dazed and I let go of one of her to clutch my aching head.
"Aah!" Kamui reached up and gave me a right hook right in the jaw sending me tumbling over to the side. She pounced on me a second later this time holding my arms in a vice grip leaving me practically immobile.
"Yes I do! We'll take them as prisoners and once the war is over i'll release them and they won't have no charges placed on them. My fight is with garon not them!"
"Then what!? If you win Nohr will be destroyed! They will have to build a struggling nation back from the ground up! You would do that to the people who took care of us when no other would! You're twisted kamui!" I spat in her face as she seem to seethe with even more anger.
"No matter which way you look at it you will have to kill someone you love because if you think Xander would just roll over and surrender-" Kamui cut me off giving a left hook to the jaw. "He will!" I reached up and grabbed her hand as she went in to punch at me once more.
"He won't! He would rather you cut him down but he has too much pride as the next king of Nohr and love for his home!" I reeled back place my two feet on her stomach before kicking her back.
I jumped up holding my side and coughing as Kamui did the same. "Hell he would cut you down if that meant protecting is home! You've seen how he didn't believe you when you spoke of his father!" I yelled adrenaline starting to kick in again. I ran over to shadorintingu and pulled him out of the ground. Kamui found her Yato and leaned on it holding her chest.
"So what am I supposed to do!" She slashed at the air with her sword. "He killed our mother big brother! She only ever wanted to live happily with her family in peace! We finally found our real family and he murdered her!" Tears started to fill my vision and I let them run down my face.
"So I see how it is...You're blinded by rage and revenge!" At that she yelled in the air and ran forward. I let her come and we clashed swords. Electricity and sparks were flying as we danced about each other bloodied and injured. Once again after a few strikes and swings we struggled against each other once more.
"I'm not the one who is blinded! It's you! You would rather return to Garon after what happened you could be labeled a traitor already, he would have you killed the moment you step foot in that castle! How twisted can you be!" We pushed off each other and swung against each other a couple more times before going back to our previous position.
"No sister unlike you I'm not making the wrong choice. You don't want to bring true peace...no." I pushed her off once more pushing her with my shoulder as I raised my sword and struck down right into her shoulder. But because of her fast think she was able to use that momentum to hit me in the same shoulder. "Argh!" I swallowed the pain as Kamui clutched one of her eyes shut in pain.
"You're doing both...bringing peace to one land, but destruction to the other. True peace is bringing good to all of the kingdom's not one!" We recoiled from each other holding our injured shoulders.
Be resolute in battle and don't waver use the pain to become stronger. I let go of my shoulder and held my sword in both hands. I tightened my hold on my sword and electricity roared from the dark blade.
Im going to end this. "Kamui...DON'T YOU DARE GIVE OUT ON ME!" Kamui eyes sharpened and she sheathed her sword. I watched her movements as she slowly reached into the fold of her armor. She pulled out a small pearl it's rainbow like characteristics dancing under the bask of sunlight.
…
A dragon stone.

"Kamui! Kyuma!" Azura came running out of breath her arms outstretched. "Don't do this!" her eyes were pleading and I growled in annoyance.
"Move Azura! This is between siblings!" Azura recoiled and opened her mouth but must have decided against it as she shut her mouth and looked at the ground.
"Azura...please move." I shut my eyes and hoped she would do so before my injuries forced me to surrender. I'll pass out at this rate and so will Kamui. The soldiers cries and the clashing of metal against steel started to get less abundant. I don't have much time left.
"Kyuma!" My eyes widened in mild surprise at the voice. I turned swiftly as the familiar maid outfit came into view. It wasn't the sister I was expecting...it was Flora. Felicia and joker following closely behind.
"Master Kyuma Mistress Kamui what is the meaning of this?" I hissed in pain and fell to one knee as the group came running over. I coughed and spat out a broken tooth. I looked swiftly over to Azura who yellow eyes were panicked as if she was making a crucial decision. Our eyes met and unconsciously I mouthed the words, "Help her."
Her eyes widened then but with a nod she turned swiftly and ran towards Kamui who was hanging on to her sword as she trembled against the ground.
"K-Kyuma! You're badly in-" I started to chuckle as Flora was interjected by the sound of that oh so familiar beast of hers.
"Kyuma!" The sound of flapping wings on my left made me want to run for my life at that moment but I knew i physically couldn't. "Kamui!" There came Hinoka flying over head.
I felt fingers grasp my chin and pull my face up. There was Camilla in all her beautiful glory but that face of grief and despair didn't suit her. She went to her pouch to find something but cursed. However Flora held out a white cloth making Camilla smile as she took it and started wiping the blood from my face. "Sorry…" Camilla recoiled and started to tear up. "Don't apologize."
"Flora take care of Kyuma I have to do something…" Camilla turned crouch and drew something off the ground it was her axe she had murder in her eyes as she turned. "Camilla stop!" I yelled hissing in pain to hold my shoulder.
"Don't fight them we have to retreat…" She was breathing hard looking at Hinoka who watched us closely.
"There will be no victory but defeat for both sides." Just as I say that Xander's voice booms into the sky.
"Nohr Retreat!"
Then Ryouma as well. "Hoshido pull back!"
Flora slings my arm around her shoulders and Camilla quickly run over to help me too. "Stop!" I growled and forced myself to stand straight once more turning back to Hinoka her naginata in hand.
My fingers were hovering off the handle of my blade. "Don't take another step forward…" I warned. Hinoka froze looking sorrowful and clutched something to her chest. Her face had betrayal etched over all of it and she looked away gritting her teeth as she tossed a small object towards me. I caught it and once inspected found it to be one of the stones I read about...a dragon stone no doubt.
I looked up at Hinoka to see her give me a half smile. "Goodbye brother." She whistled and ran as her pegasus came swooping down to catch her in her hop. I watched as she fled with the other remaining soldiers.
"Let's go we need to get you to miss Elise." Flora said turning me around and slinging my arm around her shoulder. It felt as if everything was slowing down. My eyes couldn't stay open as my boddy started to become loose and wobbily.
Everything went silent in that moment only the sound of my breathing and heartbeat.
A voice was it Camilla's? Xander? No not at all. Those voices sounded disembodied echoing in my ear. It was saying something...no repeating something. I was losing consciousness. The voices were becoming clearer and as I was forced to close my eyes.
"How was your second chance?"
