Chapter Twenty Five

Then my father says "Calliope Iphigenia Torres, do you care to explain yourself to your Madre and me and explain why this woman is kissing you"? As I look into Arizona's eyes I mouth the words" My Parents" as I turn in her arms to face the two of them. I clear my throat and say "Mama, Papa this is Arizona Robbins. This is who I am dating now. No I'm sorry, this is who I am in love with". Carlos and Lucia look at each other and then back at Arizona and me, they both smile and my father says "It is so nice to meet you, Arizona" and Lucia finishes "Calliope has simply not told us a thing about you". They both come across the room to hug and kiss and welcome Arizona with open arms. I stand back and watch this spectacle and I am dumbfounded as I say "Mama, Papa you are both alright with this…this…me being in love with a woman"? My father says "Calliope, please give your mother and I some credit. Besides, it was your sister Aria that told us about you so many years ago. May she rest in peace. We were just waiting for you to realize this for yourself. We were really doubtful when you married George but you have seemed to have found your one true love." And then my mother comes up to stand in front of me as she says "Your Papa and I can tell by the way you look at Arizona. You are so in love, our beautiful daughter". My mother gives me a hug and I see Arizona standing behind her as my Papa gives her a hug and we mouth "I love you" to each other.

Just as Arizona and I are about to retreat to our bedroom to get dressed we hear a knock at the door. I answer the door and the catering service that I have hired for tonight's festivities is here. I take them into the kitchen and show them where they can set up as I grab Arizona's hand and excuse ourselves so that we may shower and get dressed for our little soiree tonight. I ask my mama if she would keep an eye on the catering staff and answer to door if anyone knocks. Both my parents say they will take care of everything as I go in search of Arizona. I walk into the bathroom that is full of steam from the shower that Arizona has begun to partake in when I step into the shower and wrap my arms around her smaller frame she eases back into my embrace and says "Hey there baby". I begin to kiss her neck and caress her boobs as I whisper in her ear "Baby, you have such great boobs" as Arizona moans and turns to face me "Oh Calliope I love when you touch me but baby we are about to have a houseful of guests arriving soon and besides your parents are right out side our bedroom door. I release the hold I have on my girlfriend and say "Alright Arizona, no more trying to have my way with you in the shower. I can wait until this evening is over but the real question is…can you"?

I turn my back to her and begin to finish my shower not paying attention to her at all. I bend over slightly to shave my legs and my butt grazes hers as she is trying to keep her distance from me. I then reach for the shampoo to wash my hair and brush my forearm against her breast creating her nipple to harden at my touch. She then turns to rinse her hair under the shower head, heaving her chest at me as I bend forward to brush my face down her chest licking the valley between her boobs as she cries "Calliope no fair". I just smile a very mischievous smile at her as I turn my back to her as I then place my head under to shower head to rinse off my hair. I toss my hair from side to side as my raven locks brush Arizona's chest and across her very nice boobs. Then Arizona turns off the water and tries to pass me muttering "So not fair". I grab her forearm pulling her into me as I kiss her lips as my tongue demands entrance into her beautiful mouth as she backs my up against the shower wall. "Calliope, you need to play fair". I grab her thighs and lift her in the air trailing kisses down her neck as she squeezes my head deeper into her chest and then she wraps her legs around my waist and says "What am I going to do with you, my Calliope".

I carry her to bed lying her down and whisper "You need to be real quiet Arizona because I am going to make love to you with my parents in the next room". Then I disappear as I kneel in front of my very hot girlfriend and take her in my mouth licking her folds as I suck and nibble on her clit. She begins to moan and thrashing her hips all about as she places a pillow over her face to muffle the sounds of her screaming my name over and over. As we both finish getting ready we hear my parents talking with what sounds like Arizona's parents as I look at Arizona and say "Babe, did I just hear your mother's southern twang voice"? Arizona walks across the bedroom saying "I don't think so, they did not say anything about coming here for Christmas". Arizona reaches the bedroom door and swings it open to reveal that I was right when I thought I heard Barbara Robbins voice. "Mom, Dad what are you both doing here"? Arizona asks as Daniel answers his daughter's question "Well my dear, we did not want for you to spend your first Christmas in a new city all alone. But from the looks of it I guess your mother and I were wrong. You have made friends and we are sorry that we interrupted your holiday plans". "You haven't interrupted our holiday plans, Daddy. I see you both have met Calliope's parents. They came to Seattle to surprise her too for the holidays. Why don't you all talk amongst yourselves while Calliope and I check on things with the caterer's" Arizona says to her parents. There is a knock at the door as my father moves toward the door to answer it. He introduces himself the visitors and invites them in. Then my father and Arizona's father take turns answering the door and introducing themselves as they invite all of our guests inside. The food and the alcoholic beverages are flowing and everyone is mingling and having a good time when I notice that Arizona is nowhere to be found. I am intrigued by this and go in search of her. When I hear voices coming from outside the back door, I make my way out there to see what the chatter is all about. I see my girlfriend and my father talking and I see Arizona smoking as I say "Arizona".

I have left my gorgeous girlfriend in my apartment practically naked to run off to the hospital because I am on call until this afternoon, I think to myself as I ride down the elevator to run out into the pouring rain to help with the aftermath of an MVA. When I arrive to the emergency room at Seattle Grace, chaos has ensued. I find Owen and Derek handling multiple victims as I literally run into Karev as he drags me to Trauma Room Two. In there is a ten year old boy that has been crushed by the front seat of his family's car as it was involved in a six car pile up on I-90. Teddy Altman, the new head of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery has her hands deep inside the child's chest massaging his heart as the monitors are beeping and showing that the child has no heartbeat. Teddy jumps onto the gurney and starts screaming at Karev and me to get her to an OR and fast. After six hours of surgery, Teddy, Karev and I save the little boy's life. Once we are all three in the scrub room washing up after surgery, I introduce myself. Teddy and I talk for a while and I ask her if she has any plans for this evening and when she says no so I invite her to my apartment for a little get-together with some of the hospital staff. I write down the directions to my apartment and give it to Teddy and tell her I will see her later. She nods and says that she will be there but she just wants to check on her patient first.

I run to my apartment hoping that I am not too late. When I enter the apartment I yell out to Calliope but I receive no response. I call out again and I see her coming out of the den and she is asking me why I did not answer my phone because she has been calling all afternoon. I tell her that I left my phone her after our morning lovemaking as I take her in my arms and begin kissing her sweet lips. I get carried away again with kissing her that I do not even hear her try to tell me something. When Calliope breaks the kiss and pushes me away a bit, I hear a man's voice asking a question and then I see Calliope mouth the words "my parents" as she turns in my arms and tells her parents who I am. I listen to her explain to her parents that we are dating and that she loves me, I almost begin to cry right then and there but then I realize that she has just come out to her parents. Then when her grip on me becomes tighter, I stand firm with my girlfriend waiting for any kind of wrath that may come our way from her parents. Then I see them both smile and walk towards the two of us hugging and kissing us I am taken back to the day that I came out to my parents. Although the only difference was that my parents did not hug or kiss me, they just said they understood. Then about an hour later, my father asked me a question in my mother's presence. I thought to myself, after he had time to think about what I just told him about me being a lesbian that he was going to ask me to leave their home. But I underestimated my father and his love for me when he asked "Are you still who I raised you to be" and I replied "Yes father, I am" and he says "Alright then" and then he and my mother hugged me.

I am brought back from my thoughts to the present as I feel Calliope pulling me into our bedroom so we may get ourselves presentable for our guests. I begin to shower as Calliope joins me but begins to get frisky as I try to tell her that we have the rest of the night for ourselves but that we need to focus on not getting busy with other thoughts of enjoying ourselves with her parents in the next room. As hard as I try to remain focused and not let Calliope have her way with me it is hard to take a shower with her and not throw her up against the shower wall and just fuck her. She is really making it difficult though with her lightly brushing up against me and tossing her wet hair across my chest. I turn off the water and try to exit the shower and that seems to fuel her on even more. She carries me to our bed and goes down on me making me scream so loud that I have to cover my face with a pillow just so the people in my apartment do not hear me scream. Calliope ascends back up my body as I place a very sexy kiss on her lips and swallow her tongue, tasting myself on her, so that she knows that I enjoyed myself just now. Then as we both are finishing getting ready Calliope says that she thought she heard my mother's voice. I open the bedroom door and sure enough standing in my living room was my mother and my father introducing themselves to Calliope's parents. The two of us walk out together as we say hello to my parents and ask them what they are doing here. My father talks about how he and my mother did not want me to spend Christmas in a new city by myself. He did not realize that I was throwing a party for some people I work with at the hospital. When he suggests that he and my mother leave and come back tomorrow I ask them both to stay and meet our friends.

Teddy and I decide to go out onto my back porch area to get some fresh air when we see that Carlos has found a spot to smoke a cigar. He apologizes for his indulgence and begins to extinguish his cigar when both Teddy and I tell him it is alright. While the three of us stand on the back porch and inhale the inviting aroma, I ask him if I may join him in the smoking of one of his cigars. He then takes his cigar wallet out of his breast pocket of his jacket and offers both Teddy and I a cigar. He then shows each of us how to use the tip cutter to snip off the tip of the cigar and then he shows us how to smoke a cigar. He makes sure that he tells us never to inhale but to keep the smoke in our mouths to feel the full effect of how a cigar tastes. The three of us talk about different things while enjoying our cigars as the snow begins to fall lightly to the ground and Teddy is overwhelmed with the snowflakes since she has been over in Iraq for the last four years.

We are just about to finish our cigars when I hear the back door open and the three of us hear a very familiar voice say "Arizona". Teddy and Carlos make a quick getaway and retreat back into the house, I am left standing there with Calliope. I try to put on my best pick up line when I say to her "Fancy meeting you here, baby" as she is in no mood when she catches me smoking. "Arizona, you smoke"? My girlfriend questions me as I say "Only when I am stressed and I know that I am in trouble…like now". I move closer to her but Calliope backs up a bit holding her hands out to stop me but I continue on through her hands as I wrap my arms around her and begin kissing her neck saying "I'm sorry baby but when Teddy and I came out here and your father was smoking his cigar. I guess I just got caught up in the moment because I had never smoked a cigar before and he made it look so easy and natural". Calliope takes off her jacket that she put on herself when she started searching for me and says "Arizona, you are going to catch your death from a cold. Now let's go back inside and entertain our guests and we will talk about this sudden interest in you smoking cigars later". I go to kiss my girlfriend she stops me cold and says "Baby, you have got to brush your teeth first and lose the cigar tasting breath" while we walk back into the apartment.

Just before midnight Karev begins to hand everyone a holiday popper and tells us not to open it until midnight. With the music from Charlie Brown's Christmas playing in the background, everyone begins to count down before the stroke of midnight. At the stroke of midnight everyone screams MERRY CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN and sets off their poppers that stream confetti all over the apartment. With the theme from Charlie Brown's Christmas "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" playing in the background everyone goes around the room hugging and kissing each other wishing each other a Merry Christmas. People begin to dwindle down as folks begin leaving and both sets of our parents share a cab back to their respectable hotels telling Arizona and I that they will see us in the morning. The four of them decide that we will all spend Christmas morning at Arizona's apartment since this is where they will fine the two of us in a few hours anyway. We both say yes to them and kiss them goodnight. When some of our friends stay to help clean up so that Arizona and I will be ready when our parents come a knocking in the morning. It is just before three am when Arizona and I finally start to undress and climb into bed. With the two of us easing into each others arms as we find our favorite spot in the middle of the bed and whisper to each other, me going first "I have been waiting for this moment together all day, Arizona. Just you and me and about five hours of sleep before our parents come back for a visit. I love you, Arizona".

Arizona snuggles even more into me she says "I never thought this night would end so we both could get to this point. I love you too, Calliope" We fall asleep immediately into each others arms. About seven thirty I wake up to use the facilities, when I arrive back to bed I try to slip back in under Arizona's body but I am instantly tugged back into the bed with Arizona softly saying "Missing you, baby" as I smile and say "Hey beautiful you, wake up and Merry Christmas. Arizona, this is our first Christmas together, honey wake up. I have your Christmas present and I want to give it to you before our parents return this morning. Baby, are you awake"? Arizona jumps up in the bed as she sleepily says "Did I hear you say that you have a present for me, my love"? I smile again and sit up in the bed too and say "Merry Christmas Arizona" as I hand her Christmas present. As she begins to open her present, Arizona begins to cry at the sight of her present. When she takes the necklace out of the box, she opens the locket to find a picture of the two of us after our first date on one side and the inscription on the other that simply says "Our first Christmas, I love you, Calliope".

Her hands begin to shake as she tries to unhook the latch to the necklace and then finally hands it to me to undo it for her. She turns her back to me as she pulls her hair up so I may place the locket around her neck. She opens the locket again to read the inscription as she turns to face me planting the most wonderful kiss on my lips. With her enthusiasm propelling me backwards on the bed as Arizona falls on top of me, in appreciation of the Christmas gift she has just received. Then she peppers my face with kisses and tells me that she loves me in between each kiss, Arizona then bolts out of the bed and makes a run for it into the living room only to return and jumping back onto the bed with a bag with a Christmas present of my own. With Arizona acting like a child on Christmas morning with the clapping of her hands and telling me to "Open it, Calliope, open it", I open my present and I too begin to shed some tears as I say "Oh Arizona, this is beautiful". I open the Cartier's box to see the most beautiful watch I have ever seen. With a silver platinum watchband with the watch face surrounded with six red rubies with six blue sapphires, one after the other, representing each hour. I remove the watchband from the box and Arizona begins to speak as she reaches for the watch to place it on my wrist "You see Calliope, the red rubies represent your Latin heritage and the blue sapphires represent my ocean blue eyes and together they make the perfect match and like the two of us…they are inseparable". After Arizona places the watch around my wrist, I take her face in my hands as I kiss her with all the passion I have to give. Just as Arizona and I begin to take this morning to the next level, we hear a knock at the door as we both groan and go to answer the door knowing what is on the other side.

I open the door as both Calliope and I say "Merry Christmas" to both sets of our parents as they enter the apartment with both of our father's hands full of presents and our mother's hands full of grocery bags. "Calliope, did you know that Arizona's parents have never had a truly Mexican Christmas breakfast"? Lucia Torres asks her daughter as she makes her way to the kitchen as Calliope replies "No, mother I did not know that fact". Then my mother says "Well sweetie, Daniel and I have not ever had a breakfast like your mother has described on the way over here in the cab we shared. So why don't the two of you go and get dressed while Lucia and I prepare this delicious breakfast then we can open presents". We begin to retreat back where Calliope and I first started this morning with me saying "Yes mama, we will be back shortly". Calliope and I back away from our mother's and re-enter the bedroom and then the bathroom to take a shower together. After relieving ourselves with a bit of quickie shower sex on our first Christmas together, Calliope and I get dressed and are sitting at the breakfast table eating the most scrumptious Mexican Christmas breakfast, that Calliope whispers out loud "I have so missed this type of breakfast since moving to Seattle", that we listen to the banter between our parents about past Christmas mornings when both Calliope and I were children.

The rest of Christmas morning is being filled with the opening of our presents from Calliope's parents, since we already opened presents with my parents over Thanksgiving and Calliope shipped her parent's presents to Miami. The conversations about our life in Seattle, watching of the basketball game between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics and helping with the preparing of Christmas dinner, the six of us sit down to consume our first Christmas dinner as a couple, and with both sets of parent's blessing. After Lucia says grace, my father stands to propose a toast. "To my beautiful daughter Arizona and to her beautiful girlfriend Callie, here is to the both of you and to hoping that there are a lifetime of celebrating Christmas mornings together" as a round of "Here, Here" is says by all. After we all finish dinner and clean up the dishes and the kitchen, the six of us sit down together for a glass of wine and to say our goodbyes. With our parents leaving my apartment to their awaiting cab that will take them to the airport, both Calliope and I wish them well on their journey home. Calliope begins to gather the wine glasses and dispose of them in the kitchen sink when I walk up behind her and encircle her waist with my arms to say "Well my love, we made it through our first Christmas together with all the surprises". Calliope turns in my arms to say "Yes darling, but I have one left for you but it is in the bedroom".
