So Ussop from One Piece is apparently a god now, so that happened. Also I think I'm gonna rewrite the first chapter of this story, when I originally wrote it I didn't really know how I wanted Fide to be and when I reread it yesterday I cringed at just how out of character he was. Also the new RWBY was so beautiful I might cry, probably not because of my ridiculous levels of manliness but still. Enjoy.
Fidelis stared up at the holoscreen in the locker room watching the fight between Neo, Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury, and the team from Haven. Though his attention was of course on his girlfriend. He watched as she stood over one of the members of the enemy team before stomping his face into the ground, all while wearing a gothic lolita outfit and pigtails. "I don't think I've ever been so turned on in my life." He said watching the match.
"I can't believe I actually let you convince me to do this with you." Kain said as he adjusted his tie. After there conversation on the roof two weeks ago, Kain and Fidelis had spoken a few more times and came to an agreement. Until Kain is ready to challenge and defeat Fidelis, they would maintain a very neutral relationship.
Fidelis smiled and turned to look at the other three people in the room with him, all of which were wearing the Nobody uniform, a black suit, fedora, tinted black glasses, and dress shoes, the Nobody symbol was stitched into the backs of each suit. Clef and Fidelis were the only ones with a alterations to the uniform and that was Clef's usual oversized hat and Fidelis's bandanna covering his face from the nose down. "It really wasn't that hard, all I had to say was that you may get the chance to face your girlfriends team at some point."
"Oh yeah." He nodded, he and Ruby had officially begun dating about a week ago and so far it was going great. He even met her father, which went well other than the part were he threatened to rip Kain's nuts off and choke with them if he hurt his little girl.
"But why am I here sir?" Jin asked Fidelis while looking nervous as he also watched the screen, it was very clear that he was outclassed by these fighters.
"Because we needed a forth member and your the first I saw after entering the base." He put bluntly causing him to gulp slightly. "Ah calm down Jin, just stand back while we take care of them. You'll be fine." He said not doing much to reassure the recruit.
"And the next match up will be Team Nobody, against team STEL!" Professor Port yelled into his microphone.
"Thats us!" Fidelis shouted as he made his way out of the locker room followed by the rest of the team, Jin reluctantly being dragged by Clef.
In the ring
Fidelis stood in front of his team and looked around at all the people in the crowd, there were thousands of them. "Damn thats a lot of people." He muttered to himself.
"This is also being broadcast across the world." Kain said as he inspected his weapons.
"Lets be sure to put on a good show then." Fidelis then turned to look at the apposing team. He pointed to a tall bald boy with a very large sword leaning on his shoulder, and then to a girl holding a spear with the Vacuo flag attached to it. "I'll take these two myself, Clef you take that one." He said pointing to a guy holding a pair of assault rifles and had grenades across his chest. "And you take him Kain." He pointed to the last person on the end who had a single katana hanging from his waist. "Jin, you stand back and help Kain by taking potshots at sword boy whenever possible. None of you had better interfere with my fight or I'll cut you down as well, got it?"
"Roger boss."
"Whatever."
"Yes sir!"
"Good." He smiled at this.
"You think you can handle two of us at once? Your pretty cocky for an animal." The one with the large sword said referring to Fidelis's ear which were popping out the top of his hat.
"Actually I'm sure I could take your whole damn team, but then my boys here would get bored." He said laughing as the holoscreen changed to show what types of fields they'd be fighting in. The first was what looked like a city, when it raised up it was shown to be a large abandoned looking city. The other side was shown to be a desert, it rose to shown large sand dunes.
"3,2,1, BEGIN!"
Fidelis was the first to move as he charged forward with staggering speed and grabbed the girl he pointed out by the face and violently tossed her towards the dunes, using his wind to make her fly all the way into one of them. He then turned and gave a grin towards the other one he pointed out. "Come on, lets play!" He shouted as he bolted off towards the spot the girl had landed.
The boy with the sword ran after him as his other two teammates went to help the girl but were stopped by Clef and Kain. "Sorry but that asshole was right, we'll get bored if he gets all the attention." Kain said cutting them off and pointed his two knives which were in gun form at the boy with the katana.
"The boss man requested a solo bout with your comrades. Please respect that request." Clef said pulling a double barreled sawed off shotgun from his jacket.
With Fidelis
Teal picked herself up out of the sand and raised her spear, she saw Fidelis running her way with Sai right behind him. She pointed the tip of her spear at the faunus and began firing shots at him from the rifle inside the weapon. Fidelis quickly pulled his Gunbai off his back and held it in front of him letting the shots bounce off the reinforced fan. He jumped into the air using his semblance to boost the height of the jump until he was above Teal.
As he fell towards her he brought his gunbai down towards her with all his strength. She raised her spear to block the blow but wasn't able to hold off against the power behind the attack. She was knocked off her feet and landed on her back as she slid down the back side of the dune.
Fidelis turned on his heels and raised his gunbai just in time to block a powerful swing from Sai. Unlike Teal Fidelis was able to handle the attack and pushed the boy back and swing his fan towards the ground knocking up a large cloud of sand with a gust of wind. Sai blinded by the sand had to cover his eyes to prevent sand from getting in them. This left him wide open when Fidelis slammed the edge of his gunbai into the side of his head sending him to the ground. Fidelis was going to continue the attack when he felt something hit his aura and turned around to see Teal up again pointing her spear at Fidelis.
She began making several thrusts at him though not as accurately as she hoped due to the sand in the air. "Your with the criminal group Nobody correct?"
Fidelis smiled at hearing the 'group part'. While he was the only actual member of Nobody sense he just made the group up to begin with, he guess technically they were a group now. "Possibly, or I might just like their style." He responded vaguely as he stepped forward swatting away her attacks.
"Regardless I refuse to lose to someone who looks up to a criminal!" She shouted as she began spinning her spear in circles. Fidelis was laughing at what she sense he actually was a big time criminal.
Fidelis noticed fire forming on the ends of her spear and new that was probably a bad thing. After a few more seconds she swung the spear towards him sending a large wave of fire towards him. Fidelis jumped back a few steps and noticed Sai picking himself up. Fidelis grabbed the racist and lifted him to his feet before placing him in between himself and the wave of fire, basically turning him into a human shield.
Sai shouted curses as the fire washed over him unable to do anything with Fidelis holding onto him tightly. Once the fire dissipated Fidelis let go of the boy and let him fall again and tumble down to the bottom of the dunes.
"And Sai Corvisate is out of the match with his aura falling into the red. That was a devious move by Nobody, using his opponent as a shield against an attack, but effective none the less." Port shouted from the announcers booth as people cheered.
"Indeed it was Peter. While I can't say I'm a fan of such tactics I will commend a willingness to fight somewhat dirty if one feels the need." Oobleck said at lightning speed.
"Now its just us girly." Fidelis said pointing his gunbai at Teal.
With Kain
Kain fired off a few rounds as he jumped backwards away from Enet. Currently he and Jin were both doing their best to keep some distance between them and him. Kain was panting lightly sense he'd been going in and out of clashes with this guy and was mostly on the defensive. Kain was skilled but he was only a third year from Signal academy, while these guys were second years from Shade academy. They were older and more experienced.
"And Sai Corvisate is out of the match with his aura falling into the red." He heard the announcer. Both he and Enet looked up at the holoscreen and saw the Sai was indeed down, while Teal was just above half. Fidelis on the other hand was nearly full with ninety percent of his aura remaining.
Kain was in slight awe at the sight. Here he was having this much difficulty with one of them while he had Jin giving him covering fire when ever he needed, while Fidelis was wiping the floor with two of them on his own. "Are we really that far apart?" He mumbled turning back to his opponent.
"What just happened!" Port shouted over the mic. "Ling from Shade Academy is also down, though how it happened is unclear. He and the Nobody with the large hat entered one of the buildings out of sight of our cameras and Ling's aura dropped from full to the red almost instantly!" He shouted the explanation into the mic.
"I am just as perplexed as you Peter. However whatever he did was well within the rules as none of the sensors we use to prevent cheating were set off." Oobleck added.
"Two of my teammates have fallen." Enet said as he dropped into another stance while holding his blade with both hands. I can no longer afford to go easy on you." He said getting ready to attack.
Before he did so however there was a quick strum of a guitar. "Hello children." Clef said from atop a nearby building with a guitar in hand. "Do you need any assistance?" He asked Kain who looked at Enet who was now in a more defensive stance.
"No, leave him to me." Kain answered refusing to appear weak enough to need to go three against one opponent, the only real reason he was cool with Jin's help was because their enemy outclassed both of them, which left it slightly more even. However if what Clef had done to his opponent was anything to go by then it was clear he was far stronger than Kain originally thought. This left the scales to unbalanced for Kain's taste.
"Jin, try and get behind him while I engage. Fire whenever you can, but don't hit me." He shouted to his unofficial partner.
"Got it." Jin responded as he reloaded his standard issue assault rifle.
Clef just began strumming away on his guitar as Kain and Enet clashed again.
Back with Fidelis
Sand was everywhere as Fidelis and Teal continued to clash over and over amidst the sand dunes, knocking up clouds of sand with the force of every attack. Teal had activated her semblance a little earlier in their fight and was still on the defensive. Her semblance allowed her to reading and predict the movements of her enemy based off their aura fluctuation however even though she knew what Fidelis was going to do she was still having a large amount of difficulty doing anything about the attacks.
Fidelis on the other hand was having a good deal of fun with this fight even if it wasn't quite as difficult as he hoped, but figured that would come later on in the tournament. Fidelis cocked his gauntleted arm back and created a vacuum around it before throwing a punch towards Teals face. Teal saw the punch coming and leaned backwards less than an inch out of his reach, however she didn't know about the vacuum he created and wasn't ready for the blast from when he released it.
She took the miniature explosion directly to the face sending her flying backwards. Fidelis grabbed her ankle and pulled her back towards him. "This is it kiddo, heres where you go down." He said as he swung the edge of his gunbai downwards making direct contact with her chest. The blow had enough force to send her to the ground knocking up another very large cloud of sand.
"And now Teal has fallen!" Peter shouted again into the mic, though Fidelis wasn't listening. Instead he made his way over to where Kain was fighting Enet. He took a quick glance at the scoreboard and their aura bars. Teal, Sai and Ling were all out of the match, Enet was at sixty five percent aura. Clef was still at a full hundred percent, Fidelis was now at eighty percent. Jin was just above red and Kain was a bit higher than him.
No doubt Kain had been doing all the heavy lifting though. When Fidelis arrived he found Enet had the two on the defensive but broke away when he saw Fidelis arrive.
Enet looked at Fidelis and then at Clef. Finally his eyes went to the scoreboard before falling back to Kain.
"So kid, how do you want to do this?" Fidelis asked leaning against a wall.
Enet was quiet for a moment before letting out a sigh and sheathing his blade. "Even if I defeat these two I doubt I'll be able to handle either of you by myself." He said referring to Fidelis and Clef. "I am aware when I'm beaten. I yield." He said raising his hands in surrender.
"And it all over! Enet from team STEL has forfeit giving team Nobady the win!" As he said this medical teams walked onto the field and retrieved the fallen members of team STEL. "Now that was quite the match and well fought on both sides." Peter and Oobleck began talking about the match as Fidelis and his team exited the field. As they were leaving he noticed a couple signs being held up in the crowd with words like 'NOBODY RULE' or 'GO NOBODY'. This made him chuckle.
Once they entered the tunnel to exit the arena he noticed Neo leaning against the wall wearing her disguise still. He walked up to her and quickly placed a kiss on her lips. "I got to say, this look suits you. And the pigtails." He said laughing.
Neo just grinned and flipped through several handsigns. 'I can say the same about you in a suit.' She then pulled him into another kiss.
"Get a room you two." Kain said walking by the two making out.
"Don't be jealous you and Ruby ain't at this level yet." Fidelis said chuckling.
Kain just raised his hand into the air with his middle finger up and kept walking.
And there my first chapter for the tournament. I really hope ya'll enjoy it, I couldn't figure out who to have as the fourth member of the team until I remembered Jin and thought it would be funny to drag him into this. Anyway leave me a review and tell me what you think. LATER.
