A/N: Thanks for all the lovely reviews last chapter! I am so blessed to have such great readers! Anyway, this chapter is really short, but I had a lot to write after I posted yesterday. So, yeah. The next chapter might take longer but you never know.
Disclaimer: What do you think? Of course I don't own!
Hermione felt empty and upset for at least a week. Morning sickness had come back to bite her, so she found herself puking quite a lot. She hadn't taken up the offer of staying at the Burrow yet, probably because she was too proud. She didn't want them to see that she could hardly survive without crying for Draco.
But it was true. She did cry a lot. Griffin was very sympathetic and hardly made trouble about the house. He had his own playspace in the attic, where he spent most of his time.
Hermione, to distract herself, devoted a lot of time to shopping for the new house. She never imagined having so much money to use, but since Draco had inherited most of the Black and Malfoy money, there was a lot to spend.
In that first week, the whole first floor was furnished, painted and perfected.
In addition to making her home how she wanted it, she took up a lot of reading, like her old self would've done. She read all the books she had three times each, absorbing each word hungrily. She made many trips to Florish and Blott's, a place where she was expected regularly.
After a week of her insane habits, Hermione received a letter from Ginny.
Dear Hermione,
I cannot believe you. You are one of the strongest, powerful woman I know. People like you shouldn't spend time curled in a ball reading pointless wizarding history all day! You're being ridiculous. Come over to the Burrow immediately. Mum has been worried sick about you. Bring your things.
Your Sort Of Sister,
Ginerva
Hermione smiled at Ginny's comforting letter.
Quickly, she packed her few belongings, including a box filled with the letters she had already received from Draco. She Apparated into the kitchen of the Burrow.
It was quite a sight. Ginny and Harry seemed to be in a mild argument. Hermione heard bits of Ginny's outbursts like, "I'm carrying it, not you" and "Shut up". George seemed to be testing out a new product, as his hair kept changing colors. Percy was looking angry as he was shuffling papers at the table. Bill was calmly talking to Fleur on the couch. Ron and Lavender were heatedly discussing something with Mrs. Weasley, while Mr. Weasley was sitting across from Percy, tapping a rubber mallet on a rubber duck. Charlie was walking around seemingly carrying a rather large egg.
"Welcome home." Hermione said softly, smiling.
George, who was currently sporting purple hair, noticed her first. "Hermione!" he cried.
Mrs. Weasley spun around and a smile appeared on her face. "Hermione, dear!" Mrs. Weasley shrieked, shuffling over to give her a large hug.
"Hello, Mrs. Weasley!" Hermione said cheerfully.
"How many times have I told you to call me Molly?" Mrs. Weasley smiled. "You must be starving! I'll whip up something!" She eagerly headed towards the kitchen and began to do her fabulous cooking.
"Sorry you had to walk in on that." Ginny laughed, coming over to her. Harry followed.
"Ginny is just upset because I didn't want to shop for baby clothes alone." Harry chirped.
Ginny turned to Harry. "Don't be a baby about it."
"What if I choose awful clothes you hate?"
"I don't care!" she exclaimed. "I trust your judgement!"
"Thanks." Harry blushed.
"Glad that's resolved." Hermione said.
"Pregnant women are scary." Harry sighed.
Hermione and Ginny shot him a look.
"Sorry." he muttered.
"Well, let me help you with your bag." Ginny said, grabbing Hermione's bag and going upstairs and Hermione followed.
"So, it's a bit chaotic here." Ginny explained. "Mum's insisted that everyone stay here this summer. You'll be rooming alone, if you don't mind. Harry and I are in my room, Ron and Lavender are in Ron's room, Percy and Charlie are in the same room, Bill and Fleur are in Bill's old room and George in Fred and George's room."
"I never got around to asking about Charlie, Percy or George. Where are their spouses?" Hermione replied.
"Charlie became a citizen of Romania and doesn't have to follow Ministry of Magic rules. He says he'll find love on his own time. Percy was very disturbed by the idea of a marriage law at first. He protested against the Ministry, his employer, and surprisingly, they let him wait to be married. We don't even know who he'll be married to yet, but it's happening soon. George, since he doesn't go to Hogwarts, did not have the deadlines we did, so he's taking things slow with Angelina Johnson. She was Fred's date to the Yule Ball after all."
"Oh." Hermione said. "When was the rest of the world's deadline for marriage?"
"This December." Ginny shrugged.
"Cool."
"Mum'll have dinner ready soon. I don't suppose you want to join the mess downstairs, do you?"
"I think I'll write Draco now." Hermione smiled. "Thanks for everything, Gin."
"No problem. We're your family, did you think we were going to let you be miserable all summer?"
"Why did I ever doubt you?" Hermione laughed.
Ginny grinned, then left the room. Hermione immediately began her letter to Draco.
Dear Draco,
I have finally decided to stop moping, reading and decorating, in exchange for a visit the Weasley's. I will probably be staying here for a while, so make sure to send your owls here. I am missing you dearly and I hope you're enjoying your training.
Love,
Hermione.
She sent it off using Pig, who came back immediately with a reply.
Dear Hermione,
First of all, don't use that bloody bird again. Second, I'm happy to know that you're not in deep depression anymore. Your letters were honestly very sad. Healing is okay, a great profession that I'm happy to pursue, but my heart is longing for you. I miss you so very much.
Love,
Draco
She smiled before heading down to dinner.
Later that night, after practically a feast, Hermione fell asleep feeling loved and cared for, happy she had a home and people to always be there for her.
A/N: Sorry about the last sentence. It's not like she's mad at Draco or anything. She's just happy to have the Weasley's always there for her, no matter what. Please review!
