Chapter 25

Weeks later, Austin came home from the hospital. He had to get stitches in his stomache because of that stab wound. 2 weeks later, Makayla went out to hang with her friends. Then later she came home and went to her room to watch some tv. Then in the middle of the night when the others were still sleeping, Makayla heard a noise downstairs. She grabbed her baseball bat that her best friend Morgan gave her and quietly walked down the stairs holding the bat up in the air. Once she got to the bottom of the stairs, Makayla walked quietly toward the entrance of the lair. Once she was close enough, she swung the bat striking whoever it was in the head. Makayla heard a familiar voice, turned the light on and gasped at who she saw. There laying on the floor in front of her was Master Splinter. Makayla felt so guilty that she felt like crying. She couldn't believe what she had done. She hurt her father with a baseball bat.

Makayla cried, " Oh my god sensei I'm so sorry!"

Master Splinter said, " That is quite alright my daughter."

Makayla cried, " No it's not! I hurt you!"

Master Splinter said, " Makayla what you did was an accident. You didn't mean to do it."

Makayla cried, " No I didn't mean to."

Master Splinter said, " It's okay my daughter. I'm not mad at you."

Makayla says, " Where were you?"

Master Splinter said, " I was coming home from Miss O'neal's."

Makayla says, " Sensei, do you think I'm a terrible daughter for hitting you in the head with a baseball bat?"

Master Splinter laughed and said, " No of course not. But what I'm going to ask is where did you get it?"

Makayla says, " My best friend Morgan. She gave it to me for self defense."

Master Splinter says, " And where did Morgan get it?"

Makayla says, " It was her dad's old one. He didn't need it anymore so she gave it to me."

Master Splinter says, " Where did her father get it?"

Makayla says, " Sensei I really don't want to play 20 questions. It's late."

Master Splinter smiles and says, " Okay good night my daughter."

Makayla smiles and says, " Good night sensei." Master Splinter walked to his room and went to bed. Makayla carried her bat upstairs and went back to bed. Klunk pushed the door open with nose and let himself in. He climbed up on the bed, curled up under Makayla's arm and purred. Makayla smiled in her sleep. But then she began having a nightmare. In her dream, she saw herself sleeping in bed, Swindle and his henchmen come in, grab her as she's screaming in terror, drag her out to the van and she saw her friend Demeatra screaming in terror. Makayla jolted awake in her bed, breathed heavily and looked around her room. There was nobody there. So she fell back asleep. The nightmare continued and this time Makayla woke up screaming. This alerted her brothers and they came running into her room. They had their weapons out just in case there was someone in there trying to hurt their sister but when there was no one there besides their sister, Leonardo says, " Guys there's no one here." They put their weapons away.

Raphael says, " Makayla are ya okay?" Makayla says nothing and continues to breathe heavily.

Leonardo says, " Makayla what happened?"

Makayla sighed and said, " I just had a really bad dream."

Leonardo says, " Was it the Icarly one again?"

Makayla says, " No this one was way worse."

Michelangelo says, " What was it?"

Makayla says, " It was about Swindle."

Donatello says, " What happened in your dream?"

Makayla says, " I was sleeping and Swindle and his henchmen come into my room. I woke up screaming and they take me. They take me out to that same black van and when I got there, I saw my friend Demeatra. She was screaming in terror because she wanted someone to come save her but she realized that I couldn't help her because I've been kidnapped too. Swindle was driving the van and on the way to Swindle's mansion, Swindle lost control of the van, it went down a hill and crashed into a ravine. I was okay but my friend Demeatra was dead. I started crying and Swindle blamed me for making him crash the van and for my friend's death."

Leonardo shockingly says, " That's horrible Makayla!"

Makayla cried, " I know Leo which is why I'm afraid! I don't want it to become a reality!"

Leonardo says, " It's okay Makayla. It's just a dream. It won't happen."

Makayla cried, " But what if it does?!"

Leonardo says, " Trust me Makayla it won't happen because we won't let it happen."

Makayla says, " Really?"

Raphael says, " Yeah cuz if they do, I'll just give 'em a knucklesandwich."

Makayla says, " Thanks bros." Then 2 weeks later, Makayla and her friends went to Tonawanda to visit a friend. They went out for a walk together and they found the Erie Canal. They walked across the railroad bridge and they began jumping off of it into the water. They were having so much fun until a Tonawanda police officer showed up.

The police officer says, " I'm sorry but I'm going have to ask you to get out of the water."

Makayla says, " Why officer?"

The officer says, " Because you can't swim in this area. It's illegal."

Makayla says, " Why is it illegal?"

The officer says, " There's a strong under current here and this area is for boaters only." Makayla and her friends climbed out of the water. But when the officer tried to walk away, Makayla mumbled, " This is stupid." The officer turns around and says, " What was that? What did you say?"

Makayla says, " What do you mean?"

The officer says, " What you just said. What did you just say."

Makayla says, " I said this is stupid."

The officer says, " Are you arguing with the law?"

Makayla says, " No I'm just standing out in justice. What you're telling me and my friends is bull crap! This is America! We have the right to swim where ever we want. We're not going to listen to some jerk cop telling us what to do!" Because Makayla said that, Makayla and her friends were arrested. Then later Makayla and her friends were bailed out. Makayla knew she was bound to receive a lecture from Leonardo about what she did. Her family listened to a tape-recording of her and the police officer. Then after it was over, Leonardo looked at his sister and said, " Really Makayla? You called him a jerk?"

Makayla says, " Well in a way he was being a jerk Leo."

Leonardo says, " How was he being a jerk Makayla? He was doing his job."

Makayla says, " He was telling me and my friends that we can't swim in the Erie Canal."

Leonardo says, " Nobody can swim there Makayla. It's against the law."

Makayla says, " How is it against the law Leo?"

Leonardo says, " Would you rather get hit by a boat and die Makayla?"

Makayla says, " No Leo."

Leonardo says, " Okay then that's why you can't swim there."

Makayla yelled, " You know what?! I'm sick of people telling me what to do! So I'm just going to do whatever I want and you can't stop me!" After she said that, she ran up to her room and slammed the door. Leonardo started running up the stairs after her.

Master Splinter says, " Leonardo what are you doing?"

Leonardo says, " I'm going to talk to Makayla."

Raphael says, " No you're just going to yell at her Leo."

Leonardo says, " Don't start Raph." He ran up to his sister's room, walked in and angrily said, " Listen to me Makayla, you don't ever and I mean ever yell at us like that!"

Makayla yelled, " Well I don't care right now!"

Leonardo yelled, " We're family and family doesn't do that!"

Makayla yelled, " Well maybe I don't want to be a part of this family anymore! What do you say to that?!"

Leonardo yelled, " I can't believe you would say something like that!"

Makayla yelled, " Well it feels good saying it!"

Leonardo yelled, " Stop screaming at me Makayla!"

Makayla yelled, " Don't tell me what to do Leonardo!" The rest of the family stood at the bottom of the stairs listening to Leonardo and Makayla yelling at each other. Then Leonardo yelled, " YOU KNOW WHAT?! MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST LEAVE!" There was a loud boom noise and then Makayla yelled, " IF THAT'S THE WAY YOU FEEL THEN I'M LEAVING AND NEVER COMING BACK!" Makayla ran out of her room, down the stairs past her other three brothers and her sensei and ran out of the lair. She was crying emmensely. The rest of the family ran up to Makayla's room and found Leonardo laying on the floor with a bleeding forehead. Donatello took care of Leonardo's forehead in his lab while Raphael went out to find their sister. He was worried that she would try to hurt herself or kill herself. He had to find her before any of that was to happen to her. Raphael called out his sister's name at least 20 times but there was no response. She was no where in sight. He called his sister's name again but this time he heard crying coming from farther down the tunnel. Raphael knew that it was his sister crying. He ran down the tunnel and found Makayla leaning against a wall crying. She freaked out as soon as she saw her brother Raphael because she thought he was going to hurt her for what she did to their brother Leonardo.

Raphael says, " I don't want to hurt you Makayla I just want to talk to you."

Makayla cried, " About what Raph?!"

Raphael says, " About what happened between you and Leo." Makayla explained what happened between her and Leo. She suddenly felt guilty about what she said to him. So her and Raphael went back to the lair. Donatello came out of his lab and said, " Makayla, Leo wants to see you." Makayla walked into the lab and saw Leonardo laying in the infirmary bed.

Leonardo softly says, " Hi Makayla."

Makayla says, " Hi Leo. Donny said you wanted to see me?"

Leonardo softly says, " Yes. Look Makayla I didn't mean what I said to you."

Makayla says, " I didn't mean what I said to you either. But why did you say that?"

Leonardo says, " Because I was mad, I didn't mean it and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings when I said that."

Makayla says, " I'm sorry too Leo." Makayla hugged her brother and cried. Then she said, " I love you Leo!"

Leonardo said, " I love you too Makayla!"

Makayla says, " I promise to never hurt you like that ever again!"
