Chapter 25: Recovery

Everyone watched in horror as they saw Saphira puncture Starscream's metal armor. Energon was leaking down from his wound.

"MIKO!" shouted Ratchet.

"Give me a nanosecond!" Miko retorted as sweat began to drip down her face. She then closed her eyes as she focused all of her aura on the reversal spell and shouted, "Nuquerna ista!" Her whole body glowed with a faint white light.

The small orb of light coming from her hands soon turned into a white magical glyph with a symbol of two objects spiraling outward in a circle. The glyph then zoomed on the CPP cord and attached itself on it.

It revealed a black magical glyph before the reversal spell neutralized the spell that prevented Starscream from escaping the sync.

The doctors were amazed for a few seconds before they remembered to get Starscream out of Saphira's mind. Knock Out swiftly pulled the plug on the sync so that he could save his comrade from this fate.

Saphira grinned sinisterly as she watched Starscream slowly bleed out. She laughed victoriously as she said, "Two down, only one to go." Then she noticed that something was amiss.

A portal appeared in front of Starscream's body as his soul began to return to his body.

"What! No, I will not allow this!" she said as she tried to enter the portal. She was stopped by some magical force field, preventing her from leaving. She stepped back in pain as she growled savagely.

She chuckled evilly as she said, "Looks like the Decepticons have a sorcerer or sorceress on their side." She turned her head towards the screen as she said menacingly, "Dare to try and intervene in my affairs again, and you shall witness my full power. You have been warned."

The image of Saphira disappeared as the screen turned black.

Miko looked back at the screen as she said, "Like I ever...back out...on a...challenge." Her eyes started to become heavy as she collapsed on the floor; her fairy wings disappeared into tiny specks of light.

"Miko!" shouted Jack, Raf, Fowler, and Wheeljack as they raced over to her.

Meanwhile, Knock Out, Ratchet, and Techna raced Starscream into sickbay immediately after they disconnected him from the cortical physic patch.

"Knock Out, what is the damage?" Ratchet asked as he was carting Starscream into another room.

"He is suffering from a massive breach in his main fuel line. Severe energon trauma in his left wing and his right side" said Knock Out as he listed Starscream's injuries. Then they finally hooked him up to a life support machine and started working on fixing up his wounds.

"Techna, we need type C negative, stat!" Knock Out cried out loud as he helped Ratchet with Starscream's fuel line.

Ratchet turned to Knock Out and asked him, "How do you even know what energon type he is?"

"In the beginning of the war, he would always get himself into fights on the warship. He would always come to me to get fixed up," Knock Out said before he started to laugh a little. "Some of us would call him 'Scrappy Starscream' when he's in a cast or getting his wounded welded back up to perfection. So I've memorized his energon type."

Knock Out paused for a moment as his smile disappeared and said solemnly, "But this is the first time that I had him dying on the table."

"He's not going to die, not on my watch" Ratchet said as he finished welding Starscream's fuel line. Knock Out nodded as he continued to help Ratchet with repairing Starscream's wounds.

Then Techna came into the room with a huge cube of C negative energon. She hooked the cube up on the energon transfusion machine.

Meanwhile back in the medical bay, Miko just collapsed on the floor right after she said her comeback.

Jack, Raf, and Agent Fowler ran towards Miko's body. Jack put his index and middle finger against her neck to check for her pulse. "Her pulse is normal. She just fainted, that's all" he said to the others.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief to know that she'll be just fine. Jack picked her up bridal style and carried her to the corner of the room. He rested her against the wall before he joined the others.

Twenty minutes had passed by as the Autobots and humans waited for the news about Starscream. They heard someone come into the room. They turned to see Techna coming in.

"Well? How is Screamy?" asked Wheeljack.

"He's stable now, but he has to rest and recover" she replied to him.

Wheeljack nodded in reply as he said, "I think I should go find Bulkhead and tell him what happened." He then left the room to go find his friend.

"I think I should go find Skylynx and Darksteel and tell them what they've missed as well" Bee said as he left the room.

Arcee helped her sister with monitoring Saphira's condition while Jack watched Miko.

He looked at her worriedly as he asked, "Should I call my mom?"

"I'm not an expert on this kind of stuff, but to me she looks like she's sleeping," said Agent Fowler. Jack nodded as he grabbed his cell phone and started to text his mom to tell her what has happened.

As Jack tried to text his mom, Miko was in a very deep sleep.

~~~...~~~...~~~...~~~
I was walking in a dark forest when I heard a loud noise. I turned around to see no one. Then I heard it again. My heart was pounding in my chest. My eyes widened in terror as I noticed something big in the bushes.
The creature hissed as I saw three pairs of black soulless eyes staring directly at me. My heart sanked to the pit of my stomach as my skin started to pale in terror.
The creature was a humongous recluse spider. The spider started to crawl closer to me. Sweat started to drip down my cold face.
I started to back away from the creature and then I started to run for my life. I can hear the scurrying footsteps of the creature as I ran for my life. ~Why is this happening?~ I thought to myself as I tried to run even faster.
Then I felt something sticky on my feet as I looked down to see a huge blob of spider webbing on my shoes. I was stuck. I desperately tried to break free, but the spider started to wrap me into a cocoon, leaving my head exposed.
Tears started to flow down from my face as I cried out a name that I thought I would never say again, "Anna! Help me!"
The spider hissed and chattered before it sanked it's fangs in my thigh. I screamed in pain as I felt blood dripping down from my wound. Then I heard a roar as I saw something swoop down and knocked the spider off of me.
I struggled to sit up and see what was going on, but I couldn't get up. I felt really numb and weak all around my body. I heard a fierce roar from the flying creature before I saw a stream of fire light up the dark forest.
The fire scared the gigantic spider as it skedaddled away. I was relieved that the spider was gone, but I was still afraid of what might this new creature would do to me next.
I heard it land a few feet away from me, but I couldn't really see it. It walked closer to me as my vision began to become all weird and smeared. I felt very cold, sweaty, and faint that before I passed out, I heard the creature exclaimed, "Miko!"
~~~...~~~...~~~...~~~

Miko's eyes shot open as she sat up quickly and screamed. She noticed that she was up against the cold metal wall.

"Miko?" asked a familiar voice. She turned to the side and saw Bulkhead. "Are you okay?" he asked with a bit of worry in his tone.

Miko held her head, as she replied, "No."

Bulkhead came closer to her and asked sincerely, "What's wrong?"

She shook her head and replied to him, "I just had a bad dream, that's all."

He nodded his head in reply before he asked, "So what happened? I heard from Jackie that you fainted while trying to save Starscream from being offline in Saphira's head."

She rubbed her temples and replied, "I must of used up too much of my aura when I was trying to reverse that spell Saphira put on the CPP cord."

Bulkhead looked at her, scratched his head, and replied, "Ugh, aura?"

"Isn't aura like a soul or something?" asked Raf as he looked up at Miko from his computer.

She shook her head, stood up from the floor, and said, "Not exactly, Raf. You see aura is the force within all of us."

"The force? Like in Star Wars?" asked Jack curiously.

Miko narrowed her eyes angrily at Jack as she put her hands on her hips.

Jack put his hands up in defense as he said shakily, "Just an example."

Miko looked at Jack for a long time before she said, "Similarly." She then backed away from him and continued what she was saying, "Anyway, aura, like the force, is inside every living thing. It is that power that magic is possible. But using magic has its limits. That reversal spell that I just did, took a lot of my aura out of me. Plus, I'm still a beginner in magic and that spell was the hardest and most draining spell that I have ever done."

"So let me get this straight. This aura, force mojo dojo is what gives people their magical powers?" asked Agent Fowler in disbelief.

Miko put a finger on her chin in thought for a moment before she replied, "Its...a theory because not every thing in magic spells need aura."

Agent Fowler just pinched his nasal ridge as he shook his head. "This is going to be very, very difficult to explain to my superiors," he said to himself while his eyes were closed.

Miko looked at him and asked, "Don't you guys have CBN units at your FBI Company?"

Fowler opened his eyes, looked at Miko, and asked, "How do you know that?"

"My mentor told me that in case a mythic harassed or tried to kill me that I would go to the CBN for help" she replied.

"What does the CBN even mean?" Raf asked.

"The CBN stands for creatures that go bump in the night" she replied to Raf.

He nodded in reply.

"But still, I doubt that they'll listen to me" Agent Fowler said to Miko.

"They should because Saphira is a mythic, and it is their job to help, protect, and guide mythical creatures and or humans," she said to him.

"We'll see," he said to Miko. He then turned to the Autobots and asked, "Hey could you bots open up a bridge so that I could go and send my report about the girl's condition to my superiors?"

"Sure thing" said Arcee as she opened the space bridge for Fowler.

Fowler nodded thanks as he disappeared inside the swirling blue and green portal.

Once he was through the portal, everyone then returned to his or her routine. Miko went to go finish cleaning up the rooms with Jack and Raf's supervision. Bulkhead and Arcee helped Techna and Shockwave with equipments and making sure that Saphira was stable.

"Would she ever recover from what's ailing her?" Techna asked out loud.

Shockwave replied solemnly, "I don't think she will."

Techna silently said a prayer of healing as she continued to monitor the girl's slowing sparkbeat.
