Chapter 25

Will kept refusing the medical attention once Sonny was next to him. He kept saying he was fine. Deep down, he just wanted to ease Sonny's mind because he could tell how afraid he was – could see how afraid he had been the entire time Brian had been in this apartment. He was definitely in pain – a lot of pain actually, and he felt like that was going to stick around for a while. Sonny was still on the ground with Will's head in his lap, and Will just wanted to stay there forever.

"Will, please. Let them at least check you out. You're bleeding…" Sonny whispered, fingers fluttering across Will's temples. Will's blue eyes shifted up to meet Sonny's once again and Will melted further into his touch.

"Okay, Sonny. For you. I'll get check out for you." Sonny smiled down at him. He leaned down, kissing Will's forehead gently, whispering a thank you against his skin. Sonny moved Will's head from his lap, preparing to move away so the paramedics could get to him.

"What?" Will's eyes widened in fear and followed Sonny's movements. "Sonny?" His head shifted to see where Sonny was going, body cringing at the movements it created. "Sonny!"

"Shh. I'm right here." Sonny said, moving to Will's side again.

"Don't," Will said, trying to find Sonny's hand to latch onto.

"Don't what?"

"If I'm…getting checked out, you have to stay with me…please?" Sonny glanced up at the paramedics who started to protest.

"We need to take him into the hospital to get checked out. We can't let you in with him. Privacy issues…"

"Then I'm not going." Will shook his head and tried to sit up, crying out when he did. Sonny placed a hand on Will's back.

"Maybe you should lay down…Just relax, I'll get some sweatpants for you."

"No. Sonny…"

"Hey…I'm normally the one like this…I'm here. I'll be right back, I promise." Sonny said, before feeling Will's fingers slide into his hair, face getting pulled closer to Will's own. They forgot about the people around them momentarily, just breathing each other in and trying to take everything in.

"I love you, too." Will said softly before pressing his lips to Sonny's. Sonny responded immediately, threading his fingers through Will's on his free hand.

"I love you." Sonny said before pecking Will's lips again. "God, Will. I love you so much. I should've told you sooner."

"As long as you did sometime…it's okay. I would've waited forever for you, you know."

"God, Will." Sonny kissed him again quickly. "Now, can I please get some pants for you, so my boyfriend doesn't flash himself to everyone we see later." They both laugh before Will blushes and looks down.

"What's wrong?" Sonny said, hoping he hadn't said something wrong just yet.

"I'm…I think I'm still bleeding. That's not…that isn't good, is it?" Will said with a tone that told Sonny he was both scared and embarrassed.

"No, baby. But if you let these guys help you, maybe they'll be able to stop it or slow it down before we leave for the hospital to get you fully checked out."

"Okay." Will said. Sonny kissed Will again before allowing the paramedics forward once again to help Will with the bleeding that was still happening from Brian's. Brian. Sonny wanted to kill him. But he needed to focus on Will right now. He needed to forget about Brian. Brian was being taken to prison. There was no way he could get himself out this time – not with the police and medics coming in when he was in the middle of raping Will. He was broken from his thoughts when Will squeezed his hand tightly.

"Shh, it's okay." They were helping lift Will, setting something underneath his sore rear as they set him down on the stretcher so it would soak up the excess blood. Sonny saw the carpet of his apartment at the same time as Will.

"Oh god, Sonny." Will cried, tears coming to his eyes. It was kind of starting to feel real…what just happened tonight with Brian.

"Shh. It's fine. As long as you're okay…it's fine. Don't look at it." Sonny grabbed the blanket hanging over the arm of the arm of his couch and tucked it around Will. Will smiled hesitantly at Sonny, thanking him for his generosity.

Sonny couldn't ride with Will in the ambulance and Will got upset more because of that. Sonny kissed Will and promised to meet him at the hospital.

"I better see you in about 5 minutes," Will said.

"I'll drive fast…"

"Not too fast." Will whispered.

"Okay babe. Do you want me to call anyone? Your mom? EJ?" Sonny asked him.

"Um, my mom I guess…I don't really want her to show up and worry though."

"Why don't we wait a little while then? Let's just get you checked out first, okay?"

"'Kay" Will replied.

"See you soon, babe" Sonny said, kissing Will on the cheek before jogging to his car. He got into the front seat and started the car as he watched the ambulance drive off. Sonny drove as fast as he could without getting in an accident or breaking any laws and parked the car in the lot of the hospital. He locked his car, made sure he had his phone and then ran to the front entrance. He just wanted to find Will.

He heard his voice a minute later.

"I'm not going in there unless he can come with me. Aunt Kayla, I don't care! Please. I'll let them do whatever they want, just please." Sonny smiled at Will's tone before he moved closer to the voices. He rounded the corner to see Will laying on the gurney that he was on when he left in the ambulance. He was on his side, facing a woman that must be his Aunt Kayla. She had short blonde hair and was on the shorter side. She had a look on her face that he could tell was annoyance. He was just gazing at the sight before him – Will was gorgeous, even lying on a hospital gurney.

"Aunt Kayla!" Will whined. Sonny chuckled at Will, and walked closer to him.

"Sorry to interrupt over here." Sonny said politely, smiling at the doctor before him and then glancing at Will.

"Sonny." Will sighed. "It's been more than five minutes…" Sonny smiled brightly when Will pouted at him adorably.

"I know, I know. Come on, I'm here aren't I?" Sonny said and walked to the side of Will's gurney, leaning over him, stopping right before their lips touched. "Miss me much?"

"So much, Sonny." Will whispered against his lips before kissing him softly. They broke apart when someone cleared their throat. Will blushed as he looked at his aunt.

"Sorry, Aunt Kayla."

"Oh, it's fine, Will. You two are cute together. Though I do want to get you checked out. So if you wouldn't mind detaching yourselves for just a few minutes." Kayla laughed, making Sonny chuckle and Will just continued to blush nervously.

"Can he…?" Will bit his lip, looking at the doctor and then at Sonny quickly before looking back at her – asking her silently, with his eyes what he wanted.

"If he wants to, then fine. Just don't tell anyone that I gave you permission. I'll get in trouble with all the other patients that I say no to."

"Thank you. You can't say no to a Horton, can you? Especially one with a face like this…" Will smiled cutely at her before she rolled her eyes, patted his leg, and walked away. Then Will turned his head to focus his eyes on Sonny again.

"Hi." He said, smiling.

"Hi. What are you smiling about?" Sonny asked, reaching down to lace their fingers together.

"Um, just having you here right now. Can I ask you something?" Will said nervously.

"Anything, Will."

"Okay, well…will you come into…" Will blushed and looked down at their interlocked hands.

"Ask me…"

"Will you come into the exam room with me?" He whispered almost inaudibly. Sonny tried to smile at Will, bringing his free hand up to caress his cheek. Will moved his face further into the touch and closed his eyes. He took a shaky breath and when he opened his eyes again a couple tears fell down his cheeks.

"Of course I will. If you want me in there, I'll be there. I'll always be there for you Will – always. Don't ever doubt that, okay?"

"I won't. Not anymore."

"You've been doubting that?" Will let a few more tears fall from his newly reddened eyes. "Shh, don't cry. This breaks my heart seeing you like this."

"I just thought…I didn't think you wanted to see me when we weren't talking and all that."

"I thought you didn't want to see me. And I was trying to figure out how I felt about you…" Sonny replied, wiping the tears that continued to fall down Will's cheeks.

"I…I'm glad that I found you tonight when I did…I was afraid that he…"

"Hey. Don't worry about me right now okay…Let's focus on you."

"Wait…are you hurt at all? Should you get checked out too? What did he do to you before I got there?" Will rushed his words.

"He tied me up. He…he hit me a couple times and then he used a candle to…"

"What?" Will's word came out choked. "Where?" Sonny reached his hand down to run over his leg gently, showing Will that it was underneath his clothes.

"Oh god, Sonny. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't get there sooner." Will said. Sonny took both his hands in his own.

"I'm not. I wish you wouldn't have come at all because then you would still be safe. You would be safe, and not hurt…" Sonny whispered painfully.

"If I hadn't come then you would be hurt worse than you are…or even worse than that. You could be…" Will choked at his thoughts. Sonny tried to soothe him, looking around to see who was around. He was wondering if they could move into one of the rooms.

"It's okay, Will. Don't think about that. I'm fine. Look at me. I'm a fighter, just like you are. You are so brave, Will. I'm so happy that I met you. I'm so happy that you spilled your burning hot coffee all over me and scalded me." This brought a chuckle from Will and Sonny followed suit. "Are we getting you checked out anytime soon?" Sonny asked. Will looked up at him and bit his lip, nodding.

"Yeah, Kayla said we could go in the room right over there… Can you wheel me in there?"

"Of course. Hold on tight." Sonny moved behind the gurney to push him toward the room when Will's hand landed on his arm.

"Thank you, Sonny…For everything." Will said before smiling at him. Sonny leaned over to attach their lips sideways. The kiss was somewhat awkward, but it still felt right – like they were meant to be kissing each other. With a final peck on the lips, Sonny pushed Will to the exam room, both of them silently afraid of the future and of what they would find out when the doctor's checked will over.

To be continued…
