Chapter 25: Sonic's Plan

Back at Orange Desert Base with the Knuckles, Blaze, Eggman and the rest of the rebels they were waiting for Abraham to return to see if he had killed Sonic. The vampire hunter returned and groaned in pain. Knuckles ran over to him.

"What happened to you!? I thought you said you could handle him because handled the previous Master!" Knuckles exclaimed, sounding panicked.

"He's too strong," Abraham said. "However, I did kill a vampire...an orange fox. The Master seemed very angry about it."

Knuckles' eyes widened. He looked at Blaze and her eyes were wide also. Eggman's eyes were widened as well. He knew how close Sonic and Tails were and even he never tried to tear them a part like that. he didn't want to see Sonic go dark ever again.

"What?" The vampire hunter asked.

Knuckles sighed as he decided to the hunter. "Before Sonic got turned ... him and Tails were best friends, close as brothers. They were like family to one another as they had none and they took care of each other. After Sonic was turned, Tails tried to find a cure for Sonic, but Sonic ended up turning Tails. I'm guessing since they were close before they were turned that they'd still have that same relationship even as vampires." Knuckles looked down as he had been friends with young fox.

Eggman began to speak. "Tails and Sonic would always get in my way. Annoying pests. They stopped me from achieving my goals. I would fight them when I was evil, but I'd never try and kill them."

Abraham blinked at what each had said about the two. Sonic and Tails had been that close? He never knew. So, that's why Sonic was so angry at him about killing the fox. He never knew that vampires could still hold emotions like that or classify other people as family.

"There's another thing," he said. "As punishment...the Master...infected me."

All of the rebels stared in horror at Abraham while Eph and Nora glared at him as if getting ready for a fight.

"You're going to become a vampire?" Eph shouted.

Abraham nodded. Knuckles looked between Eph and Nora and then to Abraham and frowned. "He may have infected you as punishment, but I have a feeling he's gonna do something worse to you after you fully turn or before it."

"What should I do? I'm going to turn in a few hours."

Knuckles kept his frown as thought about it. "Well, once you turn you'll most likely turn to Sonic's side and Sonic most likely doesn't want the killer of his best friend in his coven so he'll kill you before that."

Abraham shook his head. "He told me that he wants me to see what it's like to be a vampire first."

Knuckles shrugged at this. "He may not be able to wait that long and kill you anyway."

"I should leave. I'll put you all in danger if I stay."

Knuckles sighed and nodded, figuring that it'll be for the best. Abraham nodded and left. Knuckles turned to the rest of the group with a solemn face. "Well, there goes the best vampire hunter we had. Who knew Sonic would be able to beat him."

"What do we do now?" Eggman asked.

Nora spoke up. "Maybe we should kill Abraham before Sonic does so he doesn't have to go through any pain?" Nora said as they grabbed a knife and twirled it between her fingers.

Knuckles shook his head. "No. You don't want to mess with Sonic with he's angry, especially this angry," Knuckles said with a sigh.

"Any other ideas?" Eph asked.

Knuckles thought about for while and then sighed. "I guess we'll have to wait until Sonic kills Abraham. Sonic is very dangerous when he's angry. Once he's gotten his revenge and back to normal...we can go back to strategizing an attack on him and his coven."

"That works."

Knuckles sighed as he looked to the door where Abraham had left through. He hated using the hunter as bait, but he had to ... to keep the rest of the world safe Sonic's tyranny.

Back at the cover, Sonic arrived at the entrance and transformed back to normal. He put the photo in his quills and stepped inside.

The Master walked inside the cave and Shadow looked at him. Master, we were beginning to worry. Are you okay?

He motioned to the wound on the Master's chest.

Sonic looked at it and covered it up with his cape. I'm fine, he growled out and walked past Shadow toward his coffin. The black and red hedgehog stared at the Master in shock at his reaction to his question.

He lay down in his coffin and went to sleep as the sun came up. The other vampires did as well. As the day went by Sonic thought about the way Tails had been killed. It had been so ... brutal. Why did his little brother have to die a death such as that? He never wanted anything like that for Tails. Never. The Master sighed in his sleep, thinking about Abraham. It was his fault that Tails had died. Sonic clenched his fists and gritted his fanged teeth together. He had to get revenge. He NEEDED to get revenge. He didn't know what else to do in this situation right now. His little brother had just been killed. Murdered. In cold blood. How else could he react?

The Master growled. He couldn't sleep. He sighed and yawned in his coffin, hoping to rest. He closed his eyes and rolled onto his side, but once more couldn't get to sleep. He growled at this and opened his coffin and looked to the roof where all the other vampires were sleeping and sighed.Well, if I can't get to sleep I might as well stay up.

He looked outside to see the sun and hissed, then turned into a bat and flew up to where the others were. Hopefully he could get to sleep up there. He closed his eyes and tried once more to get to sleep, but it didn't work. He sighed and flew to the ground and transformed back to normal. He walked to the back of the cave and sat in a corner and pulled his legs up to his chest and closed his eyes.

When night came, he woke up. Shadow looked at him. Are you okay, Master?

Sonic quickly stood up, a little in shock from the question and frowned. Yes. I'm fine. Why do you ask?

You just look...depressed. us, you were up half of the day.

He kept his frown plastered on his face and glared at Shadow. I told you I'm fine! he growled out as he trudged past Shadow.

Shadow looked at him and sighed. What are we going to do tonight? He called after the Master.

The Master stopped and turned around to look at Shadow. His eyes held no emotion except anger. I want all of you to continue rampaging on the city and try and draw out the hunters. Sonic then, turned around. As for me...once one hunter is out in the open... A grin played a long his lips. I'll have a lot of fun with him...

Shadow nodded and left with the other vampires. Sonic watched them leave and sighed and took out the photo of his and Tails looked at it. I'm doing this for you, buddy

He chuckled and turned into a wolf, put the photo back in his quills, then ran out into the city.
