Yeah this is a really really long one. Makes up for lost time I think. So enjoy.
Hazel's POV:
My wolves ran to me barking happily after the fight with Pitch.
"Majesty! You're alright!" One said happily.
"We were so worried!" Another added. I smiled at them.
"I am fine. And so is our winter friend." I said looking to Jack. The wolves caught sight of him and rushed to him. Jack laughed as they circled him looking him over like concerned parents. I walked over to the Guardians leaving Jack with the wolves.
"Thank you, your majesty. You saved our lives and my sons once again. If there is ever anything we can do for you please let us know." North said. I smiled at him.
"Thank you, North. I will. And thank you to all of you for helping me defend my forest." I said, but my smile fell into a look of sadness.
"But we must leave. With Fenris no longer a threat to my forest, we must move to a new forest while we are still safe to travel." I said. The Guardians looked to me in sadness. Jack then walked up behind me.
"You're leaving?" Jack asked sadly. I turned to face him.
"Yes, Jack. I'm sorry, but the water and food supply are gone here. My family won't live long if we stay." I said.
"Hold on." Bunny said stepping forward. I looked at him. "If it's water and food ya need, we can help with that." Bunny said. I looked at him confused. "Jack is a winter spirit. His powers are of frozen water. Jack smiled at the idea.
"We can grow a new forest." Jack said catching on. I looked to him in shock.
"What? But how?" I asked.
"With a little hope." Bunny said.
"Wonder." North added.
"Light." Tooth continued.
"Dreams." Sandy signed.
"And a bit of fun." Jack finished. I smiled as tears filled my eyes.
"Then let's try it." I said. The others smiled before we all got to work. North raced around the forest slicing away at the charred, ash covered ground as he dug a small hole. Jack spread light snow over the forest floor as Bunny raced around popping seeds into the ground along with Tooth. Sandy's sand created an unusual type of warmth. He made fireworks explode in the sky so that his warm sand would fall over the land and help to melt the snow. The snow was quick to melt from the last of the suns rays and by Sandy's sand. By the time they finished the whole forest, the sun was set over the horizon. They stood back to look at their work.
The plants would take months maybe years to grow to full height. I looked to the ground knowing this. Suddenly a bright white light shone down from the sky and over the whole forest. I looked up to the sky as did the Guardians. We smiled in amazement and joy seeing Man in the Moon shining bright down over the burnt forest. We all heard what sounded like grass being strained and stretching. We looked to the ground and saw green leaves and grass started sprouting from the ground amazing the animals, me and even the Guardians. The small shrubs grew quickly replacing the old trees and bushes and growing to full size. Bunny and Jack smiled at each other.
Within minutes, the forest was full with life once again. The animals rejoiced in the return of their home. I was so amazed and happy, I could only let out a small laugh and a couple of tears. Jack stepped up behind me.
"You okay?" He asked. I quickly turned around and hugged him.
"Thank you so much. You saved my family and brought back our home." I said as tears slipped from my eyes. Jack smiled and hugged me back.
"I just helped plant the seeds, your majesty. Manny did the rest." Jack said. I pulled away and smiled at him.
"You don't have to call me that anymore, Jack. You are a hero to us all no matter how small of a task you performed in bringing back our home. You helped in more ways than you think. And for that, you are welcomed as a part of our ever-growing family. Call me Hazel. You will always be welcome to our forest." I said. Jack smiled.
"Thank you, Hazel." He said. We suddenly heard a fearful cry. I looked behind me to see my wolves playfully chasing Bunny. But Bunny didn't know they were just playing.
"Get these things away from me!" He shouted in fear. Jack and I laughed. I whistled and the wolves stopped chasing the frightened rabbit. Bunny sighed in relief. North, Tooth and Sandy were talking near the foxes and deer. North was translating their language for Tooth and Sandy, amazing them both. The animals were currently thanking them for saving the forest. I walked up to the three just after Bunny did. Leaving Jack behind, a pack of wolves came over to him wagging their tails happily as they looked him over again.
"Guardians." I called. The four looked to me with smiles. "I must thank you all again. And I would like to let you know that you are forever welcome here in my forest. You will forever be seen as family to my creatures and forest. Thank you again for all of your help." I said. North stepped up to me.
"And thank you for helping us save our Jack. You will always be welcomed into our homes and family." North said.
Jack was petting the wolf pack as they sniffed him greedily. He giggled from the feeling of their whiskers on the bare skin of his legs and feet.
"Hey." He giggled. "That tickles." The wolves looked at each other before pouncing on Jack. Jack fell to the ground and one wolf lifted his hoodie with its nose revealing the boys stomach and started licking it. Jack broke down laughing."No, stop!" He laughed. More wolves joined in the tickling as one sniffed at his neck, cheek and ear making their whiskers gently brush over the sensitive skin. Two others licked his feet causing Jack to laugh even harder.
I turned away from the Guardians at the sound of heavy laughter. I saw Jack laying on the ground laughing as wolves crowded around him wagging their tails as they sniffed and licked his bare skin him. I tried to suppress a giggle as I walked up to them. Jack caught sight of me and shouted to me.
"Hazel! Hazel help me! Get them awahahahahahay!" Jack shouted through his laughter.
"What was that? I didn't understand you." I teased with a grin.
"Please! Make them stop!" He shouted through his laughs again.
"Well if you insist." I said. "Away!" I demanded making the wolves instantly stopped and moved away. Jack panted heavily as I walked up to him and knelt beside him.
"Thank you." He breathed out.
"I never expected the great Jack Frost to be ticklish." I said with a smirk. Jack blushed with a soft chuckle.
"Yeah." Was all he said. I chuckled and ruffled his hair. "Hey!" He shouted with a laugh as he tried to swat my hand away. I chuckled again before I stopped.
North then walked up to us with a smile. "Cute kid you got here, North." I said to the man. Jack blushed deep red at the words. North smiled wider.
"Yes, he is. That's why I love him so." North said. Jack looked back at the man and smiled at him. North smiled back with loving eyes and a warm smile.
Jack got up from the ground and brushed himself off. Flipping up his staff with his foot, he caught it gracefully in his hand. Bunny rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms over his chest, but couldn't keep the smile off his face.
"Show pony." He mumbled. Jack chuckled catching the Pooka's words.
"Well, thank you again, your majesty." North said.
"Just call me Hazel." I said with a smile. North smiled.
"We better get going. I have a lot of catching up to do at the Pole. Christmas is in a couple of months you know." North said with a smile.
"Very well. Thank you again for helping me bring my home back. My friends and I will see you again, Guardians of Childhood." I said softly with a kind smile.
"Oh! I almost forgot." North said reaching into his coat. He stepped up to me before pulling out an orb that almost identically matching his snow globes. This one, however, held a forest gold light in the center that made it shine bright in his hand. He handed the orb to me and I took it into my hand. It fit perfectly in my palm. "This globe will allow you to contact any one of us or all of us if needed. If you ever need anything at all, call us. We will come." North said.
I looked at the globe with a smile before looking up at North. "Thank you, North. As a reward to all the Guardians of childhood, I would like to give you all a token of our gratitude." I said. I handed the orb to a fox who took it gently into its mouth. A dear walked up beside me with different scepter looking items.
