Chapter 25

Krystal walked into her first class late. "You're so ridiculous" She whispered to Fox as she sat down and caught up on her notes.

"Yeah you're right, I should have still come and got you so you would know I didn't have sex with some other girl this morning." Fox's words cut deep at Krystal, she allowed one thought to invade her mind and now she was seeing the results of what it was doing to the relationship between her and Fox.

"Look, I'm sorry that I said that. I wasn't thinking about what I was saying." "Hm hm, you got that right." Fox mumbled back at her. "Ugh! You're so immature about some things!" She said, trying not to yell. "We'll finish this later, I have to catch up on my notes since you had to be so unreliable." Fox just mumbled and looked back at his notes without looking at Krystal one bit.

When gym came it wasn't any better. "Alright you idiots," The coach said jokingly, "We're gonna be playing basketball today, four on four, since it worked so well the other day." Fox looked over at the guys without even looking at Krystal and he walked over to them. "What a jerk." Krystal thought to herself, but she just walked over to the girls.

"Hey Krystal, is there something going on with you and Fox?" Amanda asked her friend. "Don't mean to be rude, but I don't wanna talk about him right now." She replied quickly. Everyone took that as a yes.

"Hm? Oh right, I forgot you guys were in this class" Fox said to Wolf as his crew came up and challenged the guys. "You're not winning this game, you got that McCloud?" Wolf said as he stood over him, a few inches taller. "I didn't know it was this serious to you, but alright if you guys wanna go down then I can arrange that" He said with a smirk. "Right, how cute" Wolf said as he roughly tossed the ball to Fox.

The game began and was pretty rough. Fox always covered Wolf, Falco on Leon, Bill on Panther, and Slippy on Oikonny. The girls couldn't help but watch the intense game between all of the boys.

Panther one time rammed straight into Fox, a clear violation, when he wasn't looking.

"Hey!" Krystal yelled at him, "Play by the rules!" Panther felt guilty now, and was distracted long enough for Fox to take the ball from him for a dunk to humiliate him.

The game ended in a tie between the two. "Don't take a breather yet McCloud, we'll finish this another day. And let me make one thing clear, I didn't lose today." Fox just chuckled to himself. "Yeah yeah whatever you say Wolf, good game out there."He held his hand out for a handshake, and Wolf returned it as a respectful rival.

Before he went back into the locker room he turned around. "Hey…. Krystal" He said, she turned back towards him listening to him. "What is it?" He looked at her then turned away a little. "Nothing, never mind." Krystal also turned and walked away.

Fara had been "absent" all day, but was actually watching the whole time from the lobby of the gym as she saw Fox's relationship slowly eradicate. "I'm just so darn good at this." She said laughing to herself and walked outside.

In chemistry the class was to go outside to the greenhouse and work on a project with a partner. "Excuse me Mr. Mcdow, can I work by myself today?" The older dog seemed confused. "Well…. Sure, but don't you usually work with Krystal?" Fox felt somewhat awkward talking to his teacher about this. "Well, yeah, but the other day we had a small falling out and I kinda just want to be on my own for a little bit. The teacher nodded his head and Fox walked over to the corner to start his experiment.

'What a loser.' Krystal thought to herself.

Fox was still mad at Krystal, and he figured she was too. Fox went home right after school and his parents very quickly caught onto his upset mood.

"Something bothering you honey?" Vixy asked with a curious look on her face. "Well, yeah a little." Fox told his two parents. "You see, Krystal thinks that me and Fara did….you know, when we were together on Katina. And I just feel really offended that she would think that, like she doesn't trust me."

James didn't know what to say, " Well son, I didn't expect that. And I'd wager her parents told her this too, you can't blame her somewhat. You haven't known each other for as long as you think you have. And in high school you can never tell, you see all those nice popular girls who have a lot of friends who are guys, you can imagine what they do after the football games on Fridays."

Fox knew his dad was right, he always was. James was in Fox's shoes a while ago, and still knew the ropes of high school.

"Just don't worry about it sweetie, it'll be okay in a few days I'm sure." Fox knew they were right, but that doesn't mean he wasn't upset with Krystal still.

He knew what to do, he called Slippy.

"Hey Slip, your dad still has those instruments from his and dad's band from college right?"
