Now, before I start addressing the reviews, I want to clarify that I have indeed seen the first three new episodes of Young Justice Outsiders recently, since this Chapter is released two days after. Chapter 25: The Gems of Shei'Ten Kar
Even the smallest chance of victory gives hope.
A hunt for the crystals! Having engaged with the Shadow Collective's cult known as Vaapad Rage, the Young Justice and the Jedi, with help from Tatsu Yamashiro and Metamorpho, find themselves with the difficult challenge of traveling to four different Planets, each one with crystals needed for the hellish plot of Darth Maul, Project Hell Saber! With former cultist Moira revealing the four Planets as Castillon, Tehar, Najra-Va and Shei'Ten Kar, groups of four are made. Ahsoka Tano leads her team with Jessica Cruz, consisting of Katooni, Katana, Kid Flash, Zatanna and Nomad, to the home planet of the newest Green Lantern, hoping to put an end to the chaos before it can begin, but are unaware of the danger that looms for them ahead.
Ahsoka adjusted the controls of the Twilight as it traveled through Hyperspace. As she did, Zatanna looked around with awe, as did Kid Flash. The two smiled to each other, and were about to press some of the controls, until the Togruta Jedi Knight used the Force to push their seats back.
"Please don't touch anything," Ahsoka said kindly. "Remember, this is my ship. Anakin may have found it, but when he's not in possession of it, it's mine to control, and possession is nine-tenths of the law."
"You really have to pull that one on us?" Kid Flash as Katana walked out from the door leading to the Hangar Bay.
"This is really impressive," Katana said as Katooni and Nomad followed behind her. "Why haven't we seen this ship more often?"
"Well, Master Obi-Wan said that he took the ship for a secret mission, which turned out to be an attempt to save Duchess Satine from Maul back when he ruled Mandalore," Ahsoka started to explain before some of the systems started to spark, getting Zatanna and Kid Flash to move away from them. "Maul blew it up, apparently, and after it was rebuilt, some stuff still wasn't fixed… especially the landing cycle that Anakin promised to fix!" she yelled, slamming onto a control angrily. After a while of taking some deep breaths, she calmed herself down. "Good thing is that all it takes is a little hit to get it working again."
"Anakin really likes this ship, doesn't he?" Nomad mused as he looked around.
"He considered changing the name from the Twilight to the Flawless." Ahsoka smirked, causing everyone to chuckle.
Jessica walked in, causing everyone, sans Ahsoka, to look at her. Her hair was now cut shorter, with some bangs at the front covering the gem on her forehead.
"Hey there, Captain," Jessica said, sitting next to Ahsoka. Ahsoka looked to her and smiled. "What's our estimated time of arrival back to my home?"
"Hey, you cut your hair," Ahsoka said, giving Jessica a light punch, getting her to chuckle. "What made you decide to change your look?"
"New name, new powers," Jessica started off while looking at the monitor before turning back to Ahsoka. "And a new look to boot. Gotta change my ways like you helped me to do."
"Oh, it was nothing," Ahsoka said. She heard a beeping and looked up. "We're coming up on Shei'Ten Kar," she told everyone, getting them to strap down in their seats or hold on tightly where they stood. "Coming out of Hyperspace."
The Twilight soon came out of Hyperspace. In front of it, and Ahsoka's team, was the Planet of Shei'Ten Kar, green and blue as Earth.
"Wow, your Planet…" Zatanna said. "It looks beautiful."
"One of the advantages of being a neutral Planet for years," Jessica said. "Gonna have to speak with my Council while you get a head start on the search for the Shadow Collective, though," she said. "My name change is one of the many things we need to discuss."
"I know the feeling," Ahsoka said as she flipped the switches. "Everyone, suit up," she ordered. "The moment we land at the Castle, we start searching."
"And don't worry, I'll clear you all from there," Jessica added on. "Besides, I'm sure that Lady Shiva will be here to do her own search with the Shadow Collective Forces here."
"Not to mention Vaapad Rage," Katooni added on. "If they're as dangerous as Vrak, I've got a bad feeling about this."
At the same time, Lady Shiva's Eclipse Fighter flew down at a base on Shei'Ten Kar, in the desert. Several ninjas, like the ones she brought with her to Central City several months ago, watched as she landed her fighter. The moment the Eclipse Fighter touched the ground, the ninjas bowed, as did a woman with a inverted version of Lady Shiva's wardrobe and silver hair.
Lady Shiva emerged and motioned for her ninjas to get back up. Sending them all a nod, they went back to work, each now armed with lightsaber hilts with metal blades on them.
"Welcome back home, my Master," the silver-haired woman said as Lady Shiva approached her. "I hear you have had encounters with Lady Cruzsek."
"Jessica Cruz now," Lady Shiva corrected. "But enough about me, Tokoyami… how goes the mining operation?"
"The Yiga Clan has found several Kyber Crystals, as you have requested," Tokoyami explained. "There are more gems beneath the surface than we originally expected, but nonetheless, we will have them all ready in time for Operation Hell Saber."
"That is one of the reasons I have returned," Lady Shiva said. "It turns out that Vaapad Rage has been compromised, and as such, so has the operation," she explained. "Valeirea, Lazarulf and Demystus have been alerted as well, and every extraction of crystals has accelerated."
"Fortunately, our operations have not been discovered yet," Tokoyami said. "Our faction and the Yiga Clan have made sure to keep to the shadows about all that we do."
"In any event, dispatch several Yiga Elites to scout for Ahsoka Tano, Jessica Cruz and the rest of their forces," Lady Shiva ordered. "It's home business now. Nothing must stop us from delivering the crystals."
At the castle back in the mainland of Shei'Ten Kar, the Twilight landed. Ahsoka was about to walk out, but Jessica flew in and stopped her.
"I think it's best that I go out first." Jessica said. She closed her eyes, and soon, she was back in her civilian attire.
"Right, your Planet," Ahsoka said. "To your people, we're outsiders."
"And there's nothing wrong with being an outsider," Jessica said. "But I think it's best that I at least gather with the Crusaders and my Council so that we can devise a plan."
"Sounds good to me." Katana said.
The Hangar Bay door to the Twilight opened up, then halted. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow and stomped down onto it, causing it to go again.
"You said this was fixed again." Zatanna whispered.
"Like I said before, neither Anakin or Obi-Wan bothered to fix the landing gear." Ahsoka whispered back.
Jessica walked forward as several guards approached them. Showing them her Ring and her necklace, they all stood down and parted so she could get through, the rest of the Young Justice following right behind her.
"Welcome back, Mistress Cruzsek– I mean, Cruz," Urbossa said as she and the rest of the Crusaders, some with cybernetic prosthetics to replace what they lost from their battle with Darth Maul in the Battle for Earth, waited for Jessica, Ahsoka and the Young Justice to make their way over to them. "Forgive us for the added security."
"Once we learned that the Shadow Collective was here, and mining for our crystals, we had to increase all patrols tenfold to ensure that this Planet remained safe," Daruk added on. "With us not feeling all at one-hundred percent strength, we had to do what we could to protect Shei'Ten Kar."
"It's alright, I understand," Jessica said. She felt the gem on her forehead and sighed. "But I'm afraid that I sense Lady Shiva here too. Her presence is not far."
"I've been meaning to ask about your gem, Jessica," Ahsoka said as she walked up. "I know it's something that everyone on Shei'Ten Kar has," she started out, seeing almost everyone had a gem on their forehead like Jessica. "But I never understood the full purpose. What is it?" she asked.
"These gems are embedded into our body. It's how everyone is born on Shei'Ten Kar," Jessica explained. "They are signs of protection, pride and honor. With the exception of the Crusaders, who have their own traditional birthmarks from their sides of the Planet, everyone from Shei'Ten Kar is distinguishable by the gems they hold."
"Are they Kyber at all?" Katooni asked.
Jessica chuckled. "No, they're not," she replied. "They're more of a different kind. They can be removed from us, but they are not at all compatible with any kind of lightsaber."
"That had me going there. I though the Shadow Collective would be going after everyone for their gems for sure," Ahsoka said with relief. "But where do you think they are operating, given how large this Planet is?"
"I'm guessing the deserts in my younger sister's jurisdiction of the Planet," Urbossa said. "Lady Shiva and her soldiers, the Yiga Clan, have always operated there. Like our own tradition, it is theirs to remain in the place where they were all trained in the art of darkness."
"So, the desert we go," Ahsoka said. "I'm sure that Lady Shiva has already gotten here."
"And is mining for our rare crystals too," Jessica said with concern. "As the ruler of this Planet, and as a Green Lantern, I will lead you all against her. She and the Yiga Clan are not to be underestimated."
"We've fought her Yiga Clan before," Katooni said. "We can face them again."
"Can you face an army?" Jessica asked, getting the Young Justice to look at her in shock. "However many she brought with her to Earth was only just a little bit of her followers. What you're facing here is stronger than even the Shadow Troopers Maul managed to get."
"And we'll be ready for them," Kid Flash said. "Don't worry."
"Worrying is the right thing to do," Jessica said as she looked to a holographic chart on the wall. "Tonight is the event of a blood moon. That's when every evil being on this Planet gets stronger tenfold. If we don't stop Lady Shiva and her forces by midnight, they'll be unstoppable."
Ahsoka and the Young Justice looked to each other, now clearly worried.
"How unstoppable are we talking here?" Nomad asked.
"So unstoppable that not even my Mother would stop them." Jessica said sternly.
"Whoa," Katana said. "We've got some pretty big odds against us."
"Doesn't scare me, even at the mention of a moon as red as blood," Zatanna said. "I've got my own experience with blood."
"You do? Really?" Katooni asked, prompting Zatanna to gesture to her red Nightsister Robes. "Oh," she said, slowly nodding. "Right."
"You'll still need me to help you around," Jessica said. "You never know…"
Jessica did not have the chance to finish as she felt the gem on her forehead glow. Gasping quietly, she placed her hand to feel it.
"What is it?" Ahsoka asked.
Katana noticed the Shadow Saber glowing as well.
"We're not alone!" Katana called out, activating the Shadow Saber.
"Positions!" Jessica called out, taking out her Royal Saber and Shield.
Everyone looked around, Ahsoka and the Young Justice unsheathing their own weapons as well. Around them, out from red mist, several Yiga Clan Ninjas appeared, armed with either sais that had lightsabers as the blades or a new kind of weapon, a set of tonfas with a lightsaber blade glowing at the end, held in reverse.
"Looks like Lady Shiva already knows we've gotten here." Katooni said.
"Be careful," Jessica said. "They're tougher than they look."
"Funny," Ahsoka said as she thrust her lightsaber out. "I was about to say the same thing."
Several ninjas charged at Jessica and the Young Justice, but Katana leapt in the way, blocking the attacks from three of them. She leapt back and kicked each of them away before Kid Flash raced by, knocking two more off of their feet.
Nomad unsheathed one of his crossguard lightsaber hilts and blocked an attack from a Yiga ninja using a lightsaber sai. He parried off the hilt of it before spinning around just as another attempted to attack him. He held his lightsaber in a sheathed stance and activated the green blade, stabbing the ninja first before he spun around and bisected him. He placed his green crossguard lightsaber into his left hand before pulling out his blue crossguard lightsaber into his right arm, blocking an attack from a ninja using a blaster-bladed lightsaber, just as it activated.
Katooni ran forward, sliding under the blades of several members of the Yiga Clan. She leapt back up and kicked one of them away before spinning around her hilt, constantly activating and deactivating it to keep blades away from her before placing it behind her back in a reverse grip while grabbing the hilt of an incoming attacker. She grinned before spinning around, using the now-stolen lightsaber to fend off against the Shade Ninjas before tossing it in the direction of Kid Flash.
Kid Flash grinned at what he saw. Racing at just the right speed, he caught the blaster-bladed tonfa and spun it around. Keeping his arm straight, he shot at the Yiga Clan around him, leading them out to the field of grass outside before vibrating, now starting to move so fast that everything around him was slowing down. He ran at one of the Yiga Ninjas and kicked them away before punching at another. He tossed the stolen lightsaber weapon into the air before spinning his arm around, throwing it like a boomerang. He raced again, time resuming, as he and the lightsaber took down several more Ninjas.
Zatanna clashed with a single Ninja several times before they engaged in a blade lock. As they were trying to gain momentum over one another, two more Yiga Ninjas leapt in and tried to strike her down, but she suddenly disappeared, leaving only her robes.
"Up here!" Zatanna called out, now floating up as the robes disappeared. She grinned and winked before aiming her Golden Energy Ichor Sword and Wand down. "Nips Elcyc!" she incanted, creating a whirlwind that brought the three Ninjas into the air. She grinned once again before trapping them in a prism. "Nioj Eht Yvan!" she incanted, sending them slamming down to the ground, where they immediately collapsed.
As Zatanna levitated back to the ground, she looked to the dazed Ninjas and chuckled. "I've always wanted to use that Spell." She said giddily.
At the same time, Jessica was clashing with several Ninjas as Ahsoka was doing the same. The two locked with four Ninjas at the same time before Urbossa tossed her shield at one of them. Revali, now with his new metal wings, send several metal feathers at several more to help out before Daruk slammed his claymore down, allowing Mipha to send blasts of water at the rest.
"You know, for handicapped Crusaders, you haven't lost your touch since returning here," Jessica smirked. "No offense, to any of you."
"None taken, just as long as we are able to help out," Revali said. "But the longer we keep them here, the more trouble there is waiting for us ahead."
"Revali is correct," Mipha said, impaling a Yiga Ninja with her Trident. "The Blood Moon will make all Shades, and even any Sith here, stronger than they were before."
"So let's finish this up," Ahsoka said, taking out the Xiphon. "I've been keeping this move ready for an event like this."
Several Yiga Ninjas leapt at Ahsoka, but she leapt into the air, activating the Xiphon. Crossing both blades across her chest, she spun around before sending several SokaTan Strikes at the Ninjas below her. Each one of them was thrown back by them before she created a star with both of her lightsabers, creating an explosion that sent a pulse through them right as Ahsoka landed and dashed through, slashing through all of them at the same time.
"Right with you on that, Ahsoka," Jessica said as she charged up her Royal Saber and Shield. Aiming the blaster end of her shield out first, she fired several blasts that kept the Yiga Clan Ninjas in place before sending several energy beams from her Royal Saber, each one taking them out. "And here's the clincher!" she yelled, bulleting straight towards the Ninjas. As soon as she appeared behind them, she spun around her Royal Saber and deactivated it, causing each of her enemies to fall.
Ahsoka and Jessica landed right in front of each other. Looking up, the two smiled before getting back straight up.
"Nicely done." Ahsoka said, doing a couple of stretches, Jessica doing the same, before holding her hand out.
"Right back at ya." Jessica complimented, shaking Ahsoka's hand.
The rest of the Young Justice walked to Ahsoka and Jessica while the Crusaders approached them as well.
"You were right, Jess," Zatanna said, feeling her arm. "These ones are tougher than the ones we faced last time."
"It will take a lot of strength and stamina to get through this one," Katooni said, tossing her lightsaber hilt into the air before clipping it back onto her belt "I'm just hoping the other teams have more luck than us."
"Katooni, this is Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu we're talking about, leading our friends," Kid Flash said. "I'm pretty sure they've got things handled just as much as we do."
"Don't assume anything," Ahsoka said. "You know how much of a challenge Vaapad Rage was. Who's to say more of their forces are ready on the other Planets?"
"Ooh, good point," Kid Flash said with a click of his tongue. "Sorry for being too premature there."
"It's fine," Jessica said. "But as Ahsoka said, our enemies are getting stronger. They'll be even stronger than that if we don't find the Shadow Collective Base before nightfall."
"Well, that will take some time," Ahsoka said. "How about we all scout around?" she suggested.
"You'd need to have one of us to go with you for that," Daruk said. "No offense, you guys, but this is a big Planet, with unpredictable weather and all kinds of creatures around. Some places you can't stand because of their climates."
"Where are you getting at with this?" Ahsoka asked.
"There are four regions, each one we rule over," Mipha explained. "My Water Domain, Daruk's Volcano City, Revali's Wind Village and Urbossa's Desert. Each one has a Guardian beast watching over them, but because they're ancient, they can't pick up on enemy signals at some points."
"We'll patrol each area," Kid Flash said. "I can take the Wind Village with Revali."
"Sign me up for your area of jurisdiction, Daruk," Zatanna said, to which Daruk nodded, before she turned to Katana and Nomad. "What about you two?"
"I'll take my chances at the Water Domain," Nomad said. "I'm sure there are places there that haven't been thoroughly looked over yet."
"In that case, all that's left is the Desert Area," Ahsoka said. "I'll use my Jedi Cycle to help cover more ground."
"Can I use the Speeder I saw in the back of the Twilight to help?" Katana asked. "I'm good on bikes."
"I can try to use the Twilight to help cover more ground," Katooni said, getting Ahsoka, Katana and Jessica to look at her. "You let me pilot two Starfighters before. Besides, if we're on Comms, you can make sure I know how to properly steer the ship." She told Ahsoka.
Ahsoka shrugged. "Fair enough," she said before turning to Jessica. "We'll need not just Urbossa for help there, but you as well," she said. "Hope you're ready to take on Lady Shiva again."
"Don't worry," Jessica said as she removed her glove from her right hand, letting her Green Lantern Ring manifest her suit over her body. "I'm ready." She said with a confident smile as her eyepiece appeared over her right eye.
In the desert, Lady Shiva was working on making some adjustments to her cybernetic arm. After tinkering around with the inner workings for a while, she closed the hatch on it and let all the joints click back together. Lifting up her arm, she performed a couple of motions, each with some whirring, before levitating some oil to stop the sound. Once it was done, she repeated the exact same motions and nodded with approval. As she turned around, a dark-crimson robe floated into the room before spinning to reveal Tokoyami, now crouched on the ground in a kneeling position, her fist pounded right in.
"Report, my friend." Lady Shiva said.
"The Yiga Ninjas we sent to take care of the Young Justice, Jessica Cruz and the Crusaders did not go as we had planned," Tokoyami explained. "I left before the Jedi could sense my presence, but I suspect that they are dividing their forces to try and find this base."
"Good, just what I was expecting," Lady Shiva said as she looked to the outside, where several Yiga Clan Ninjas were armed and ready with other lightsaber weapons. Some of them hid away and vanished with only a motion of their arms while others made their way out of the base. "I take it the Ships are fueled up?"
"All of them, yes," Tokoyami confirmed, nodding as she did so. "And we are almost finished mining the Crystals. But with all due respect, I feel our best bet would have to performed the mining at Goron City rather than here in Gerudo. The Gorons there have plenty of crystals ready to be mined and take for use of the Shadow Collective."
"As do the gems here in the Deserts, where the climates and creatures could make it impossible for the Young Justice to track us down without being at full strength," Lady Shiva said, levitating a diamond from one of the crates before she bled it so that it could turn red. "While we are at full strength, waiting for them to strike, they will already have been tired out, and most likely unable to fight back."
"So we just wait here while our Ships are loaded for them to find us?" Tokoyami asked. "With all due respect, Lady Shiva, this plan sounds like it may have some flaws in it."
"Flaws can often lead to the best of things," Lady Shiva said as she levitated metal around the crystal she bled. "Sometimes, even the strongest of armors has its weaknesses. It can always be penetrated."
"What do we plan to do?" Tokoyami asked.
"We bide our time," Lady Shiva said. She sent a small surge of Sith Lightning at the metal pieces, getting them to spark, before they clicked together around the crystal she had. Holding it up, she activated the blade and spun it around. "I take it your lightsaber is still being made?" she asked.
"Almost there," Tokoyami confirmed, showing a long lightsaber hilt that resembled a large Japanese Long Sword. "I have yet to complete it."
"You will use it with this," Lady Shiva said, deactivating the lightsaber before handing it over to Tokoyami. "Consider it… a gift."
Tokoyami looked to the new lightsaber and smiled. "It is beautiful." She marveled.
"Yes, and it is now yours," Lady Shiva said. "I take it that Vaapad Rage is ready?"
"Yes," Tokoyami said as several figures in black robes appeared behind her. She pressed the gem on her forehead, and her mouth plate appeared over her mouth, as well as a visor with a single eye over her eyes. "Let them come. We are ready."
"Excellent," Lady Shiva said. She leapt into the air, activating her aerial mode. "Keep the ships running," she ordered. "I will ensure our success." She said before flying off.
Tokoyami nodded before turning to the black-cloaked figures. "Whatever happens, don't stop launching the ships!" she ordered. "At all times, keep mining! Take off with whatever we have!"
In the desert area of Shei'Ten Kar, the Gerudo region, Ahsoka was riding her Jedi Cycle through. Right next to her in the air was Jessica Cruz, while behind her, Katana rode along on the speeder from the Twilight, and sprinting next to her was Urbossa on foot. In the air behind everyone, Katooni was piloting the Twilight, looking around for any signs of trouble.
"What a way to travel," Katooni said as she looked around on the scanners. "Is everyone good?" she asked everyone through the Comms systems.
"Wow! That's loud," Kid Flash mused as he ran through the Rito mountains near the village. "Was it always like that?"
"Wallace!" Ahsoka reprimanded as she turned a corner back in the desert.
"Sorry, sorry," Kid Flash apologized as he scanned around through his goggles. "It's just that after using the Psychic Link for so long, I almost forgot what it was like to use the actual comlinks," he defended as Revali flew by before landing down next to him. "Revali and I did a sweep. Nothing here."
"Well, I can say the same for Goron Mountain," Zatanna said as she flew around, with Daruk rolling down below her. "Daruk and I have been looking here for any signs of the Shadow Collective Base."
"What makes you think it could be there?" Katana asked as Zatanna looked up to see several Goron workers heading into the tunnels.
"I've spotted over a dozen deposits around these volcanic mountains already," Zatanna said, landing down to check on an ore deposit nearby. "And even more in the mines. There's a lot of crystals here, so much that I can't believe Lady Shiva didn't go for this place first."
"Same status update for the Zora Domain," Nomad reported as he raced around the mountains near the Zora Kingdom. "Mipha and I have been looking, and so far, we found a bunch of deposits, some abandoned camps, but nothing more." He said as Mipha leapt out of the water to land next to him.
"If the Shadow Collective and the Yiga Clan aren't there, they could quite possibly be here in the Gerudo Deserts," Jessica said. She closed her right eye and opened it again, showing a green holographic display with a digital time clock and report of everyone's positions on it. "We've only got three more hours until the Blood Moon rises," she said after letting out a sigh. "When it does, our mission will have become a whole lot more harder."
"Don't worry, we've got this," Ahsoka said. "I'm sure we can get more in depth on this Operation Hell Saber Moira told us about."
"Yeah," Katooni said as she looked at the scanners from the Twilight. "Ahsoka, if you are prepared to ask me to look back at Gerudo Town again, I will not."
"And why is that?" Ahsoka asked with a smirk.
"Because I looked there over a dozen times already," Katooni replied as Ahsoka looked through the desert on the scanners through her helmet. "Got the same results as the last couple times: sunburns, sand everywhere, and no signs of the DarkSiders."
"Okay, fair point," Ahsoka said as she continued to scan the area through her helmet. "I'm not seeing anything either."
"Well, finding the darkness isn't always easy," Urbossa said as from a distance behind the group, someone started to approach them. "You have to look real closely, or else you might miss them."
"I'm doing that too, Urbossa," Jessica said as she kept her display open while scanning the desert with her Ring. "So far, like Ahsoka, I got nothing. But it doesn't hurt to keep looking."
"So far, we've been looking everywhere," Katana sighed as she removed her boot to shake out some sand. "I swear, I've got sand in places I didn't even know I had."
"Enough," Jessica said. "We girls need to stay focused."
"Agreed," Urbossa said as she reached for her sword. "Speaking of which…" she started out before taking out her shield and placing it behind her to block an incoming lightsaber attack. "You've got some nerves to attack us, traitor."
Everyone turned to Urbossa to see her blocking an attack from a Yiga Clan Swordsman. The Swordsman growled and broke off as Urbossa unsheathed her sword. Spinning it around a couple times, it started to get lightning sparking on its blade. She charged at the swordsman, who clashed with her several times before he slammed his lightsaber at her. She quickly held up her shield and blocked the attack before knocking it away, bright blue sparks flying across her shield as she did so.
The Yiga Clan Swordsman leapt back from Urbossa and spun its sword around. As Urbossa stood ready, he slashed forward, sending a gust of air from his lightsaber. Urbossa was thrown back by the attack before he sent several small daggers in her direction. Before they could get the chance to hit her, she snapped her fingers, causing lightning to rain down onto the knives and the Swordsman as well. While the knives were turned to dust, the Swordsman was left in a state of shock for a moment before he disappeared into a cloud of smoke.
"Where did you go?" Urbossa asked as she looked around.
At that moment, the Yiga Clan Swordsman leapt out from behind Urbossa, his lightsaber raised above his head as he charged.
"Hold on!" Katana called out as she unsheathed her Shadow Saber. She activated it and leapt into the air, spinning as she did so.
Urbossa continued to fend off against the Yiga Swordsman until another Yiga Ninja leapt at her from behind. Before she could take the chance to notice him, Katana leapt in and slashed at his blade, blocking it. The two clashed for a moment before she and Urbossa stood back to back with each other. The two looked to each other and smiled before grabbing each others' arms. Together, they spun around as the two ninjas charged at them, but their blades spun back at them. As soon as the Swordsman made it to them, Katana cut off his hand before Urbossa slashed him across the chest. They stopped spinning and slashed down the Yiga Ninja who had joined in, both falling to the ground at the same time.
"Whoa," Ahsoka said in awe. "That was… awesome!"
"Ahsoka!" Jessica teased. "What would Mace Windu say to that exclamation?"
"Sorry, I couldn't resist," Ahsoka apologized as Katana and Urbossa walked back. "We were being tracked this whole time?"
"Looks like it," Katana said, grabbing the lightsaber of the Yiga Swordsman. "Well-armed too. I have to say, they knew exactly what they were dying for when they went after us."
"Then again, them attacking us in the Desert of all places…" Urbossa said before snapping her fingers again, causing everyone to back away after seeing what she was capable of doing. "Of course!" she exclaimed. "Now it all makes sense!"
"What is it?" Katooni asked.
"The Yiga Clan back in the Days of Queen Arella, your mother, hid out in only one place," Urbossa started out as she looked to Jessica, who floated down slowly. "Deep in this desert, one place. A place where Master Kohga always was until the day he was executed. How did we not see it sooner?"
"The Yiga Clan Base was here in plain sight!" Jessica exclaimed in shock. "And we never even saw it."
"Well, where is it?" Ahsoka asked.
Jessica turned around and shot forth a beam from her Ring. Everyone looked to it as it made its way towards a ravine a couple of miles away.
"There," Jessica said before she checked her display. "Only two more hours until the Blood Moon settles in now."
"We'd better hurry," Ahsoka said before pressing the side of her helmet. "Guys, we found out where Lady Shiva and the Yiga Clan are," she said. "How soon until you can get to our location? We are at Gerudo Desert."
"We're on our way." Kid Flash said as he and Revali listened. They were just about to leave until Revali pushed Kid Flash down.
"Look out!" Revali called out, just in time as several blasts were sent their way.
Kid Flash looked up and saw several members of Vaapad Rage standing with their blasters aimed.
"Belay that," Wally said as he and Revali got up. "We'll be held up."
"Same here," Zatanna said at the Mountains as she and Daruk noticed several red blades activating in the shadows around them. "Sorry, Ahsoka."
"I can make it!" Nomad called out as he slashed away several Vaapad Rage members before Mipha used her water to wash away the rest. He turned to her straight after. "You gonna be okay here?"
"I'm a Crusader," Mipha said. "I'll be fine. Help Lady Jessica with the Shadow Collective. I can take over from here."
"Don't get yourself killed." Nomad said as he placed his faceplate over his face again. He leapt into his Starfighter and flew off, heading in the direction of the Gerudo Desert.
"We've got only Nomad to help us," Katooni said. "And I'm sure there's bound to be more Yiga up ahead."
"Well, we'll have to be ready," Ahsoka said. She redirected her Jedi Cycle in the direction that Jessica's Ring blasted off to. "This way?" she asked for confirmation.
"Yes." Jessica confirmed, nodding.
"Come on!" Ahsoka called out as she rode ahead.
"Right behind you!" Jessica called back as she flew ahead as well.
"Let's go!" Katana called out, starting up her speeder again. "Urbossa, hop on!"
Urbossa ran over to Katana and leapt behind her onto the seat. She took off after Ahsoka and Jessica soon afterwards.
"Katooni, I want you to stay with the Twilight outside in case Nomad arrives," Ahsoka ordered. "I'm not benching you, I just need extra reinforcements unless we get captured… or worse." She explained.
Katooni nodded. "Understood, Master," she said as she looked around. "I'll just be here, waiting," she said before noticing a set of magazines nearby. "Um, Master?" she asked.
"What is it?" Ahsoka replied.
"What's this magazine?" Katooni asked as she walked over. "It's titled Playboy."
"Leave it!" Kid Flash's voice called out, causing every girl to get a confused look on their faces in response. "I'm… holding onto that… for a friend," he said defensively. "Plastic fell off when the systems malfunctioned."
"We will talk about that later!" Ahsoka called out. "This conversation isn't over, Wallace!"
"Okay…" Katooni said as she looked around. She looked to see one of the Saber Rifles that was taken from a Vaapad Rage Member during the Mission to Ord Mantell and picked it up. "Hmm," she said. "I could use this."
At the entrance to the Yiga Clan Headquarters, Ahsoka arrived, seeing several ninjas pop out of thin air. She readied her Arm-Mounted Crossbow Gauntlets and leapt out, letting her Jedi Cycle fly up to attach back to her Jedi Starfighter. As soon as she was in the air, she shot down at all of them before bouncing off of the ground with a few more blasts. As soon as she was in midair, she shot at two swordsmen before she aimed one of her gauntlets behind her, taking out several more.
Jessica flew in and took out her Royal Saber, slashing off the heads of two Vaapad Rage Members who were waiting. As soon as she landed, she punched another in the chest before blasting another in the face. One more was about to stab her, but she quickly stabbed him in the balls before shooting him in the face as well.
"Wow," Katana said as she and Urbossa walked over. "That was… cruel!"
"Not half as cruel as the interior design of this place," Ahsoka said, seeing several tapestries of the Yiga Clan Symbol draped around several cave entrances. "I know this is an old place, but did the Yiga Clan even have a sense of style back in the day?"
"Considering the lack of honor they carry…" Jessica mused as she looked around, scanning with her Ring. "Not likely."
"Any signs of hidden enemies?" Urbossa asked as she unsheathed her scimitar and shield.
"None that I can make out," Jessica said before her forehead gem started to glow. "Wait a minute," she said, causing everyone else to notice the glow as well. "There's someone heading this way!"
Sure enough, a black coat came flying into the middle of the cave, followed by several figures armed with Vaapad Rage lightsabers coming out of all but one of the cave entrances. The flying coat landed, and Tokoyami appeared with her hood off. She had both her old and new lightsaber hilts in hand and grinned evilly as soon as the Young Justice, Jessica and Urbossa saw her.
"Tokoyami," Jessica said, glaring at the Shade. "You're looking good."
"As are you, Monika," Tokoyami said. "Lady Shiva says you've changed your name to Jessica now. It's a nice one."
"Chose it myself," Jessica spat as she pressed her forehead gem, giving herself her mouth plate. "I see you haven't decided to redecorate around here. My friend has some complaints about the décor."
"Seriously?" Tokoyami asked. "Has she never heard of tradition?"
"I've seen Fiddler on the Roof, of course I know the meaning of tradition," Ahsoka spat. "Now, where's Lady Shiva?"
"She doesn't have time for the likes of you," Tokoyami said. "Now, if all is said and done… I believe you won't be going any further."
"As if," Katana spat, stepping forward. Several ninjas and Vaapad Rage members were about to charge when she held up the Shadow Saber. Immediately, upon seeing the weapon that was wielded by Lady Shiva, they all stood down. "Get to Lady Shiva," she told Ahsoka before activating the blade. "I will take care of this nuisance."
"Oh, good…" Tokoyami said with a grin on her face, twirling around her two lightsabers. "A challenge," she mused before looking to her forces. "No one intervene," she ordered. "I want this pleasure all to myself."
"Go on ahead… now!" Katana called out to her friends.
Ahsoka nodded. "Good luck." She said before she, Jessica and Urbossa ran off ahead towards the one unoccupied tunnel, leading them to a passage further into the cave.
Katana and Tokoyami looked to each other and walked outside of the base as the Vaapad Rage Members and Yiga Clan Ninjas watched, some heading in after Ahsoka, Jessica and Urbossa.
As soon as Katana and Tokoyami had the space they needed, they bowed to each other with respect and reached for their weapons.
Katooni, who saw everything happen from the Twilight, reached for her new weapon. "Ahsoka, Nomad is here," she said as Nomad docked into the Hangar Bay. "We're heading in now."
"Be careful, Katooni," Ahsoka said over the Comms. "And whatever you do, do not interfere with Katana's duel."
"Samurai Honor I know," Katooni said as she and Nomad made their way over to the Speeders. "Have fun storming the castle… until we get there, at least."
Nomad grinned before turning on his own comlink. "Wally, Zatanna, how are you looking?" he asked. "Ahsoka, Jessica and Urbossa have found Lady Shiva. We're about to go help them, but if you need any help…"
"No, we should be good," Kid Flash said as he wielded a stolen lightsaber from a Vaapad Rage Member, using it to fight off against several other cultists, matching his speed by Force-Running. "Make sure they don't get away with all the crystals of this Planet!"
"That's the top priority right now," Zatanna added on, locking blades with another Vaapad Rage member while Daruk slammed away ten more back at Goron Mountain. "We've got this! Once we're done, we'll join up with you."
"And with reinforcements too!" Revali called out, flying and blasting at more of the Vaapad Rage members at the Rito Mountains. As soon as he landed, he unsheathed a feather-decorated Cortosis Sword and ran at seventeen Vaapad Rage Members, killing them on sight.
"Alright, May the Force be with you," Nomad said as he boarded his own Speeder. He and Katooni looked to each other and nodded. "And may it be with us too."
"Let's ride." Katooni said as the Landing Dock started to lower. It stopped for a moment, but the two slammed their feet on it, causing it to lower all the way, before riding off into the Yiga Clan Base.
Inside of the Yiga Clan Headquarters, Lady Shiva returned. She spun in the air before landing on the ground with her fist slammed and her lightsabers flying to her side. She looked to her pocket and felt something in it. After making sure it was safe, she looked to the ships about to take off, as well as a probe droid making its way towards her. Keeping her stance, she lowered her head before a hologram of Darth Maul appeared before her.
"Report." Darth Maul ordered.
"My Master…" Lady Shiva started out. "I have retrieved the item you have asked of me to bring back to Crait," she reported. "It, along with the prism and the crystals that are being sent to you now, will play an important role in the plans you have for Operation Hell Saber."
"Excellent," Darth Maul said. "Now, I have not heard back from the rest of the Legion of Doom or Komari Vosa ever since I dispatched them to Castillon, Tehar and Najra-Va, but should they succeed in ensuring the crystals and tools I need for Project Hell Saber to be a success, we will be one step closer to finally facing Darth Sidious, and crush the Allied Forces."
"Of course, my…" Lady Shiva started out until she sensed something as her forehead gem started to glow. "They're here," she said. "My Master, I must deal with the intruders." She said, getting back up. She turned around and activated her Shadow Saber in one hand while both of her Double-Bladed Spinning Lightsabers floated around her, her scabbard acting as an arm blade for her prosthetic limb.
Ahsoka, Jessica and Urbossa all ran through, with the Yiga Clan and Vaapad Rage right behind them. Behind the Vaapad Rage and Yiga Clan forces, Nomad and Katooni arrived, and unsheathed their lightsabers, but kept them inactive as soon as they saw Lady Shiva up front.
"Welcome home, Jessica," Lady Shiva said as she, Jessica and Ahsoka circled around each other. "Do you like the new décor I've added?"
"And here I thought everyone was about tradition." Ahsoka mused.
"Not the time," Jessica said as she looked to the ships. "Just as I figured. You've gathered enough of the Planet's gems here to ship off to Darth Maul. Operation Hell Saber, was it called?"
"Vrak was unreliable in that he couldn't keep his faction intact," Lady Shiva spat. "But back to the business at hand… you're already too late," she said mockingly. "Seven ships have already taken off, and are on their way to the Shadow Collective as we speak."
"Well, seven is only a little," Jessica said as she knelt down, holding her Royal Saber in front of her, the emitter aimed at the ground. "You know what happens next."
"Tradition, tradition," Lady Shiva sighed as she knelt down and mimicked what Jessica was doing. "To the victor goes the spoils."
"If I win, you reveal where Darth Maul is and leave." Jessica said.
"If I win… I take this Planet." Lady Shiva said.
"Ahsoka, stand back," Jessica said. "This one is mine."
"Amuse yourselves, why don't you all?" Lady Shiva added on. "Stop them from…"
"Take out the Ships," Ahsoka said as she held her lightsaber at the ready. "When you're ready, guys."
"For Shei'Ten Kar!" Jessica exclaimed, activating her mouth plate.
"For the Dark Side!" Lady Shiva yelled, her mouth plate activating as well.
Both Jessica and Lady Shiva stood back up again, activating their lightsabers. The two held their stances before Ahsoka, Katooni and Nomad activated their own blades, everyone now charging into battle.
Outside, Katana leapt back from Tokoyami's blades. As she constantly backflipped away, she tossed several shurikens at her, causing her to deflect them with her new lightsaber before performing a wide slash at her. While in the air, everything seemed to slow down for Tatsu. Using this opening, she catapulted herself right at Tokoyami, kicking her several times in the chest before landing once again, locking blades as soon as she brought her crimson lightsabers onto her.
"Not bad for a girl from Earth, Dragon of the White Mountain." Tokoyami said.
"Same for you, Dark Wisp," Katana mimicked, translating her name like Tokoyami did with hers. "Hard to believe that Lady Shiva had so much challengers with the Shadow Saber."
"She had her ways," Tokoyami said as she and Katana circled one another. "I can assure you, while you wield the original Shadow Saber, you are not the better swordswoman," she remarked. "But… you do have skill."
"I also have a sword that rivals any lightsaber, did I mention that?" Katana asked. "Lady Shiva seemed to know of its existence, so you must too."
"What is it?" Tokoyami asked, her interest piqued.
"The Soultaker." Katana replied.
"Ah…" Tokoyami said with a devious grin. "So you're a worthy wielder…" she mused. "Based on how long you've lasted against me, I can see why."
"I don't have it on me right now," Katana said as she readied her Shadow Saber. "But when I do, I'll be sure to let you and Lady Shiva have an up close look at it… the hard way." She remarked before charging at Tokoyami again.
Tokoyami grinned as Katana charged at her. "Come and try," she said, charging up her lightsabers. "Ryujin no ken wo Kurae!" she called out, charging back.
"Gotōryū: Yamashiro Surasshu!" Katana called out, charging up the Shadow Saber.
Both Katana and Tokoyami clashed with each other once more, using their charged attacks against each other. As soon as they collided, a bright explosion engulfed the area.
Back inside, Ahsoka was using Soresu to fend off against several Vaapad Rage members, while Urbossa was clashing with several Yiga Clan Swordsmen. As she did, she backed away and tossed her scimitar, hitting several incoming ninjas like a boomerang before it flew back to her. Twirling around her sword, she tossed her shield, sending back a Swordsman before snapping her fingers, causing lightning to rain down onto the ninjas surrounding her.
Nomad fired at several Yiga Clan Assassins before using his crossguard lightsaber hilt to clash swords with two ninjas. He tossed his lightsaber at one of them before warping towards it. He activated it upon grabbing it, and killed the two, before placing it into his right hand. He twirled around his blaster again before shooting at two ships right as they took off.
"We can't let any more ships take off!" Nomad called out.
Katooni looked up and narrowed her eyes at the departing ships. She leapt at the wall and started to run up it, several Death Watch Devils at the Ships noticed her and started to fire, but she deflected all of the blasts before using her borrowed Saber Rifle to shoot them down. She landed on one of them and slashed at the pilots while Jessica and Lady Shiva continued to clash on the ground, jumping off of walls and locking blades with any opening they had.
Ahsoka stabbed a Death Watch Devil in the head before locking with a Yiga Clan Swordsman. "More just took off!" she called out. "That makes five…"
Katooni suddenly landed, two ships crashing down behind her before they exploded soon afterwards, all the crystals from inside of them flying into the air.
"Three, Ahsoka." Katooni corrected.
"Three. Three ships," Ahsoka said, correcting herself before turning to Katooni. "Nice going, young Padawan."
"Thanks," Katooni said before grabbing a grenade she took from a Death Watch Devil and looking to several incoming Ninjas. "One… two… five, I mean three!" she called out, correcting herself, before tossing the grenade, creating an explosion that obliterated the Yiga Clan Ninjas.
"I swear, these things are tougher than the Vaapad Rage," Nomad said as he stopped to catch his breath. "And only half of them are here!"
Jessica leapt away from Lady Shiva as she sent her two Double-Bladed Spinning Lightsabers at her. Jessica created several shields with her Ring before stopping them from spinning with several energy pikes. As soon as they were out of commission, Lady Shiva ran in and slammed her scabbard at her, only for her to hold up her Royal Saber in defense. She slammed her shield at her soon afterwards, pushing the Shade away, before spinning around and slashing at her with her Royal Saber, eventually locking with Lady Shiva's own Shadow Saber.
"Ooh, you've gotten better," Lady Shiva noted as she and Jessica kept their blades locked against one another. "But unlike last time, I've got nothing left to lose, and I've improved on my skills since then as well."
"Let's see, you've lost your arm, you've resorted to returning here after wanting to erase it from your memories, and as far as I can tell, you're already losing," Jessica snarked back. "Won't do you any good, you hypocritical twit."
"Oh, don't start with me!" Lady Shiva spat as she pushed Jessica off. The two narrowed their eyes at each other. "Once you're gone, my scars will be forever gone!"
"Come and try!" Jessica yelled.
Both Jessica and Lady Shiva charged at each other once again and locked blades. The moment they did, Tokoyami leapt through the crevice on the level above. As soon as she landed, she readied her lightsabers and looked up, just in time to see Katana land down, slamming the Shadow Saber down. As soon as she landed, a Yiga Clan Assassin armed with a Blaster-Bladed Tonfa Lightsaber charged at her, only for her to reverse the direction of the blade into his chest. She grabbed the weapon and held it in her left hand, holding both her green and grey blades ready as Tokoyami held her own crimson blades at the ready as well.
"Not bad," Tokoyami said before charging forward. "But not good enough!" she yelled before slamming the lightsabers down.
Katana grinned and held her lightsabers up, blocking the attack, before pushing Tokoyami off. She spun around her stolen tonfa and forced the second Shade backwards before slashing forward with her Shadow Saber in a reverse-grip, locking blades with the massive red lightsaber of Tokoyami.
Ahsoka ran through another Vaapad Rage member before using the Xiphon to block another attack. She spun around and slashed at the member before using his lightsaber, levitating it into the air to take down several more ships.
"More Ships down!" Ahsoka called out. She pressed the comlink on the side of her head. "Kid Flash, Zatanna, what's your…?"
Before Ahsoka could finish her question, Kid Flash raced through with two Vaapad Rage Lightsabers in his hands, slashing at the Death Watch Devils before Zatanna landed, sending fire at several more Yiga Clan Ninjas and Swordsmen.
"Daruk and Revali got the rest of the Shadow Collective to allow us to come here and help you out," Zatanna said, raising up her sword to stab a Yiga Clan Assassin just as he was about to strike her down with a saber sickle. "How many Ships are left?"
Lady Shiva leapt back from Jessica's attacks before looking to the sky. She grinned and used the Force to regain her two red Double-Bladed Spinning Lightsabers before remaining where she stood.
"What's got you so smug?" Jessica asked as she formed a Gatling Gun in her left hand in addition to her shield.
"Look at the skies," Lady Shiva said. "The moon is full."
Jessica's eyes widened before she looked up. Everyone did as well, and saw that the moon was blood-red.
"The Blood Moon," Ahsoka said. "It really is unnerving."
All of a sudden, several of the Shadow Collective Forces that had been killed in the fight before the Blood Moon came started to rise up again. They held their weapons at the ready, causing everyone to hold up their weapons defensively.
"The Blood Moon rises once again," Urbossa said. "It's happened."
"Yes," Tokoyami said as she started to glow, her blades glowing brighter. "A nice boost for the Dark Side."
"Indeed," Lady Shiva said as her eyes started to go black and her body glowed red. "Now, what's your chance to stop us?"
"Even with the smallest chance of victory, there's a chance of winning," Jessica said. "You're no stronger than you were before."
"We shall see." Lady Shiva said, spinning her lightsabers around. As she did, red energy started to gather. She thrust her Shadow Saber and scabbard out, sending forth red Sith Lightning that forced Jessica to hold up her shields in defense.
As Jessica leapt back, she grabbed one of the undead Yiga Clan members and tossed him in the way before Lady Shiva dashed over quickly. Readying her weapons against, Jessica fired at her, knocking her off-guard for a moment before leaping over several blade attacks. As all five blades lashed out at her, she flew over and deactivated her Royal Saber briefly before activating it again, knocking Lady Shiva's scabbard out of her hands.
Ahsoka grinned at how well Jessica was holding up before looking to more of the Ships taking off. Firing at the ground with beams of light, she flew at them and slashed one of the Ships before tossing the Xiphon to another. She stabbed her own lightsaber into the side of the Ship she was on before swinging herself to the Xiphon, using it to destroy more systems. As she ran across the exploding ship, she rocketed herself back to her lightsaber on the other ship and stabbed the Xiphon in, using them to steer the ship down at several Death Watch Devils. Yiga Clan Members and Vaapad Rage Cultists. She leapt off as soon as it crashed down onto them before sending a blast to the side.
Kid Flash raced by, continuing to use the lightsabers he stole to take down several more Shadow Collective Forces, living and undead alike. He was soon disarmed of his weapons, but he started to race around his fraction of enemies as Ahsoka's blast made its way towards him. He continued to race faster and faster, so much that the blast flew with him as he ran. He started to gain lightning from his running until he stopped and tossed it with the blast, sending a lightning-filled blast at the Shadow Collective Forces, killing them on sight.
Zatanna, now armed with a lightsaber in her right hand and her Golden Energy Ichor Sword in her left, was fending off against several more Death Watch Devils and Yiga Clan Members, as well as Vaapad Rage Cultists. As she parried with a Cultist, another slammed their weapon against her sword, causing her to spin backwards. As she did, she stabbed her stolen lightsaber into the ground before aiming her sword out.
"Faith!" Zatanna incanted, sending forth several pillars of light that scorched all of the Shadow Collective Forces before she flew at them. "Erif nrub nordluac elbbub!" she incanted, creating a giant explosion that she flew out of, several more Yiga Clan Members, Death Watch Devils and Vaapad Rage Cultists getting blown back in flames.
Katooni leapt into the air and aimed her saber rifle down, firing at more Death Watch Devils. As she soared back down, Vaapad Rage Cultists and Yiga Clan Members leapt at her, but she slashed through them before slamming her lightsaber onto the ground, performing the Whirlwind of Destiny once more. As soon as her enemies were in the air, Nomad leapt at them and slashed through, cutting them to pieces. He landed next to Katooni, the two getting back up in tandem. They looked to each other and smiled before bumping arms together.
"Nice skills." Nomad said.
Katooni blushed. "Uh, thanks," she said nervously. "You too."
Urbossa noticed what was happening and grinned. "You go, girl." She said before sheathing her weapons as several enemies surrounded her. Without flinching an inch, she snapped her fingers, and lightning rained down onto all of them, turning them to dust.
Katana stood ready against Tokoyami, armed with three more lightsabers. As Tokoyami was readying for another attack, Katana charged and tossed her lightsabers into the air, her Shadow Saber still in hand. She grinned and leapt up.
"Gotōryū: Yamashiro Surasshu!" Katana called out, slashing at Tokoyami from all sides.
Tokoyami gasped as she was hit by every attack before getting slashed into the wall after a few dozen slashes.
Jessica stared Lady Shiva down and shot a blast from her Ring at her. As Lady Shiva deflected it, Jessica flew up and performed and blasted at her again, only for Lady Shiva to blast back with her Sith Lightning. Jessica backflipped, and found herself blocking a barrage of Juyo strikes from the Shade. She continued to parry them off until she spun around, her forehead gem glowing.
Lady Shiva gasped as Jessica cut right through the lightning before slamming her away, just as the Blood Moon faded into a normal moon.
"So much for the Blood Moon," Jessica mused, stopping to catch her breath. After she did, she walked to Lady Shiva and aimed her Royal Saber down at her. "Surrender, Lady Shiva," she ordered. "It's over."
Tokoyami looked up and snarled. She was about to run over until Katana aimed her Shadow Saber at her neck.
"You heard the Princess," Katana said. "Stand down."
Lady Shiva looked around, seeing her undead soldiers falling to the ground, now back to the grave. As the remaining forces were about to help, Revali flew in, aiming his bow and plasma arrows at them before Mipha walked in, slamming her Trident down and causing a wave to rise up behind her to make her presence known.
"Listen to her," Ahsoka said. "You can't win."
Lady Shiva looked up and panted. "I'll admit, you got me," she said. "Very well done. I can see why Arella held you in such high esteem now."
"You were right back there," Jessica complimented. "Your skills really have improved since we last fought. I'm glad there was more of a challenge this time."
Lady Shiva chuckled, using the Force to regain her lightsabers and place them back onto her belt. "Makes me remember the old times now," she said. "And as per the tradition… I yield… but do not turn myself in."
Jessica smiled and stepped back. She spun around her Royal Saber before placing it at her side, deactivating the blade. As soon as she did, Lady Shiva got back up again.
"Master?" Tokoyami asked. "Lady Shiva, don't do this!"
"She's not turning herself in, Tokoyami," Ahsoka said as the rest of the Young Justice looked to Tokoyami. "Lady Shiva literally just made herself clear on that point."
"At least we got you," Jessica said. "Trust me, if we were still on the same side, I wish it didn't have to be like this."
"In the spirit of honesty?" Lady Shiva started out. "I wish the exact same thing."
"How about we let each other go this time?" Jessica. "We'll give you a head-start, a one day head-start. We beat you fair and square, after all." She added on.
"Still, you did fail to stop all the Ships," Lady Shiva added on. "But I'm sure Master Maul won't mind a few missing Shipments."
"He may, he may not… who knows?" Jessica added on, causing the two of them to laugh. After a while, they looked to each other. "I have to admit, fighting each other, not on Earth, but at home, brought back good memories. At home, you haven't lost your edge."
"Neither have you… Jessica," Lady Shiva said. "But I can't guarantee it will always be like this. We may have to fight for real next time."
"As long as you don't hold back again, I'm down with that, as they say on Earth," Jessica said. "Now, remember… one day head-start. No more beyond that."
"Of course," Lady Shiva said before Tokoyami walked next to her. "Well-fought, old friend. Well-fought."
"You take care of her, Tokoyami," Jessica said. "She's a tough one."
"I will," Tokoyami said. "And… as much as I hate to say it… May the Force be with you."
Ahsoka and Jessica nodded. "You too." Jessica replied.
Lady Shiva grinned. "Until next time… watch out for the shadows." She said before she and Tokoyami disappeared into the shadows, with the rest of the Yiga Clan, Death Watch Devils and Vaapad Rage Cultists following after.
"We're… really letting them go?" Katooni asked.
"Smallest chance of victory, we won," Jessica said. "Only fair to share the Golden Rule."
"You're really wise, Jessica," Ahsoka said as she walked up. "Nice to see how well you've grown since coming to Earth."
"Feels good to even show it," Jessica said. "Now… let's get to work. Shei'Ten Kar will need to be at full strength to help the Allied Forces."
"I can't help but wonder…" Kid Flash said. "What is Operation Hell Saber?"
On Crait, Lady Shiva and Tokoyami bowed before Darth Maul.
"Despite the nuisance on Shei'Ten Kar, you have succeeded in bringing me half of the intended shipment of crystals," Darth Maul said as several of the Ships that came from Shei'Ten Kar arrived at the crystal mines. "Did you get what I was looking for?"
"Yes, Lord Maul," Lady Shiva said, opening up her bag to reveal a silver crystal that turned to gold before turning to red and back to silver again. She held it out in front of her, where Darth Maul used the Force to levitate it towards him. "One of the rarest Gems of Shei'Ten Kar. Just as you requested from your previous travels before the breakout of the Clone Wars."
Darth Maul looked to the gem and grinned. "Excellent," he said before using the Force to separate the gem into three different crystals, each one giving off one of the three alternating colors. "With this addition, our mission now nears its completion."
"And what of the rest of the Shadow Collective bases on the other Planets, Master?" Tokoyami asked as a probe droid with pincers floated next to her. She smiled and petted it as it floated onto her shoulder. "They are facing the same threat as we are."
"It shall no longer be a problem soon, Tokoyami," Darth Maul said. "Your six sisters had the same doubts. Now, you are the seventh, the Seventh Sister. All of you serve the greater cause of the Dark Side of the Force."
"Of course, my Masters." Tokoyami said with a respectful bow.
Author's Notes: Well, everyone, what did you think of my newest Chapter for Independence Day of 2019? Sorry for the long wait, but as I said, there was a lot going on during the move. I wanted to incorporate more elements from the new episodes of Young Justice: Outsiders that have shown, but all I could fit in was the new look for Jessica Cruz based off her appearance in Justice League vs The Fatal Five.
