Cecilia was quite teary-eyed when Wesson finally paused in his story. "How…romantic." She whispered. "I wish someone would speak to me like that." She glanced at Rudy hopefully.
"So, that's why it was called the Guardian Blade." Jack nodded. "I see now. But, I thought it was a sword?"
"History…got things mixed up, I guess. A laser back then could be called a blade now." Wesson gave a small shrug.
"Well, what happens next?" Jane asked, leaning forward a bit on her piece of rubble. "Did she marry the guy?"
Wesson looked at her. "…You're a real sucker for romance stories, aren't you?"
Jane sat back, blushing.
"I want to know what happened with the Guardian Blade." Emma said eagerly. "I had no idea it was an ARM!"
"Living Metal." Wesson reminded her. "Most things made out of Living Metal were ARMs."
"Wow." Emma leaned back, starry-eyed. "That's amazing."
Wesson gave a sardonic smile and addressed Rudy. "Is she always like this?"
"Worse, sometimes." Rudy replied softly. "She…called Lolithia 'cute'."
Wesson laughed. "Wow, really? That thing? Cute?"
Emma fumed silently.
"Well, I think I've left you in suspense long enough." Wesson chuckled a bit. "Let's continue the story. How much do you know about the dragons?"
"The wha?" Jack gave a blank look.
"Dragons were large demons that appeared near the end of the war." Emma explained. "Though they were alive, they were also vehicles. Kind of like Golems." She leaned forward, resting her hands on her knees. "Only, unlike the Golems, none of the dragons survived. Only their fossils remain, and we use them to supplement ARM repair."
"What happened to them?" Jack looked at Wesson.
"Whoa, whoa. You're jumping ahead." Wesson held up a hand. "Right now, we're going to talk about when they first appeared in their complete form."
