So, I read that a lot of you started shipping Lau and Ciel together and one or two of you requested some things about them. Right now, I'm not even sure about the pairings, so I'm giving some services for you! 😘
Chapter 25: Carelessness leads to necessity
Just as Lau predicted, a Love letter came after the newspaper printed out several deaths and wasted corpse. It looks like they were hollowed, robbed corpse.
Lau might have predicted it, but what we never expected was how mangled and disfigured each of the corpse were.
Flies started hovering around them, and they looked like they grew some mold on them.
I daintly covered my nose with a handkerchief, the smell was so strong that most of the weak stomached people couldn't stand staying near them.
"Sebastian, what do you think?" I asked him. He wrinkled his nose in disgust, a bit too elegantly, and replied.
"How disgusting" I wanted to facepalm. That was not what I was asking.
"Earl Phantomhive." I heard my name being called, so I turned around.
Ugh, him again.
"This is the Scotland Yard's duty. Why don't you return to your own business, and let us do ours." Mr. Arthur Randall (or was it Lord) said. I raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I wouldn't be called unless you weren't able to solve this." I taunted. tHiS Is tHe ScOtLAnD yARd'S dUty, I mocked in my mind.
He eyes twitched in irritation, and I turned around dramatically away from him, flicking my coat.
I held my walking stick tightly. Unlike cannon Ciel, I was able to fight with this, as well as have a hidden dagger in it, commissioned specifically for me, so I wasn't defenceless.
When I returned to the manor, the servants were hiding behind a pillar, gazing at Lau and Ran Mao who were sipping on their tea daintly. It was only Tanaka in his small form who was sitting next to them on his cushion beside them.
"Looks like you were right, Lau." I announced myself by saying that. Lau faced me with a smug face, as if he was going all 'See? I told you didn't I?'. I had the urge to smack his face with my walking stick.
"Well, I'd like a deal with you." He said once I sat down in front of him.
"The perpetrators' corpses are needed by my group, so I'd like to take them. In exchange, I'll help get rid of them." He said. I raised an eyebrow, collecting the cassis fromage cake from Sebastian, and the green tea to wash out the sweet taste from my mouth.
"How?" I asked, taking a small bite from the cake. He smiled, crossing his legs and setting his chin on his hands, which were nestled on his legs.
"Simple, I'll leave my girls here." He said. I made a face at him. "This time, there will be several enemies, you would need all the help you can get." He said. I sighed. He's right.
"Fine. I don't mind." I don't understand how cannon Ciel can stand him. Oh wait, he doesn't.
I sipped on my tea, before speaking. "Sebastian. We'll have to do information gathering." I said, not bothering to look at said demon.
"Is that an order?" I glared at him, having the urge to smash my cake towards his face, but food are precious, so his perfect face would be saved this time.
There were 6 new maids coming from Lau. Amongst them were the girls that came shopping with us. Lau had said that these 6 were the most competent assassins out of all the others.
"Wow! You're still cute as ever!" One said. Her name was Ying Yu.
"Still small as ever~" Mei Li squished my cheeks
"Very small, very cute~" Li Hua, whose English is still not good, stroked my hair.
"空儿! You're skin is so soft~" This one, Bi Yu, poked my cheeks.
"姐姐(Jiejie/ Big Sister) ! Is this 空儿(Kōng'Er)?" There were two other girls that I wasn't familiar with, and who the heck was Kōng'Er? I know that Er is the affectionate calling in Chinese, but why Kōng'Er?
"Your name means Sky in French, so to us, your name is 天空, shortened to just 空儿" Lau explained, both of us ignoring the way how 6 different girls were surrounding me.
"Kōng'Er, this is Ming'Er and this one is Mei'Er!" Mei was the one who spoke before while Ming was the one who was quiet the whole time.
"Nice to meet you. I'll look forward to working with you girls." I said pleasantly.
"No, no! Call us big sister!" Bi Yu cooed at me.
"Bi Yu 姐?" I ignored the high pitched squealing she gave out.
"It looks like the Young Master is popular with the ladies." Sebastian unnecessarily commented.
"Is Meyrin here yet?" I whined. Sebastian shook his head. I had called for Meyrin to come and help them adapt and blend in as a maid so they could take out any assilaint or some sort. But she was late.
"I'm sorry, Young Master! I'm late! Yes, I am!" Meyrin finally bursted in.
"This is Meyrin. She will show you around and teach you to blend in." I said, finally able to get out of their grips.
They started surrounding Meyrin as well. I gladly sacrificed her to the girls.
Well, this would teach her not to be late next time, I suppose.
Lau left the next day with Ran Mao while all the other girls were left here.
In their sultry form, they stood out, making Baldroy and Finnian blush furiously.
But after they adapted into the manor as a maid, they looked like they have been there for a long time. They became quiet, they didn't stand out, and they properly did all their work.
I was thankful because it meant less damages from the other house occupants. With how much Sebastian liked to use the silverwares as a weapon, I had to replace tons of them. Yes, even I needed to pay for Sebastian's 'damage fees' as well.
Hahhh, and he used to like using bullets, empty or not, as well as from his surroundings.
But one time he used it, he became hooked on it. He said that it was one of the most efficiently light and sharp, as well as the fact that nobody would ever think twice about it since he was a butler.
It may not have put a dent on my fortune, but it was still a lot of money. With everyone's damage fees, in total, there was a slight dent, but not enough to be really alarmed.
But I earn money more than I waste money. It is just too much of a waste spending money on all that.
It was too troublesome.
Sebastian and I went information gathering as well as a bit of infiltration.
We snuck into the base, Sebastian making sure that I didn't breathe in the opium with the wet mask I had to cover my mouth.
Lau had told me of the boss managing this place. He may be boss, but was only of a branch.
Women, cigars, drugs and alcohol were being passed around. Sebastian was disgusted to the point where he had to cover my eyes so I 'wouldn't be tainted by filth'.
But I shook it off in order to take proper look at how many guards they have, hidden or not, took name of each and every guests that were all big-shots, charted in my mind about the exit and the entrances with the notepad and pen I held.
With a lot of simulations and games, I knew what I had to do and what I had to avoid. It may just be simulations, but these were basics taught to everyone around who played them. So I was going to make usage of that knowledge.
Soon after, I made Sebastian sneak us out, making sure not to make a sound as he did. Buried into his chest, I looked at the notepad again. There were nobles, nouveau riches, traders, and proprietors that were participating in that...thing.
Should I bring Mr. Pitt for a huge scandal? No, I partly owe it to Lau for giving me information as well as lend me his girls, even if they were new to this business, they cost little to no damages, so I was pretty happy with them. The only time they broke something was the occasional slip in a tea cup or plate, but that was a lot better than me having to repair the house over and over again. At this point, we actually were a regular customer to the builders nearby that my ancestor had invested in so it costs less, but still a lot.
So I'll have to consult this with that idiot who doesn't bothering opening his eyes when it's inconvenient.
Well, that was after Sebastian made me take multiple flowery-herbal baths to get rid of the scent.
"Hmmm~" Lau placed a hand on his chin. "I don't need them. You can just blackmail them, while I still get the bodies." He said, waving a sleeve at me.
Are you fucking serious?
"It would be a bit difficult for me to do it…."
"But you can do it, right." That guy's eyes opened to reveal that cunning glint in his eyes. I was startled a bit before nodding.
"Separating the two matters would be rather difficult as both would inconveniently run away, so I may accidentally kill the 'guests'" I said, but then I looked at Sebastian.
"Can you do that? Restrain the 'guests' while erasing the 'filth'?" I raised an eyebrow. He placed a hand on his chest.
"If that is what you wish." He said. I looked back at Lau.
"Well, there you have it." I said, making him laugh gleefully.
"I would be joining you on the day we get rid of the 'filth'"
Joy.
I went out of Lau's opium den by the backdoor which I normally use because he was being careful of my age as well as my asthma. Only the backroom had no traces of smoke, or opium in it.
While Lau does smoke, he surprisingly doesn't take any drug. But even if he smokes, he usually has a pipe filled with dried herbal things, not that huge, ugly, lung cancer inducing thing. So I was fine with those.
At first, I thought it was weed, but he laughed at me right in the face and shoved that pipe into my mouth. It surprisingly didn't smell nor did it make me feel high.
And the thought of indirect kiss makes me want to gag.
So, I wrote a letter to the Queen, sending Sebastian off with the letter that had a copy of the things I wrote on the notepad, while I had Ying Yu and Mei Li serve me.
They were acting as proper maids right now, but would occasionally take their masks off when we were in private.
"You know, Young Master." Mei Li said out of the blue. I looked up from my paperwork to look at her as she poured tea into my empty cup. "I have never seen Master Lau ever treat anyone like that. You must be really special." She said. I frowned.
"That is because he finds me entertaining." I had a hunch that he knew my gender, so he was entertaining himself this way.
"Master Lau may be like that, but he isn't ever that nice and generous. He wouldn't had lend you to us even with mutual relationship. We earn the most amount of money, and yet instead of a normal bodyguard, he lends you us." Ying Yu spoke up, making me make a face.
"Isn't it because he wants this to end even faster? Because we are loyalties differ from one another, both of us just wants to get things done as soon as possible, as well as the fact that normal bodyguards wouldn't be good as we need someone discreet and delicate looking to the point where nobody would suspect them. Looking at Baldroy, Finnian, and Meyrin, you would never have expected them to be able to kill someone in cold blood, would you?" I countered. It wasn't long after they settled here did they encountered assassins. They didn't need to do much because of Finnian squishing them with boulders I kept around for convenience sake, while Baldroy and Meyrin shot down the rats who were trying to run away.
The girls were shocked at their cold personality compared to the goofy and clumsy persona they had. They did help with making the bodies fertilizer, though. We don't ever bury the bodies, because it would just pile up around. We would make usage and 'give back the things we took from Mother Earth' as Mother used to say when she grinded up the bodies, ignoring the blood that splattered around. I was horrified, but fascinated at the same time.
It did wonders for the plants.
But this explanation seem to have not satisfied them. But whatever, I didn't really care for their opinions. It was just a mutual business partnership between the two of us. Cannon!Ciel may have gotten help like this anyways. I didn't really want to ruin the plot just in case something even worse comes. I meant, I can prevent it, but who knows. With prevention, butterfly effect may happen and I don't ever want to consider that to happen.
The Queen had told me to just eradicate them all but make sure the reason they die was due to 'drug overdose'. It was all too simple really.
So when it was time to strike, I got out the syringe filled with an over-powered drug to the point that in a minute or so, the symptoms of death would come out as 'drug overdose'. It was something that the Green Gang had made, and personally sent so that Lau could finish his thing. So all of us, Sebastian, Lau, Ran Mao, his girls with the 6 stationed with us, and I, waited on top of the roof to be able to barge in.
I double-checked to make sure that I had put in all of the bullets as well as brought some cartridge with me and some stuffed in Sebastian's pockets right after my eyepatches, along with having stuffed a bag of chili powder and wasabi powder imported from Japan up in Lau's sleeves, much to his confusion.
Sebastian, who knew what I was going to do due to my behavior, just sighed and looked away.
3 carriages were not too far from here to transport the bodies, having transported us here.
All of us have multitudes of syringe in our arsenals, but it was a limited amount so we had to make use of it.
So, when the time did come when the bodyguard start to change shifts, we struck.
The girls went in first. Lau just calmly walked behind them, as if he wasn't going to kill people. He may know some martial art, but this guy is a lazy pig so he doesn't really bother much.
I stared at him incredulously as I shot at a man who was closing in on him, ignoring the one coming at me as I knew Sebastian had him.
"Well, since most of them are going to be high, once we get in, it's going to be easy as cake." I looked at him like he was stupid.
"It's 'easy as pie'"
"Like I said, cheesecake." I had the urge to strangle him.
So once we got into the building, it was easier than the outside as everyone is busy being high. I stood outside, making sure to fan the smelly and disgusting air before I dared to go in. But I didn't have to do much.
The girls had already slaughtered their way in, syringe stuck deep inside the 'guests'.
"What about the prostitutes?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"You don't need them, I don't need them. So it's kinder to get rid of them." He said.
"It looks like the star of the show had come." Sebastian interrupted, making us look towards where he was looking.
It was that small-time boss, who looked horrified and hysterically ordered the team of thugs behind him to capture all of us, intending to make the girls his slaves. How disgusting.
So I grab a hold of the man's sleeves and shoved my way up there, searching for the packet I put in there and ignoring the flirty remarks from him. What the hell man, I might appreciate it in the future, but I was still 12 going on 13.
Lau and Sebastian rushed in to help the girls once they were out-numbered. I stood there, not knowing what to do. So I aimed carefully. When the opportunity, I shot at the crotch of the boss, fist pumping in victory when I heard him howl in pain.
Shooting more in between the legs, I walked closer and closer to them, getting rid of some by Bartitsu and the classic neck twist.
Having to be forcefully ducked down by Lau as he reached for a goon beside me, I pressed the trigger at the guy aiming for Lau from behind.
I immediately tore open the packet of chili powder, distracting them enough to be easily killed off.
The screams of chili pain was pretty funny. As well as the wasabi when it got into their eyes.
Soon, we made a pile of corpses stacked right there.
We we went further in to check on the backroom, it went 5 different ways.
All of us separated at this point. Lau and Ran Mao, Mei Li and Ying Yu, Bi Yu and Liu Ha, Mei and Ming, the two other girls that were back ups, and finally, Sebastian and I.
I silently refilled my bullets in each and every guns I had. Waiting for Sebastian to cue that everything was clear.
Seems like we found more guests. Both of us quickly stuck in the syringe into them, waiting for them to silently die. But then suddenly, someone bursted from the closet door with a scissor. I dodged, but my eyepatch got nicked a bit. That ugly ass dude started screaming on how I was the devil.
"Really? You don't have a say in it due to you commiting a lot of sins." I said. It reminded me of that vine: 'Welcome to bible studies, we're all children of Jesus. Kumbaya, my Lord.'
The guy started being even more a hysterical pain in the ass as he backed up the more I came closer to him.
This was getting too annoying. So I got out the syringe and stabbed him at the legs, making him scream.
He soon convulsed by the time I took it out.
Sebastian called out to us, saying that he'll fetch the carriage, and soon disappeared.
"What a good work out, wasn't it?" Lau rhetorically asked the girls.
"I'm kind of sad that I have to be away from Kōng'Er after this." Li Hua pouted.
"Right?" Bi Yu looked at the others before pouncing on me. "Kōng'Er! Should you need any assistance or anything, just tell Master Lau and he'll send us to you in a jiff!"
"Thanks."I said, patting on her hand to let me go as her pillows were suffocating me.
I thanked them, and left home. Little did I know, it wasn't the last of it

Somehow, I feel like Sebastian didn't appear much. He is just there. Lol, and I was just reading a BL dj and when I saw the words 'stuck deep', I thought I just wrote in a lemon. But no.
