IMPORTANT!
As you may have noticed, I have changed my pen name from RawrDannisaur to Danni Kuran. I've also updated my bio. Sorry for any confusion or inconveniences.
I also wanted to ask how many of you have seen Thor 2: The Dark World yet? I've seen it and I loved it! But please no spoilers in the reviews. If you want to actually talk about what happened, just PM me.
In this chapter you'll find out what Sigyn said to Loki as she left him.
Okay with that out of the way, I suppose it's time for the usual.
Enjoy and review! xx.
"Foolishly ending your courtship with the Prince of all men," Freya spat at her daughter as she paced the room while Sigyn sat on the bed she was sharing with Sif. "How could you be so selfish?"
Syn and Sjofn laughed, standing by the closed doors elegantly. Syn spoke first. "Truly selfish, Sigyn, I'll be you didn't even take us into consideration!"
"We needed this marriage you foolish idiot!" Sjofn joined in. Tears formed in Sigyn's eyes and she fought to keep them from falling. "Do you not care of what will become of us, your family?"
"No." Sigyn muttered under her breath. Freya's eyes widened in rage.
"I beg your pardon, Sigyn?" She snapped. "What did you just say to your little sister?"
"Nothing, Mother." Sigyn said louder. She looked up at her mother who was dressed in a light pink gown that was fairly low cut. She reminded Sigyn of Amora in that moment, though she wouldn't dare voice that thought aloud.
Syn and Sjofn stuck their tongues out at Sigyn behind Freya, who was about to continue her lecture before the doors opened, almost knocking Sigyn's sisters over, revealing Lady Sif. Freya and her daughters, pardon Sigyn, immediately turned to face the female warrior who didn't at all look pleased with their presence.
"Lady Sif," Freya smiled with all the kindness and sweetness she could muster while being in such a terrible mood. "It has been a while."
"It has been since last night, Freya." Sif replied, not too interested in Freya.
"Oh, of course, Lady Sif," Freya forced a chuckle. "I meant that it has been a while since we have properly spoken."
"We're speaking now." Sif snapped back. Sigyn straightened up on the bed. "What brings you to my quarters without permission?"
"Oh, well Sigyn doesn't mind-"
"Sigyn is a guest in my quarters and has no proper say in who is and is not permitted to enter. Only I have that power."
Sigyn knew that Freya could sense Sif's pure hostility so her sisters and mother filed out of the room slowly, the doors remaining open, unclosed by the guards that weren't there. Sif had told Sigyn that warriors didn't get to be guarded; only the royal family and their honored guests had that privilege.
"Thank you, Sif." Sigyn said as she slowly rose from her sitting position on the edge of the bed and walked over to Sif, who did the same and met her halfway.
"Are you alright?" Sif asked.
"Of course," Sigyn asked. "I have grown used to their constant-"
"I didn't mean them," Sif cut her off. After a few moments of silence she spoke again. "I meant are you okay after Loki?"
"Of course I am." Sigyn smiled.
"Very well." Sif nodded her head and turned to leave. She paused in the doorframe. "I will be out training if you need me."
With that, Sif left but Sigyn didn't miss the concerned look plastered on Sif's face that she'd tried so desperately to hide, for Sigyn's sake.
A day had passed since Sigyn had left and Loki hadn't left his quarters. He now lay on his back on the large bed; it felt even larger now without Sigyn occupying it beside him. It felt softer without her added weight. Too soft. Loki found himself beginning to miss her scent on the sheets.
He started playing with one of Sigyn's bracelets that she'd left behind as he stared at the ceiling of his quarters, lost in thought. The words she'd said to him were echoing through his mind, the words that had ended their courtship officially.
Loki listened to Sigyn as she spoke the words that he knew could not be good. The mere fact that Sif was standing beside her protectively was bad enough a sign already.
"Loki," Sigyn said softly. Her voice sounded smooth, like honey, like it always did. "What you did was unacceptable and selfish."
Loki had to hold back from yelling at her, he couldn't worsen the situation any more than he already had. He cleared his throat before speaking. "I know, but you have to try and see it from my-"
"I have tried to see it from your perspective and even then what you did was atrocious." She had told him. Her eyes were glassy at this point, shimmering with the tears that he was causing.
"Did you come here to end our courtship then?" He'd asked, his voice breaking slightly. He had almost forgotten that Sif was in the room until she'd cleared her throat and Sigyn answered his question with an answer that he'd been dreading.
"Yes."
"You're leaving?" His voice broke.
"Yes."
And that was when his face fell and he made no attempt to hide it, Lady Sif or not. Sigyn turned to go to the bedchamber and collect her things. Before she reached the doorframe he whispered at her. "Very well."
Very well indeed. Loki couldn't believe what had happened, he was still in shock. By law she was still his, the All-Father hadn't yet given any consent to the end of her courtship with his son. She still belonged to him, for now, and if Loki could have his way, she'd be his for all eternity. And she would be, in time.
