Firepaw listened, as he could see nothing, to cats talking amongst themselves. "They would be great warriors under my rule." Thornstar's voice tried to sway the cats to agree to his terms.
Firepaw weaved himself through the crowded space. as he got there, he saw his father moving towards the skyclan leader, Russetkit on his back.
"You want your grandkits? Here's the only one still alive." He growled setting Russetkit on the ground, she heaved herself to her forepaws. Her twisted back laying still.
He arrived at the front, watching as Thornstar looked down in terror and surprise. "WHAT happened!" the thickset brown tabby exclaimed.
"A bolt of lightning struck the high rock, and crushed her backbone, making her half paralyzed, this is the second to last cat in your bloodline, this is your proposed great warrior!" Lynxclaw growled.
Thornstar scanned the camp, looking high and low, before landing on firepaw and looking him right in the eye. "Nice try, Lynxclaw, but you lie. I can clearly see another, alive and well, right there." he meowed smiling.
Lightpaw stepped in-between Thornstar and Firepaw. "I think not, he is a ThunderClan apprentice, and he is not going anywhere." She growled.
Thornstar's facial expression changed again. "This is not yours to decide, any of you have no say, it is up to Froststar." He growled harshly.
Firepaw looked right at Froststar, the leader was deep in thought. Then she rose her head. "Your offers are welcome, but the outcome is not, you are not their only blood left. Lynxclaw is here as well and so he has the guardianship permission to give away. What do you think?" she asked, turning to Lynxclaw.
"This foxheart is selfish; I say nay, let us find somewhere else if that is what he wants." The bluish gray tom responded.
Roseclaw stepped forward. "What do you think is the question, Froststar?" She reminded the leader.
Froststar nodded. "Right, right."
"You test my patience, ThunderClan, Deal?" Thornstar growled.
Froststar looked at her paws. "Deal." She agreed.
Thornstar looked up. "Then, the warriors, apprentices, queens, and elders dens are off limits, there are more spaces for you to take, all of you, except for my grandkits, the broken one may stay with the elders, the tom may stay in the apprentices den. But, what is your names?" he asked firepaw and Russetkit.
"Firepaw." Firepaw answered.
"Russetkit." Russetkit grumbled.
Firepaw stepped forward to support Russetkit to the elders den, but In the background, he heard this.
"Thornstar, if they are allowed to switch clans while they are here now, I want to take a leave as well." A small lithe she-cat with a white underbelly and black and gray mottled fur stretching from her forehead to the tip of her tail meowed to the tom.
"You are already SkyClan." Thornstar told her.
"Not to join SkyClan, but to join ThunderClan." The she-cat responded.
"HA, what make you want to do that, Chasepaw?" Thornstar growled.
The she-cat looked right up. "The fact that I, was forced to become a medicine cat apprentice against my will, by my own grandfather, and leader!" Chasepaw growled.
"You have no blood ties to ThunderClan, they do have ties to us..."
The conversation was drained out as they left earshot of the two.
