Chapter 24

EPOV

Today only two of the three vampires were at school. Where was the other?

As I waited for my siblings, I saw the two get into their car. The boy seemed to be very protective of the girl. They were mates. It was obvious.

I sighed and shook my head trying to get the memories out of my head.

Alice and Jasper entered the car and Rosalie and Emmett drove home in Rosalie's Convertible.

" So, where do you think the other girl was today?" Alice asked, leaning forward.

" How should I know?" I snapped back.

She backed off and raised her hands in defence. "Well, you're the mind reader. Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." She giggled.

" Sorry."

Alice sighed and began to talk to Jasper.

"Alice?"

I didn't notice the silence until after Jasper had called to her. I looked back. She had a blank look in her eyes for about a second then she began to look around.

"Alice? Are you okay."

She stared at him for a second then responded. "Ugh, ugh yea."

"Did you have a vision?" I asked.

"Where is Esme today?"

"Ugh…I believe she went out shopping for a new bed. Said the old one was squeaky."

Alice sighed. "Why?" I asked.

"She should have stayed in the house today." I tried to scan her thoughts but she was thinking of patterns that Esme might have picked out for her bed comforter.

"Let me in, Alice."

She didn't respond.

"Is Esme okay?"

"Yup."

"Then what's wrong?" I was beginning to get frustrated.

She just looked out the window and ignored me. I kept glancing back to make sure she was okay. As I drove up the long driveway, I couldn't help but have a feeling something was wrong.

I parked the car and got out. I went up to my room and immediately felt like something was wrong. I looked around he room and everything was in place. I looked at the walls and…

A growl escaped my lips. The guitar was gone.

"Where is it!" I growled as I ran out of my room. I raced down to where Alice was.

" Where is it Alice?" I hissed.

She stayed calm. "I don't know."

" But you had a vision! Where is it Alice!?" I hissed again.

"I only saw it missing, so calm down."

It was Saturday and no one had found it. Esme searched around the whole house and never found it. Carlisle was playing '' and kept asking me useless questions like "When did you last see it?" and "Who would have taken it?" I was starting to get bothered.

I was sitting in the living room with Alice when she had a vision.

I was walking. Passing large, skinny stones, in the shape of…rectangles? What were they? Then, the scenery turned, like now I was looking through my own eyes. It was a cemetery and what I was passing were tomb stones. I began walking again. I passed the names of people I knew almost 100 years ago. I kept walking until I came to the one I was looking for: Isabella Swan.

"Wow." Was the only thing Alice said when the vision was over.
