"Something different means something special."
"Hi!"
Oum had walked out to the kitchen to make breakfast, only to find Ruby waving at him from the dining table. What took him by surprise, however, was the thing she said.
She said something.
That was a start.
"Hi!"
"Hi," Oum responded, and he smiled when Ruby giggled.
"Hi!"
Oum had decided to wash his face and went to the bathroom, only to find Weiss floating in a small bucket of water in the bathtub. She wore a humorously fitting bath towel as she waved at him.
"Hi!"
"Hi," Oum responded, and Weiss made an open smile and waved frantically at him.
"Hi!"
"Hi."
"Hi!"
"…Hi?"
"Hi-"
Before Weiss went on any further, however, she noticed something that felt off. She had waved with enough force to make a small whirlpool in the bucket, swinging her around like a puppet tied to a truck.
"H-HI! HI! HIII!" Weiss squeaked fearfully as her world spun around chaotically. Oum put down the toothpaste and toothbrush he held and gently caught Weiss in the tiny whirlpool. He lifted her and let the water settle down before putting her back in the bucket.
"Th…Thank," Weiss managed to let out.
The animator smiled. "Thanks?" He corrected her. The snowy Schnee stared at him before her face brightened.
"Thanks!"
"Yup."
"Thank!"
It was going to take a while to fix her thanking.
Blake nibbled on a small fish Sheena had cleaned for her at the dining table. She ate alone because her friends were too busy watching some television show with Sheena.
Having finished a good amount of work, Oum left his room to drink some water. Blake's eyes trailed over to Oum's direction.
Her eating slowed down as she chewed the small piece of fish she had nibbled off. Opening her mouth, Blake whispered,
"Hi."
The animator did not hear her. Blake tried again, raising her voice a bit.
"Hi."
As Oum stopped drinking from the bottle of water, the small Faunus opened her mouth and remained still for a moment. Gathering a bit more strength for her voice, she finally managed to squeak out something noticeable.
"Hi…!"
Turning to Blake, Oum waved at her. The dark-haired girl felt warm as she waved back with a small smile.
She made sure not to tell Oum where Yang was, however. Standing on top of the fridge, Yang leapt and landed on the animator's head, sprawling her arms and legs as she giggled.
Oum plucked Yang off of his head and stared at the supercharged package of fun in his hand. Yang let out a quick "Hi!" He simply ruffled her long hair with a finger and put her on the dining table with Blake.
"What're they watching?" Oum asked Sheena as he walked over to the sofa. Along with Ruby and Weiss, Jaune and Nora stared at the television box with wonder and awe. Sheena shrugged as the main character spoke in a language neither Monty nor Sheena knew of; the English subtitles were their only hope in understanding what the characters said.
The tiny miracles did not need to understand something to enjoy it, however. As soon as a fight scene broke out, they all squealed and jumped up and down whenever something exciting happened.
After watching the movie for a while, Jaune tore his gaze off of the television box before looking up. He blinked when Oum looked down and met his gaze.
"Hi!" Jaune said with a cheeky smile. "Hi, hi, hi!" Nora joined in when she noticed the animator.
"Hi."
Nora giggled as Jaune scratched the back of his head.
Meanwhile, Weiss continued to try fixing her habit of saying "Thank" instead of "Thanks."
