Chapter 24: I'm So Pathetic

After the dinner, Isabelle and Tora went back to a villa by the beach owned by the Igarashi family, and they were welcomed by a line of servants that is to serve them for their vacation.

"We've prepared a bath for the two of you just as you instructed, Tora-sama," the Butler approached.

"Thanks. Well, Isabelle, I'll be in my room if ever you need me. Enjoy the bath they prepared for you," Tora regards Isabelle before disappearing at the hallway that leads to his room.

"Isabelle-sama, I'll help you with the bath," one of the maids offered.

"Thank you," Isabelle replied with a sweet smile. "May I just ask, where's Gerry?"

"He left a little bit earlier. He said he's supposed to meet someone nearby," the maid replied.

"I see."

*sigh*Hefinally gets a vacation and all he thinks aboutiswork... He should take a break once in a while.

Isabelle decided to head to the veranda that overlooks the ocean to relax. Little did she know that there was someone else there, and it completely caught her off guard.

*gasp* "Oh my gosh. Don't scare me like that, Gerry," she exclaimed.

*chuckle* "That was not my intention," he replied.

"It's pretty late to be meeting someone for work, don't you think?"

"Work," puzzled, Gerry asked.

"Didn't you meet someone earlier for work?"

"Aaah, that. It's not necessarily work."

Isabelle was silent, pondering on who might it be he's meeting privately here in Okinawa. Gerald noticed her mixed expression, so he went ahead and clarified any misunderstanding, "I met Takumi."

"Huh?"

"I should greet my brother once in a while too, you know. He might've forgotten about me. I also reminded him of grandfather's wishes. Especially now, since he's out and about with another girl."

"I... see..."

"You don't seem to be happy," Gerald remarks. "I'm just making sure the princess gets what she wants, right?"

*giggle* "That's right, or else I'll throw a fit, you know. Then, if it all falls through according to plan, should I start calling you onii-chan?"

*chuckle* "That's a bit..."

In the middle of their conversation, Gerald's phone loudly rang.

"Looks like the queen's calling," Isabelle teased.

"Sorry, I'll go ahead. And you, don't stay out 'til late."

"Okay, okay, onii-chan."

"Hello, Liz..." Gerald went back inside, as he answer his phone.

"Onii-chan, huh? This is so pathetic," Isabelle laughed. "I'm so pathetic," she continued as she balls herself on the seat, hugging her knees as close as she can.

[Around the same time, at Takumi and Misaki's suite]

In the dark room, nothing can be heard nor can be seen. Only the shadows of the two, combining into one, just as how their feelings were. Their gentle kiss was short but it conveyed everything. The hurt, the pain, the care, the understanding, and the love they feel for each other. Takumi and Misaki have shared many kisses, but this had to be the most intimate one.

As they parted Takumi gazed at Misaki, only to find her amber eyes watery. "What's wrong," he worriedly asked as he wiped her tears away.

"Uun, n-nothing," Misaki replied, as she continued to sob.

"Sshh. You don't have to cry for me," Takumi said, patting her head, but Misaki did not stop from crying.

Upon seeing the girl, known for her strong personality, crying endlessly, Takumi held her close and tight.

He then kissed her on the crown of her head as he continued to soothe. Misaki, on the other hand, reciprocated the hug, and clung firmly onto Takumi.

What's wrong with me? Why won't my tears stop already? This is so not like me.Misaki thought to herself, as she continued to bawl her eyes out, secured in the arms of the most special guy in her life.

Takumi released Misaki from his clutches after she calmed down, and went ahead to wipe her tears away, once again. "Are you okay now," he asked.

"Yeah. Thank you," Misaki timidly replies.

"Funny how you were the one who cried for me," Takumi chuckled.

"S-shut up," annoyed, Misaki hit him on the chest.

"Ow."

"Did it hurt," Misaki worriedly asked.

"Y-yeah."

"S-sorry," Misaki gently caressed the part she punched. "Does it still hurt?"

"Yeah."

Misaki fussed over Takumi, which greatly amused the guy. "Ow," Takumi then playfully pretended to be hurt.

"It still hurts?"

"No, not there. Here."

"Huh? I didn't hit you anywhere el..se.." Misaki looked up and saw Takumi pointing to his lips with his signature mischievous smile. Irritated by his cockiness, Misaki shoved her hands on his face and said, "I guess you're all better now." But as she did, Takumi accidentally bit his tongue, making him really cry for pain.

"Hmph. You brought that to yourself."

"Okay, okay. It was my fault this time. I'm sorry," Takumi replied and headed to the kitchen. Misaki followed soon after.

Takumi's tongue stung as he drank water, and the pain showed on his face. Feeling the guilt from her violent behavior, Misaki approached him and said, "Let me see."

"Huh?"

"Let me see your cut."

"Oh. That. It's alright, it doesn't hurt," Takumi replied.

"Liar. It hurts from just drinking water, right?"

Takumi saw how worried Misaki was, and couldn't just brush it off. "I'm fine. It'll heal in no time," he reassured the girl, but it was obvious that she wasn't satisfied. "Unless you have a way to heal it," he suggested with mischief in his eyes.

Misaki side glanced then replied, "I... I think I do have a way to heal it."

This surprised Takumi. Usually she would angrily counter his remarks.

"Show me your tongue," Misaki commanded. "Also, close your eyes," Misaki added.

Takumi wasn't sure where this was heading, but he obediently did as instructed. He was anxious on what she was gonna do. It was silent for a moment, then Takumi heard some shuffling.

"This might hurt but just bear it, okay?"

The anticipation hurt, and not seeing anything made Takumi's heart pound hard in his chest. Then, he felt granules on his cut, followed by a stinging sensation, worse that what the water did. "Oow," he bolted.

"I told you it's gonna hurt," Misaki said.

"W-what..? Salt?"

"Yeah. It's supposed to heal cuts in the mouth faster," Misaki nonchalantly said.

Takumi was dumbfounded at first, but after seeing Misaki's serious he couldn't help but laugh. Laugh at himself, who expected something more.

Later in the night, a sound of a ringing phone echoed through the silent living room of Takumi and Misaki's suite. The noise was ignored by the two who were comfortably sleeping on the couch, close to each other. They decided to spend their last night in Okinawa with a movie marathon night, however, by the middle of their fourth movie, sleepiness won the two over.

Despite the peaceful state of the two, the phone did not stop from its ringing, and soon after another phone rang in unison with the other. The sound was loud enough to make Takumi stir and wake up from his sleep.

Who the heck is calling at this time...?

He thought as he hesitantly released the sleeping beauty from his protective arms.

"Mmmm...Ta..kumi...," Misaki mumbled, as she stirs a bit.

"Sshh.. I'll be back."

Takumi stood up and went to search for their phones. Misaki's phone was close by, on the coffee table, while his phone was on the kitchen counter. Turning on the lights in the kitchen, he looked at the screens to see who would call the both of them simultaneously. On his phone was the name of a person he hates, his brother, while on Misaki's was Tora's name. Both names irritated Takumi, so at first he decided to ignore the calls. The ringing stopped, but started soon after.

"Whatever, I'll just answer this one," Takumi said, as he presses the button on Misaki's phone. "What do you want?"

"Oh, this got connected," the person on the other end said. "Hello, Misaki?"

"It's me," Takumi replied.

"Oh, hey, Takumi. Sorry for the late call, but it's an emergency... Did Isabelle contact you by any chance?"

Takumi looked through his phone if ever he missed any messages or calls from the lady, then replied, "No, nothing from her."

"Is that so..? The truth is she's gone missing."

"Huh?"

And there you have it. Sorry if it's a little short. Please don't forget to review and give me your thoughts. :)
