Sam's P.O.V:
It was like any other day on the res, most of the guys were out on patrol and any who weren't were attempting to catch up on their missed sleep. And i was with Will, just sat watching a movie since she told me i needed to relax before my next shift and she refused to join me in the bedroom to relieve my stress, claiming it's be better if i saved it for that night. Not that i was really complaining.
"Sam, do you think you're ever going to be able to get rid of the leech?" I heard Will ask in a small voice as she leaned her back on my chest, her shoulder on my head. She was looking up at me with worried eyes as she adjusted her glasses so they didn't fall off.
I knew that she was worried one of us were going to get hurt and i hated to think of her worrying so much about any of us. "Of course we are babe, it's out job to get rid of those leeches and we'll do the same for her." I told her in an honest voice as she raised her eyebrows at me. "I know we haven't yet but the pack still isn't set yet so we have to keep changing everything to adjust for the new guys who are starting too." I told her and she nodded her head with a sigh, nope, that didn't work out well. "Come on, stop worrying okay? You're going to make yourself ill if you carry on like this." I told her as i gently kissed her cheek, then her nose and finally her lips.
She giggled when i did this and i couldn't help but smile when i saw her stop worrying. "Okay, so i'm guessing Quil is next on the list to phase?" She asked, no longer paying attention to the movie.
"Yeah, we've been keeping an eye on him. Might still be a few weeks though." I told her and saw her nod sadly. It was well know that both Jake and Embry wanted nothing more than for Quil to phase because he had been their best friend for forever. And so for them to be separated in such a way was cruel but they were glad he would be back with them soon. We all were, they were starting it get a little too whiny about it.
Just as she was about to reply the phone began ringing and i groaned and slumped down on the sofa, can't get a moment's peace around here. Will smiled at my childish display before giving me a quick kiss on the cheek and getting up to answer the phone.
She stood in the doorway and looked at me as i listened to just her side of the conversation. "Hi Sue." She began with a smile that quickly faded, causing me to sit up straighter. "Oh god, no of course i will. You don't worry just try and calm them down. No i'll get dad and we'll be straight over okay? Good, give me twenty minutes and just keep everybody calm." She told the older woman in a rushed voice obviously not wanting to waste time. And with a final 'goodbye' she hung up the phone and looked at me with tears in her eyes.
I immediately went over and pulled her into a tight hug and tried to calm her down, but that didn't seem to work. So instead i gently turned her head up to look at me. "Will, i need you to tell me what's wrong, what happened?" I asked in a calm voice as she looked up at me, still crying.
"It's Harry, Sue said he was out hunting and he had a heart attack. He didn't make it Sam..." She told me in a whisper and i felt tears begin to well up in my own eyes at the thought. Not Harry, he was a good man, an honest one who didn't deserve to die, not when he had so much left to live for. "It's not just that, she's worried about Seth now, says he's really angry and hot too. She thinks he might phase early and she's worried Leah might accidentally push him to it." She said as she gently wiped away a few of my tears that i hadn't even noticed.
All i knew right now was that Sue needed somebody there for her and i needed to get the pack there to make sure that Seth was going to be alright. We both then began getting ready to leave and i called Paul and Embry, who weren't on patrol, and quickly explained the situation and asked for them to meet us outside of the Clearwater's. When i was done with the call i saw Will waiting by the door, still wiping the tears off her face.
All i could do was hold her close as i drove us over to hers to pick up Billy who was already waiting outside with tears in his eyes but there was no sign of Jake. Will was quick to question this when Billy said he was the one who was chasing the leech when she passed the hunters and he was still off trying to catch her. But i had a feeling it was something more than that, he wasn't stupid enough to go after her whilst he was on his own.
We quickly helped Billy into my truck before i drove off to the Clearwater's and i noticed there were already a fair few people there but they quickly moved out of the way when they saw who was in my truck with me. I pulled up right in front of the house and spotted the rest of the pack apart from Jake and i knew Will and Billy were worried. Hell i was worried. What if that leech had gotten to him? None of us would have been able to help him or even know if he was in trouble.
Billy was helped out of the truck and he was quick into the house with Will and i hot on his heels. Once inside i saw Sue sat with Old Quil on the sofa as Leah sat in one of the arm chairs and Seth was pacing at the back of the room. And that was where my focus went, knowing that it was better to leave Sue in Will and Billy's hands. They dealt better with these types of things.
They both went and hugged the woman who was crying so much and i noticed Will whisper something to Billy which i heard to be 'you take care of her, we've got Seth and Leah' and i narrowed my eyes when Seth also turned as she spoke. Could he hear that well already? He was closer to phasing that i had thought, i was sure that Sue was just exaggerating because of the shock of Harry, but perhaps she was right.
Will then looked between Leah and Seth before looking at me for some kind of help. I knew that she would want to be there for Leah since they were pretty much sisters and that she would want to comfort her. But the only problem with that was that i was sure Leah still doesn't like her and nobody here needed an argument right now, especially one between Will and Leah who could possibly come to physical blows if one of them said the wrong thing.
Then again i didn't really want her near Seth if he was so close to phasing, this is when he'll be at his most unstable and all of his emotions will be all over the place. However Will seemed to have this talent for knowing exactly what to say and do for one of us when we were angry or upset and i had a gut instinct that Seth would never hurt her. She was like his big sister and i knew he would never be able to do it or live with himself if he did. So i shifted my gaze to Seth before looking back to see her nod.
The rest of the room remained quiet as Will went over to Seth, obviously he had had an outburst earlier and everybody was wear about approaching him. But not my imprint. Instead she gave him a sad smile as they watched each other for a moment, sizing each other up, before they pulled one another into a tight hug. It was easy to heard both of their loud crying as Seth began mumbling about how unfair it was and how his father didn't deserve that.
It only served to make everybody else cry too, even me. Seth was always such a happy and bubbly kid, even when things were bad or sad he would make it seem just that little bit better. So to see him heartbroken and sobbing was enough to make anybody's heart break never mind those of us who knew him really well.
I then took a glance at Leah and saw her visibly shaking and i began to panic. She couldn't be near phasing, could she?! There had never been a female spirit warrior before and it was stated that women only passed on the gene anyway! I saw Old Quil give me a stern look as Will nodded too as she turned Seth around so if he happened to look up he wouldn't see me anywhere near his sister. Like most people, he didn't really like me too much after i broke up with Leah and with his anger all over the place right now i didn't want to risk anybody. So i decided i had to just get her around the back with the guys.
"Leah, can i talk to you out back quickly?" I asked her in what i hoped was a calm voice, nope, wasn't quiet enough apparently.
Everybody in the room turned to give me either a shocked or confused look, including Leah who looked more stunned that she ever had before. Old Quil and Billy were not shocked but completely confused because i guess they thought i'd be staying to watch over Seth but he wasn't the worry anymore. Then there was Sue who was shocked that her tears had momentarily stopped as she looked from her daughter to me and then back to Leah. Then there was Will who suddenly looked panicked and i knew exactly what was going on in her mind, the vile things leech lover had told her during their fight were suddenly going through her head and i wanted to just pull her into a hug and tell her that no girl would ever be nearly as perfect as her. And finally there was Seth who was looking at me confused, but that soon gave way to his anger and i saw him shaking too as his arms were still hugging Will.
I knew Will, Old Quil and Billy had all see his shaking too and maybe even Leah. But to know that he could possibly phase with my imprint in his arms just made me snap. No way was that going to happen.
So with those protective thoughts going through my head i marched up to the younger boy, grabbed his right elbow and steered him out of the house via the backdoor. And once we were in the garden i saw all of the others had already come around to the back too and Seth was shaking even more now. I had gotten him out of the house at just the right time.
Jared tried to tell him to calm down and that was the last straw as he suddenly phased into a shorter sandy coloured wolf who looked around at all of us completely confused and helpless. He then began to whine as he kept looking around the group, obviously not feeling too comfortable with any of us.
His whining though had gotten Leah's attention and Will followed her out telling her to be careful and not go shouting and screaming at anybody. Of course this just made her angrier and we all watched as Leah phased into a large grey wolf who stood just off the back porch and all of us were shocked. We couldn't believe that a girl had actually phased and now she was going to be in our heads all of the time, brilliant.
Will then looked at me with wide eyes as Seth stood up and began walking over to Will but i was quick to stand in front of him, i didn't want to chance him hurting my imprint.
"Oh Seth, come here you." Will said as she walked straight towards him and hugged his large neck as he curled his head around her back too, pulling her as close as he could. She was whispering reassuring words to him as we all turned our attention from the pair to Leah who was watching her brother and Will completely confused. I decided that Jared and i would phase in order to explain everything to the pair of them properly.
So two hours later Seth and Leah were both asleep with the promise they would be over at Will and i's tomorrow so we can sort out all of the details. Sue was now a lot calmer and talking to Old Quil and Billy about what they were going to do in order to sort out who was going to take over Harry's place on the council. That then left the pack, Will and i. I decided that they could all have the night off and they were all about to head home when Jacob came running over to us with a worried look on his face.
"Bella's gone to Italy with a Cullen," We all tensed up at the mention of them but i knew they were confused. "Something about saving Edward. They're back now, the Cullen's are back in town and they want to meet with all of us tomorrow to discuss the red headed leech or something." He finished and began shaking until Will walked over and gave him a tight hug which calmed him down instantly.
I looked over at the others who looked pretty sceptical about the whole thing but i refused to do so. I didn't want to meet them whilst we were in our human form and without their mind reader it would be a pretty pointless meeting anyway. And i refused to take Will to help translate or talk not to mention we've just added Seth and Leah to the pack and it was going to take all of us a lot of time to adjust.
"No, we'll meet them when it fits us best, we've stayed and protected everybody whilst they took off because they didn't want to look after a human anymore. We'll meet them in a week, everything should be a little calmer by then." I told them all in a stern voice as i pulled Will into my arms as she hugged me tightly and yawned, yup she needed to go home and sleep. Hell we all did, it'd been one hell of a rough day for all of us to be honest.
Will then nodded and looked at the guys with a tired smile. "See you all no earlier than 10 because i'm tired and i need my sleep. I'll have brownie's ready for Seth and Leah and you guys are going to be nice to Leah okay?" They all nodded like obedient puppies and smiled as they gave her hugs and me a quick bye before leaving. "Come on you, i know we both need to sleep this whole ordeal off." She told me with a sad smile as i nodded and we headed home for the night.
