It was hard watching the four of them leave; Kate worried about all of them and wanted to be going with. But like Dean and Bobby said if she wanted to be a hunter she had to help out in any way that she could. And right now that meant research. They needed to know everything they could find about this yellow eyed demon.

A few hours later Kate was sitting at the kitchen table with the laptop on and five different books open. She was having a hard time keeping her eyes to stay open. Getting up Kate went over to the coffee maker to brew another pot. Standing in front of the brewer she heard her phone vibrate from where it was sitting on the table.

"Hello?" Kate opened the phone without looking at who was calling.

"How you doing?" Bobby's voice came from the other end.

"About ready to caffeinate myself, so I'm good. The research on the other hand is going nowhere." She picked up her mug and went back over to the coffee brewer to wait for it to finish brewing as she talked with Bobby.

"Keep plugging away."

"I will. How are you all?" Kate wondered.

"We're maken' good time. Should be to our location by tonight if we don't have to stop much." Kate nodded her head, she was to sleep deprived to realize that Bobby couldn't see her. "Have there been any "special" phone calls." He asked.

"None, like you said everything seems to be quiet."

"Yeah too quiet for my liking." He replied. "Keep at it Kate and let us know if you find anything."

"Will do Bobby. Stay safe and keep me informed." Kate said before they said goodbye and hung up the phone. By this time the coffee was done, she filled up her mug before going back over to the table.

It was just after lunch when Kate sent Sam a text telling him that she was still coming up with nothing. She was running out of books and web pages to look at; but she wasn't going to stop till she knew that this demon was gone for good.

As the hours passed by Kate was getting more and more nervous. She was still coming up with nothing and the rest of the group was getting closer to their location.

Looking up at the clock Kate saw that it was almost five and she had gone through every book that bobby had. And she was doing anything she could to find webpages that might be of any help. But like everything else she was still coming up empty. Picking up her phone she dialed Bobby.

"Hey Kid, you find anything?" He asked hopeful.

"Sorry Bobby. I ran out of books at your place and the internet isn't being of any use." She said slamming the top of her computer down.

"It was a long shot, but thanks for trying."

"At least you have the colt." Kate said with hope in her voice.

"Yeah, let's hope it works on him, like we think."

"Is there anything else I can do?" Kate asked, she didn't want to just sit around and wait for this hunt to be finished.

"Just work the phones for me. And if you do find something…"
"I'll call you." She finished for him.

"Thanks again Kate."

"No problem Bobby, just wish I could have been more help."

"You've been a big help. Call you when we're done." Bobby said before hanging up.

Kate set her phone down on the table and stared at it. She couldn't just sit around and wait for them to call her. She would end up driving herself crazy. She went back into the living room and started looking at the books again. This time she was going to look up information on the crossroad demons. If Dean didn't want to tell her about his deal she would find out herself.

Taking a book from the shelf she went back into the kitchen. If she sat on the sofa now she would fall asleep. Which she wasn't going to do till she knew that the job was finished and everyone was ok.

After paging through a few books Kate found one that was about crossroad deals.

"Oh my god!" Kate called out, she stood up and started passing the room. She couldn't believe what she had just read. Dean wasn't just giving over his soul when he died…he was letting the demon take his life to get his soul, in ten years.

Too many questions filled up Kates mind. She wasn't able to think straight about any of this. But one thought did keep popping up.

Was there a way to save him?

Kate knew that her and Bobby were the only two besides Dean who knew about this deal. And she also knew that when Sam found out he would do anything thing he could to save his brother. Sitting back down at the table Kate kept reading. If there was a way to get Dean out of the deal he made they would find it.

It was around two in the morning when Kate's phone started to vibrate again. She flipped it open to see that there was a message from Sam.

"It's done." Was all it read. Kate let out a breathe as she sent him a text back.

"Is everyone ok?"

"All in one piece. Heading home."

Knowing that the job was done, that the yellow eyed demon was gone and that everyone was alright; Kate went up to her room and fell asleep.

Having been awake for as long as she had Kate slept for most of the day; it was late afternoon when she woke up. Knowing that no one would be home for a while, she decided to head outside and work on her charger.

Kate had pulled out the alternator out from under the car. She took it over to a work bench and started taking the cover off. She was going to clean it up and see if it still worked. If she could use any of the original parts she would. After having almost the whole alternator apart Kate heard footsteps crunching on the gravel.

Turning around she saw Dean walking towards her with a smile on his face.

"We got him!" He said as Kate rushed over to him and wrapped her arms him. She was happy to see him and know that they really all were ok. Dean held on to Kate too, neither of them caring about anything else at that moment. After a while Kate pulled back.

"What happened?" She asked moving her hand towards the cut on his forehead, stopping before she actually touched it.

"He got in a luck shot." Dean gave a smirk.

"How is everyone else?" Kate asked

"Good, we're all fine." Dean started to let his smile fade.

"What? What is it?" Kate asked sensing that there was something he wasn't telling her.

"We found the gate to hell. That is what Samuel Colt was protecting. He didn't want anything to get out."

"That's good. Demons can't get past the devils trap that he built."

"Not anymore. The devils trap was broken and the Jake opened up the gate to hell. A lot of evil things got out before Bobby and Ellen could get it closed."

"Guess that means we are going to be busy." Kate said as she went back over to the work bench.

"We?" Dean questioned.

"Yes "we". You are going to need all the help you can get right?" Kate put her hands on the bench and looked down. "I know that you only get ten years when you make a deal." She said softly as she looked back up seeing the shock on Dean's face.
