Another short late chapter! I blame school, speaking of which it's over now -for me at least- so hopefully I'll be able to work hard for you guys a while til the fall.

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy this story, and please review, it'll make both me and DOF-san very happy.

Chapter 24, "Commentary.":

Another twenty-five years passed with nothing of particular note happening, Alexander's sickness was still growing worse and he continued to go mad, as he had been for the vast majority of his time in the Magic Revolution.

With tensions nearing a climax between the larger nations, smaller nations had already begun fighting, and it was obvious to everyone that another world war was not far away. Alexander had begun growing more strict in his teachings, threatening his students a number of times if they did not obey him, and it was only a matter of time before he would actually begin to act on his threats. Though he was still being passed back and forth from America to England, his mood hadn't improved any, and both Arthur and Alfred began having a hard time keeping him in check.

Alexander stood in his normal place in the auditorium, directing his 'students' on a few, more simple, ways of using magic on the battlefield. As soon as he had said what was necessary, he let the students begin to try out the moves, hoping that they'd 'accidentally' harm each other in the process, with no such luck.

"Well aren't you just a genius?" Heather said, appearing on Alexander's shoulder seemingly out of nowhere, "You actually want them to hurt each other… I suppose you taught them too well for that."

Alexander scoffed out of habit before realizing the situation. He'd never before seen either of his 'imaginary friends' when he was consciously aware that someone, besides Arthur, was watching. "What are you doing here?" He hissed quietly.

After a moment Heather replied in a sarcastic tone, "Commentary."

Alexander rolled his eyes humourlessly, "Of course, but why here? You're not supposed to be here, fay."

"Why not? Because there are humans here? It's not as if they can see me, they already know you're crazy anyway."

"Heather, don't be so rude… please.." Radcliff said shyly, appearing next to Alexander on the opposite side of the fairy.

"I'm not being rude, I'm being honest," She retorted.

"Whatever, go away," Alexander commented shortly, watching his students do the various things he'd taught with little interest.

"And if we refuse?" Heather asked, lumping herself together with Radcliff for no real reason.

"Then I'll ignore you."

"Now that's not very nice is it, Mr. Madman? You should pay attention to us when we appear."

"And, why is that?"

"Because we're parts of you, silly, why would we show up if you didn't need us?"

Alexander scoffed with a slight chuckle, "Okay, tell me then, why do I need you?"

The fairy paused for a moment and then with a serious tone responded, "Because."

"You don't know," Alexander replied as if finishing her statement, "You keep saying you're part of me, and I don't know, so you definitely couldn't."

"Exactly, so I'm no less stupid than you are," She replied sarcastically.

By this point, several 'students' had noticed Alexander talking to 'himself' and had begun listening, abandoning their practicing.

Alexander soon noticed and glared at them, "What?"

Most of them, knowing that it was a terrible idea to get on his bad side, turned back to practicing the techniques he'd taught them.

However one student stood up, "Sir, I don't think you're mentally sound to be teaching us."

Alexander frowned, "And, who might you be?"

"Private Eric Jones."

"'Jones'?" Alexander scoffed, "Don't tell me you're Levi's brat?"

"Yeah, what's it to you?" The insolent Eric Jones replied.

"Don't make me give you pink little kitty ears too~" Alexander snickered slightly.

"urk….. uh I mean I would gladly follow in my father's footsteps."

"I'm sure," Alexander smirked, "but do you want to try me?~ I am a madman, but Alfred doesn't have anyone else who knows magic as well as I to teach you minions."

Eric frowned and sat back down.

"As I thought~" Alexander smirked and then sat down on the edge of the stage, watching the 'students' again.

"The kid's a coward," Heather muttered, having still not gone away.

Alexander frowned and looked to her, still on his shoulder, "Shut up, you." He said, a bit too loudly.

All the 'student's went quiet and looked at Alexander with a bit of surprise. The fairy just chuckled.

In response, Alexander growled at the fairy, attracting a bit more attention to himself.

"Oh don't mind me, you've said so yourself, I'm not real~"

"Dismissed!" Alexander said, a bit louder than necessary at his 'students', wanting them to leave before he got into a full on argument with Heather.

The 'students' filed out of the classroom, not entirely understanding what was going on, but at least understanding that he wanted to be 'alone'.

Once they were all gone, Alexander turned to Heather, "If I could harm you in some way, I would. Stop bothering me."

"I refuse, it's the reason I exist. Though technically you could harm me, it would just be the most idiotic thing you could do right now."

"Oh? Why is that because it's pretty tempting right now."

"That should be obvious."

"Because it would hurt me? Do I look like I care?"

Heather frowned, "...you would no longer hate yourself when you do anything bad."

Alexander seemed to think a moment before he heard Radcliff speak up, "Please don't….. if something happened to her, I think I'd go too…. then you'd do really bad stuff…."

"Exactly, so you'd have to be a complete idiot to actually get rid of me," The fairy summarized.

Alexander scoffed once again and stood up, "Fine, I'll have to deal with you then… for a while at least."

"Good," Heather said, noticeable relieved that Alexander was not going to kill her, at least for the moment.

"Yeah…" Radcliff said quietly in agreement.

The two of them disappeared as Alexander walked out of the auditorium. As he turned a corner into the hallway he noticed several other 'students' had cornered Eric and were teasing him on having backed down to Alexander during class.

"What's going on here?" Alexander asked authoritatively as he approached the group.

"We ain't doin' nothin'," One of the other students said.

"Yeah, nothin'," the others echoed.

"So you are doing something then?" Alexander raised a concealed eyebrow, "Honestly you Americans have no concept of grammar."

"What you talkin' 'bout, teach?" the first, who appeared to be the leader of whatever was going on here, asked.

"Tell me, do you even understand my lessons? How did you even come to be in my class? I doubt you could even properly read the caution labels on the McDonald's coffee you humans drink here."

"Daauumm, he told you," The sheep-like followers of the leader-type guy all said some variation of this.

"He didn't say nothin', what's Mikky-D's coffee have to do wit' this?"

"Precisely my point. Now, would you young rapscallions like your punishments today or tomorrow?"

" 'Rapscal'-...? You wantin' a rap-off?"

"Today it is then~" Alexander smirked and snapped. And with a puff of smoke, the members of the group bullying Eric had various adorable animal ears in various immasculine pastel colours.

All of the bullying group seemed to be half horrified and half confused. They could probably be heard from a long ways away.

"N-no way man, change me back!"

"I didn't do nothing what're ya messin' wit' me for!"

"Wha…. I have a freaking tail….."

"Please, I didn't mean anything by it, this was all just a little joke, right? It was funny….. Please?"

"I don't take back punishments," Alexander replied coldly, "You lot deserve it."

"Eh….. What why? What did we do to deserve bein' like this?!"

"You were bullying, now be off before I decide to add on a bit more for talking back."

With a few sounds of complaint the group of bullies ran off.

Alexander smirked and walked over to Eric, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah… I'm fine. Anyway, thanks…."

"You're welcome," Alexander said a bit awkwardly, "They shouldn't be bothering you anymore. Bunch of twats."

Eric shrugged, "I'm pretty used to it by now…"

"Because of your father? He was annoying, you know. Tried to play off the ears and tail as 'sexy'." Alexander scoffed, "I won't make you join the club unless you become really irritating."

"'Sexy', really? Doesn't seem like him at all."

"He must have changed," Alexander shrugged, "you humans tend to in 25 years."

"Yeah… Mom has told me that he's 'mellowed' with age…"

"Weird… whatever. It's not like I haven't taught hundreds of you Americans over the last… what, 50 years? Right, off and on. The other 50 or so I taught in England," Alexander stated, more to himself than to Eric.

"You've been teaching for 100 years then?!" Eric said amazedly.

"Yes, why do you ask?" Alexander questioned as if this were a perfectly normal occurrence.

"No reason, that's just pretty cool."

"Hmm… not the reaction I normally get."

"Well I mean… you taught my dad 25 years ago so you have to be older than you look…." Eric tried to explain himself.

"Yeah, I look 23. Though I'm a few millennia older than that." Alexander shrugged slight, deciding to tell Eric for no real reason.

Eric looked surprised, "Millennia?! Wait that's a thousand not a million right?"

Alexander raised an eyebrow, seeming a bit amused, "Yes, a millennia is one-thousand years."

"Just making sure," Eric replied, obviously glad he'd gotten it right, "Seems like it should be a million though, what with how it sounds and all."

Alexander rolled his eyes, "Anyway, I'm older than dirt, literally. And, so is Alfred."

"Eh, Alfred too?"

"Yeah, neither of us are human, though I'm older than he is. Considerably so because this is all the past to me."

"What do you mean?" Eric asked curiously.

"Eh, I'm from the future, nothing too interesting," Alexander smirked, a bit amused at himself.

"Time travel?! Did you do it with your Magic? Have you come to the past to save the world from an evil tyrant or something like that?"

"Yes, no, and I am the evil tyrant come to ruin this world with fire and ice." Alexander replied with a blank face, curious to see how he'd react.

Eric seemed to hesitate, picking his next words carefully, "If you're an evil tyrant that's going to destroy the world….. why are you teaching magic at military bases?"

"Why not? Perhaps I plan on having the world destroy itself with magic."

"...then why are you telling me this?"

"Because it's not true," Alexander chuckled.

Eric seemed relieved at that, "Good…"

"I'm not here of my own will, but I am from the future"

"Were you banished from the future because of your strong magic? Or because they knew that you were supposed to be in this time?" Eric said as he probably continued to let his imagination wander searching for a 'rational' answer.

"No and no. I was quite surprised when I found out who I had to be. Though I am supposed to be here, I didn't know that beforehand. My past self's back in England being a twat as per usual."

Eric shrugged off the completely vague statement, "So then 'past'-you is around in this time too?"

"Well I was born in the BCE or uh.. BC era."

"Seriously?! …. Actually that shouldn't be surprising… you already said your age…"

"I've said I'm a few millennia old, not my actual age, but yeah, it shouldn't be surprising."

"Well when you're counting in millennia the exact year probably doesn't really matter, right?"

"Well, I usually count in centuries, but I don't know my exact age so, I suppose it doesn't matter."

"So how old are you then, in centuries?"

"Approximately 36 then, 3600 years, not adding in these non-linear years."

"Whoa, that's really old. Like…. Really really old," Eric stated, not being able to fully wrap his mind around how long that would be.

"Though I'm certainly not the oldest of my kind. You humans have such short lives, it's pitiful actually." Alexander sneered a bit toward the end.

Eric frowned a bit at Alexander's seeming insult towards the entire human race, "It's not like we can help it that we have short life spans, what's your kind anyway? Wizards?"

"I can't tell you, it's sort of a worldwide secret. Matters of international security."

"Fine then."

"Anyway, I'm bored with you. Goodbye." Alexander turned on his heels and began to walk away randomly, "I'll see you in class tomorrow."

"See you then…"
