Kimiko knew that her life wasn't normal by any means. The average person doesn't journey the wilderness, risking their lives for a special ingredient. Lucky for Kimiko, her life stopped being normal once she met Toriko. She really should stop getting surprised whenever Toriko takes her on one of his food adventures.
"Oi, Kimi! There's a new smell coming from over there," Toriko said bolting through the tall plants that were taller than her.
"Toriko-san." Kimiko sighed and then smiled as Terry started to nuzzle her. "There's no stopping him, when it comes to food." She then jumped as she heard an animal's roar in the distance. "Wait for me!" she ran into the tall plants with Terry following behind her.
Now with all of the creatures she've seen Toriko encounter, she shouldn't have been surprised when he finds an animal that looks different than the average one they'd come across on their adventure. When she caught up to him, her eyes widened as she saw him holding a racoon dog? No, it has hooves and antlers. But it's standing on two legs, and it's wearing pants and a hat..
"Hey, Kimi, I found a rare creature. Do you think you can cook this?" Toriko said while drooling making the creature freak out.
"Toriko-san, you shouldn't just eat random creatures without knowing what they are." she scolded.
"I wonder if this guy tastes good." Toriko pondered making Kimiko sigh.
"HEY! LET GO OF CHOPPER!" Kimiko saw that the source of the voice belonged to a young man with black hair that was sporting a red vest with jeans and a straw hat. Her eyes widened as his arm stretched and went towards Toriko. She felt a tug on her backpack and realized that Terry had pulled her out of harm's way.
"His arm stretched!" she exclaimed.
"What is with this guy?!" Toriko yelled as he fended off the man's punches with one of his hands while he carried the creature with his other arm. Then the man spun around bringing his leg up in order to kick Toriko, only for Toriko to stop his leg.
"Luffy!" an orange haired lady said making Kimiko notice that the man's other friends. She took notice of the lady and the blonde man with curly eyebrows wearing a suit.
"What are you trying to do with Chopper?!" the man she assumed was Luffy yelled.
That creature is called, Chopper?, Kimiko thought as she saw them argue
"Listen here. I found this guy. So he's my prey." Toriko said
"Eh? Prey? You're really going to eat me!" Chopper yelled surprising Kimiko that the creature could talk.
"Yep." Toriko said unfazed
"But I taste gross! So gross you wouldn't believe!" Chopper said
"Really! I guess there's no point, if you taste bad." Toriko pondered and then looked back at the creature. "YOU TALKED! How is that possible!"
"Hey! Chopper is part of my crew! You can't eat him!" Luffy screamed at Toriko.
"Oh boy," Kimiko sighed and then noticed that Terry started growling. "What's wrong?"
GROWL!
"What's that?" the orange haired lady said as large creatures started to step out of the woods. Her eyes widened as she saw gigantic large boars with steam coming out of their backs that were currently glowing as if it were charcoal.
"Something smells tasty" Luffy started to drool
"We must have invaded their territory." Toriko set Chopper on the ground. "The Barbecue Pigs."

Barbecue Pig (Mammal Beast) Capture Level 1

"WOW! Walking grilled meat!" Luffy screamed with stars with in his eyes
"These guys get fired up, whenever somebody gets into their territory. These guys look pretty steamed." Toriko said
"Why are you saying that so calmly! Their bodies are already steaming! The orange hair lady said.
"They usually feed on herbs and ghost truffles, so their meat is delicious. Their Capture Level is one so it should be easy for you, Toriko-san." Kimiko said while petting Terry to try to keep her calm.
"Capture Level 1?" the orange haired woman repeated.
"It's the system the IGO created to categorize the difficulty to capture an ingredient. The first level means that it takes ten professional hunters to capture it. Toriko-san can handle a level one beast easy, but I don't know if he can handle this many at once." Kimiko explained and then looked over at Toriko and Luffy who were drooling at the site of the pigs. " I guess they'll be fine."
"Barbecue PIgs," the blonde man said and then cracked his knuckles, "Food cooking itself. That's an insult to a chef."
"That's what you're angry about!" the orange haired lady said.
"Terry," Toriko said making the Battlewolf bark, "I'm trusting you to protect Kimiko." Terry barked in response and then stepped in front of Kimiko.
"Idtadakimasu," Toriko clapped his hands together and then charged at the pigs with Luffy following right after him. Kimiko looked at Luffy's friend's to see that the blonde was kicking the pigs away from the lady and the reindeer creature. She then winced as a bitter smell met her nose.
"They're burning." Kimiko said as everyone started to smell the burning odor.
"Don't aggravate them! The more you do, the more their meat burns. You got to make sure to end it quickly" Toriko warned them as he punched a pig head on, knocking it out.
"He knows a lot about animals," Chopper said
"Not so much as animals, more like ingredients," Kimiko said, "Toriko's a world renowned Bishokuya. So situations like these are natural to him."
"Amazing." Chopper said in awe.
Toriko punched another pig's snout and then saw Luffy's arm retract back to normal size. "Hey, I've been wondering. Why is your body so stretchy?"
"I ate the Gum Gum Fruit. It made me a rubber human," Luffy explained as he stretched his arm to punch another pig.
"Gum Gum Fruit. Was it tasty?" Toriko punched a pig
"No, it was really disgusting." Luffy punched a pig.
"Aw, that bad." Toriko stopped a pig that was heading towards him.
"Yeah." Luffy also stopped a pig that heading towards him.
"Well, that sucks!" Toriko punched the pig
"Yup!" Luffy punched his pig.
"Well, I guess the taste is the least of our worries" the blonde man muttered as he started to smoke his cigarette.
"I'm going to eat it!" Luffy yelled as he tried to take a bite of the pig. That was when the blonde man went and kicked Luffy.
"Ow! Sanji why did you do that?!" "Luffy cried
"YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE CHEF TO PREPARE THE FOOD YOU IDIOT!"
"Oi, Kimi, can you prepare the food?" Toriko asked while drooling.
"No problem, Toriko-san." Kimiko said as she walked over to him.
"Thanks." he then started to drool on the meat.
"Toriko-san! You'll ruin the meat if you keep on drooling!" Kimiko exclaimed as she tried to push him away. "Terry, make sure he doesn't drool on the food." The Battlewolf barked as she tugged on Toriko's shirt gently pulling him away from the pigs. She only sighed as she saw the sight. When she turned around she was confronted by the blonde haired man on his knee offering her a flower.
"Oh, what beautiful winds of fate. For they have guided me to meet you. Here accept this flower that pales in comparison to your beauty." He sang as he gave her a purple flower.
"Uh, thank you," Kimiko took the flower, "You're Sanji-san, right. That's what Luffy-san called you."
"Ah, so kind you are to remember my name," Sanji said with hearts in his eyes, "May I ask what your name is?"
"My name's Kimiko, it's nice to meet you," She bowed as she introduced herself.
"~So your name is Kimiko-chwan! Why are you doing out here in such a dangerous place?~" Sanji said while somehow turning his body into dancing noodle with hearts coming out of his eyes.
"Well, I'm a chef, and I follow Toriko on his food adventures," She answered
Well not so much as follow, more as kidnapped, Kimiko thought to herself.
"So you're a chef as well!" Sanji exclaimed making Kimiko blink at the statement.
"Yeah, you're one as well, I assume." Kimiko said making Sanji nod in response. "Really, well Sanji-san, how would you try to prepare the Barbecue Pig?"

"Looks like Sanji and your friend are getting along," Chopper said bringing Toriko out of his drooling state.
"Huh?" Toriko looked over at Kimiko and Sanji who were conversing over the meal that they were preparing.
"Sanji-kun is always talking to woman. He always does a weird dance too," Luffy said while drooling making the orange haired woman smack him.
"Stop drooling everywhere!"
"OW! NAMI THAT HURT!" Luffy yelled
Noodle dance? Toriko thought and looked over at Kimiko who was giggling at something Sanji said. He then saw Sanji start moving his body like it was a piece of dangling pasta with hearts surrounding him. Yup, there's no way Toriko would want Kimiko to hang around that freak of nature. When he started to walk over to Kimiko he felt himself be pulled down back into a sitting position. Confused, he turned around to see Terry holding on to his shirt.
"Terry, let go." He started to tug his shirt back, only for Terry to keep her hold on the shirt. "I'm not going to eat the food, let go." Terry still didn't budge.
"Everyone, the food's ready!" Kimiko said while carrying a large plate made out of forest leaves that was harboring the gigantic pile of cut up Barbecue Pig.
"Idtadakimasu!" the entire group said before the
"This is great!" Luffy said while devouring his piece of meat
"Barbecue Pigs, the sweet, top-grade fat dripping from the meat. The appetizing fragrance of the herbs, that it's eaten. It's superb." Toriko said and then looked over at Kimiko who was still talking to Sanji.
"It's thanks to you that we got to eat food this delicious, Toriko!" Luffy said and then looked back at Toriko who was devouring the meat while giving a death glare at Sanji.
He must really like the meat if he's so angry that he can't eat all of it in one go, Luffy thought.
"So your name's Terry Cloth. I'm Chopper, nice to meet you," Chopper laughed as Terry licked his cheek
"Terry trusts you. That's interesting, she usually only trusts me and Kimiko," Toriko continued to chew on his meat, "She's a Battlewolf, She almost never trusts strangers. Sorry I tried to eat you before."
"It's fine. I get to be friends with her, anyway." Chopper said
"Still, you must be trustworthy people for Terry to already be used to you," Kimiko said as she placed another serving a meat down for the group. Terry barked and then licked Kimiko making her giggle before petting Terry in return.
"Still I never expected to be attacked by roasted pigs," Nami said, "Just how surreal is this island?"
"Well, that's Hungry-la Island, for you." Kimiko said as she sat down next to Toriko.
"Hungry-la Island?" Nami repeated
"Hungry-la Island is said to be abundant in all kinds of ingredients. People thought it was a legend," Kimiko said
"That's where we are?" Kimiko nodded in response. "How did you find this tiny island in the huge sea?"
"We were sailing along, when I caught the scent of tasty food. That's when I found it." Toriko explained before shoving more meat into his mouth.
"Just what kind of nose do you have?!" Nami exclaimed
"Don't worry, it surprised me too, at first. You'll get used to it." Kimiko reassured her.
"~NAMI-SWAN! KIMIKO-CHWAN~ I prepared a special Barbecue Pig for you two~" Sanji sang as he presented a two servings towards them. "The best part is my special sauce, made from the ingredients of the forest. The elegant aroma brings out the Barbecue Pig's flavor-" he was cut off as Luffy's hand stretched and took Nami's portion. Luffy said a quick thanks before shoving it into his mouth. "LUFFY! I made that for Nami-san and Kimiko-ch-" he paused as Toriko took the other serving he was carrying and ate it.
"Man that's delicious!" Toriko said while munching on the meat.
"Why did you guys have to eat it?!" Sanji yelled
"Excuse me," Kimiko swiped a bit of the sauce that was on the plate and tasted it. "That's delicious! It's so impressive that you can make something like that from ingredients that you just found."
"~You're so nice Kimiko-chwan~" Sanji sang, "When you compliment me like that, it's embarrassing."
"The faint aroma and the acidity of the citrus is amazing," Kimiko contemplated, "Oh, I know. You made this with Surprise Orange juice, right?"
"You can tell?"
"Yeah, I try to remember all of the foods I tasted," Kimiko told him making Sanji swoon.
I only added a drop of the Surprise Orange juice, yet she was able to figure out what it was just from one tasting. What exactly is with her sense of taste, Sanji thought
"Um, Sanji-san, I'm a bit embarrassed to ask after just tasting that sauce, but can you try this," she presented him with a small bowl of her own sauce for him to try.
"Sure," Sanji took a taste for himself
That's good! He thought, The full-bodied flavor, the perfect amount of salt.
"~It's delicious! Kimiko-swan~" Sanji said before doing his noodle dance
"Thanks Sanji-san," Kimiko giggled
"Oi! Kimiko can you give me more of that?" Toriko said with his mouth full.
"Toriko-san," Kimiko sighed, "At least finish eating before you start talking."
"Sorry," Toriko said and then patted her on the head making her give him a small smile. That was when she felt herself being picked up and placed on the opposite side of Toriko that put him in between her and Sanji.
"Toriko-san?" Kimiko repeated only for him to offer her a piece of the Barbecue Pig. She smiled and then took the piece of meat, proceeding to eat it.

"Since we got food, let's go back to the Thousand Sunny," Nami then took notice of only the skeletons of the Barbecue Pigs remained, "Hey! Where's all the food?!" She then took notice of Toriko and Luffy's enlarged bellies.
"That was good." Luffy said.
"You didn't have to eat all of them!" Nami scolded
"I'm having a sense of deja vu," Kimiko muttered as her mind started to replay a memory of Toriko eating the Galala Crocodile, leaving none for her to take back to the restaurant. "I shouldn't even be surprised."
"Thanks for the meal" Toriko said as he clapped his hands together.
"Man! I was gonna take that food back to the ship!" Nami yelled at Luffy who was showing no signs of feeling guilty.
"What's the problem, there's tons of food here." Luffy replied
"He does have a point." Kimiko said. There's literally meat growing from trees here.
"If you need food, I know just the thing. The Hungry-la Bird."

"Hungry-la Bird?" Luffy asked as the group walked through the forest.
"Yup, that's one of the reasons why Kimi and I are here. It's a legendary ingredient," Toriko said, "Although there's no guarantee that you'll make it out alive. But the meat dissolves once it hits your tongue, and its rich sweetness and indescribable aroma are world-famous."
"It's complex and full of variety, the flavor that captivates all who eat it and never lets them go, gave birth to the saying "all flavors lead to Hungry-la,"" Kimiko informed the group, "They say one person who ate it once and couldn't forget its flavor found himself swimming across the ocean to look for this island."
"Hungry-la Bird," Luffy started to drool, "Sounds interesting."
"Yeah, just the thought of it," Toriko and Luffy looked at each other, "Makes me hungry!" Then just like magic both of their enlarged stomachs shrunk and then started to growl in hunger.
"What kind of stomachs do you guys have?!" Nami yelled at them
"As expected of Toriko-san," Kimiko sighed
"That legendary Hungry-la Bird, just might be worthy of my Full Course Meal." Toriko grinned.
"Full Course?" Sanji asked
"Toriko-san is working on his life's Full Course Meal, from hors d'oeuvre to dessert."
"I want to eat Toriko's Full Course!" Luffy drooled
"I haven't figured most of it out yet, though."
"But how do you know the Hungry-la Bird is at the top of the mountain?" Chopper asked
"Just look. Plants on Hungry-la Island grow very quickly" Toriko pointed at a mountain in the distance, "But there's not a single blade of grass on the mountaintop. That means something with an appetite big enough to eat the plants before they can grow, the legendary Hungry-la Bird, must be there."
"I get it," Nami said at Toriko's reasoning.
GROWL!
"What's wrong, Terry?" Kimiko looked over at the growling Battlewolf. Toriko and Luffy went ahead of the group only to be confronted by a group of huge bears with horns on their heads.
"What are those guys?" Chopper asked that was when a shadow covered Chopper, he looked behind and then screamed as he saw that one of them had gotten behind them. Chopper shivered in fear as the each of the bears were easily the size of building.
"Uni-horn Bears." Toriko answered

"You want a fight!" before Luffy could lift his arm, Toriko grabbed his fist.
"Don't bother. Their meat is tough and not worth eating," Toriko said making Luffy give a confused look, "So, we run!" Toriko sprinted past the beasts alarming the group.
"Huh?" they said"
"Don't stand there, run!" Kimiko said as Terry carried her away from the group.
"Hey! Why don't you just take them all out like you did earlier!" Nami yelled as she was sitting on Chopper's back.
"I don't take the lives of anything I don't eat, that's my rule!"
"Is that so." Luffy grinned, "Then we better run with all our might!"
"DON'T SAY THAT SO CASUALLY!" Nami yelled as the group ran.
SCREECH!
The group stopped at the sound only for a large gust of wind started to lift Chopper and Nami from the ground, as well as some of the Uni-horn Bears.
"Chopper! Nami!" Luffy grabbed onto a tree and then stretched his arm to grab his two friends
"Hold on, Kimi!" Toriko looked over at Kimiko who was struggling to hold onto Terry's fur as she sat on the Battlewolf's back.
"I'm trying my best here!" Kimiko yelled as she tried to tighten her grip on Terry's fur.
"Is that.."
"What is that?" Luffy asked. They all looked up to see a quadruped bird with white feathers outlining it's dark feathers. With a small bundle of red feathers resting on the crest above the bird's beak.
"This intimidating presence, that must be the Hungry-la Bird!" Toriko yelled
SCREECH!"

Hungry-la Bird (Bird Beast) Capture Level 3

The group tried to stand their ground only for the bird to swoop down and tried to grab Toriko with one of its claws. Toriko in return held on to the claw and stood his ground, then he threw the bird onto the ground. The bird then gave a cry then switched to a different target, the target being Sanji.
"Why you!" Sanji jumped up and delivered a spin kick to the bird's throat only for the bird to knock him away.
"GUM GUM PISTOL!" Luffy threw a punch at the bird only for it to bounce off with a clang. "That thing's hard!"
"It's like it's wearing steel armor!" Sanji said making the bird land in front of them and then started to peck at them with its beak.
"Terry get Kimi to somewhere safe!" Terry barked and quickly dodged the attacks the bird was sending towards them.
"This guy sure is fast for wearing steel armor!" Luffy yelled, then the bird took off into the air creating gusts of wind making the guys stick to the ground as to not get blown away from the wind.
"It's hard to take that thing down, because those feather cover its entire body." Toriko exclaimed, "But the fact that it's covered so well with such tough armor means the meat hidden inside is tender and delicious. Still with that guy flying around, we can't land a hit on it."
"So all we need is to bring it to the ground." Luffy grinned, "Leave it to me!" He stretched his arm to grab onto the bird letting his body go up to the bird's height. He smiled and then released a series of punches at the bird, surprising the bird making it fall to the ground.
"He did it!" Chopper said
"No, the attack didn't hurt it," Sanji commented
SCREECH!
The bird flapped it's wings in anger as it righted itself up.
CLANG! CLANG! CLAP!
"A metallic sound." Nami said
"He's getting ready." Kimiko said
"Getting ready?"
"I give thanks to all of the ingredients of the world. IDTADAKIMASU!" A red aura surrounded Toriko, the group's eyes widened as they saw a red oni appear from the red aura. "FORK!" he aimed the attack at the bird's throat, "KNIFE!" He slashed at the bird's stomach. "GOCHISOUSAMADESHITA!" he clapped his hands together as the Hungry-la Bird fell behind him. The group looked at him in awe as they saw that he had completely beaten the bird. Kimiko only smiled at the sight and broke the silence.
"Well, time to get cooking."

"We can cut up this part to coat and fry. We can use this part to make a soup."
"I see, and we can use this portion for roasting. We should also gather some veggies to counteract the richness of the meat"
"Yeah, that's a good idea, Sanji."
"~Why thank you, Kimiko-chwan~"
Toriko watched the two chefs converse with a frown on his face, while Terry sat right next to him.
"I've been meaning to ask, you and Kimiko. You're close." Nami asked while Luffy tried to steal some of the meat only for Sanji to kick him in the face sending him into the forest.
"Yeah, we've known each other for awhile. I take her with me on some of my food adventures." Luffy tilted his head at Toriko's answer.
"So you're together." Luffy said making everyone pause.
"DON'T SAY THINGS LIKE THAT!" Nami clobbered Luffy on the head making him clutch his head in pain.
"What's the matter? I was just saying they're together." Luffy said
"You shouldn't just blatantly phrase it like that" she scolded.
"Blatantly? Is that something you can eat?" Luffy started drool.
"This is my captain," Nami sighed while Luffy tried to grab a piece of the meat only for Sanji to kick him again.
Toriko looked at Kimiko who was busy cutting up the meat for the stew. He scratched Terry behind the ear making her wag her tail in happiness.
"Hey Terry," He got a bark for an answer, "Kimi knows that I like her, right?" Terry gave him a confused look. "Yeah, I don't know either. How can I make her see that I care about her more than she thinks I do." He frowned as he saw Kimiko laugh as Sanji performed the strange noodle dance with hearts floating around him.
"Man, why is love so complicated."

"Toriko-san." Kimiko said getting his attention away from the feast that she and Sanji had prepared.
"Yeah, Kimi." Before she could speak she was interrupted by her phone ringing.
"Excuse me," She took out her phone and raised her eyebrows at the screen. "Toriko-san." She looked up at him. "Did you by any chance tell Coco-san and Sani-san that you were taking me on a food adventure?"
"Nope, not at all." He said while stuffing his face, "What's the matter?"
"Coco-san and Sani-san have been messaging me, asking me where I am." Toriko paused before taking another bite of meat, "I should tell them that I'm fine." Before she could type her reply, Toriko took her phone.
"Don't worry, Kimi. I can tell them for you. You can just relax and eat, I know you haven't eaten since noon."
"Are you sure, Toriko-san."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Toriko said as he nudged her toward the food. When she was completely occupied by the food and was striking conversation with Nami, he turned his attention to Kimiko's phone looked at the messages she was sent.
From: Sani-san
To: Me
Miko, where are you? I wanted to see if you were available to go on a journey with me. It's to a place that harbors springs that are good for your skin. The springs would help with the stress that you probably built up from hanging around Toriko. You weren't at the Hotel Gourmet, so I'll have to message you later.
From: Coco-san
To: Me
Kimiko-chan, I've recently been gifted a set of tea from a customer, and I was wondering if you would do me the honor, of drinking it with me. I went to see if you were at work, but your co-workers have informed me that you weren't there. I shall await for your answer of whether or not you are interested.
She even puts the -san honorific in our contact names, Toriko sighed, Coco's message sounds so formal while Sani is just saying that I'm causing Kimi stress. Toriko grumbled at their messages and then sent a quick message to both of them.
To: Sani-san and Coco-san
From: Me
Kimi's with me, don't worry, I'm making sure that she's having a good time. Plus I'm pretty sure she's never going to forget this adventure.
Toriko grinned as he sent the vague message to both of friends and was immediately confronted with the phone making notification sounds as messages were received. He gave a smug grin as he saw that Coco and Sani kept on spamming the phone with messages. When he heard Kimiko laughing, Toriko looked up to see that Sanji was doing the weird dance of his again. While grumbling at Sanji's display at Kimiko, Toriko felt the phone start to vibrate, signaling that someone was calling. He looked at the caller id, slowly his face started to morph into a sinister grin.
"Hey, Kimi!" She looked over at him, "Sani's calling, I'll talk to him, okay."
"Sure." she replied going back to the conversation with Sanji. Toriko gave her a smile and then clicked on the answer button.
"Hi, Sani!" he answered cheerfully
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MIKO'S PHONE!" the voice echoed through speaker. The entire group turned to look at Toriko, who in response only laughed and reassured them that it was nothing.
"Sani calm down," He said that was when he heard multiple voices starting to yell at him, "Oh, is Coco with you. Great, that makes things easier." He winced as both of them started to yell at him.
"Toriko-san, is everything okay?" Kimiko said as she halted her conversation with Sanji.
"Don't worry, Kimi. Sani's just having a bad hair day." Toriko winced as Sani started to yell at him through the phone. "I'll talk to him somewhere else." He told her before walking over to edge of the clearing leaning his body against the trees.
"Calm down, Sani. Kimi could hear you." Toriko said.
"What exactly are you doing with Miko?!"
"She's fine, we met an interesting group of pirates that were looking to stock up on food." Toriko informed him, "Oh by the way, the group's chef is flirting with Kimi."
"WHAT!" Toriko winced as he heard the two voices yell at him.
"Did you put me on speakerphone?"
"That doesn't matter, what do you mean someone's flirting with Miko." Sani said
"I'll show you." Toriko pressed onto the camera chat feature on Kimiko's phone and aimed the camera at Kimiko who was currently conversing with Sanji who then started laughing as Sanji proceeded to do the noodle dance with hearts floating around him. He turned the phone back to him so he could see both of Coco and Sani's blank faces
"Toriko, where are you?" Coco asked
"Hungry-la Island, why?"
"We'll be there in an hour." Coco and Sani informed Toriko before ending the call.
"Those guys," Toriko sighed, "And to think, I thought she and I could have some alone time. And now those two are coming here. What else is going to happen?"
"Nami-swan and Kimiko-chwan disappeared!"
