A/N: Hi! Do you guys remember me? And this story? It's been so long! You can't even imagine how sorry I am for that! So much random whatnots have been going on in my life the past year. And whenever I thought I finally had it straightened out, BAM! Something else would happen. But, (thankfully!) everything is starting to reach a point of normalcy (incase of any of you care! haha)
So, anyways, I do wanna thank mlouden03 for kind of reminding me that this story was out there, and incomplete. When I first started to write it, I had everything all planned out on what I wanted to happen; but it's been so long since I let my jucies go, I can't remember alot of my plot. (I should probably start writing stuff down!) So i re-read the story; and finally got Scorp and Rayelle alone so they can talk.
There is a lot! of dialoge in this chapter. And I've never been completely sure if I can pull off talking for long periods of time... so let me know if it seems okay!
Okay? Kay! Happy Reading! (: - Lorrinda
Oh! And I also want to give a shot out to TheLadyJaye! And announce that I've been spelling Lucius and Scorpius wrong throughout this entire story. I haven't gotten a chance to go through any of the chapters and correct it yet, but that is one of the main things I plan on doing!
Rayelles POV
Walking in silence, Rayelle and Scorpious made their way outside. Slowly, they made their way across the lawns. They walked past Hagrids hut, towards a clearing at the begining of the forbidden forest. Once they reached where they were going, Rayelle pulled her robes tighter around herself, and dropped her bag, before sitting down. She looked up at the boy she loved with a frown. He stood, with his back towards her, and his hands tucked into the pockets of his robes.
Rayelle sat silently, as a breeze picked up and started tugging at her hair. After securing it with a hair-tie, she quietly said the boys name, 'Scorp...?' Looking over his shoulder, he frowned:
'Did you know about that?' Closing his eyes, he sighed. Turning around, he walked to the nearest tree, and leaned against it. 'Growing up, I always tried so hard to impress my father. To not disappoint him. The times when I did always left me feeling so.. little. Just knowing that this man, who always acted the right way, towards not only those who were of magic descent, but muggle-borns as well as muggles. Knowing that somehow something I said, or did, had made him disappointed in me...' Looking across the grounds, Scorpious shook his head, and sighed. 'That's not really important right now I suppose.' He ran a hand through his hair, before saying, 'I knew that he had a bad childhood. He told me himself, that he did things that he regretted. But... I never knew that it was anthing that.. big!' Looking back at Rayelle, he frowned, I know that his dad was a Death Eater. And that at sixteen, he was marked too.' A look of disgust crossed his face, and he quickly looked away. Then, in a tight voice, he muttered, 'Merlin. Those muggles he tortured, they were just children!'
Standing, Rayelle brushed off the seat of her robes, and crossed to the blonde boy. 'Scrop. Think about when he was born. Who his father was. He grew up having it drilled into his head since birth that the views of Voldemort was the right way of things.'
Turning his head, Scorpious met her gaze. 'A sixteen year old boy should have known better. I mean, great Godric, 'Elle. Why would someone even have to think about it? How could anyone consider that hurting them could be right?'
'You know your father. Did you not hear the grief in his voice when he talked about that?' Rayelle laid a hand on his upper arm, and squeezed. 'He regrets it.'
'Maybe now he does.' Scorpious said. Rayelle heard anger beneath his words, and frowned.
'No!' When Scorpious started to turn his head from looking at her, she reached out and held it in place. Forcing him to meet her eyes. 'After it happened. Probably while it was happening.'
His eyes darkened, and on a whisper, he asked, 'How do you know that?'
'The way he spoke of it.' Her voice gentled, and she gently caressed his cheek. 'The look of sorrow in his eyes.' Closing his eyes, he turned his head, and placed a light kiss to her palm. 'Scorp?' Trailing off, she waited until he was looking at her again before continuing. 'Don't judge your father too harshly. For what he did as a child. He did what he had to do to survive.'
Shaking his head, Scorpious stepped away from the tree, and her. Rayelle watched as he began to pace. Leaning against the tree he just left, she saw his forehead crinkle. She settled back, waiting him out. They had been together long enough for her to recognize the look of deep concentration on his face. She could dance around naked right now, and he'd never even notice.
Sighing, she thought back to class, and the look of shame on Draco Malfoys face. Throughout the his entire speech, his face had showed how he felt about everything he had done in his past. Biting her bottom lip, Rayelle looked at her first love. He stood staring up at the sky, a small frown lining his face. Glancing up, she saw it had slowly started to darken. And a glance at her watch showed that dinner was almost over. But, she knew that Scorpious wasn't ready to be around the rest of their classmates. She knew he had more things on his mind, and she couldn't just leave him. Not when he was this confused. And angry. She saw the flashes of anger in his eyes, when talking about the muggles his father tortured.
''Elle?' Turning at the sound of her name on his lips, Rayelle gave a small smile. 'Do... do you think my dad regrets not stepping forward to help Roses mum?'
'Yes.' She replied without hesitation. Tucking her hands behind her back, she said, 'I think he regrets everything from back then. He seems to feel guilty for not helping her.'
'Then why didn't he tr-' Scorpious began, only to be cut off with a raised hand.
'Wait for me to finish, please.' When he said nothing, but inclined his head she continued. 'He feels guilty for not helping her, and for hurting those muggles. And you could hear the shame, and guilt in his voice when he talked about what happened with Dumbledore.' Biting her lip, she narrowed her eyes and thought back to what the man had said. 'When Voldemort had given him the task of killing Dumbledore, he was barely sixteen. Imagine, for just a moment, being told that you have to kill a wizard like Dumbledore.' With a shudder, Rayelle pulled her robes tighter around her body, and studied Scorpious' face.
'Your grandma knew that he wouldn't be able to do it. And she loved him, she was willing to stand up for him. Even if it meant getting into the face of the most evil, most crazy wizard ever known. So, she tried to protect him. Voldemort probably saw the love she had for her son, or maybe he was just mad that she spoke back, but he tortured her.'
Shaking his head, Scorpious still frowned. 'If it bothered him that much, Voldemort using the Cruciatus Curse on his mum, maybe he should have done something.'
Fisting her hands, Rayelle placed them on her hips. 'Like what? What could he have done to stop Voldemort, without getting both your gran and himself killed?'
Running his hands through his hair, Scorpious let out a long breath of air. 'I don't know.' He finally admitted. Sighing, he sat heavily on the ground, and began rubbing at his temples.
Sitting across from the boy, Rayelle laid a gentle hand on his shoulder. 'Imagine someone tourturing your mum. And the onlny way you could make them stop, was by agreeing to kill McGonagall. Would you do it?' She asked; her voice barely above a whisper.
Turning his head, their gazes locked. His, the color of stormy clouds met her clear blue. Then on a whisper of his own, 'Yeah. She's my mum. I'd never be able to stand and just watch that happen. If the only way that I could stop it, without getting both of us killed, would be by promising to do that,' closing his eyes, he give a quick nod. 'I would try and do anything to keep the ones I love safe.'
Studying his face, Rayelle watched as he silently mouthed, 'I would for you.' Frowning, she let her hand slide down his arm, until it rested on his knee. He laid a hand next to hers, and slowly twined their fingers together. She watched as a frown crossed his face, and his eyes open. 'Why didn't he tell me all this before though?'
Tilting her head to the side, she thought about it. 'Maybe, because he...' trailing off, she narrowed her eyes and glanced at their clasped hands. His thumb was rubbing small circles against the back of her hand. Causing, what seemed to be, butterflies to start flying around her stomach. Choosing to not comment on their hands, she stared at his chin, and tried again. 'He probably didn't want you to think badly of him. And he knew that if he told you about that; you'd probably be disappointed in him.'
His hand continued to draw patterns on the back of hers; while his other hand gently raised her chin. Forcing her to meet and hold his gaze. 'Like I disappointed you?'
Closing her eyes, Rayelle shook her head. 'Can we not talk about that?' Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes, and said, 'There are more important things we can discuss. Like Quidditch, or Hagrids weird Flubberworms, or your dad, the ex-Death Eater.'
Scorpious POV
A sad smile crossed his face as he studied hers. Her forehead was begining to crinkle, like it always does when she gets nervous. And she was chewing on her bottom lip. What bothered him though, was that she wouldn't meet his gaze. No matter what had been going on between them, whether she be mad at him or vice-versa, she always looked him in the eye and spoke her mind. But right now, her blue eyes looked anywhere but at him. He let his right hand open and slide up, until her cheek was cradled in the palm of his hand.
Tracing her bottom lip with his thumb, he sighed. 'Rayelle?' he said softly. He waited until she finally looked at him, before saying: 'There is nothing more important to me, then you.'
He watched as her eyes widen, and darken; before leaning forward, and pressing his lips to hers.
A/N: Let me once again apologize for the long period that passed since my last update. And hope this made up for it. I'm not the best when it comes to dialoge really, so I hope it was good, and easy to understand!
