Chapter 25- Revenge is Best Served Cold
First, to one of my readers, jordan, if you are still reading, you asked why X-Sabers. First, I just picked an archetype for my character. Then, I thought about a name that would go with it. So, X-avier. X-Sabers. Get it? Anyways, everyone, please enjoy!

Still wanting his money, Master Edgardo sent Kowari to rob Heartland Bank. But Keenan was nearby and stopped him by beating him in a duel.
Deep in you(The scene opens up to Keenan Serpentine, who's waking up and heading outside)
How to find the strength inside? (Kalka appears before the walking Keenan and Keenan activates his Duel Disk)
It challenges you
Taking all that you can find(It pans to Keenan, whose losing, but a Xavier, with a silhouetted warrior, appears in front of Keenan and puts its hand on Keenan's shoulder, giving him strength)
It's alright, trust in yourself
So come on, it's because you've come this far (Then, Kalka disappears and Keenan and Xavier run forward)
It's waiting for you (A whirlwind strikes the ground in front of them, stopping them. Keenan looks behind him and sees Harper and Harpie Lady, behind her)
You must raise yourself above and touch the sky (Five shadowy figures then appear, stopping Keenan and his friends)
The dreams we see so far (Keenan imagines dueling a silhouetted woman and smiles)
Together makes us who we are (Harper and Xavier stand behind Keenan in support)
So don't let go, you know we're almost there(It begins to rain and Keenan, dueling the five figures, with an silhouetted beast-warrior in front of him, reaches for his Life Point counter, trying to give up. But another Blake appears and smiles, and points to the sky where a gigantic silhouetted machine appears and shot at the figures with its gun-like weapon)
I see you, endless gazing up to the sky, wondering why (Something causes Keenan to look up to the sky and an image of a woman smiling appears. A hand touches his shoulder and he looks back to see just a glimpse of a spirit of a woman before she disappears)
And you feel you can't go on, but you know this isn't the end (Keenan smiles and with his friends' support, he causes the five figures to disappear and the three continue to run)
So come on, it's a lie when shaking in fear(As they're running, Trixie Strike with a silhouetted monster flying with her and a silhouetted boy with a silhouetted armored monster joins them, but the ground in front of them then rumbles and from it emerges Blue Eyes White Dragon, with Vestal, standing on top of it)
You're fooling yourself(Keenan gets knocked back, but his friends encourage him to get back up. Yamato, with Red Eyes Black Dragon, appears and begins fighting the silhouetted opponent. Keenan yells, and with Red Eyes' Black Dragon's support, the silhouetted figure disappears)
It is true you'll never run away from here(The seven friends continue to run and the sun comes out and they stop. Keenan draws the top card of his deck and raises it to the sky as a shadowed beast-warrior appears and he and his friends' monsters stand behind their respective owners)
At the Materia Organization base, after getting healed in the Healing Chamber, Harper was in her quarters throwing everything and screaming. She had a cast on her arm, but it had healed enough to move around. "I can't believe I lost to that pig! How DARE he disrespect me!? I promise I'll do whatever I can to get you back Rex! AGRRHHHHH!"
"You seem angry Harper." Someone said. Harper turned to see Vince standing there, smiling. "I said not to annoy Rex, did I not? I believe you got what you deserved."
"Whatever. What do you know?"
"You are angry. And I know you are going to get back at him, but I am warning you. Do not jeopardize my ambitions with your scheme." Harper didn't respond, causing Vince to narrow his eyes, like in mistrust. Shrugging it off, Vince chuckled and walked out. Still angry, Harper punched the wall, causing it to crack. "Rex, I hate you so bad!"
"Oh really? You hate me?" Rex asked from the doorway.
"Rex!"
Rex walked up to Harper and put his hand around her neck. "Look, you little dirty tramp! Talking about friendship and your little threats might work with your punk little friends, but I don't tolerate that bull! And you are in this organization to serve me, got it?" Harper grabbed Rex's arm and squeezed it, loosening Rex's grip, letting her get away.
"Ow! You little-" Rex then punched Harper in the face, knocking her into her bookshelf. "O-ow! Y-you hit me! You can't hit a girl!"
"You're not a girl! Now, you're going to be mine!" Rex took off Harper's cloak and proceeded to take off her shirt, but a hand touched his shoulder. He turned his head, shocked. "V-Vince!?"
"That's quite enough Rex." Vince looked at Harper and noticed she was tearing and her right eye was turning bluish-purple. He sighed. "Rex, I don't condone what you did. You and Harper are getting on my last nerves. If you two fight one more time, I'll send the both of you to the Shadow Realm, understood?"
"….."
"UNDERSTAND!?"
"Yes sir." Vince suddenly grabbed Rex's left arm and twisted it, causing Rex to let out an eardrum-breaking yell, and breaking Rex's arm. "OWW! OW OW OW! Sir! You broke my arm! OW!"
"Hitting girls will not be allowed here!" Vince then motioned Rex to leave and as he was doing so, Harper tried to lunge at him, but was stopped by Vince. "I'll kill you Rex! Along with Keenan and his friends!"
"Calm yourself Harper."
"Just face it! You were never Keenan's friend! He just kept you away because he needed a servant!" Rex yelled.
"Wha-"
"Harper! Rex! Enough!" Vince ordered. "Rex, leave. Harper, I'm not going to warn you again." Rex left the room as Harper lay on her bed. Vince took a deep breath and walked out of the room.
Keenan decided to go to Harper and Toby's house. The front door was unlocked, so he walked right in. He started cleaning it; since both Harper and Toby were gone for a while, their house started getting dirty. He felt he had to do this. He started with the living room, cleaning as much as he could. After that, noticing a couple of dirty dishes in the sink, he cleaned them and then headed to Harper's room. The first thing he noticed was a picture frame. It was of Harper and Toby's parents. They seemed to have taken a family photo at the park. Considering Harper and Toby looked shorter in the picture, they seemed to be many, many years younger than they are now. Keenan picked up the picture frame to clean it, but something fell out of it. It was a Duel Monsters card. But it wasn't a normal card; it was special. Keenan read the text and gasped. Just then, his cell rang and he answered it.
"Yo, bro! It's Xavier! Come to the Raga Shop. Trixie, Yamato and I are there. Well, Yamato's on his way. We need to talk." The two hung and Keenan pocketed the special card and headed to the Raga Shop.
Keenan arrived at the Raga Shop and saw not only his friends but other kids there, the latter dueling. Keenan headed to the table his friends were at. "Hey guys. What's going on Xavier?"
"Let's wait for Yamato." The three decided to wait and watched one of the duels to spend the time.
5 minutes later, Yamato arrived at the Raga Shop and met with his friends. "What's going on guys?"
"Okay, we're all here. I noticed that we're all over the place, so that's why I think…we need a base. I know the Materia Organization has one." Xavier said.
"Here, at the Raga Shop?" Yamato asked.
"Well, yeah. We…yeah…we'll come here to talk about anything Materia Organization related. So, who's in?" Xavier put his hand in the middle, quickly followed by Keenan with a smile. Following his lead, Trixie and Yamato did so too. "Good. As a first matter, we need to know why Vince and they want to be immortal. Do you remember what he said Keenan? They wanted to be immortal, but he didn't say why."
"How would we know?" Keenan asked. "But he's intent on doing so, and he brainwashed Harper into doing so."
"No, I don't think he did."
"What!? Of course he did!"
"No. About a week ago, I went to her house and in her room, I saw that the picture frame of the three of us was gone. She took it with her. Don't you get it? I think deep down, she's still Harper, but with everything that happened to her and her brother, she's just angry." Keenan then remember that he pocketed a card, so he pulled it out. "Hey guys, I almost forgot! I was at her house before I came here and this card was in a picture frame of her family." Xavier grabbed the card and read the text. "Harper honey, your father and I want to apologize for leaving you and your brother all alone. I know you feel empty with us gone, but that's not true. Always remember that you have your friends and you'll make new friends. Your heart is so pure and you care for your brother more than anything. Don't let evil into your heart. Don't let anger fill your heart. We will always love you and Toby honey."
"She must have forgot."
"We have to get her back you guys." Yamato said.
"And we will."
Furious, Harper decided to take a walk. She was wearing a half mask, covering the eye Rex had hit. "I can't believe that….that…grrr…hit me! But how can I get him back? It has to hurt him badly…" She looked all around at the smiling, loving people and scoffed. "Love…friendship…who needs it! They're all going to betray you in the end." She looked up and saw Keenan and friends leave the shop. Keenan, Yamato and Trixie went one way as Xavier went the other; towards Harper. Harper hid behind a tree as he approached closer. "Ugh…It's Xavier. I still have to find a way to get Rex back. I won't forgive him!"
"I wonder when Rex will get back. It's so boring here." Xavier said to himself. He walked past Harper, not knowing she was there. She chuckled. "Too bad Xavier; he's not coming."
"Huh?! Harper!? What are you doing here? Why are you wearing a mask?"
"…I…Rex hit me in the face!" Harper teared.
"He what!?"
"I…he tried to take off my shirt and touch me! I was helpless!"
"Rex!?" Xavier took off Harper's mask and gasped. "Your eye! Rex did that to you!? You must have done something to him!"
"I…was just trying to come to you all and apologize! I was wrong! Xavier, I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!"
"…oh Harper." Xavier hugged Harper, but unbeknownst to him, she smiled wickedly. "Okay Harper. I'll deal with Rex. No one should ever hit a girl."
"A-actually…I-I know where he is. Follow me." Harper conjured a portal and disappeared into it, confusing Xavier. "Wait, he's in the Materia Organization?" Shrugging it off, Xavier followed her. Inside the base, Xavier followed Harper up to Rex's room, where she told him to wait.
"Hey Rex. How's the arm?" Harper asked with a smile.
"How's your eye?"
"S-shut-up!"
"You shut-up! Besides, it's your fault!" Because Vince had twisted his arm, Rex had a cast on it.
"Well, I've got a surprise for you." Rex was in his room, lying on his bed. He smiled. "Are you finally going to be my maid?"
"No, you baboon. Trust me; you won't like what I have in store for you."
"Whatever, just get out of my room."
"So, why are you in the Materia Organization Rex? You must have a reason. Why do you want to be immortal?"
"Leave, before I make you wish you never joined us."
"So Harper was right!" Xavier yelled, shocking Rex and making Harper smile. "X-Xavier!"
"Heh. Just in time." Harper said.
"Rex, what is this? You're really working with these meat heads?"
"Harper! What did you do!? Why is he here!? Wait...You told him!?"
"I sure did."
"No! You weren't supposed to do that!? He wasn't supposed to find out! Vince is going to be furious!"
"Why lie to us!? Rex!" Xavier cried out. "We trusted you! Keenan trusted you! I thought we were boys."
"…I was told by Vince to pretend to be Keenan's friend so we could see if he was the "Chosen One". And we succeeded."
"Rex! I can never forgive you!"
"What are you going to do about it?" As a response, Xavier activated his Duel Disk he had armed. He took it with him before heading to the Raga Shop. Rex smiled, made his own appear and activated it. They and Harper donned their Duel Gazers and the Augmented Reality appeared. "Augmented Reality Vision Link Established."
"DUEL!" The two yelled. They each drew 5 cards.
Xavier: 4000
Rex: 4000
Rex then raised his arm, his Dark Gauntlet still donned and the Shadow Province appeared.
"Rex, I never thought I would duel you like this! And I wished we didn't have to duel this way, but homie, you'll regret betraying us! I draw yo!" Xavier drew a card. "For starters, I'll bring out my homegirl; X-Saber Anu Piranha in Attack Position." The beautiful woman with long blonde, donned with red and black armor, carrying her sword appeared.
X-Saber Anu Piranha
Level 4/EARTH
Warrior
ATK: 1800/DEF: 1100
A female X-Saber Warrior, known for her graceful attacks and calm decision making in battle. Her ambition is merciless, and strikes fear in the hearts of her enemies.
"And don't count her out since she's a girl. She'll knock it out of ya!"
"Whatever. Are you done?"
"I am G."
"Then I'll start," Rex drew a card and smiled. "Harper, you remember this one, don't you? I Normal Summon Constellar Leonis in Attack Position." The silver armored beast with blue spikes on its body with blue hair, armed with an energy sword and wearing a silver cape appeared.
"And with his ability, I can Normal Summon again. So, later Leonis. I Normal Summon Constellar Zubeneschamail. Then, with his ability, I can summon another level 5 "Constellar" monster from my hand. How's Virgo?" Zubeneschamail appeared, then Virgo. "So, I build the Overlay Network and Overlay my 2 level 5 monsters." The two monsters then disappeared into the portal that appeared and Constellar Pleiades appeared, with 2 orbs of light floating around it. (ATK: 2500/DEF: 1500)
"Oh great, it's him." Harper murmured, though Rex still heard it, causing him to smile. "That's right. I screwed you with this monster. And I'm about to mess up this joker with it. You see Xavier, that's because by detaching an Overlay Unit, I can return a monster to its owner's hand. Like Anu Piranha."
"No!"
"Too late!" One of the orbs dispersed and Pleiades raised his arm, causing Anu Piranha to disappear, back into Xavier's hand. "Now, Pleiades, attack Xavier directly!" Pleiades ran up to Xavier and stabbed him, bringing him to his knees. "Arghh!"
Xavier: 1500
Rex: 4000
"Xavier!" Harper cried out. That caused Rex to look in confusion. "Harper, are you worried about this chump?"
"What? Of course not! Don't be silly!"
"Eh. I doubt that. I set 1 card and activate Constellar Belt. Now my LIGHT monsters' abilities cannot be negated." A card appeared and Xavier drew a card. He studied his hand. "This is not ill. How could Rex do this to us? Keenan's going to be mad." Xavier said to himself.
"Hey! Stop talking to yourself and make a move!"
"Relax bro! I Normal Summon Marauding Captain in Attack Position." A warrior donned in green-bluish armor, wearing a red cape, carrying two swords appeared. (ATK: 1200/DEF: 400)
"When he's summoned, another monster can be. I Special Summon Command Knight in Attack Position." A female warrior wearing dominantly red armor, a cape, carrying a sword appeared. (ATK: 1200/DEF: 1900)
"Command Knight gives every Warrior-Type monster I control 400 extra ATK." (MC: 1600)(CK: 1600)
"Next, I activate United We Stand. Now Command Knight gains 800 ATK for each monster I control. With two, she gains 1600 ATK. Command Knight, attack Pleiades!" Command Knight dashed towards Pleiades and destroyed him with a slash.
Rex: 3300
"It's your turn my man! Attack!" Marauding Captain ran towards Rex, but he smiled as his face-down rose. "If I had set my Lumenize, this duel would have been done, but I want to mess with you some more. So I activate Xyz Soul. I can bring back any Xyz monster from my graveyard. This Trap also becomes an Overlay Unit for that Xyz monster. So come back, Pleiades!" A portal appeared and the aforementioned Xyz monster reappeared. Then, Xyz Soul turned into an orb of light that began floating around him. (OLU: 1)
"Grrr…I end my turn." A card appeared. Rex then drew a card, but was stopped by Xavier. "So, G, how long was you planning on keeping your betrayal a secret?"
"As long as I needed to. You and your friends disgust me with all your "niceness". I'm not even going to waste time explaining it to a simpleton. I detach Xyz Soul to return Command Knight to your hand." The orb of light dispersed and Pleiades raised his hand, causing the latter to disappear. "I set 3 cards and end my turn with an attack! Say hi to the Shadow Realm!" 3 cards appeared and then Pleiades ran up to Marauding Captain, intending on stabbing and destroying him, but Xavier's face-down rose and a barrier of light appeared, protecting Xavier from the ending blow. Rex smiled and Xavier took his turn. He drew a card. (3). "First, I use Pot of Greed to draw 2 cards. Then, I summon X-Saber Galahad in Attack Position." The frog armored warrior carrying a spear with a jewel embedded in it appeared.

ATK: 1800/DEF: 800
If this card attacks an opponent's monster, this card gains 300 ATK during the Damage Step only. If this card is attacked by an opponent's monster, this card loses 500 ATK during the Damage Step only. When this card is selected as an attack target, you can Tribute another "Saber" monster to negate the attack.
"Then I equip him with Fusion Sword Murasame Blade; which gives 800 ATK. Attack Pleiades! And when this G attacks, he gains 300 ATK, giving it just enough to destroy your monster!" Stronger, Galahad ran up Pleiades. But Rex smiled and his face-down rose. "I guess you forgot that I had Lumenize in my hand. When you attack my LIGHT monster, it gains ATK equal to yours. So that's an extra 2900 ATK, meaning you lose!" Pleiades shined so bright and made a counterattack on Galahad, destroying it, knocking Xavier back. "Aghrrhh!"
Something struck with Harper and for just a second, she imagined that it was an older man getting knocked back and hurt; her father. "Xavier!"
Rex chuckled. "This duel's over! And now, it's off to the Shadow Realm! Ha ha ha ha!" But another chuckle caught Rex and Harper's attention. The smoke caused by the destruction cleared and Rex and Harper were shocked to see Xavier standing up; his Life Points getting revealed: 200.
"You survived?!"
Holding his left arm, Xavier tried to explain, though he was very hurt and panting. "Y-yo, G. You…won't…defeat me that…easily. Now that I…know that you're…really…really working with the…Materia Organization, I'm going to…fight my hardest to…take you all down!"
"Eh. You are going to stop us? Look at you! But be my guest."
"I'm going to murk you homey. I'll…tell you how…I survived. I used Poison of the…Old Man. With that, I gained…1200 Life Points, letting me survive. I set 1 card…and end my…turn." 1 card appeared. Rex drew a card. "Let's end this. Pleiades, attack Marauding Captain!" Pleiades ran up to the latter, to deal the finishing blow, but Xavier's face-down rose. "I activate Sakuretsu Armor. When you attack, that monster you're…attacking with is instantly destroyed!" Pleiades suddenly shattered, but Rex didn't get mad. He instead smiled. "I end my turn."
Xavier drew a card. "First, I use Card of Demise to draw until I have 5 cards. Next, I summon a second Marauding Captain. With him out, I can summon X-Saber Pashuul in Attack Position." A warrior with long black hair, donned with blue armor and a mechanical eye, with metal knee pads appeared. He had a golden horn and a broken one on each shoulder and was carrying a bulky sword with an X on the end of the blade.

This card cannot be destroyed by battle. During each of your opponent's Standby Phases: You take 1000 damage. You must control this card in face-up Defense Position to activate and to resolve this effect.
"With the right monsters, I tune Pashuul with one of my Marauding Captains to Synchro Summon X-Saber Wayne in Attack Position." Pashuul turned into 2 green rings. The ring then passed through Marauding Captain, who in turn, transformed into 3 stars. A beam of light then enveloped Marauding Captain, passing through the rings, and a warrior with orange-like hair, wearing a cowboy hat and a torn-like cape, donned with blue armor with a gun-sword in its holster, appeared.

ATK: 2100/DEF: 400
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your hand.
"When Wayne's summoned, I can Special Summon X-Saber Airbellum in Attack Position." An armored beast with claws appeared.

When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent by a direct attack, discard 1 random card from your opponent's hand.
"I didn't want to believe it Rex, and I didn't. But now, I regret ever being friends with you! X-Sabers, attack Rex directly!" Both of Xavier's monsters rushed at Rex, but suddenly, there was a bright light. It was so bright that it engulfed Xavier's monsters, making them disappear. "You expect me to lose to you? Yeah right. I used Light Flash."

If your opponent attacks you directly, you can negate all attacks this turn. When this Set card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard; you can banish LIGHT monsters from your graveyard; if you do, banish monsters on your opponent's side of the field equal to the number of LIGHT monsters you banished.
"But how G!? I destroyed all Spells and Traps!"
"Stop calling me G! You helped me when you destroyed my face-down. When Light Flash is sent to the graveyard, by banishing Virgo, Zubeneschamail and Leonis, all three of your monsters were banished."
"Grrr…I end my turn." Rex drew a card, looked at it and smiled. "This duel is over!"
"Rex! Harper! What is the meaning of this!?" A voice yelled out. The two looked and gasped; it was Vince, along with Vestal and Nocturnal. "S-sir! What are you doing back so early!?"
"What is one of Keenan's friends doing here!?"
"Don't act dumb G! Harper told me everything! I know Rex is with you!" Xavier explained. Vestal and Nocturnal audibly gasped while Vince did too, but to a lesser intent. His face then turned angry. "How did he find out!?"
"Talk to your newest recruit." Rex said. Vince turned to Harper, who became a little scared. "I told you that Keenan and his friends could not find out Rex's secret! You disobeyed me Harper!"
"I'm so sorry master! But I had to get Rex back for what he did to me!"
"It's doesn't matter! Once I get out of here, Keenan's going to know-" Xavier started to say.
"Oh, that's not going to happen." Vince said. Vince motioned to Nocturnal and he disappeared so fast and reappeared in the same spot, having knocked Xavier out in the process. Vince then proceeded to Xavier and held his hand to his forehead. Vince's hand started to glow a black color. Seconds later, the glowing stopped and a portal appeared. Vince threw Xavier into it; with it disappearing afterwards.
Duel: No Result
"Harper, I gave you an order not to let Keenan and his friends find out about Rex."
"What did you do to him?!"
"Are we caring about him now? I erased his memory of the last hour. He won't remember ever finding out Rex's secret. Since you seem to not follow my orders, and since you seem to hate Rex, you will have to do whatever Rex says. And if you don't, I WILL kill you, understand?"
"But…y-yes sir." Vince, Nocturnal and Vestal all walked out while Rex smiled. "I hate to break it to you, sweetie. But Vince has no limits on this; so that means you'll do whatever I say. So….I'll let you off easy. Clean my room."
"…yes sir." Harper was about to leave to get some cleaning supplies, but Rex stopped her. "Where are you going?"
"To get something to clean your room."
"But you already have cleaning supplies. On your hands and knees and lick up every speck and dirt; like the dirty, scared dog you are."
"What!? No!"
"Or should I go get Vince?"
"…no."
"No, what?"
"No. sir."
Xavier was transported by the portal back outside where Harper made her portal. But he was unconscious. Luckily for Xavier, Keenan had come back that way, and noticed him. "Xavier! Xavier! Are you okay!?"
"Y-yeah, I…I think so."
"What happened!? Why are you lying on the ground!?"
"I don't…know. I was leaving here and I…I don't know. Maybe I collapsed, but I don't remember feeling sick."
"Let's get you to the hospital!"
"No. I just…need to….ugh! I just need some rest. I'm heading home."
"You need me to walk you?"
"No. I'm…fine. Later." Xavier waved goodbye and walked home. After a few seconds, Keenan walked off too.
Author's Note: Whoa….Rex is not the coolest guy huh? Before people assume, how I wrote Rex does not reflect my own outlook. Other than that, how was the chapter? If there were any mistakes, please tell me, so I can fix them. Yamato2706, I'll be waiting for your PM….ha ha ha…ahem. Also, I'm sorry if Xavier's duel sucked, but he hasn't dueled in forever, so I just needed him to duel. But I'll make it up very soon. See you all later.
After being gone for Spring Break, Blake and Rex return, getting introduced to Trixie. They all return to school, but David, Harper's ex-boyfriend, returns, intending on settling the score with her. But since Harper's gone, Blake, surprisingly, steps up and duels him. Next Time: Back to School
