Chapter 23

Percy POV

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" I shout at Zach, grabbing his shirt and slamming him against a locker.

"What do you mean?" He asks with a look of pure innocence. I slam him against the locker and again and this time he winces, but smirks.

"You know exactly what I mean," I say, my voice low and dangerous. By now, we have a whole crowd surrounding us.

His smirk grows into a grin and he says, "You might now want to do anything, Annie will be mad."

"How do you know what she told me?" I ask, loosening my grip on his shirt.

"I have my ways," He says and I drop his shirt.

"If you're trying to get her, why would you do that?" I ask.

"I'm smarter than you think, you know," He says flattening down his shirt with an evil smirk, "I actually know how to think before I act."

All I see is red and I grab his shirt one hand, and raise my fisted hand, getting ready to strike him square in the nose when:

"PERSEUS JACKSON PUT THAT FIST DOWN RIGHT NOW!"

I turn around suddenly to see a red faced Annabeth push her way through the crowd, Thalia and Piper following close behind.

I take this moment (though it is the wrong time) to actually see what she's wearing today.

She has her hair up in a messy bun, tan Uggs, leggings, and a gray sweatshirt.

She looks absolutely gorgeous.

The crowd scoots away, not trying to mess with Annabeth as she glares at them. Then she turns back to us.

"Percy," She says sternly, "I thought I told you-"

She cuts off suddenly and closes her eyes, like she's trying to cool down.

"What are you-"

"Counting to 10," She answers back calmly, a little too calm if you ask me. She opens her eyes after a little bit and glares at us.

"Can't you two not be immature for once?" She says, her eyes softening a bit, and she walks off with Piper and Thalia.

"Annabeth, wait!" I start to run after her, but she ignores me and keeps walking. I turn back around to tell Zach off, but he's already gone.

I scowl to myself, and stand in the empty halls.

-.-.-.-

For all the classes that Annabeth and I have together, she didn't say anything.

She didn't even look at me.

Jason, Nico, and I are walking to the lunchroom, and a bunch of people are pointing or whispering about me. They are probably trying to figure out if we're still dating or not.

I don't even know myself.

"Dude, she's pissed," Jason whispers and I glare at him.

"No shit, Sherlock," Nico says and I shake my head and look away.

"You should talk to her," Nico says.

"Don't you think I've tried?" I snap back at them as we walk into the lunchroom. They back off a little bit.

I sigh and run a hand through my hair, "Sorry, guys. I just don't know what to do."

"Well, now would be a perfect time to decide," Jason says, nodding his head towards the door. I turn around to see Annabeth, Piper, Thalia, and Rachel walk in.

Annabeth looks kind of deflated, and I stand up and walk towards her.

Without saying a word, I grab her hand, pull her away from Thalia, Piper, and Rachel, and drag her out of the cafeteria.

"What the hell?!" She shouts pulling her hand away from my grasp.

"We need to talk, and you know we do," I say and she scowls, crossing her arms over her chest and looking the other way.

"Whatever," She says and I just stare at her. Her eyes flicker over to my glance and she bites her lip.

Finally, she says something.

"Ok, fine, the problem is you don't listen!" She says harshly and jabs my chest with her finger hard, "I told you not to do something, and there you go about to punch-"

I cut her off of her little speech and cup her face in my hands and lean down and press my lips against hers.

She tenses up at first, before kissing me back. After a while she seems to come out of a trance because she breaks our kiss.

"Kissing me isn't going to fix everything," She says, placing her hands on her hips and trying but failing to sound mean.

"It looks like it just did," I say, smirking as a smile tugs at her lips.

"Shut up Seaweed Brain," She says, pushing me and walking back into the cafeteria. I grin and walk back in after her.

I don't really know if she even has forgiven me or not, but I don't really care.

Annabeth POV

*Spring has just come*

"Ladies, get your lazy asses up. We're going to the mall!" Piper squeals and Thalia and I stop throwing popcorn at the screen to groan.

"Seriously?" Thalia and I ask at the same time.

"What's the point?" Thalia asks and we look at her expectantly.

Today is a warm day, so Piper has her hair out and a black and green feather in it. She's wearing a cute sundress and brown sandals with white lace.

"I just thought since it's pretty hot, we could go to the mall," She says placing her perfectly manicured hands on her slim hips, and pouting a little bit.

"Please," She begs, widening her eyes a little bit to make her seem innocent.

Thalia and I share a glance.

"The boys will be there," She says in a sing-songy voice.

"That will make me want to stay right here even more," Thalia says, sinking back into the couch.

"Whatever, I guess all that food will go to waste," Piper says, pretending to be studying her nails. Thalia hops off of the couch and runs to her bedroom.

"I guess that means I have to come too," I ask Piper and she nods while smirking.

I sigh and get up and walk to my room. I decide to wear jean shorts, a no sleeve white shirt with palm trees in front of a sunset in the middle, and white Keds. I put my hair to the side and braid it.

I walk downstairs to see Piper on the couch, throwing popcorn at the screen.

"Where's Thalia?" I ask and she stops

"Still putting make up on," She answers back with an eye roll. I sit next to her and start throwing popcorn at the horrible movie.

Once Thalia comes downstairs we drive to mall and meet the boys inside the entrance.

"It always takes them so long," I hear Jason stage whisper to Percy and Nico and I glare at them.

They all laugh and Piper scoffs.

Percy kisses my cheek and grabs my hand, dragging me to walk around the mall.

"Whoa there Percy, I'm taking the girls shopping for Prom," Piper says and Thalia and I stare at her with horror.

"You're kidding," I say and she just smirks evilly.

"Nope," She says then turns to the boys, "I expect you all to go get tuxedos. Meet us at the food court in about an hour."

"Yes ma'am," They all say, saluting. I kiss Percy as Piper drags Thalia and me away.

"Alright ladies, let's go shopping," Piper says, clapping her hands together.

-.-.-.-

After about trying on 15 dresses, 20 pairs of shoes, and shopping for lots of jewelry, we finally made it back to the food court, approaching three very hungry boys.

We didn't actually get anything, so we basically just wasted 2 hours of doing absolutely nothing.

"Finally," Nico says.

"Did you guys actually even buy anything?" Jason asks and we shake our heads.

"I can't believe it," Percy says, shaking his head playfully.

"Neither can I," Thalia and I say at the same time and Piper just scowls.

After we all eat we all go our separate ways to walk around the mall. Percy and I go and start walking. We go in a few stores but don't actually buy anything. We get a pretzel and share it while Percy talks about people who walk by.

"You're so mean Percy," I say as he talks about a woman with a big butt but a tiny body.

"What?" He says innocently, but I know he knows what I'm talking about.

"What am I going to with you?" I mumble and he pouts. I kiss him on the cheek and he smiles.

"Well, well, well, isn't that sweet?" A voice says and Percy and I turn around on the bench.

There stands Zach and Calypso, trying but failing to be a couple. They awkwardly hold hands and stand next to each other like one of them has an infection of spiders on their body.

"Zach," Percy says.

"Calypso," I say and stand up, as does Percy. We go around to the back of the fence while I stand in front of Calypso and he stands in front of Zach.

"Wow, Calypso, it looks like you've captured another boy toy in your grasp. Who's next?" I ask innocently, cocking my head slightly to the side as she scowls. I'm easily a few inches taller than her, and I have always been, so it's easier for me to be intimidating.

"Zach, are you just going to fuck and run? Or will you actually treat her like a man should?" Percy asks Zach.

"I could ask the same thing," Zach says and Percy clenches his fist. I put my hand on his chest and turn to glare at them.

"We have to go," I tell them and Zach smirks in triumph. I just roll my eyes and drag Percy away from them.

Then I think of what Zach said.

Is that really true?

No, of course not, it would have already happened if it was.

Right?

"Annabeth," Percy says and I turn to him, "You do know what Zach said isn't true, right?"

He looks desperate, because he probably knows what I was thinking about.

"Of course," I say, but even I think I sound uncertain. Percy's expression turns hurt.

"You don't believe me," He says, his voice so hurt I want to cry.

"O-of course I do," I say, my voice failing me.

"No, you don't," He says, pulling his hand out of my grasp and walking towards the exit. I look down at my hand, which feels strangely empty and cold, then turn around to see Zach handing Calypso some money.

He notices me staring and smirks a little. He shakes his head a little as if saying you fucked up.

And he's right, I did.

So I have to fix it.

Oh my gosh I am so so so so so so so so sorry. I haven't been having any ideas, and so I just started writing and they all came for me while I was writing. So, there was lots of revising.

The end of my school year and dance year is approaching so everything is crazy. I've had 2 dance shows and 2 more coming up, and I have the standardized state testing this past week and two days of this week, so I've been studying like crazy and getting more homework than usual. We also have finals coming up.

My next update will be for Goode High School for the Performing Arts.

Choice A got the most votes, so I will be doing Choice A which I am very excited about.
