A/N: Hi, yes, I'm sorry for the umpteenth time that it has taken me a month to update (again). I definitely feel like a failure as a writer since NONE of you guessed the POV from last chapter correct. It was actually supposed to be Bo but I kind of like half of your Tamsin arguments better so let's just pretend it was supposed to be Valkyrie Lips in the first place, okay, cool :D
Anywho, this was originally going to be a good bit longer because I felt like I owed you guys a decent chapter but I currently have a pretty girl on my shoulder so pretty girl wins over fanfic, so sorry, I still love you though :) Now, onwards we go!
Disclaimer: I am for real running out of ways to tell you that I don't own Lost Girl so let's just pretend I did it in a super witty way and move on, yeah?
Bo felt her heart pounding as hard as it physically could in its weakened state. They were screwed. Aloysia, Tamsin, Lauren, and herself were all restrained in the highest form with their powers seemingly stripped from them in their dank prison. All she wanted to do was keep the little girl who had so easily captured her heart and consumed her life safe from harm. That was when it hit her. Lori.
Her head snapped up painfully and she used every bit of pitiful strength she could muster to call upon her voice. "Tamsin," she groaned, almost inaudibly. "Tamsin, look at me," her voice stronger this time.
The blonde forced herself to look at Bo, with great effort. Her face visibly fell at the sight of her battered lover, strung up and bound like an animal. "I'm going to kill that son of a bitch. He will regret the day he decided to harm my family. That bastard is doomed." She began to shake with rage. The nerve of this man, to think he can just waltz in and attack her family, her friends, her home...her Bo? He had another thing coming for him if she had any say, and she was going to make damn sure that she had the only say.
"Tamsin, focus," Bo panted, growing more and more aware of her quickly fading consciousness. "Babe, listen to me. Before we blacked out, what did you do with Lorelei? Where is she, Tams, please? Is she safe?"
"I- I think so..." Tamsin strained her memory to recall the events before the attack. "Yeah, yeah she should be. When you ran out I made her hide under the sink in our bathroom. I told her to stay there and not come out until one of us came for her."
Bo felt her throat going dry and her eyes welling up. Lorelei – her Lorelei, alone and scared while the only mothers she had left were taken from her. After she took the life of the little fae girl's birth mother, Bo had made it her personal mission to become the child's make-shift family. When Lorelei herself didn't hesitate to kill the woman who helped raise her in order to eliminate a threat to Tamsin, the succubus knew that she had done something right – or maybe something terribly, terribly wrong, she hadn't decided yet. All she knew was that the little girl had lost enough in her short lifetime, no way in hell would she allow her to lose any more.
Without warning, a dull flash of light illuminated the small, dark cell. When the brightness faded, there were no longer four people in the dungeon, but six.
"Look kid, I don't mean to be a negative Nancy here, but how do we even know this is going to wo- holy Donatella Vercace!"
Bo's tired eyes grew wide at the sudden appearance in the middle of the room. After taking a moment to catch up to the situation, she found her voice.
"...Kenzi?" she questioned, not quite sure if what she saw was real or not.
"Well that's new," Tamsin said, her brow raised in surprise.
"Hey guys, how's it going?" Kenzi asked with a nervous chuckle as she glanced anxiously around the room.
Tamsin put on her best bitch face and directed it at the little human. "Oh, just peachy, Kenz, really! We're just hanging here for our own enjoyment, waiting for our full body massages and HOW DO YOU THINK IT'S GOING YOU LITTLE-"
"Tamsin," Bo warned, silencing her girlfriend before she had the chance to inflict any real damage with that acid tongue of hers. "Kenzi, how did...wh- how did you find us?"
"I'm as clueless as you are on this one bombshell. That's a question for the tiny terror over here," Kenzi said, looking around the damp cell with her nose wrinkled in disgust. Bo looked expectantly to Lorelei, who had yet to move or speak.
The little hybrid shrugged her thin shoulders. "I just closed my eyes and wished I was with you guys. When I opened them again, we were here."
"I hate to break up this lovely discussion we're having here, but can someone maybe, I dunno, get us down from here," Tamsin hissed, obviously growing more impatient by the second.
"Hey pipsqueak, go show your moms that cool new trick of yours, huh?" Kenzi suggested with a wink and a grin.
Bo and Tamsin looked at each other hesitantly as Lorelei's lips spread into a massive, excited, toothy smile. The little Nixie raced over to where Bo was chained and stretched her skinny arms as close to the succubus's wrist shackles as she could reach. The brunette cocked an eyebrow in mild amusement as Lorelei's brow furrowed deeply and her mouth hardened into a solid line of thorough concentration and focus. Her amber eyes stared meaningfully at the cold, steel cuffs. Suddenly, they weren't so cold and steely anymore. When Bo twisted her neck around to look at the bonds above her, the metal began to disintegrate until it had completely evaporated into thin air. The succubus fell to the stone floor below with a muted thud.
Every jaw in the room fell open apart from those of Lorelei and Kenzi. The powerful tike relaxed her expression and smirked proudly. That smirk is familiar...wonder where she learned that from. Bo glanced briefly at the Valkyrie, smiling a bit internally. The Russian simply smiled and raised her expressive brows at her friend, still in a heap on the ground.
After momentary silence, Tamsin spoke up. "I say again...well that's new..." Bo rolled her eyes at the comment as she struggled to stand. Luckily, she had managed to avoid any major injuries bar the blow to her skull and, with some help from Kenzi, she was able to get back on her feet with moderate difficulty.
Lorelei wasted no time in making her rounds along the perimeter of the small room, freeing the remaining three women from their chains in no time. When the last of Lauren's cuffs had faded away, the doctor gazed astonished at the tiny girl running back to Bo and Tamsin.
"Instantaneous molecular manipulation...incredible," the doctor breathed as she rubbed her sore wrists absentmindedly.
"And she's only nine years old, Doc," Tamsin said with a wink. "Just wait til she figures out the concept of practical jokes. Now that I look forward to." Bo lightly swatted the blonde's shoulder as she approached her lover. Remembering the older woman's slashed thigh, she dipped her body beneath Tamsin's side for support.
"I doubt how much she will be 'figuring out' so much as her mother teaching her, babe," the brunette said with a little grin as she gazed up at the Valkyrie.
"Got it!" Kenzi's voice snapped them out of their thoughts. The little human had apparently successfully picked the lock on the heavy door, as she proved by throwing it open with a swift, hard tug.
"I knew I kept you around for a reason, Kenz," Bo swooned teasingly as she approached the small goth, Tamsin hobbling along beside her, and gave a quick peck to her best friend's temple.
"Yeah, yeah, sugarcrotch...drinks on you tonight," Kenzi said back with a small smile playing on the corner of her lips. "Now, let's get the hell out of here, mama be hungry!"
The battered group of six gradually made their way through a maze of thin tunnels and corridors. Lauren supported Aloysia's broken leg, Bo assisted Tamsin, Kenzi-in-stealth-mode crept a few steps ahead of the group with Lorelei hot on her heals to make sure they steered clear of trouble.
After what seemed like hours of hobbling, tripping, limping, and stumbling around blindly, they managed to find their way to the mouth of what appeared to be a massive cave that lead to a vast, open clearing of tall grass. It was still dark outside, the moon still hovering high above their heads in the starless night sky. Dark and looming trees created a barrier of blackness around the edges of the clearing.
"So, I'm just thinking out loud here...but, why is it that Lorelei's powers worked back there but none of ours did?" Aloysia spoke up as the crew exited the cave and began their way through the field.
"Because your Lorelei is blessed with the royal blood of a Cambion, you ignorant little whore."
Everyone froze in their tracks and spun around in search of the cold, deep voice. The malicious man in dark stood no more than ten feet from them, flanked on all sides by his white-clad minions.
"Now," he said flatly, his voice carrying a strong sense of superiority, "enough playing games. I'll be taking what is rightfully mine," he paused and let a sickening grin spread wide across his unshaven face before continuing, "the girl...and your lives."
"Not on your last, pitiful breath, joker," Tamsin spat, pulling herself upright and away from Bo's support, no doubt in an attempt to appear stronger than her current physical state.
Tynan clicked his tongue in disapproval. "Oh, dear Valkyrie," he spoke to the blonde as if she were something to be pitied. Yeah, right. "Don't you see? Not only do you have no chance, but I've already won."
A/N: Yoooooooo. Hope you enjoyed this smidgen of a chapter. I have a whole like action sequence planned out for next chapter so get pumped. Also, sorry for the lack of sex lately in this story. I'll get to it eventually...children (especially baby Nixie/Cambion hybrids) tend to put a damper on the whole "nightly succu-games" thing. But I'll figure it out...at some point. You'll be rewarded for your patience, I swear.
Thanks again for all of you who have put up with my inconsistent and puny updating for so long. You guys are the world to me! I love reading your opinions and views on each chapter, it really makes the writing worth it! :)
