Marshall Lee's P.O.V

I waited in the Waiting Room for Fionna to get out of her surgery. I floated in the air invisible, close to the ceiling, so no one could feel or see me. While I was up there I had a huge pain of guilt through out my body. How could I have been so stupid? I should have been more careful, Fionna doesn't deserve this pain. I do. She deserves so much better than me, but she wanted me. She wanted me and no one else.

Fionna's P.O.V

I opened my eyes. A nurse was right next to me.

She smiled and said," Your surgery went well. It is 4:00 in the afternoon. Please rest here while I get your friend Cake."

I nodded my head. I didn't want to see her at the moment. I am still mad about what she said about Marshall Lee.

"About time you opened up those eyes of yours," A familiar voice said.

"Marshall Lee," I said smiling.

"Hey there. How do you feel?" He asked.

"Fine, I feel all loopy," I said.

"Oh, you're on drugs. Ha," He said laughing.

"Whatever. Where are you?" I asked.

"Right here," He said turning visible, Marshall was right in my face," So how long are you going to take it in here. It gets boring in here from my experience."

"It's getting boring and I have to go to Gumball's Ball tomorrow. I wonder what the theme is? I hope it's not pink," I said.

"What a wad," Marshall Lee said.

Then the nurse opened the door and Marshall Lee turned invisible. I saw Cake walking up to me and telling the nurse to give her and I a minute alone.

"How was the surgery?" Cake asked.

"It went great. I don't feel anything," I replied.

"Fionna, I am sorry for what I did. I didn't mean it," she said.

"You know what Cake! NO! I will not sit here and take this. You mean what you said about him. You are always with Lord Monochromicorn, but do I say anything? No," I yelled.

Cake looked at me with tears in her eyes. I didn't feel sorry for her because she deserved it. She was always with Lord Monochromicorn. I wasn't jealous, I like him. Cake was just never around anymore.

"You're right Fionna," Cake said," I haven't been a sister to you. You have been there for me, but I haven't. I need to support your decisions, not look down on you because I feel a certain way. I will be more supportive and learn to trust you. I am so sorry."

I smiled and said," Thanks Cake. I really needed to hear that."

We leaded in to hug each other. I hope everything is going to be ok.

"Guess what Fionna," Cake said while sitting back in her chair.

"What?" I asked.

"Tomorrow is the party that celebrates what you have done for the Candy Kingdom," she said.

"Yeah, I know," I said.

" Well I know what theme it is going to be," Cake said with a smile.

"Oh Glob, please don't tell me it's pink," I said.

"No it's not pink. It's a Masquerade Ball!" Cake exclaimed.

"Masquerade? Well that is different," I said.

"Made your dress and mask and everything!" Cake said smiling.

"Cool Cake. Thanks," I said.

Then Marshall Lee reappeared from my other bedside and said," You girls are not going to talk about dresses all day, are you?"

"No Marshall," I replied.

"Hey Cake," he said.

"Hey Marshall Lee," she said.

To break the ice, I said,"You know Marshall, you can go to party with us."

"Did you forget that they want me dead?" He said.

"Not if you're wearing a mask. They won't know you if you have a mask on and we cover up the bite marks on your neck. You will still have sharp teeth, but people will over look that," I said.

"I guess that could work. I have something I can wear for that kind of party," he said.

"Yeah!" I said with a big smile.

Marshall was coming to the party with me, this is going to be fun.

-The Next Day-

Throughout the night Marshall Lee would talk to me, but we just slept most of the night.

After I was discarded from the hospital Cake was waiting for me. It was about 1:00 in the afternoon. Marshall Lee followed me out of the hospital invisible. I followed Cake out of the Candy Kingdom and Marshall Lee turned visible again.

"Look Marshall, I need to get Fionna ready for this masquerade so you need to go home until the party starts," Cake said.

"Ok, I will be at your house to pick you up at 7:45 Fionna," he said.

"Ok," I said.

Cake and I walked to the tree house to get ready for the party.

"Go take a shower," Cake said.

I climbed up the ladder and got in the shower. It felt nice to stop what I am doing and relax. I saw my scars of my surgery and the scar I got from the time I met Marshall Lee. It was 5:30 in the afternoon by the time I got out of the shower. When I got out of the shower I changed into a grey shirt and blue shorts. Cake grabbed me with her long arm and sat me down in a chair.

"The Ball is at 8:00 and Marshall Lee is going to pick you up at 7:45 so you need to be ready by 7:30," Cake said.

I had about 2 hours to get ready. Cake first did my hair. She brushed through the blonde curls and started to use a curling iron on my hair. She didn't let me she myself until I was all done.

"Wow Fiona. Your hair looks beautiful!" She exclaimed an hour later.

"Can I please see it?" I asked.

"No, not yet," she replied.

Then Cake did my makeup. I saw her use mascara and black eyeliner.

"Not to much make up. We don't want to over do your face. It is pretty enough," Cake said.

"So what about the dress?" I asked Cake.

"I got it down stairs, let me go get it," Cake said.

Cake got up and went down stairs. I looked at the clock by my bed and it said it was 7:00. Marshall was going to pick me up in 45 minutes. Cake came up stairs and helped me put my dress on. Cake stood back from me and Looked at me from top to bottom.

"You're so beautiful Fionna. That dress color matches your eyes," Cake said.

"Well can I see myself?" I asked Cake.

"Oh yeah, sorry Fionna," Cake said while putting me in front of a tall mirror.

Cake wasn't kidding, I was beautiful. My blonde hair was curled and it rested on my shoulders. My hair was to my hips. The dress was light blue with a dark blue band across my stomach. There were 3 layers below the dark blue band, the underneath layer was light blue, then a dark blue layer, and the last layer was light blue. It was strapless and my back showed, but it didn't bother me. I wore white flats and I thought the dress was simple, but elegant. I stood in the mirror for awhile looking at my image, I was like an upgraded Fionna.

"You can't go to a masquerade without a mask," Cake said.

She handed me a silver mask with blue spraypainted on the bottom. The design was silver and blue glitter. It wasn't to girly. I put on the mask with the dark blue strings. It pulled the outfit together. It was a real masquerade dress. I loved it. Cake was wearing a blue ribbon and a light blue cake mask to match my dress.

Then I heard a knock from downstairs. Cake went downstairs and opened the door.

"Cake it's Marshall Lee," she yelled.

I climbed down the stairs to see Marshall Lee. He wore black jeans with a black and red vest. Underneath it was a white long sleeve dress shirt. He had a red tie on and he had his red converses on. He had an all black mask on and it fit his outfit.

"Wow Fionna, you are so beautiful," he said.

"You're not so bad yourself," I said smiling.

"May I take you to this ball that hopefully won't be lame?" He asked with his hand out.

I laughed and said," You may."
