AN – Twenty-five!
Sometimes, Merlin has to wonder if Arthur knows about the magic. That he's pretending that he's clueless, because, really, how could he possibly not know at this point?
Merlin staggers around the corner, covered in ash and smelling of sulfur and cradling a newly reborn phoenix to his chest and runs straight into Arthur. "Um, I have an explanation."
"And I don't care."
Then Arthur just walks away.
And Merlin has to wonder if he knows. After all, the only other possibility is that Arthur hasn't noticed. Merlin can't accept that someone that unobservant is going to be king.
Honestly.
