Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own glee. There are several songs mentioned in this chapter that I also don't own; Dancing queen by Abba, Stay with me by Sam Smith, Happy by Pharrell , My wish by Rascal Flatts, Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney, I won't say I'm in love from Hercules, and So close from Enchanted.

AN: I forgot to add this on the last chapter. The Spanish in the last chapter was from a Google translator thing so I'm sorry if I messed it up. I know a few words in Spanish, but it's very basic stuff.

Natalie and Jessie were the first ones in the auditorium waiting to audition. While they were waiting Natalie decided to help Jessie with her English homework. Many of Jessie's teachers realized she had a reading problem early on, but her mother wouldn't let them test her. As soon as she could Natalie did research and tried her best to help her. Jessie was amazing and above average in every class, but English and reading. One thing Jessie discovered help Jessie comprehend things better was reading a loud. "Keep reading," Natalie instructed when Jessie stopped.

"I don't know how to say this word," Jessie said pointing to the page where she left off.

Natalie glanced at the page and grinned, "Deoxyribonucleic acid. It's what DNA stands for. If you like you can just say that instead of the long version."

"Okay," Jessie said before continuing to read.

"Hey guys," Bella said throwing her bag in the seat next to Jessie and sliding into a seat.

Chris wasn't to far behind taking a seat next Bella. "Coach Brown is getting on my last nerve."

"Our gym teacher is awesome," Bella said receiving a glare from Chris.

"What's up guys?" Trevor asked joining them along with Greg.

Bella was the first to answer, "Nothing much."

"Ready to get your sing on?" Maddie asked joining the rest of the group.

"Yea we are," Melody said as her and Sugar slid into a seat.

The nine kids sat in silence waiting for other students, Rachel, Mr. Shue, and Emma. Mr. Shue and Emma were helping so no one could say Rachel picked favourites. It wasn't long before the auditorium was filled with students auditioning and the eight students who decided to remain in glee from last year.

Rachel took her spot on the stage, "For those who don't know I'm Mrs. Berry the glee club teacher. Today last year's members, Mr. Shue, and Mrs. Pillsbury will be helping me choose are next glee members. To start us off we have Bella Anderson-Hummel and Maddie Evans."

Maddie and Bella both walked on the stage holding microphones. Bella went to the front of the stage and set her's down while Maddie introduced them. "I'm Maddie, and today Bella and I will be singing 'Dancing Queen' by Abba."

Bella started dancing to the music with a huge smile. Maddie waited through the intro, before; she started singing.

You can dance, you can jive
Having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen

Bella stopped dancing as Maddie sung the last line to grab her mic. She continued to sway to the music until it was her turn to sing, even then she still danced to the music.

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
Getting in swing, you came to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

Bella took a few steps backwards so her and Maddie could sing the next part together.

You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
Watch that scene dig in the dancing queen

Maddie pulled Bella into a side hug, before; they bowed. "That was good girls," Mr. Shue praised.

After a few other people it was Chris' turn. "I'm Chris and I'll be singing my favorite song today by Sam Smith called 'Stay with me'.

Why am I so emotional
No it's not a good look, gain some self-control
And deep down I know this never works
But you can lay with me so it doesn't hurts
Oh, won't you stay with me
'Cause you're all I need
This ain't love it's clear to see
But darling stay with me

"Good choice," Rachel commented as Mr. Shue wrote down a few notes.

Two students later Trevor walked on stage. "Today I'll be dancing to the song happy 'Happy'.

Mr. Shue that it was brave of him not to sing, but he had to say Trevor would be a valuable dancer in the glee club. Quinn had gotten off early and joined Rachel in the auditorium along with Santana.

Greg and Natalie stepped on the stage carrying mics and stools. They both took a seat in the middle of the stage. One of the band members took a mic stand and guitar to Greg. "Today I would like dedicate this song to a friend who's like my little sister."

"And I'm dedicating it to my best friend," Natalie added sending Jessie a huge grin.

Natalie took a deep breath as Greg and the band started playing.

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you wanna go
And if you're faced with a choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you

Natalie stopped as, Greg picked the next part up.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget
All the ones who love you in the place you live
I hope you always forgive and you never regret
And you help somebody every chance you get
But more than anything, more than anything

Natalie joined Greg for the chours.

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to
I hope you know somebody loves you and wants the same things too
Yeah, this is, my wish

Jessie hugged Natalie soon as she returned to her seat, "That was really good."

By the time it was Jessie's turn there were only three students left. Jessie walked onto the stage similar to Greg and Natalie, with a stool and her acoustic guitar. There was already a mic on a stand where she put the stool and sat down. "I'm singing 'Buetiful Soul' by Jesse McCartney."

I know that you are something special
To you I'd be always faithful
I want to be what you always needed
Then I hope you'll see the heart in me
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your buetiful
You're the one I wanna chase, you're the one I wanna hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and you're buetiful soul

She smiled as she played waiting for the next part.

Am I crazy for wanting you
Maybe do you think you could want me too
I don't want to waste your time
I don't wanna another pretty face
I don't just want anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I just want you and your buetiful soul

Quinn leaned down to whisper in Rachel's ear, "She has to be in the club. I think it'll be a good emotional outlet for her."

"I have to see what Mr. Shue thinks," Rachel whispered back.

Soon it was Sugar and Melody's turn. "Hi I'm Mel. Sugar and I will be singing 'I won't say I'm in love'," Melody said giving her moms a nervous smile.

If there's a prize for rotten judgement
I guess I've already won that
No man is worth the aggravation
That's ancient history! Been there done that
(Who'da'ya think you're kiddin', She's the earth and heaven to ya)

Sugar gave Melody a questioning look when she realized she had changed the lyrics. Melody just ignored it and continued singing her part.

(Try to keep it hidden, Honey we can see right through you)
(Girl you can't conceal it)
No chance no way I won't say it no, no
(You swoon, you sigh, why deny it)
It's to cliche I won't say I'm in love

Meldoy looked at Sugar shaking her head, "I can't," she said before running off the stage.

Sugar watched confused and turned to look at her aunts and Mami. Quinn got up to go after Melody, but Santana stopped her, "Give me a minute with her. I have a feeling that song wasn't a coincidence."

"I agree," Rachel said as Quinn retook her seat.

Santana found Melody sitting in the choir room crying, "Melody."

"It's not fair. With in the first week of highschool three different guys have asked her out. She's my bunny, mine, and I'm her star, I'm her's." Melody said between her tears.

Santana took a deep breath and sat beside Melody who promptly laid her head on her aunt's shoulder. Santana wrapped her arms around her niece. "I'm gonna give you a summary of a true story. In highschool there was this cheerleader who was a bich to everyone, but to her best friend. Her and her best friend dated several guys through the first couple of years of highschool. It was their last year of highschool when they were forced to admit they loved each other. Without that push they may never have admitted it and never become a happy married couple with three brats."

"Why do I have a feeling this story is about you and Aunt Britt?" Melody asked looking up with a ghost of smile.

Santana smiled, "Because it is."

"So I should talk to Sugar about it?" Melody asked her sitting up so she could look at Santana

"I think that would be beneficial. What about these boys who asked her out? Tell me more about them."

Melody sniffled before speaking. "Well there's Peter he's a nice guy, James who's on the football team, and Kevin even though I thought he hated all of us."

"How come I didn't know about all these boys?" Santana asked.

Something clicked in Melody's brain causing her to smile a little, "Cause she turned all of them down."

"Maybe Sugar isn't as clueless to love as you think."

Melody hugged her aunt as she jumped up, "Thank you."

Sugar was still standing on the stage. Most of the kids had left since auditions were basically over. "Why did she run away?"

"Sweetie did it ever occur to you that your song choice is kind of a summary of how you feel about Mel?" Rachel asked sitting on the edge of the stage next to Sugar.

"Maybe," Sugar said biting her lip.

Melody ran on to the stage only pausing long enough to take a deep breath," You're in my arms and the world is calm. The music playing on for only two. So close together. And when I'm with you so close to feeling alive."

"So close to reaching that famous happy ending. Almost believing this one's not pretend. And now you're beside me and look how far we've come. So far we are, so close." Sugar finished for Melody. "You remembered?"

Melody giggled and nodded, "Of course I remembered."

Sugar took a few steps closer to Melody and pulled her into a hug letting the memory return to her mind.

Flasback

A ten year old Melody laid on the couch feeling very upset with herself. She'd been so excited to go to the zoo with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Instead of seeing the animals she was at home with Shelby watching her since a cold decided to pay her a visit. Her mom and mama had offered to stay home, but Quinn had a big event and Liam really wanted Rachel to go to the zoo with them. Being the good daughter she was she insisted they go and Shelby would take care of her. Melody was surprised that not long after her moms left there was a knock at the door and Shelby announced she had a visitor. "Bunny you're supposed to be at the zoo!" Melody stated alarmed when Sugar walked into the living room with a bag in hand.

"What kind of friend would I be if I left you all alone while you were sick?" Sugar asked joining Melody on the couch. "Besides Mommy promised to takes lots of pictures and bring back a few souvenirs. Abueala even made some of her famous soup for us to have at lunch."

Melody smiled at the mention of Abueala's soup. "Thank you"

"That's not all," Sugar said digging through the bag in her lap. "I also have our favorite movie; your favorite candy, green peppermints; my favorite, skittles; sprite; and Ella the get well bunny."

Melody took the offered stuffed rabbit while Sugar put the movie Enchanted in. The two girls cuddled up on the couch and watched the movie mostly in silence. Ever so often they move to get some candy or something to drink. Sugar also felt the need to dance around the living during the 'Happy working song'. They continued there silent routine until it reached the ballroom scene. Sugar stood up and held her hand out to Melody, "Shall we."

Melody grinned as she took hold of Sugar's hand as they mimicked the dance from the movie. Melody giggled the whole time until the dance came to an end. She moved to return to the couch, but Sugar stopped her. "Every princess deserves a prince charming. Until then though," Sugar stopped to drop a kiss on Melody's cheek, "I'll protect you and make sure the villains keep away."

Melody was also reflecting back on the memory, "I think I'll take my bunny instead of a prince charming."

Sugar blushed, "And I'll take the Princess of the Stars instead of a knight in shining armour."

Quinn glanced at Santana who was holding back tears at the scene in front of them. Glancing towards her wife who was also holding tears she smiled slightly and pulled out her phone. Minutes later the song 'So close' filled the auditorium.

"Shall we?" Sugar asked taking Melody's hand.

"Sure," Melody answered as they spun around the stage.

AN: I know some of you wanted more of a conflict before they sort've got together, but trust me this is just the begenning and there will be more bumps down the road.

And as of the question for this chapter it's the same as last chapter.
