…..Hey everyone….. I'm not dead! I'm so sorry that it has been a few weeks since I have uploaded a new chapter. Apparently, I suck at keeping promises… I had no time on the weekends, and then school was keeping me busy the rest of the time. Sadly, school still comes first. But now I am on Spring Break, so I actually have time to write more! Yay! To make up for the lack of updates, I will probably upload a few chapters this week while I still have time. I hope you enjoy!

Astrid walked down the hallway, towards Odin's Room. That was where Loki spent his time.

She approached the door and gave it three soft taps.

The door unlocked, and she twisted the handle and went inside.

Loki was sitting on his bed, but when she came in, he stood up and smiled at her.

Astrid closed the door behind her quietly.

She was about to say something, when loud knocking sounded on the door.

Astrid turned to glance at the door, and then back to Loki, who had now shifted into his disguise.

He opened the door, and there stood Heimdal.

He seemed out of breath, like he had been running.

"Forgive me, my King. But Thor has sent me a message." He panted softly.

Astrid risked a quick glance at Loki to see his reaction. He hid it well.

"What did he say?" Loki asked calmly.

"He needs help. Midgard is in danger. Some great force that they do not know much of." He reported.

Astrid stepped forward. "What kind of force?"

Heimdal shook his head. "He does not know, but he does know that he will need help. The rest of his friends are already gathered." He meant the Avengers.

Astrid nodded slowly, letting this information sink in.

Loki gave a curt nod. "Thank you Heimdal."

Heimdal gave a curt bow, and Loki closed the door.

He willed the disguise away and turned back to Astrid.

"I can go and help Thor and the Avengers." She told him.

He shook his head. "You are not going anywhere."

Astrid stared at him in shock. "What do you mean? They need my help! I have to go help them!"

Loki's eyes turned to her and they were blazing. "No!"

"Why not?!" Astrid yelled back.

Loki's eyes seemed to lose their fire. "Because I am trying to keep you safe."

Astrid softened. "I have dealt with enemies before."

Loki turned away. "But not this enemy."

She paused. "You know who it is?"

He gave a humorless laugh. "How could I not? He is coming to finish the job that I failed."

Astrid froze.

"I am not letting you go anywhere near him. Who knows what he could do to you." Loki said softly.

She thought about this. She was grateful that Loki wanted to protect her, but she had to help her friends. They needed her help.

"I'm sorry Loki, but I am going to help Thor whether you want me to or not." She said softly.

Loki turned around as if to argue, but he saw the determination in her eyes.

He let out a sigh of defeat.

"Please be careful." He said, looking up at her. His eyes were scared, and filled with worry.

Astrid smiled and walked towards him to give her a hug. "You know I always am."

And with that, she left the room.

She stood in the Bifrost near Heimdal.

She wore her purple cape and armor, and sheathed her sword in her hilt. She sheathed a dagger under her forearm armor, and one in her boot.

Heimdal glanced at her. "Are you ready?"

Astrid nodded.

He placed his sword into the Bifrost and it started to spin around her. Then, it sucked her through and she was flying.

She always had loved the feeling of the Bifrost.

Suddenly, she landed hard on the ground.

Dust and smoke swirled around her, before it finally cleared away, giving her view of the Avengers.

She looked at them, happy to see them again.

Thor was there with them, and he smiled when he saw her.

Steve was also there.

Her eyes met his and he smiled at her.

She walked towards him and threw her arms around him in a tight hug.

He let out a soft chuckle. "It's good to see you, Astrid."

"And you Steve." She pulled back, looking at his face. "You look better. Happier I mean."

Steve smiled. "I am. Especially now that you have come back."

Astrid smiled.

Natasha was standing behind her when she turned around.

"I'm glad to see that you are in one piece." She said with a smile.

Astrid laughed and hugged her as well.

Banner was standing awkwardly off to one side, so she walked over to him and hugged him as well.

He stiffened slightly, but then relaxed and returned the hug.

She hugged Clint, before turning towards Tony.

He had his arms open. "Where's my hug?"

Astrid rolled her eyes and gave him a hug as well. His hands rested on her back, but slowly started sliding downwards.

Astrid turned out of his grasp quickly, but not before grabbing one of his hands and twisting it painfully, but not too painfully.

Tony let out a startled gasp and a groan. Astrid was stronger than she looked. Plus, all Asgardians were stronger than humans.

"It's good to see you too, Tony." Astrid said with a sweet smile before letting go.

He clutched his hand to his chest, while everyone else chuckled.

Astrid turned to Thor. He was smiling at her.

She had really missed him. She ran towards him, and he caught her in a giant bear hug.

"Home is not the same without you." She said when he let go.

"I know." He said a bit sadly.

Suddenly, a beam hit the ground behind them. In the same place that Astrid had arrived.

Everyone shielded themselves.

Astrid's cape fluttered in the wind and she shielded her face from the dust.

When it all cleared, she removed her arm.

And there, standing in the exact same place that Astrid had been a few minutes ago, was Loki.
