"Alright so what does everyone want to do?" I asked the group around me. The group : Carson, Bay, Alexis, and Audrey, were gathered around me. As we contemplated what to do, Audrey spoke up.

"I know how about we go zip-lining? I know that since technically we are only initiates that it isn't allowed but you know, fuck it." She shrugged, smiling crookedly at us all.

"Sounds good to me." Carson replied lazily, draping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me to him.

"Yeah sure." I mumbled out too. With the rest of the group agreeing we set off to zip-lining. We had only made it so far when a voice called out to me.

"Bethany!" I turned around and saw the face of my uncle Uriah smiling as he ran towards our group. "Whatcha kids up to?" Again he smiled, putting his hands on his hips and jokingly eyeing us all.

"Well we're going zip-lining." I almost smacked whoever had said it. Hadn't they heard Audrey mention the 'not really allowed' part?

"Zip-lining eh? Been a long time since I've done that." He chuckled again as if remembering something. "Mind if I join? I'll help with the harness and such." He offered, shrugging his shoulders.
"Sure Uncle Uriah." I grinned widely. Uriah is by far my favorite Uncle. We trekked our way to the trains, talking animatedly about our upcoming adventure. I generally liked heights so this shouldn't be a problem. In no time the train arrived and we quickly hopped aboard, whizzing to our next destination. When we arrived we leaped from the train carts and began walking to the building. Uriah had said the electricity was out so we would have to take the stairs unfortunately. Not that we really minded, as we had a race to see who could get to the top first. After arguing over who had won, we walked out onto the roof.

The wind clawed through our clothes like a cold boney hand clawing at my insides. Shivers creeped up my spine, but I wasn't concentrated on that. The view took hold of my attention, as I could see far. Almost to the fence. The beauty of this height made me take a moment just to enjoy the simplicity and calmness.

"Alright who's first?" Uriah shook me from my calm moment, as with the rest of the group.

"I'll go." A quiet voice reached my ears. Bay stepped forward from her spot behind Alexis.

"Come on over and I'll get you all set. I'll go down to catch you all right? Count to 100 before jumping." He called over his shoulder as he ran down the steps.

"This is going to be so much fun." Alexis chatted animatedly, waving her hands around dramatically. Carson came over and wrapped his arms around me from behind, placing his chin on my shoulder. He lightly brushed his lips on my neck and collar bone, sending warmth into my system.

"I'll go down before you so I can catch you." He whispered into my ear and snuggled his head into my neck. I shivered at the gesture.

"I've counted to 100, should I go? Do you think he's down there?" Bay asked nervously, her previous confidence fading.

"I'm sure he is, go for it." Audrey gave Bay a slight push to the ledge. After regaining her footing she stepped up onto the ledge, peering out into the scenery. With a shakey breath, she leaned back into the harness and stepped off the building. Bay flew down the zip cord and soon disappeared into the somewhat thick fog surrounding the buildings. Carson went next, giving me a kiss on the cheek before leaping off the edge and disappearing from view. Audrey was next to go, having no hesitation as she flew from the edge of the building to the ground below.

"You can go first." Alexis smiled politely offered, helping me get set and wishing me luck. I smiled, promising to catch her at the bottom. Taking a deep breath I let go of my hold on the building, cutting through the air quick as a blade. The wind whipped through my black tee-shirt and jeans, sending my hair in a frizzy mass of dark waves. All too soon I landed in a mass of arms, catching me before I hit the ground. I unhooked my harness, letting out a shaky laugh.

"That was amazing!" I exclaimed, hugging onto Carson's arm. He chuckled at my excitement. We hooked arms to form a sort of net for Alexis to land on. And soon enough she did. She too let out a shaky laugh, finger-combing her hair and trying to settle the frizz.

"We have to do this again!" She giggled, hopping up and down. Indeed we did.
