*I don't own any of the characters in this story. They all belong to their rightful owners at Dream Works, Walt Disney Studios, and Pixar.
**I do own Katelynn Odden and Chronos G. Reaper, however
Shocked silence was that there was on the top floor. Merida opened her mouth to ask on how a frozen world would help Pitch but Chronos turned away to stare at the large hourglass in the center of the room. It's blood red sand immobile. Chronos' voice echoed off the walls as he continued on, "No time means no movement. No movement means no time. With no time or movement, the world crumbles and listens to whomever it will fix the flow. Pitch must've learned on how to use the Sands ever since he stole them from me. If he stole them in December, that gave him four months to figure them out. Pitch is a smart bloke so without a doubt he could find out their uses and secrets."
"This ain't the first time this happened, right, mate? He probably remembers from last time." Bunnymund chipped in.
Chronos spun around and gave the six foot rabbit a vicious glare. "That was a long time ago…" he growled behind his teeth.
"What are you two talkin' bout?" Merida asked, confused by the change of the conversation.
They ignored her. "Right before the Dark Ages, right?" Bunnymund urged. "I'm pretty sure I recall you and Pitch have scrambled before."
"Shut it, chap." Chronos hissed. "If you mention that bloody age one more time, your mouth will have an apple in it."
Bunnymund rose his paws up. "I was just saying, mate. No need to beat around the bush."
"Not if the bush beat the beater first…" Chronos growled. The two were in their faces now.
"Bunny…" North warned him. "Let it go."
Bunnymund crossed his arms over his chest. "I was just saying that Mr. Gloomy over here has dealt with Pitch before."
"You have?" Jack eyes went over to Chronos.
"Everyone has dealt with Pitch before, Frost." Chronos snapped. The protector of time looked over the edge of anger now.
The look in Chronos' eyes made Jack immediately back off. He looked like he was going to kill him on the spot. Jack scratched the back of his head awkwardly and cleared his throat before saying, "So back to the topic beforehand…?"
"Oh. Right…" Chronos' anger somewhat went away. Every once and a while he would shoot Bunnymund an angry glance as he continued, "Now. What has to happen is that we need to get rid of the rest of the Negatives. The timeline is already messed up so we may as well because they all share the same fate…"
Merida flinched at the word. Fate wasn't her friend anymore at this point. "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is that they were all killed in their own times. And here's the fun fact…" Chronos eyes fixed on Merida. "Your Viking friend took out that beast the exact same way in his time."
"How's that possible?" North looked baffled.
"Time is a very ironic thing. Even though the timeline is mostly done for, the things of the past repeat in the present. That means that carrot top will do the exactly the same thing back if she was still in her past, kill the demon bear."
"I killed Mor'du?!" Merida exclaimed, absolutely shocked.
"Well, no. Not literally. Spoiler for your future of the past, Mor'du was going to eat you and your bear shifted mother saved you. There was a brawl and one thing led to another and Mor'du got squashed."
Merida blinked. Twice. "How…? My mom was a…bear?"
"Oh, of course you don't know that because North pulled you out before that even happened." Chronos took a deep breath. "Anyway, you Four, except for Frost, have dealt and destroyed with the Negatives in your lives before. It is just that they haven't happened yet for you because you were peeled away from our times before the events could play out. Viking has already done his piece of his future so you and Rapunzel will have to do the same." He shrugged. "And who knows? Maybe vanquishing the Negatives like you were supposed to will heal the timeline and no one is following this, are they?"
In honesty, they all shook their heads cluelessly.
Chronos groaned then re-explained, "Carrot top needs to get rid of this Mor'du and Rapunzel needs to get rid of the witch. It may, or may not, bring everything back to normal."
"Only them?" Jack asked. "I mean, they're really powerful. They need help to get rid—"
"If makes you stop yammering, then yes you can help get rid of them." One of Chronos' locks suddenly grew to a dead white.
Tooth stared at the lock of hair. "U-um…Chronos…?"
"What?"
Merida pointed at the white lock. "Your hair…it…"
Chronos eyes widened and turned to see his reflection on the hourglass. "My God…it's happening already."
"What is?"
Chronos slowly turned back to the Guardians. He ran his hand down his face in distress. Jack wondered how Chronos managed not to snag his eyebrow, snake bite, or his two bar piercings. Chronos said grimly, "It comes with the job. If time stops and doesn't get fixed soon…I…I…I'll die."
