*I apologize for a previously posted version of this chapter, it was unedited and I made a mistake between my Logan and the original Gilmore Girls Logan! I don't own either of them! This is the correct chapter. I hope you enjoy a longer update and as always R&R you're reviews keep me and this story going. Xoxo-Hoopsandstuds*

"No." I answered not even willing to think about another answer.

"Ace, come on they deserve to know. We have the paternity test done."

"Awesome, send them that and a picture of her and we'll call it a day." I argued with him while I was finishing up an article in my office. I had to stay late that day so I finally caved and was letting Lena spend the night at Logan's, she was very excited to sleep in a big kid bed. Logan was taking the couch, he treated our girl like a princess and she loved it, she had even started calling him Daddy. We were really becoming a family; we had explained to her that we were 'dating' which was a difficult conversation because she wanted us to get married so Logan could be home all the time.

"You know that's not the same thing."

"As far as I'm concerned your family is Honour and Josh and they can see her anytime they want! She loves Katie, she still doesn't really understand what cousin means but they're friends. We have a happy little set up Logan, why do you want to bring your parents into it?"

"Your grandparents know about Lena, how long you think it'll be before they spill it to my parents."

"I don't want Lena to meet them and they hate her because she's a by-product of me. She already thinks Emily hates her, I can't stand seeing her that upset again."

"Okay, how about this. You come with me and we tell my parents about Lena, show them the paternity test and take a picture but-,"

"Your plan was so good why are you messing it up?"

"But we see how they react and if they want to meet her we set up a different day with you there of course and they get to meet her."

"Only if the first meeting goes well and they don't bring up whoever the Fallon girl is or how I'm not suited for the Huntzburger family."

"Deal?"

"Deal," I sighed, "How's my girl doing?"

"Good, she had dinner with carrots and her vitamins. We read Cinderella and Sleeping beauty and she is now asleep."

"She's really asleep, not pretending to be asleep so she can read more?"

"Really asleep Ace,"

"Well look at you super dad."

"I'm trying,"

"You don't have to you're a good dad. I wouldn't leave her alone with you if I thought otherwise." I argued with him as I walked to my car, security waved at me. I always parked near there to be safe and there was security in the garage where we lived.

"Give me a call when you get home so I know you're safe."

"I will, bye Logan." I closed my phone "I love you." I sighed. Logan and I were taking it slow, we hadn't said I love you, well since that first night he slept over with me and Lena in my bed and I thought I heard him say it. I said it first last time, I wasn't going to do it again. Jeez, I sounded like a petty sixteen year old. It's strange going home and not picking up Lena on the way or meeting my mother and her at home, but hopefully it wouldn't be much longer until Logan can move in with us.

We were sitting in Logan's porche out front of the Huntzburger mansion which sounded more menacing then impressive to me,

"I don't see why you're looking so worried, this was your idea." I reminded him as he hesitated to leave the car,

"Just because it's my idea doesn't mean I want to see them either. I don't like how they treat you but I want them to know they have a granddaughter."

"They already have one and they like her."

"Ace, please. For Lena, for me?"

"Fine, if they say one bad thing."

"We're gone and they never get a chance of seeing her. No second chances."

"Okay," I sighed,

"Ace," he turned my face gently toward him, "You and Lena are my top priority. I love you Ace." He said softly to me, I couldn't stop the smile from spreading across my face despite where we were. I kissed him so quickly and so passionately it took him a moment to respond, I rested my forehead against his,

"I love you too," I whispered and a smile quickly spread across his face,

"That's the response I was hoping for." He said breathlessly, I remember the last time he first said I love you, it was after the bridesmaid debacle and I responded be closing my door in his face.

"We do have to go in there now though," I said, reminding him of where we were.

"Do we have to?" he whined and flopped over into my lap,

"It was your idea, up, up." I patted his cheeks, and undid my seat belt. He sat up and we got out of the car. The house seemed more ominous this time, I was relieved we didn't have Lena with us, at least for the first meeting I didn't want her hearing from another set of Grandparents that she was a mistake; she was safely with Honour, Josh and Katie. Logan and I compiled a file to give to them, starting out with the paternity test, a copy of her birth certificate, a proof of employment at the New York Times (proving I didn't need their stupid family name), picture of her as a baby and a picture of her now, and a notice from her school stating that if they tried to contact or pick her up without written consent from me Logan and I would immediately be contacted and they would be kept there until we arrived, my daughters safety was my first concern. That and I didn't want Shira getting her hooks into her.

The door was answered by a petite blonde who look utterly terrified,

"We're in the right place," I muttered,

"Can I help you?" the maid snapped at me,

"I'm Logan Huntzburger, my parents are expecting us."

"Of course! I'm so sorry Mr. Huntzburger; I was not informed you were bringing a date. Please," she stepped back and opened the door widely,

"Not informed?" I asked Logan,

"I told my father I was bringing a date. Just not the name of said date." He smiled impishly at me, I rolled my eyes and handed the maid my coat,

"What's your name?" I asked the maid, she looked at me wide eyed and nervous, probably for giving me attitude and then realizing I was on the arm of the bosses kid,

"Monica," she whispered,

"Monica, thank you Monica." I smiled as I gave her my coat, she looked very confused,

"Its stuff like that that makes people forget you went to Yale and Prep school."

"Because I'm nice?" I asked,

"Exactly because you're nice," he smiled and kissed my cheek, "Let's go."

"Logan-Rory." Shira had a tight smile spread across her face, "Logan you didn't tell us Rory was coming."

"I told Dad I was bringing date; I thought it'd be a fun surprise." He smirked,

"Right. Hello Rory, how are you darling?"

"I'm great Shira," I smiled right back at her,

"So, you two are…getting serious. Again?" Shira commented as we entered the den, Logan's grandfather sat there with a drink in his hand,

"Didn't we just get rid of this one?" he snapped,

"Grandfather. Don't talk to Rory that way,"

"Lovely to see you again," I snapped at him,

"Would you like a drink Rory?"

"I'm driving, a coke please."

"Bless you," he kissed my cheek,

"Where is Mitchum?" I asked, as I crossed my legs sitting with the file in my lap,

"He should be here any minute. He's finishing a call in his study." Shira replied, she took a drink from her mystery glass that was probably straight vodka, "What do you have there Rory?"

"Something for later." I smiled as Logan handed me my drink,

"Scotch," Logan whispered as he took a drink, I hesitated "I'm kidding, its root beer."

"Logan," his grandfather called his attention, "What are you doing back with this college girl?"

"I'm 25!" I snapped,

"Being single for so long I assumed you knew the kind of girl we were looking for in this family,"

"I do, I just don't care." He commented and his grandfather looked shocked,

"Logan…Rory. What a surprise." Mitchum commented,

"Nice to see you again," I put my hand out and he shook it,

"You didn't mention a date to the maid dear." Shira said to Mitchum,

"I assumed Logan was kidding, the eternal bachelor." Mitchum laughed, "Maid,"

"Monica." I blurted out,

"I'm sorry?" Mitchum asked,

"The maid," I glanced at Logan who was smirking, "Her name is Monica."

"Thank you Rory, Monica get in here." She hurried into the room, "Please set a place for Ms. Gilmore at the dining table."

"Of course sir." She hurried away casting me a quick smile,

"So, what are we all doing here?" Mitchum said as he sat down,

"I was wondering the same thing." Elias said,

"Well Rory and I have something to tell you." Logan said, resting his hand on my leg,

"She's pregnant!" Shira gasped,

"Not anymore." I laughed, and silence fell through the room,

"Excuse me?" Shira demanded, for the first time the fake smile fell from her face,

"We have a daughter," Logan explained, "She's 3 year old and her name is Lena Lorelai Honor Gilmore-Huntzburger."

"Clearly the child isn't yours, she's cheated on you and now convinced you it's yours."

"Here is the paternity test from two different clinics proving 99% paternity." I handed them those papers from the files, ensuring I had copies and the originals in my home,

"Why is she coming out of the woodwork like this, what do you want? Money?" Elias demanded,

"I did an interview on Logan about 3 months back, and she was dropped off at my office. Logan met her, put 2 and 2 together much faster then all of you, and wanted a relationship with her." I explained,

"This must all be about money."

"Not everyone is driven by money Shira," I snapped, "This is proof that I don't need or care about your money I have a full time journalist job at the times, Lena attends a private elementary school, the same one as Katie in fact, this is proof of income. I handed over the sheets to Mitchum,

"I'm impressed Gilmore."

"Where is this child you claim is related to us?"

"Look at the paternity test if you need a reminder she is your blood. She is with Honour and Josh right now."

"Honor knows about this child?"

"Yes, and she adores her. She didn't need these papers as proof,"

"Are there any pictures of her?" Mitchum asked, shocking me,

"Here is a baby picture," I handed it to Mitchum, and Shira strained her neck a bit to look at the picture, "And here is her school picture from this year."

"She does look at lot like Rory." Mitchum concluded,

"That doesn't make this child Logan's blood. We want our own paternity test done, by our own doctors."

"Do whatever you want, it doesn't change facts."

"No," Logan spoke up for the first time since this discussion started, "I had the paternity test done myself. Lena is my daughter, and I love her more the anything in the world. If you don't want to believe that then fine. Cut me off, cut me out of your life."

"You are the heir to this family fortune, you are expected to act a certain way and to live a certain way. It was bad enough you had to go to that center."

"Rehab Grandpa not some spa."

"Either way, I thought you had pulled yourself together. Gallivanting with this girl and taking care of her bastard child-," a loud smack rose from the table. Logan was standing with his hands on the table, nostrils flaring eyes bright,

"Don't you ever refer to Lena like that again. Ever." He said his voice low and dangerous,

"Logan, calm down." Shira sighed,

"We're leaving, get your things Ace." He said to me softly, his eyes still bright and his jaw still clenched. I took back all my documents and pried the picture from Mitchum's hands. I followed Logan out, but took a look back at Mitchum. Shira and Elias looked disgusted, Mitchum looked…sad?

"Ace," Logan held up my jacket and I slipped it on quickly before leaving. We reached the car and Logan's jaw was clenched and he had a tight grip on the wheel,

"Logan,"

"How dare he talk about Lena that way,"

"That's why I didn't want her here."

"You were right, you were right. They don't even care."

"I think your dad might," I held up the picture with creases in it, "It still has his clench marks on it. He wants to know her."

"Just fury directed at me,"

"He might surprise you?" I suggested,

"He never does." He sighed and slammed the car into drive.
