"Yeah. We are." Tohru says. Maya hugs Tohru and then hugs Kyo. Tohru expected Kyo to turn into a cat...but
Maya pulls away from a non-cat Kyo. Kyo looks down at himself in surprise. He hadn't turned into a cat. Tohru blinks and just stares as she realizes what just happened. Tohru opens her door and begins to walk out.
"Tohru, where are you going?" Maya questions, giving the girl a confused look. Tohru turns and gives Maya a soft smile.
"I'm going to go test something. I'll be right back." Tohru answers, walking out and closing her door behind her. She takes in a deep breathe, trying to catch the scent of a nearby Sohma.
Tohru's POV
'Momiji is in the kitchen with Ren. I wonder why?' I think walking downstairs. As soon as I walk into the kitchen, I'm met with yet another mess. There's flour all over the floor and frosting on the wall. 'I understand now.'
Momiji and Ren are staring intently at the oven. Momiji turns a little and he sees my reflection in the glass of the oven. As soon as Momiji sees me, he runs towards me.
"Tohru!" Momiji exclaims, running and jumping on me. Because of the sudden weight, we both fall to the floor. Ren looks at the two of us in confusion. Momiji sits up and looks at me. He looks down at himself and realizes he didn't turn into a rabbit. He looks at me in surprise.
"I didn't turn into a rabbit. Do you know why, Tohru?" Momiji questions, frowning in confusion.
"Tohru did you and Kyo...perhaps?" Ren chimes in, smirking. I blush and stand up with Momiji. I look down at him then look at Ren.
"You can't tell anyone. Got it?" I say, pointing an accusing finger at the two of them.
"You can trust me with this secret." Momiji says. Momiji smiles at me and I smile back. I look at Ren for his confirmation.
"You're my little sister and all I want to do is help you. So yeah, I understand." Ren states with a smile. I smile at my brother and then at Momiji. I then run upstairs to my room. I open my door and close it behind me. I turn to Maya and Kyo and nervously laugh.
3rd POV
"What's wrong Tohru?" Maya asks.
"We might have broken the curse is all that's wrong." Tohru replies, leaning on the door. Kyo and Maya look at Tohru, shocked expressions on both of their faces.
"What? How?" The two question with an undertone of excitement.
"Perhaps Kyo finding love broke it, I don't know. I went to test it by having Momiji hug me." Tohru answers, shrugging.
"You let Momiji hug you? Was there anyone around?" Kyo asks, a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"Only Ren. He didn't turn into a rabbit. So I think that the curse might be broken."
Kyo looks down at his wrist where his bracelet is. Kyo then looks back up at the two girls in the room.
"There's one more way to know if it's truly broken." Kyo mumbles.
He hesitantly takes a hold of his bracelet and begins to slip it off his wrist. Once he has it in his opposite hand, he finds he stays the same. He looks up and sees a smiling Tohru and Maya. Kyo finds himself beginning to smile as well.
"The curse really is broken." Kyo confirms, smiling brightly.
"But we can't tell anyone. Not yet at least. Okay?" Tohru states. Kyo and Maya nod their heads.
"Alright. Let's go downstairs." Tohru says cheerily. Tohru smiles and opens her door, only to bump into a chest.
"The curse is what?"
