"How did you get this number?"
"Gah! Just get over here!"
"I –"
"If you don't get over here right now I'm going to rip your fucking head off and give it to Sabretooth as a chew toy!"
"Right. I'm on my way."
Abby screamed as she hung up the phone. She had never felt so much pain before in her life!
It felt like a year before Magneto and Loki were in the room, in full villainous attire.
"Where have you been?!" Abby screamed.
"There was traffic."
"Why did you bring Loki with you?"
"He said he was friends with you. We were all at a meeting."
"Well, isn't that sweet. GET THIS THING OUT OF ME BEFORE I EXPLODE!"
"I don't know why you called me, though!" Magneto said. "I've never delivered a baby!"
"Me either," Loki said. "What do we do?"
"ANYTHING!" Abby screamed. "CALL someone!"
Loki and Magneto looked at each other.
"Otto Octavius?"
"Kurt Conners?"
"Mandarin?"
"Sinister?"
"Victor von Doom?"
"STOP SUGGESTING VILLAINS!" Abby screamed.
Loki looked at Magneto. "So, Victor, then?"
"I'll make the call," Magneto nodded.
Abby screamed again – her contractions were getting worse.
"Victor is on his way," Loki promised her. "He's delivered a baby before."
"Susan and Reed Richards," Magneto confirmed.
"I don't care if he delivered Kate and William's baby! I WANT THIS THING OUT NOW!"
She heard Doom's plane land, and the heavy clang of his boots as he came up the hallway and opened the door.
"Victor," Magneto greeted.
"There is a hospital down the street, you know," Victor von Doom said.
"She's not going anywhere. She's too far," Loki said. His hand was turning purple because Abby was squeezing it so hard. His fingers were broken, but he dealt with it – he knew better than to remove his hand. He didn't want to face the consequences.
"Alright, then," Victor said. "Eric, if you wouldn't mind fetching some towels?"
As they prepared, Abby was fading in and out of consciousness as she was laid on the bed. She could hear Victor talking to her.
"I see the head. You're going to have to push, Mrs. Wilson."
Her fingernails dug into Loki's arm. "Get it out!" She moaned.
"Almost there," Victor said calmly. "One last push."
Abby groaned in pain, but did as she was told. Suddenly, a piercing cry filled the room.
"It's a girl," Doom said, holding the small baby.
Abby sobbed tears of joy. The cord was cut, and Doom lowered the baby into Abby's arm.
"Oh," Abby whispered. "Oh, she's beautiful." She looked up at Victor. "Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you so much."
He was already packing up his medical gear. "She's healthy," was all he said.
"Victor," Abby said. "Sue told me, that you named Franklin . . . We have names picked out. Fleur, Ava, and Felicia. I want you to choose."
Doom paused. "Ava . . . was my grandmother's name. It is a good name. Strong."
Abby kissed her baby's head. "Ava Angela. Oh my God, she's so beautiful."
Suddenly, footsteps thundered down the hall way.
"Why is Doctor Doom's plane on my roof?!" Tony yelled.
"I smell Magneto," Wolverine growled.
"I sense my brother!" Thor thundered.
"Why didn't you tell me Thor was here?" Loki complained.
"He just kinda comes and goes," Abby shrugged weakly.
The Avengers all ran into the bedroom, weapons drawn. They all stopped dead when they saw the scene in the bedroom.
Wade dropped his guns, and dropped to his knees beside the bed. "Holy shit," he whispered. He pulled his mask off, touching the baby's head gently, as though he was afraid he would hurt her.
"Loki!" Thor exclaimed, frowning. "What has happened to your hand?"
