This felt wrong. Ana felt so out of place and as if she was drowning. Here she was in Luke's apartment with Taylor and she just wanted to run away. She'd never been here. In their entire relationship she hadn't set foot in his apartment. Not that he was hiding it from her, the opportunity just hadn't arisen. Now standing here she felt like an intruder.

"I don't know where to start." Taylor said standing beside her, they were here to sort the place out and make it ready for Ana if she wanted it or for Christian to rent out. Either way, it needed sorting out.

"You knew him better than I did." Ana said her eyes looking at the picture of herself and Luke he'd had printed and framed on the mantle.

"We were mates." Taylor shrugged. "He wanted to marry you."

"We'd not been together long." Ana sighed. "I guess…we were both caught up in that moment. I think we'd have had a long engagement." Ana thumbed at her ring again.

"Why don't we go through his things, take away everything important or special or that you want to keep and then we'll just get someone in to deal with this?" Taylor asked knowing that Ana didn't want to have to deal with it and he most certainly didn't.

"Ok." Ana nodded, she didn't know what to do with any of the stuff there and so she appreciated Taylor taking control.

The first thing Ana grabbed was the photo. She hadn't had any of hers printed yet though she planned on doing so but having this one would mean the world to her, especially knowing he'd had it printed and kept it in the apartment.

Taylor located all the copies of the important documents. He would have Christian help her with the will after the funeral so he didn't want her coming across them now. Ana then took a fridge magnet that she had bought Luke on one of their dates. It was just a 99 cent piece of junk but it was something of theirs.

She then took down from the wall Luke's FBI service plaque, she didn't know what half of it meant but she knew it was an important memento of his from when he'd served as an Agent. It was crazy to her that he'd done that dangerous job and then was killed guarding a billionaire. It just didn't seem right somehow.

It was hard for them both to be standing in his place trying to decide what of his stuff was to be kept and what was to be thrown. Ana knew whatever she didn't take today would soon be gone. She found his photo album and saw pictures of his parents and decided that she would keep hold of that, she didn't know if there would be any distant relatives at his funeral that might like the keepsake but if not, she didn't feel it right to discard his treasured photos.

In the bedroom Ana opened the closet and was overwhelmed with the smell of Luke washing over her. She quickly shut it, her mind drifting straight to that night they shared where she felt him all over her, him filling every sense and she didn't need that right now. On the floor she fell into the small pile of dirty clothes. It was the tux he'd worn to the opera. She picked up the white shirt and held it to her nose. This, she'd peeled off him, opened every button knowing her life was going to change forever. She decided to keep the shirt…just for now.

"I can't do anymore…"Ana said when Taylor walked in.

"Is there anything else you want?" Taylor asked hoping that she'd know about any specific item that meant something to her or Luke.

"Just him." She sobbed before lifting the shirt to her face. Taylor quickly rushed over and fell to his knees beside her. He couldn't imagine the pain and anguish the grieving girl was feeling. It was hard enough for him and he hadn't shared his first relationship and given his virginity to Luke like Ana had!

"I know this is hard." Taylor said holding Ana to his chest. "I know." He repeated just hoping she was listening. "But you will move on. You will get better and be happy."

"But that's just it I don't want to be, not without Luke!" She exclaimed.

"He wanted you to be though Ana." Taylor said, letting go of her so he could make her look at him. "Think about what he told Christian? That he wanted you to be happy and to love again. I know it's too soon, but you will, someday."

"I don't know if I'll be able to." Ana whispered through her tears. "I mean how?"

"You just will be, it will creep up on you, it will surprise you but one day Ana you will laugh again and smile and fall in love. Luke will always have a special place in here…" He pressed a finger to her chest. "Always. But you have the biggest heart Ana and you will have room in there for someone else."

Ana broke again, Taylor said the most wonderful things to her and she had to believe him that one day she could love again. However, in the bit of her stomach there was guilt, because she wondered if someone else was already moving into that space.

"I need to think about going home." Ana said as she regained her composure. Being here surrounded by Luke was giving her some clarity and she knew what she needed to do.

"Why don't you wait till after the funeral?" Taylor suggested, he didn't want her to rush into something that she wasn't ready.

"Why? What's the point?" Ana asked exasperated, she'd have thought Taylor was more than ready to send her home so she wasn't at the apartment keeping Gail on her feet.

"Because I don't think you're ready to go home yet but I also think there will be other people who aren't ready to see you go." Taylor explained honestly.

"You?" Ana asked, wondering if that was his problem, that he wasn't yet ready to let Ana go home.

"Me, Gail… Christian more than anyone." Taylor admitted.

Truth was, he had seen the change. He'd seen it more than anyone. Seeing Christian Grey, his boss, care for Ana the way he was. If he didn't know better he'd have said his boss had been abducted by aliens and replaced with a doppelganger. For the first time in since he'd worked for the enigma, he realised Christian Grey was human. He was a man capable of human emotions. He didn't know if it was the attack on Ana, the guilt he felt because Luke had been protecting him or something else. All he did know was that if Ana left things would possibly go back to the way they had been.

The craziest thing for Taylor had been seeing the playroom being demolished. That had been Christian's play space with his little brunettes. Suddenly, it was gone and it was because of Ana. Again Taylor wondered if Ana left he would just get it built once again but what he knew for certain was while Ana reminded him of the way sex went bad when used for power, he had no interest in the playroom.

"Christian probably just wants his life back. I've been keeping him away from his business and everything." Ana said quietly, pulling Taylor out of his thoughts.

"I know Christian." Taylor replied. "If he wanted to be at work he'd be there." That was a statement of fact. Nothing or no one kept Grey from his office if that's where he wanted to be.

"I just feel like I've taken over everyone's lives." Ana explained. "I only know all of you because of Luke. I mean, Christian… he was Luke's boss. Why did I attach myself to him? Why is he taking such an interest in taking care of me?"

"I don't know Ana. Listen, this Christian Grey you're seeing is not the man I know." Taylor explained making Ana frown. "Jesus Ana, you really don't know do you?"

"Know what?"

"Well, Christian doesn't let anyone touch him." Taylor explained and he knew Ana would be surprised without seeing it on her face but she looked absolutely gobsmacked.

"He lets me touch him." Ana replied and Taylor nodded.

"I don't know what it is or why, but Christian Grey has changed since he met you and even more so since this… Ana, if Christian wanted you to leave, wanted you gone you'd already be back in that apartment with Kate." It was starting to dawn on Taylor. His boss loved Ana. He wouldn't tell her, not yet, because he didn't want Ana to fall victim to his proclivities. However, he had seen the huge changes in him. Not just in the way he would allow Ana to touch him either. He was softer than Taylor had ever seen him, he was kinder with everyone including him and Gail. The only explanation in Taylor's mind was that Grey had fallen in love with Ana. Whether Ana would ever love Grey though was a question he couldn't begin to answer.
