Chapter 25

"Prince Hans," Anna blinked several times in disbelief. "Where...?"

Even Jack had a bewildered expression. The last time he saw Hans, Dark Elsa's minions and turned him into a bloody pulp and dragged his mangled body across the frozen courtyard. So, how could Hans just waltz in as if nothing had happened? Then again, Jack slowly began raising his staff and eyed him warily.

"Prince who," Bunnymund raised an eyebrow.

Kristoff whispered to the Easter guardian. "That was Anna's ex fiancée."

"Prince whatever his name is? Mate," Bunnymund shook his head in aghast. "You can't be serious."

"Unfortunately, I am. She told me when we went looking for her sister."

Bunnymund could do nothing but face-palm. He glanced at Hans who smiled at them while sauntering in. He scowled at Hans; there was something he didn't like about this guy. His white pristine suit, the red violet cravat and even, his perfectly white teeth! There's something wrong with this guy, Bunnymund growled inwardly. He couldn't shake off the chill running down his spine.

"Oh Anna, I got so worried about you," Hans cried out and ran towards her. "Your sister...!"

"I dare you to finish that sentence," Anna stepped up and held Kristoff back, keeping her hand in front of him after seeing him draw out his pickaxe.

Elsa stood back as Jack stepped in front of her. She warily watched Hans movement as her hands started glowing with frost. Jack glanced at Elsa before dropping his hand on hers. She looked up and saw him smile at her, causing her to relax a bit. At least Jack was here now. If anything went wrong, he was the only one well-equipped to beat back whatever was terrorizing Arendelle. Him and a huge gray rabbit?

"Um, Jack," Elsa asked and scanned Bunnymund head to toe. "Is he...?"

Jack raised an eyebrow when he followed Elsa's trail of sight only to see her looking at Bunnymund. He chuckled softly; a lot of people found it weird that the Easter bunny was not the adorable white bunny with a basket of eggs that everyone imagined.

"Don't worry he's with us," Jack smiled and patted her shoulder. "He's the Guardian of Spring."

Elsa gasped. "Spring? He can stop the winter?"

"He can help stop it but it has to be us doing most of the work," Jack explained before patting her shoulder. "You can do it. I know you can."

Elsa nodded while looking back at Anna who glared at Hans.

"I was just about to say that you and your sister's in danger," Hans cried out.

Anna raised an eyebrow, startled. "Huh? By what?"

"Or rather by whom," Bunnymund growled and folded his arms. "Make it snappy, Princey. We don't got all day."

Suddenly, Hans' expression became dark and his eyes changed into an amber yellow colour. "By me!"

Out of nowhere, Hans roared and unleashed a tornado of black sand. Before it could hit them, gold sand crashed through the glass and formed a golden cocoon around them. Hans gasped as the Guardian of Sleep suddenly materialized before him with a sleigh crashing through the roof. Anna yelped and Olaf jumped into her arms.

"Ho ho ho," a big beefy man came in with two scimitars, tossing them around. "Merry Christmas!"

A rainbow coloured lady descended from the roof with other fairies following after her. "Heeey, are we late?"

Jack exclaimed. "North! Tooth! Sandy! You're all here!"

The Sandman bowed and tipped his golden top hat. Sorry we were late. We had to evacuate the people before Arendelle got buried by snow.

Bunnymund grinned and pat the Sandman on the head. "It's good to see ya, mate."

Sandman beamed with a huge grin. Suddenly, more black sand spears shot past them as they managed to narrowly dodge it. Bunnymund and Sandy looked up when Hans was suddenly summoning more black sand tentacles.

"Alright, charge," North let out a battle cry.

Jack turned to Elsa, holding her hands. "Stay here. I'll take care of it."

"What? No," Elsa stared at him aghast and grabbed his wrist. "I'm fighting with you. I have the powers to fight him. Besides, what were all those days of us training for? To make me sit in a corner and look pretty? You wished!"

Jack chuckled and couldn't hide the admiration he had for Elsa. "Alright, it's just like we practiced. I engage, you take him out while I keep him busy."

Anna ran towards them with a grin, draping her arms on both of their shoulders. "What about me?"

Jack and Elsa commanded both in unison. "You stay put!"

Anna's lips quivered; she clearly was shocked by the outburst. "But..!"

"No," Elsa massaged her temples while pushing her sister back to put her in a corner. "Stay put. You can't fight him."

Anna pouted with a fold of her arms. "Yeah, tell that to the person who figured out how to keep him out of his hiding place."

Elsa rolled her eyes. "Anna, there is no such thing as the Ha-Ha man."

"No, the sunlight!"

"Anna, there's no," Jack suddenly paused midway and asked. "Wait, sunlight?"

"Yeah, it's common sense. When it's dark, you turn on the light," Anna folded her arms with a triumphant smirk. "Duh."

Elsa and Jack exchanged glances before the guardian of fun beamed. "Anna, that's genius!"

Elsa gawked at Jack. "Jack, we can't call out the sun!"

"We can't," Jack admitted before grinning with a twinkle in his eye. "But we can clear out the clouds blocking the sun."

It was then it hit Elsa what Jack wanted to do. She hesitantly looked out the window where everything had been frozen. Even the fjords had turned into solid ice! The clouds covered the sun as she saw dark gray puffs floating around with lightning crackling. Shards of ice rained from the sky when she looked at the entire citadel freezing into ice.

"I... I can't stop it," Elsa shook her head. "I've never did anything that big a scale!"

"You can't do it. But we can," Jack smiled and opened his arms. "Together."

Elsa bit her lower lip anxiously as Anna nudged her forward. "Go, you can do it. I'm with you until the end, Elsa."

Hearing those words from Anna's lips gave Elsa the confidence she really needed. She ran over to Anna and gave her a tight embrace. Anna nearly stumbled back in surprise before purring with delight. She had waited all her life for this. Too bad it had to happen when Arendelle was being destroyed.

"I promise," Elsa smiled. "When I come back, we can make a lot of snowmen together again. Just like before."

Anna grinned. "I'll hold you to that, Elsa."

The pale blonde queen nodded and ran to Jack, holding him tight. "Time to bust a few clouds."

Jack nodded as they set out for the clouds. While the other guardians fought Hans, Kristoff stayed near Anna with his pickaxe out to take out any sand tentacles that got near her. Olaf yelped and jumped away, tangling a few together. Bunnymund jumped in the air before throwing his boomerangs to knock out the tentacles while Sandy had tied them up like a rodeo star.

"Way to handle those rabid rhodendrons, Sandy," Bunnymund grinned and kicked down another tentacle. "Now let's bring the fight to Prince Whacko!"

Sandy nodded before zooming towards Hans with golden sand whips grabbing stray nightmare tentacles. Bunnymund jumped over one before sliding right beneath another. A stray vine tried to grab him until something spun in the air and shattered it in whirling speed. Bunnymund looked up and saw Tooth zooming to and fro in the air.

"Nice flyin', Tooth," Bunnymund grinned as he threw a boomerang to a vine sneaking up on North. "Watch your back, old man."

North guffawed and cut down more with his scimitars. "Haha as should you, fluffy tail!"

Hans growled and threw more sand spears at them. "Enough of this!"

He suddenly unleashed a huge torrent of black sand towards the guardians, knocking them back. Kristoff pushed Anna towards the corner and shielded her as the black sand blasted his back. Anna winced at the loud rushing sand until she felt something warm in her chest. She placed her hand on her chest before seeing the memories flash before her.

I'm not leaving without my sister!

Elsa, we can do this together! We can bring back spring!

Some people are just worth melting for.

Elsa means everything to me. You're like my little sister but Elsa is my queen...

As everything flashed before her, Anna couldn't believe how naive she had been. The answer was inside her; all the emotions and all the people she met - they all had one driving force. However, there was one memory that flashed before her.

"We have to get Anna to Hans," she heard Kristoff say. "C'mon Sven!"

She looked at Kristoff who was shielding her from the black sand before staring it down. She was done running and hiding. As much as finding her true love made her heart sing, there was something else that made her want to keep going. She stretched arm past Kristoff and touched the black sand and instead of blasting her away, the sand turned white. She gasped in amazement as Kristoff looked on with awe.

"Anna, what did you," Kristoff felt the white sand run through his fingers.

"I... I don't know," Anna gasped in amazement.

On the other hand, Jack and Elsa were already up in the air. Elsa looked at the dark greying skies as lightning crackled. She shuddered and winced at the explosive noise while holding onto Jack, now seeing that they were both way off the ground. Jack, sensing her fear, wrapped his arms around her waist tighter as she looked at him in surprise. He smiled and nodded.

"We'll be okay. We're doing this together," Jack reassured.

"I suppose," Elsa looked down and yelped when she realized how far high she was. "I never thought flying this high would be terrifying."

"I won't let you fall, Elsa," Jack promised. "Nobody can bring us down..."

"Just you and I, defying gravity," Elsa mumbled before smiling at him, only to see the eye of the storm. "There!"

Jack looked up and nodded. "Ready?"

Elsa nodded as Jack swirled around enough ice to make a disc for them to stand on. She looked at Arendelle and all the people who could have possibly died. She hung her head shamefully as Jack gently cupped her face and brought her closer to kiss her forehead.

"We all make mistakes, Elsa," Jack held her hands. "But it's up to us if we want to fix that mistake or not."

Elsa stayed silent for a moment, looking on guiltily at the frozen city. She had promised her father over his grave and portrait hat she would do everything in her power to protect the city. But instead, she had doomed it to a freezing blizzard. However, she firmed her grip on Jack's hands. If there was one time she had to fix that mistake, now would be the time!

"Let's stop this storm, Jack," she said with a determination that made Jack beam.

The guardian of fun nodded as the energy swirled around them, pulling the ice away from the frozen city.
