Chapter 24: Accusations, threats and regrets.

Rose took me out of the hallway to my room. The snickers and side looks followed as we went down. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god," I chanted, hyperventilating, the reality pushing me into shock, "It was a bet, a bet…"

"Bella – you got to get it together girl," Rose said, "Your parents are coming and you have to give a presentation tonight. Grab your shampoo and take a shower. I'm going to call Lucy."

I nodded and grabbed some clean clothes and went to the shower. Fortunately no one was in there. Rose was standing outside to make sure no one was bothering me. Squeeze, wash, rinse, the order kept me sane until I got out of the shower. I wrapped my hair in a towel and threw on my clothes really quickly.

Rose and Lucy came in once they heard the water turn off. They gasped – horrified I turned around and looked at myself. I had been so upset that I hadn't notice that my skin was blue, matching my body wash. Panicking I pulled the towel from my head. I had orange hair. I looked like Sassette from the Smurfs. Sinking down to the toilet, I put my head in my hands wondering when they had time to do all of this.

"I can't believe this – how am I going to do the show tonight," I asked, crying, "I looked like a goddamn smurf."

Lucy grabbed some nail polish remover from her bag, "Here – try this."

I splash some on and thankfully it was enough to get most of it off but my skin had a bluish tint to it. It would have to do but my hair – it looked awful and the more it dried the worse it got. It looked stripped for lack of a better word.

"Here, I'm going to put it in a bun, you can hide it under your beanie," Rose said, "While your parents settle in we'll get you down to a salon and get your hair fixed."

"I can't afford that Rose," I reminded of her of my bleak financial status.

"Don't be ridiculous – unless you want to go with the whole punk vibe," Rose retorted sternly.

Lucy nodded at me. "Don't be stubborn. We'll chip in and you can pay us back. Your parents are going to be here in 10 minutes. I have my mum's car here – I'll drop you off."

Grabbing the acetone, I scrubbed myself the best I could and then dressed quickly. Running outside, I avoid the looks and snickers people were giving me as I put my hair under my cap. The legacy crew held up scorecards rating my hair as I ran by. This time I didn't even cry – I was so angry. Not even with Alec anymore – well that wasn't true but I was still pissed with him but I was livid at Alice and Edward. She was only the one who had access to our room and she probably gave the key to Edward who slipped after I went to speak with Alice. If I got two minutes alone with them, I was going show what an uncouth American could do.

The train was late, but I was still cutting it close as Lucy drove in. The plan was I would going to take Charlie, Renee, Sue and Phil to their hotel and then go to a salon that Rose used. She was going to lend me the money to fix the mess that my hair had become.

"Bella," I heard my mom call, turning around, I saw the four of them coming to me. I introduced Rose to them. Lucy had left to see about getting me an appointment at her mom's salon as a back-up in case Rose's hair dresser couldn't fit me in. After the standard greetings and hugs, my mom stood back and frowned. She and my dad exchanged a look.

"Bella – are you okay," Renee asked.

I realized at that moment that my mom was a hell of a lot more perceptive then I gave her credit for.

"I just broke up with Edward that's all," I said, figuring I might as well get it over with after all the fucker just turned me into a prepubescent smurf. I'm sure that qualified as break-up.

"Oh –did I miss a letter," she asked, frowning. I had to give the devil her due, Renee had been keeping up with me since Christmas.

"No it just happened yesterday. We just figured it was better to split now before we left for college," I replied, hoping they would drop it.

"Okay," Charlie drawled, frowning, "you ok?"

"Yeah – just a little shell shocked, nothing I can't deal with," I told him, crossing my fingers.

"Let's see your school," Renee said, "I've never had the pleasure."

Shit, I thought, I needed these people in the hotel so I could get my goddamn hair fixed. "Sure," I said, shooting Rose a look, hoping this would go by fast so I wouldn't look like little orphan Annie when I gave my presentation.

"Bella are you okay – you look blue," Sue asked, looking me at sideways.

"It's just the light," I told her, hoping she wouldn't look any closer.

"You smell like turpentine," Charlie told me, giving me a look that I knew would not get me out of this mess without some sort of explanation.

"Occupational hazard," I muttered.

Rose however launched into a tour about the area and soon thankfully the focus was on her. Renee in true fashion ate it up. Charlie looked interested but both of them were still sending me glances.

We got into the campus, and went to show them my room, hoping that Alice was somewhere making up with Alec. I seemed to be in luck for once as there was no sighting of the legacy crew. "And this is mu room," I said, unlocking the room, walking in and then I gasped.

My side of the room had been completely trashed. Paint had been splattered everywhere. Slut, tramp, skant, ho, and the ever-popular British term for slut: slang, was written on the top of my bed in red paint. My clothes were ruined. My contacts had been punctured. The supply box my dad had given for Christmas was gouged, my camera from my birthday had been smashed, and my CDs were scratched. My disc man was smattered beyond recognition. The bedspread had been shredded. Then a thought occurred to me.

"My computer," I screeched, going to my desk. Sure enough that had been ruined too.

"Oh my God Bella," Sue said coming over, then frowning she pulled my beanie and my lovely, straw like, orange hair tumbled out from under.

Charlie's eyes bulged and Phil had to steady Renee who gasped. "You're hair – what happened," Renee cried.

"Uh-" I said, not knowing what say.

Rose taking pity on me gave a quick abridged version of what happened. Needless to say it was good thing Charlie didn't take his service arm on the flight. While I had the pleasure of watching my father turn beat red, I heard Alice's voice from the doorway. "Bella – darling – you should really be more careful with you things," she said. Both she and Tanya were standing there. They got one good look at me started laughing like the hyenas.

Narrowing my eyes, I made a move to strike her, when the thought occurred to me. "My exhibit," I yelled, not even waiting for anyone. I darted past my family and push through Tanya and Alice. I didn't even have the pleasure of listen to them hit the floor. Running through the hallway, I stopped and took a deep breath. My paintings were fine and Peter was standing there looking at me in horror. I guess my orange hair and blue tinted skin would freak anyone out.

"What the hell happened to you," he exclaimed.

"Some asshole thought it would be funny to prank me before my art show. No offense what are you doing here," I asked, confused.

"Lucy asked me to watch your paintings for you. She thought something might happen to them," he explained, "What the hell is going here?"

"Pete – I'll explain in a minute," Lucy said coming up. I was thankful that she had the foresight to think about the exhibit.

"Bella you look absolutely stunning," Edward said, smirking at me. Tanya was still draped over him like a fucking blanket. Didn't she has the ability to anything with being some dude's parasite? The rest of the legacies were with them.

"Fuck you," I told him, "How could you? You know seriously what have I ever done to you, any of you?"

"You were born," Tanya snipped. The rest of them laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. Peter balled his hands up, ready to pounce. I shook my head, seeing my dad coming up with Rose.

"Bella," he said, coming over to me, "are your paintings okay?"

I nodded, then Charlie turned over and looked at Edward and his friends. "Is something the matter here or is there a reason why you all are standing around looking like trout?"

Despite myself, I snorted. It was his cop voice, it freaked bigger men and a couple of the legacies had the God-given sense to step back. Not Edward however and for the first time I noticed that his eyes were glassy indicating that he was high. Instinctively I went into my dad a little, wondering if this was about to become violent.

"Nothing Charlie – I just thought you should know what a slut your daughter is," Edward said winking at me.

Charlie turned beet red, pushed me to my mother who had finally caught up, and took a step closer to Edward who for the first time thought his personal safety might be in danger. He stepped back. "Boy – you're lucky my daughter is here because if she wasn't you would 6 feet under," he roared, "Bella come on."

Grabbing us, he turned around. Phil offered to stay and watch my exhibit with Pete. Rose all the sudden got a look in her eyes. "Renee – here is the card for my stylist, if you can't get Bella in, Lucy's mom's hairdresser can help. Sorry Bella – I have to go, I'll be right back." With a blur of blond hair she was gone.

EPOV

Laughing at Bella's sorry excuse for stepfather, we went back to my room for some more fun. Alec had grabbed anther gram of coke for the occasion – we had been living it up this morning. So far I had a couple of celebratory fucks with Tanya in the loo.

The first being when Bella had showered herself blue and orange – I couldn't believe she was stupid to fall for that again. The second had been after we trashed her room. Watching Alice attack Bella's paint case with a nail file and Emmett destroy her computer had been brilliant, then watching Tanya use her nail file to scratch her CD – classic. The best part had when I painted slut, tramp, ho, skant, slag across her bed. I could only imagine the look on Sheriff Swan's porntastic mustache when he saw it. It had felt great – empty but great.

We destroyed everything. The only we hadn't gotten to was her exhibit. That asshole Peter Weller was there and threaten us if we didn't leave. That normally wouldn't have stopped me, because who were they going to believe, me and my friends who had made more donations then Queen or that a little nobody like Peter. However there were witnesses and teachers nearby. My common sense won out on that one. But that wouldn't stop me from jeering later tonight during her presentation.

The only reason that slut Rose wasn't getting anything was because Emmett put his foot down, convinced she would see the error of her ways soon and join us. I smirked to myself, thinking of the special surprises Alice had in store for Rose.

"Fuck – did you see that fucker's face," Alec said, cutting the coke and handing me a pound note to roll up.

"I know fucking priceless man," I said, taking a line.

"Enough about that slang," Alice purred climbing on his lap and kissing him.

I just shook my head and looked at Tanya wondering if she up for another round. She looked at me and smiled slowly. Hell yeah she was ready. I got up and yanked her to me. I forced myself not imagine Bella's eyes when I looked into Tanya's. Just as we were getting ready to leave, Rose burst into the room.

Looking at the carnage everywhere, she huffed in disgusted and barked, "Sit all of you!"

Walking over to the small TV Alec and I had, she attached the camcorder she was carrying to the TV set. All sudden, I realized Alec was sweating bullets when Bella appeared on the screen, apparently straightening her paintings.

"It's a quite a display Bella," Alec said. Bella turned around, clearly surprised to see him.

"Uh – thanks Alec," she said, clearly confused to see him.

"It's really spectacular. How long did this all take," he asked.

"Uh - six weeks, I have been working on it since break," Bella answered.

"Tell me something Bella," Alec said, looking his nails. He came in a little closer, clearly invading her space. Bella was looked annoyed and irritated.

"Sure – what," she asked.

"What is Edward paying you," he asked, nonchalantly.

"Excuse me," she exclaimed, clearly offended.

"How much is Edward paying you," he said looking at her, "Girls like you always demand a price. I want to know how much for a sample of you?"

"I don't give out 'samples' and Edward and Alice don't share," she replied clearly outraged.

"Isabella – remember there are two kinds of girls in this world. Girls like Alice you take home to meet your family and have kids when you're ready. Then are girls like you who are great for a good fuck," he said, going for the kill and kissing her on the lips. She pushed Alec back, raising her hand as if to slap him.

"You bitch!," we heard Alice's voice say. We appeared in the camera's focus. Bella stood there clearly in shock.

"Alice – darling – she came on to me, I swear," Alec said calmly going to her.

Snapping back to attention, Bella yelled, "You liar – you came on to me!"

"Come off it Yank," Alex said, "I swear Edward!"

"You know what," Emmett said, intervening between everyone, "I think we all better calm down."

At this point both Rosalie and I were restraining Alice. I nodded at Emmett left with Alice.

Rose shot Bella a sympathetic look and an extremely pissed off one to Alec. "Rose, I didn't do anything," she whispered. Rose nodded at Bella.

The door shut and Bella just lunged at Alec punched in right in the eye. "Bitch," he hissed, "you'll pay for that!"

"Fuck you Alec," she shouted back, "The only thing I regret is ever letting my guard down you with you. Alice is going to kill you when she calms down."

He snickered at me, "Bella who do you think they're going believe?" The cruel smile was back again.

"You go to hell," she said, confident, "I know that Edward and Alice will believe me."

AN: For those of you who were not grade schoolers in the 1980's Sassette was Smurfette's little sister. She red pigtails. Google her online if you want an idea what Bella looked like after that stunt they pulled on her. If you're wondering what caused the orange hair, I got the idea from my dad. He comes from a family of five kids, four boys and 1 girl. According to him, when he was 15, one of his brother's put hydrogen peroxide in his shampoo and it turned his hair orange. He has dark, almost black hair. The blue skin – cheap clothe dye. My mom dyed a pair of pants once when I was a kid. My sister and I found out that when we used rubbing alcohol the dye came off a little. Needless to say my mom wasn't thrilled she had spotted pants.
