Ponyboy went to the cave with the burnt ladder. It was dark, but he still looked around the cave in search of an idem. After reaching the end of the cave, and finding nothing, he sighed deeply.
"No…It isn't here, after all. Where did I hide it again? Was it on the third floor maybe?" Ponyboy muttered to himself. "Maybe not…Ugh, I'm really nervous now… But, if I calm down, I'll remember. There was another thing that I hid with Dally. And then…um…"
Ponyboy thought about the past, only to be interrupted by a familiar voice from the entrance to the cave above.
"I found you!" Sherri's voice yelled at him. Pony's head shot up in surprise and saw both Cherry and Bob at the cave's opening looking down from him.
"It was a good thing that the front door wouldn't open or I probably wouldn't have found you this fast. What have you been up to?" She asked.
"Where are the other guys?" Bob, Cherry's boyfriend, asked, iterated.
"What—what are you doing here?! We didn't ask you to come here!" Ponyboy exclaimed in shock. Cherry ignored the question and shouted to him.
"I'm coming down there so don't move." She said.
"N-No! Don't come here, no matter what! Go home! What are you doing here?" Pony asked. When Cherry didn't answer instantly, Ponyboy shook his head and stepped back. "I'm sorry, but I have to go. I'm sorry, just, go home!"
Ponyboy ran off.
"Wait!" She ordered but it was too late. She huffed as she tried to go down the rope ladder. Hands stopped her.
"I'll go down the rope ladder first. Just wait here, okay?" Bob grumbled out.
"Can you really use this ladder? I can't see the bottom really well…"
Bob climbed down the ladder, testing each step. He sighed in relief, seeing that the ladder isn't rotten. It was a good thing that he wasn't drunk too or he would have fallen already.
Right when Bob was about to say that it was safe, his foot stepped on air and he fell. He stifled a squeak and slammed onto the floor below with a groan in pain.
"Bob?! Are you okay?" Cherry asked worriedly.
"God damn it! Why the fuck is the rope burnt?! I'll see if I can find something to replace this fucking ladder. Wait a moment." Bob growled out.
"Alright. Be careful."
Spain walked to the room where the Greasers were trapped because of how the rooms are close together. Right when he entered, his eyes instantly spotted the greasers and he sneered. The greasers did the same. But then his sneer turned into a mischievous smile.
"What is this? A zoo? A zoo for filthy, poor, white, trash of animals? Do not touch or feed the greasers?" Bob laughed at his own joke. But only got looks of bewilderment back.
"I can't believe it… Is he for real?" Steve asked uncertainly. He didn't want him to be real in the same time he does.
"Do you guys know where I can find a ladder?" Bob asked, ignoring the question.
"OPEN THE DOOR!" Darry ordered, getting really annoyed.
"What do you mean? Didn't that horse boy, or whatever, come by here?"
"Please open the door…" Johnny said politely.
o-o-o
Ponyboy quickened his pace to the library. He had to find the metal pieces, fast. But nothing was there. He went to the second floor. Pony looked around on the floor and searched through every room.
"I have to get everyone to escape or…I'll be doomed to a world where I am all alone…Then again, even though I tried to be a little reliable, it looks like they can't trust me." Ponyboy murmured to himself as he looked through his last room. "If I went back, they wouldn't be mad at me…would they? All this time… Really, all this time I… with them… from here…"
The door slammed open and in comes the alien, but three times larger and buffer, behind Ponyboy.
Ponyboy turned around with wide eyes. It crept forward and Pony took steps backwards until his back touched the wall.
"Soda…" He muttered to himself.
