Hey, guys! I know that I haven't updated in a while (the last time being March 16), but I thought I'd update "Stolen Moments." I came up with the idea for it earlier today. Anyway, no spoilers, just keep reading.
I'm so addicted to
All the things you do
When you're going down on me
In between the sheets
Or the sound you make
With every breath you take
It's not like anything
When you're loving me
Mystic Falls Ice Skating Rink...
The rink seemed to be quiet as Caroline walked inside, smiling as she looked around at the décor. She would come here often as a little girl, competing in skating competitions and winning every year, except for when she was sixth grade. That year, she had placed second and she remembered feeling dejected about it. However, her mother told her that it didn't matter, and that she'd always be a winner in her eyes.
Such a memory brought another smile to the blonde vampire's face and as soon as she got to the arena, she took off her shoes and got her skates on. Even though it had been quite a while since the last time she was here, it was unlikely that her ability to skate had left her. After she had gotten her skates on, Caroline headed out onto the ice and began to skate around the empty rink, imaging the roar of the crowd and hearing them chanting her name.
As she continued to skate, Caroline closed her eyes and did a few twirls in the air, landing gracefully on the ice. She was enjoying the sound of the ice underneath her skates, as well as the feeling of the air against her face. It felt familiar and safe for her, a comforting reminder that you never outgrow the things you love.
Little did Caroline realize that she wasn't the only one here today, because Klaus was watching her from his place in the stands. He had followed her here without her knowledge, curious as to why she had chosen this particular place. He watched her as she skated, mesmorized by the grace in her form as she moved.
She's practically dancing on the ice, he thought. My word, she is quite graceful, like a ballerina. She's certainly amazing, my Caroline. Just when I think I have learned everything about her, she goes and amazes me even more.
It was here that Klaus got an idea and, reaching into the bag he brought, he took out a pair of skates and, after changing into them, went out onto the rink and watched in wait for Caroline to come near his location. Then, once she was close enough, he grabbed her waist and together, they glided around on the ice, their two bodies almost as one. As they continued their dance, Klaus kept one hand on her waist and moved his other hand up her arm and took her hand in his, holding her close to him.
After a few minutes, Caroline opened her eyes and realized that she wasn't alone anymore. "Klaus? What are you doing here?"
Her question earned her a smile from him. "I followed you here, love."
"You followed me here?" said Caroline. "But, why?"
"You might say I was curious," said Klaus. "You obviously hold this place in high regard and I wanted to see it for myself."
"If you must know, this place has sentimental value for me," said Caroline. "When I was a little girl, I came here all the time. In fact, I was even in ice skating competitions. I won every year. However, I wasn't so lucky in sixth grade. I placed second, and I didn't take it very well, because I was sure that I had the competition won."
Klaus nodded. He could picture her taking part in the competitions she spoke of and wished that he could've seen it. "Sounds to me like you were quite the skater when you were a girl."
"I was," said Caroline. "I was also very competitive, which was why I didn't take being second place very well." She sighed. "Anyway, my mom told me that it didn't matter to her whether I won or lost, because I would always be a winner to her."
"And was she right?"
"I didn't want to believe her at first, because I thought she was just telling me that to make me feel better," said Caroline. "But, after a while, I calmed down and realized that she was telling the truth."
Klaus smiled and kissed her. "Well, judging from how gracefully you skate around this rink, you certainly deserved to win those competitions. I'm sure that if there was one now, there's no doubt in my mind that you'd win."
"You really think so?"
"Oh, I know so," said Klaus. "You'd take first place."
Caroline smiled at his words. Shit, he always knew exactly what to say to make her happy. She returned his kiss and then leaned back against him as they kept skating around, feeling him lift her up around another turn. I've got to admit, though, this is definitely fun. I should let Klaus follow me to the ice rink more often.
Note: Better late than never, huh? Anyway, stay tuned for more!
