Patricia's POV

Since I'm staying at Edward's house for the remaining four days I'm in New York, I called Eddie to drop my stuff off.

I was just pouring myself some cereal when I heard a knock at the door. I got up to open it, already knowing who it was. I turned the knob, and Eddie walked in with my suitcase and laptop.

"Here's your stuff," he said, his voice stiff and awkward.

"Thank you," I replied, grabbing my suitcase with my right hand and my laptop with my left. At the last second though, my suitcase tipped over, and I reached forward to grab it, causing me to lose my grip on the laptop. It fell with a loud bang on the floor.

"Holy s***!" I cursed, forgetting about my suitcase. I quickly picked up my laptop and walked into the living room, where I sat down on the couch to see if the computer still worked.

Eddie came with.

"Is it okay?" he asked.

"Maybe," I replied. "But what if it's not? How am I going to get a new one? It took three months to earn enough money to buy this!"

"It's going to be fine, Patricia. If it is broken, then I'll buy you a new one—any kind you want," Eddie promised.

"Okay." I smiled at him and opened the computer.
It was cold—not hot—which was a bad sign. I carefully opened the platform then pressed the ON button. I held it for ten seconds, but nothing happened.

"Eddie," I murmured.

"I'll buy you a new one." He put his hand over mine, and came closer to me on the couch.
I pulled away reluctantly. "You don't have to do that... I mean, we're not dating anymore and you're not the one who broke it so..."

"Look, Patricia, I don't care if we never speak again. I want to do you this favor, okay?"

"Alright fine," I replied as Eddie got up and went to the door.

"Bye," he said. Then he left without even waiting for a 'bye' back.

Edward has work every weekday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. It was currently 7:00 at night and I was getting ready to go with Edward to a fancy dinner place where we were going to talk about more ways to make Eddie jealous.

A half hour passed, and I was ready. I decided to fully unpack my suitcase, so I went up stairs to the guest room and started unpacking. When I almost completely finished, there were only three things left in the suitcase.

One was a sweatshirt, Eddie's sweatshirt. It was the one I wore after the Sick Puppies concert when he officially asked me out.
And tucked lightly underneath it was a handwritten note from Eddie. I picked it up and began to read.

Dear Patricia,
I can't believe we broke up so quickly. We've only been together for about a week and 2 days. But it felt longer. You have been my best friend for about 2 years now! I just can't let you go. January 5th is our 3 year anniversary for when I commented on your YouTube video, you sang Odd one. It will also be our anniversary for when I first followed you on Instagram, or when I scribed on almost all your videos! Patricia, if we can't be boyfriend girlfriend, then can we at least be best friends again?
Love, Eddie.
P.S.
I hope you like the necklace.

I sighed shakily as I pulled out a heart shaped locket that had been held in place by the folds of the letter. It was shiny and beautiful. And engraved on the back were the words:
Best friends forever. Love Eddie.

I began to cry as I opened up the locket, remembering January 5th, which was five days away. I would be back in England by then...

Inside the locket, there was a golden lock, like the one you would find on a door. The whole thing was simply perfect, and just looking at it made me cry even harder.

"Knock knock! Are you ready to g—" Edward froze when he saw the tears streaming down my face. "What's wrong?" he asked. "Are you okay?"

I took a deep breath, and nodded.
"Yep, I'm fine. Could you just...put this necklace on me?"

"Sure thing," he said, taking the locket by the chain, and slipping it around my neck, where it then fell into place with a click. Edward was all ready to go, so he escorted me to the car.

I left the house wearing a lock around my neck.

Ok that was the chapter what did you think? If you guys are wondering who won the YouTube singing challenge then don't be because that will be coming up next chapter! Ok guys please review and don't forget to enjoy!
