"True Love – Sherman & Penny"

Special Chapter No. 1: A Streak of Red with Two Yellows

.

One sunny Sunday, in the mall, about one in the afternoon, Sherman strolled with two blond-haired girls. Penny and Patty, with the former's idea, invited him to be the proxy for Paul. The father would not be around due to a sudden business meeting, and they invited the boy so that the reserved movie ticket would not be wasted. The scheme was effective and they had Sherman with them.

.

As of Sherman, he's not amused of how things turned out. Supposedly, he, Penny, and his dad would go to the ancient city of Pompeii for some history lessons. However, Penny declined to the idea and he even fell for her trick. Declining "Pompeii" for the "mall" wasn't a good trade-off, and its only positive setback was that he's with Penny. The blond girl, aware that he's feeling meh, gave him a sly grin.

.

The mother and daughter and daughter's sweetheart just finished watching a movie in the "Throwback Theater". It was about blue birds going to the Amazon in hopes of finding their flock. Sherman did not like it at first, though he eventually did; Penny found it so-so; while Patty liked it to the point that she wanted to have a pet of the likes. For the meantime, Patty went to the nearby booth to buy souvenirs about the movie. Sherman and Penny were a bit far from her.

"Sherman, how do you find the movie?", Penny curiously asked.

"It's good.", he replied in a voice that's not so good.

"Are you okay? You're like... sad."

"We should have went to Pompeii.", he blurted.

"Sorry 'bout that."

"Yeah, you should be. You even tricked me about going with you."

"Sorry 'bout that too... Wait! What's your problem? Don't you want to be with me? Fine!", and she turned her back from him.

"No no no! That's not what I meant."

"Then what?"

"I think... Pompeii's much better than this mall."

"So you mean that my time with my parents isn't quality time?"

Sherman stopped for a while. She might have misunderstood. He acted fast.

"I-I'm sorry. I don't mean that."

"You should be, smart guy."

"How about we explore? Well, since we're supposed to explore in Pompeii, why won't we just explore the mall?"

"Sounds good, especially when it comes from you.", she smiled. Deep sigh, the impending quarrel ceases to be.

.

The couple then went to Patty and sought permission to explore. She's busy talking to a friend. The two got what they expected.

"Mom, can we explore the mall?", Penny asked.

"Sure, dear. Don't go too far.", Patty replied.

"Thanks, Mom!", she squealed.

"Let's just regroup by the food court, okay?"

"Yes!"

Together, the kids walked around the mall.

.

By the time they're in a bookstore, Penny began to spill out her opinion about the movie... only to find herself speaking to air. Sherman was dazzled by a book about time, space, stars, and black holes.

"Sherman, that is very rude.", she scolded him.

"Wow... this is awesome...", he dreamily replied.

"Now what's up?... Hey, that's the hole that almost sucked us up after Florence."

"Yeah..."

"What's with the drooling?"

"I'm not drooling."

"Whatever. I guess you like that book."

"Yeah!", he nodded.

"You're really a smart guy. I knew it.", she replied after shaking her head, "Well, you don't need any history books because of the WABAC. What you need is either a science or math book."

"Uh huh."

"How much was this anyway?"

"I badly want this... Please, Penny."'

"Are you telling me to buy this for you?"

The boy grinned. After sometime, the two found themselves by the food court.

.

Sherman sat on the bench, in wait for Penny. The book was just plain unobtainable, much to his dismay. Penny went to him with a huge ice cream on hand. He sighed.

"Man, that book's insane! Eight hundred dollars? Come on!", Penny retorted.

"Yeah, I know.", he sadly replied.

"That would even drain my savings alone."

"What do you have there?", he diverted, "Can I have some?"

"Can you have some?... You're definitely going to have some. I can't finish this big pile of ice cream alone."

"So, we're gonna be sharing."

"Y-yeah.", she blurted with a thin red line on her cheeks. And they began to eat.

The act was both sweet and awkward at the same time. They knew it. Halfway done, they heard a clicking sound. With dilated eyes, the couple looked sideways and found that they've been documented.

"Mom!", the lovebirds screamed.

"Oops! I'm so sorry 'bout that. I can't help but to take one.", Patty explained, holding the cellphone responsible for taking a fragment of time in a freezer. The kids pouted lightly, and was on a terrible blush. Another click sounded.

.

"I'm sure that going to the photo album, Sherman.", Penny concluded to the eyeglassed boy.

First special chapter done!

Actually, this is a deleted chapter in the early days of this fanfic... and now it's brought to life due to a possible plot point in the sequel. Believe me, this SP is relevant. ;)

Special thanks to MoveYourMovieFiction and TexasBornMind76 for their appreciation in their announcement pages. That's pretty flattering and motivational at the same time! :D
