The bells of the church rang loud and long. The church door slowly closed. Inside, separated by an aisle, were the two warring families. Kurt had not shown up yet. Wes looked around, sensing the hostility in the air.
The door opened and Kurt entered, holding an envelope which he gave to Santana and then walked to sit next to Finn. Blaine's eyebrow rose as he watched. He could see the guilt in Kurt's eyes and ignored it. Wes stood at the pulpit with the priest. He looked at both families.
"I'm sorry I had to bring both families in. I loved your cupcakes," He pointed to the Warblers and then the Cheerios, "And also your cupcakes but I can only go into business with one family. We will meet again in a week. The family that comes up with the best cupcake will enter into a contract with me."
He looked between the two families, "And in that time, I ask that there be no fighting, no sneaking or sabotage."
He looked at the priest. He nodded and spoke, "If there's anyone here who objects, They shall speak now, or forever hold their peace."
Both families looked at each other, glaring. Except Carole, Santana and Kurt who rolled their eyes.
Leaving the church first was the warblers, Cooper in front. "We're going to kill this thing, everyone."
Cheers erupted from the Warblers. They all left to head back.
The Cheerios were behind them, Burt muttering, "I don't know how we're going to do this."
"Let me try, Burt. Maybe I can come up with something." Chandler asked.
Dave nodded, "Burt, he's capable. He can do it."
Burt looked at Chandler. "It's a challenge, Burt, but give me a week. I love challenges, and I will give you the best cupcake in Naples."
Burt hugged Chandler after he spoke. Kurt rolled his eyes while Dave smiled. Burt looked around, "Let's go to work!"
At the Warblers Bakery, Blaine stood outside next to the wall between the two bakeries. He was checking the lemons and making notes of which ones needed time. Santana came out of the bakery, and smiled at him. "Blaine, I think you should see this."
Santana held out the envelope from Kurt. She had taken out what was in there, which was a sketch of Blaine's face. She smiled at him, "He must think you're handsome if he's willing to sketch your face, Blainey."
"I miss him, Tana." He looked sad. She clucked her tongue and held out her arms. He wrapped his around her waist as she spoke, "You know, Blainey. I've watched you check those lemons, smelling them and checking the color. Yet you're never happy. It seems to me you've been looking for your perfect lemon. Yet all along, your perfect lemon has been growing right next bakery."
She smiled at him. He looked at her, and the biggest smile came over his face. "Tana, I'm going to say something I am sure you are not used to hearing, You're a genius."
She smiled at him, "Yeah, I know. Sad you're the only one who acknowledges that."
Narrator nods in agreement. Author smirks, she really has to agree. Author mutters to herself.
Santana pushed Blaine to the ladder. Blaine turned around to go to the kitchen. Santana stopped him, "What?"
"I got something in the oven, Tana."
"You go. I'll take care of the oven."
Blaine climbed up the ladder.
