The vision quest
Magic School
The Charmed Ones, Leo and Sigmund were walking into a large corridor. "O-kay," Phoebe said, turning to Sigmund. "So, tell us more about the monster who tried to kill you."
"The Dark Smoke," Sigmund said. "He was an assassin who lived in London in the 18th century. He made a pact with a demon and became a demon himself. He ended locked in an mirror by powerful a witch."
"What a creepy story," Piper commented.
"Yes, I know... The mirror used to stay here, in the Magic School. But it was broken..." Sigmund explained.
"Well, it happens," Paige said.
Sigmund shook his head. "No... Someone used magic to break the mirror and free The Dark Smoke," he said, pointing to a door. "Here, Gideon's office."
Phoebe looked at the door and shivered. She didn't have a premonition, but she sensed something – something evil.
Sigmund opened the door, revealing a small desk and three shelves filled with books. "Gideon," he said. "The Charmed Ones were here."
"Good," Gideon walked to them. "I'm glad you're here. Although I do wish it was under better circumstances. You probably don't remember me. You were just little girls," he said, then turned to Paige. "And you... the lost sister."
Leo coughed. "Sigmund told us that The Dark Smoke is free..."
Gideon nodded. "Straight to the point. One of your best qualities, my friend. I think one of the students freed him and now he or she is the only one who can summon him..."
"So," Piper started to say. "We need to find who freed this Dark Smoke and lock him in a mirror again."
Gideon nodded. "We need to know who did this. No student possess that level of magic... at least, they're not supposed to. I think a demon has somehow corrupted one of them into doing this..."
"So, we need to find this student?" Paige asked.
"And trap The Dark Smoke in the mirror again," he explained. "Feel free to walk in the school and talk to the teachers," he said, vanishing.
"Good luck," Leo said and orbed out.
"Leo!" Piper shook her head. "What are we gonna do now?"
Phoebe sighed. "Now, we'll looking for this stupid student... This is ridiculous! A school of magic and they never told us about it..."
"Yeah... And they only told us about this place now, because they need our help," Piper remarked.
"C'mon, people..." Paige said. "Let's do the job and come back home. I don't care if they didn't tell us about this place before. Sometimes I feel like magic owns our lives... Looking at this place, I realize that I want more. I want to be happy and find love..."
Phoebe shook her head. "Don't worry, Paige. You'll find love... Even if you need to stab me in the back to get it."
"What? What are you talking about?" Paige asked in confusion. Phoebe was acting weird around her and she didn't know why. "Phoebe, what's happening?"
"Nothing, let's do the job," she said sharply, leaving the room.
"Can you tell me what's wrong with her?" Paige asked to Piper.
Piper shrugged. "I don't know... Phoebe seemed depressed these days..."
Halliwell Manor
Cole shimmered in and found Chris playing with Wyatt in the living room. "Are you babysitting? Where's Piper?" he asked.
"In the Magic School," Chris replied. "What are you doing here?"
"I want to talk to Phoebe," Cole said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"She's in the Magic School too," Chris said.
Cole sighed. "I'll wait for her..." he said, sitting on the couch.
Chris nodded. "Make yourself home..."
Magic School
A large room
Paige walked in and saw a woman sitting in the middle of a large white room. She was meditating. "I'm sorry," the young Charmed One said, entering the room.
"I was waiting for you," the woman said, opening her eyes.
"Really?" Paige raised an eyebrow. "So... do you know why I'm here?"
The woman nodded. "One of the students freed the Dark Smoke," she said. "Gideon needs to know who's responsible for that."
"Do you know who the student is?" she asked.
The woman shook her head. "No..."
"So why you said that you were waiting for me?" Paige asked frowning.
"Because I saw it..." she quietly said, dipping a cup into a pot and stood up. "You're questioning your magic... Your life as witch."
"How... How do you know that?" Paige asked.
"I am like your sister... I can see the future," she said. "Here, drink this, take the vision quest and you'll find the answers you're looking for," she said, giving the cup to Paige.
"I'm not drinking that, lady," Paige said, shaking her head.
"No?" the woman said smiling.
"How can I trust you? And if you're trying to poison me?"
"I'm not trying to poison you... But it's your choice to drink it or not," the woman said calmly.
Paige sighed, then drank the cup. She instantly had a vision.
She was in the manor's conservatory.
"Wyatt, let your cousin play with the game too, please," Piper said.
"Cousin?" Paige muttered.
"Hey, Piper, can you take Paige to the doctor?" she saw Phoebe asking. "I have to finish my article today. Oh my, Elise is gonna kill me!"
"The doctor?" Paige asked.
"Yeah, we need to make sure our little nieces are doing okay," Piper said softly.
Paige looked down and saw she was pregnant.
"Aunt Paige, we need your help," one of the boys said.
"Yeah, Chris' right, aunt Paige, help us..." the other boy said.
"Chris..." she muttered, looking at the little boy. He was Wyatt's cousin and called her 'aunt'. So, he was Phoebe's son. He seemed familiar...
She looked down again... She would have twins, two little girls...
The vision ended and Paige had tears in her eyes.
"What'd you see?" the woman asked.
"I saw children. Piper's son and Chris... Phoebe's son. And I was pregnant... Twins," Paige replied, rubbing her belly. "Was it real?"
The woman nodded. " Don't deny your powers, accept your destiny. Embrace your path and it will lead you there..."
"Thank you," Paige said.
"Now, you should go. Use your powers to fight evil, it's your destiny," the woman said.
Paige nodded and left the room. She was walking into the corridor again, when she saw Piper, Phoebe and a teenager. They were sweating. "Who's he?" she asked.
"Phoebe found out the student who freed The Dark Smoke... And here he was," Piper explained, looking at the young student with disapproval.
The student flushed with embarrassment. He wasn't under evil influence at all, he was just testing his powers.
"So, we need to summon and lock The Dark Smoke in the mirror..." Paige said.
"We already did it," Phoebe said harshly. "What were you doing by the way?"
"I... I was talking with someone... I'll explain everything later..." Paige said softly.
Phoebe shook her head. "Let's go... We need to take him to Gideon," she said. "I want to go back home."
Halliwell Manor
Living room
Cole was looking at Chris, who was playing with Wyatt, when the Charmed Ones orbed in.
"Cole..." Phoebe muttered, as she saw him in the living room.
He took in a deep breath. "We need to talk... about us."
Piper walked to Chris and took Wyatt in her arms. "C'mon, young man... The adults need to talk," she said softly, kissing Wyatt's head.
"No," Phoebe said and suddenly everyone looked at her. "I have nothing to talk to you, Cole... I don't want to see you anymore."
Cole looked at her stunned. "Phoebe, what..."
Phoebe closed her eyes and breathed. She felt what he was feeling. He still loved her...
But she saw the future...
We're not meant to be...
Paige and Cole... Cole and Paige.
Chris...
"I don't love you, Cole. I was confused... That's all," she said. "Please, leave... We have nothing to talk about."
Cole looked at her and nodded. "Fine... Don't worry, I won't disturb you anymore..." he said and shimmered out.
"Phoebe, what... Why," Paige looked at her in confusion.
"Leave me alone," Phoebe shouted and ran upstairs.
"What the hell was that?" Paige frowned. "Well, I don't like Cole at all, but I thought she wanted him back. She loves him..."
"I'll talk to her," Piper said. "Chris, can you help me with Wyatt?"
Chris cleared his throat and nodded. "Of course," he said, his voice almost cracking. He wasn't understanding his mother's behavior and it was scaring him.
"Thank you," Piper said and walked to Phoebe's room.
Paige looked at him and cleared her throat. Chris... The little boy she saw... Could it even be possible? "Chris..."
"What?" he looked at her.
"I need to ask you a question... But you need to be honest with me. I want the truth," she said with a sigh.
He nodded. "Okay."
"Are you Phoebe's son?" she asked, letting out a large, deep, breath.
"Only if I can get her and Cole back together in time," he answered and Paige's eyes grew wide.
"Cole?" she asked in awe.
