I don't own twilight, Stephanie Meyer does

The week had overall been a pretty good one. Yesterday Bella agreed to come look at vehicles with me. She said she'd look but she wasn't totally sold on me buying her something. She wants to look at things in her price range and I'm going to humor her and look at some but we agreed that if I look at those vehicles she has to look at crossovers with me. I'm going to drive us to a car dealership in Port Angeles after school.
I was walking to my only class without Bella: gym. I was almost there when I realized that I had left my gym bag in my locker instead of the locker-room this morning. I turned around and quickly made my way back to my locker.
Right before I rounded the corner in the almost deserted hallway I heard an angry voice.
"He's mine and if you get in my way of getting him, I'll make your life a living hell," I heard Tanya Denali sneer.
I rounded the corner just in time to see Tanya shove Bella forcefully into the lockers as Lauren and Jessica watched. Bella tumbled to the ground and then Tanya kicked her in the side of her torso.
"Bella!" I yelled as I ran to her. She looked in my direction from her spot on the floor.
"Oh, Edward, she's so clumsy. She tripped over her own feet!" Tanya said in a sickly sweet voice when I reached them.
"Bella are you all right?" I asked her. I know it was a stupid question; she's obviously not alright. I wiped at her tears but it was no use as they were continuously flowing. Bella just shrugged her shoulders in response to my question.
"Is there anything we can do, Edward?" Tanya had the nerve to ask.
"Yeah, you can get the hell out of here," I said angrily. Just then a teacher came down the hallway.
"Hey, you kids should be in class," Mr. Mason said. Then he noticed Bella laying on the ground. "What's going on here?"
"Bella tripped and fell," Tanya explained with a fake look of concern plastered on her face.
"Tanya pushed her into the lockers and then kicked her very hard on her side," I explained.
"Is this true Miss Denali?" Mr. Mason asked.
"Of course not!" Tanya exclaimed.
"Right…" Mr. Mason trailed off. He knocked on the door to the science room that was next to us and asked for Mr. Banner. When the door was closed behind him he exchanged a few hushed words with Mr. Banner.
"I need you three to come with me to the office," Mr. Mason said, indicating to Tanya, Lauren, and Jessica.
"But Mr. Mason, we're just trying to help," Lauren wined.
"Then you shouldn't have a problem coming with me," he snapped.
Tanya and her minions followed behind him. Tanya looked confident, Lauren looked indifferent, and Jessica looked scared.
"Where does it hurt?" I asked Bella.
"Must side hurts and my back's a little sore but other than that I'm fine," Bella hiccupped as she spoke.
"Let's get her off the floor. She'll be more comfortable in the nurse's office," Mr. Banner looked down at Bella with concern.
"I think I should take her to the ER. Um… did Mr. Greene tell you about our, ah, situation?" I asked hesitantly.
"He did and I know she'll probably need to be checked out but it wouldn't hurt to get Mrs. Huntington's opinion first," he said without judgment.
I was about to argue because I want Dad to tell me she's fine now not later but Bella stopped me from doing so.
"Edward, let's go to the office and then you can call the doctor before we take an unnecessary trip to the Emergency Room," she said as calmly as she could with the tears still running down her face.
I was about to argue again because an ER visit would not be unnecessary but once again she stopped me.
"Please, Edward," she said in small voice that broke my resolve.
"Okay," I whispered. I gently lifted her off the floor, despite her protests, and made my way to the office. When we entered the office Lauren and Jessica were sitting in the main entrance, most likely awaiting their turn to be interrogated.
"I'll make sure her father is being called," Mr. Banner said.
"No! You don't need to call Charlie," Bella protested.
"He has to be called in, Bella. What Tanya did is assault and the cops have to be involved."
"I just don't want him to worry," Bella mumbled.
"Trust me, as a parent he'd be more hurt if he wasn't called," Mr. Banner said kindly.
I walked into the nurse's office and laid her down on the cot.
"Did you fall again, Dear?" Mrs. Huntington asked. Bella had been in here many times in the last year because of her lack of coordination.
"Not this time," I answered for her. "She was shoved into the lockers and then kicked in the side."
"Oh my!" she exclaimed. "Can you lift up your shirt for me, Bella?"
Bella lifted up the hem of her shirt and what I saw made me see red. There was a big angry red mark across her left side. That is sure to be one nasty bruise. Mrs. Huntington gingerly poked and prodded at Bella's side and Bella flinched. With one hand I grabbed one of hers and with the other I took out my phone and called Dr. Kaure.
"I don't think anything is broken but because you're pregnant I would like you to get the opinion of a doctor. Does it hurt anywhere else? Any abdominal or back pains?" Mrs. Huntington asked kindly.
Bella just shook her head. Didn't she tell me her back is sore? I glad she doesn't have any pain in her stomach. I hope that means the baby is okay.
"What about your back?" I asked. I couldn't interrogate her anymore because just then the receptionist answered the phone. I asked to speak to Dr. Kaure and then explained our situation to her.
"My back is a little sore but it's not bad," Bella sheepishly told Mrs. Huntington. She had Bella sit up and she lifted her shirt back up. There were red marks on her back too were she hit the locker handles. Thankfully these aren't as red.
"Once again, nothing seems to be broken but you should go see your doctor," Mrs. Huntington had a worried look on her face. This made me worry even more.
"They can fit you in at four, Bella. Maybe sooner," I told her. I didn't like thinking she had to wait that long but I know waiting in the ER would take longer.
"Alright," she whispered. She seemed to be barely holding it together. I helped her off the cot as she refused to be carried. I thanked Mrs. Huntington even though she didn't tell us anything I wouldn't have been able to figure out.
Bella held her tears in until we got out to the car. I silently helped her in and then held her as close as I could when I got in on my side.
"You're alright. Everything's going to be okay," I whispered into her ear.
"I know I'm alright but what about the baby?!" Bella cried.
I didn't know what to tell her. I couldn't lie to her and tell her that I know the baby's fine because I don't know that. "I don't know, Sweetheart. I think that as long as you don't have any pain in your stomach we should take that as good sign. I believe that everything's going to be alright. Let's just think positive and hope for the best. I love you, Bella, no matter what."
"I love you too," she whispered. She seemed to be thinking about what I told her and was calming down a bit. I let go of her and pulled out of the parking space before taking her hand.
Except for a few sniffles every once in a while from Bella, we were silent the entire way to the hospital. Every time this happened I would squeeze her hand in silent support. I noticed that she limped a little bit as we made our way into the hospital. Bella put up a little fight but I managed to convince her to use a wheelchair. I pushed her to the end of the row chairs away checking her in and we waited silently for her name to be called. It was only ten after three so we probably have a long wait ahead of us.
