There have not been many romantic moments among the Chipmunk/Chipette couples ever since Chapters 10, 12, 14, and 15, so I decided I would include some more chipmunk affection in this chapter. After all, the story is going to be over very soon, and I want to give each of the couples their final moments in the spotlight during this chapter. As always, I hope you like it! Cormac, out!

(One last, quick note: As a disclaimer, the song "Cheerleader" is owned by Omi. Also note that not all the lyrics of the song are used, so that the chapter does not become excessively long.)

Chapter 25 - Miss Miller's House

Half an hour later, Miss Miller and Dave were both driving through an exquisite and tidy neighborhood. The houses were painted nice shades of blue, yellow, and orange. There were gardens on the front lawns, and the porches were shaded with shrubs and small trees.

They drove through the neighborhood for about five minutes, and then Miss Miller turned into the driveway of a small, quaint house that was painted a light shade of crimson. The windows were bordered by purple shutters, and there were flower gardens growing along the front side of the house. On either side of the purple door stood two large, green bushes.

As Dave noticed Miss Miller turn into the driveway, he realized that this must be her house, so he turned in behind her and parked his car.

Miss Miller and Dave stepped out of their parked cars simultaneously and opened the doors to allow their chipmunk children out.

"Welcome to my home," Miss Miller said to the Chipettes, the Chipmunks, and Dave.

"Thank you," Dave replied, as he and the six chipmunks followed Miss Miller up to the door.

Miss Miller took out a key and inserted it into the lock of the doorknob. She turned the key and opened the door, allowing her guests and her newly adopted daughters inside the house.

It was very warm and comfortable inside. Within the front hall were framed paintings, intricate carpets on the floor, and antique tables with drawers along the walls.

"This is it, girls," Miss Miller said to the Chipettes. "Your new home."

Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor looked around them with delight at what they saw inside the house. This, they thought, would be a cozy and tidy place to live. They were very glad to see their new home and were pleased at the prospect of living here. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore were glad to see how pleased the Chipettes were. So was Dave.

"Can we go explore the house?" Eleanor asked.

"Yes, can we, please?" Brittany followed up. "I'm really curious to see what the other rooms are like, especially our rooms."

"Of course," Miss Miller answered. "But let's celebrate this adoption first!"

"Yippee!" Theodore said gleefully.

Alvin chuckled. "Whenever Theodore senses a statement related to food," he said, "he gets excited in less than half a second."

"Well, I'm happy to celebrate, too," Simon added. "After all, we never got to celebrate our adoption."

"Really?" Miss Miller asked, surprised. "Well then, this can be your adoption party, too."

Then, Miss Miller called out, "Evelyn? Are you there?"

"Yes, I'm right here in the kitchen," a lady's voice responded. Dave, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes heard footsteps approaching as the lady whom Miss Miller was calling approached.

A young, blonde woman who looked as though she was in her early twenties entered the front hall. She was wearing a pink and green Tie-Dye shirt, blue jeans, and an apron. Miss Miller introduced her.

"Dave, girls, Chipmunks, this is Evelyn," Miss Miller stated as she gestured toward the lady. "She recently graduated college and is using every opportunity possible to earn money for her apartment. So, she comes over to my house every two weeks to cook and clean for me, and in return, I pay her sixty dollars. Evelyn," she continued, now gesturing toward the Chipettes, "these are my daughters, the Chipettes. I just adopted them today."

The lady named Evelyn smiled. "Hello, girls," she greeted them. "As Miss Miller just said, yes, I am Evelyn. And who are these?" Evelyn motioned toward Dave and the Chipmunks.

"Well, these are the Chipettes' boyfriends, Alvin and the Chipmunks," Miss Miller explained. "They are here with their adoptive father and manager, Dave."

"Nice to meet you, Evelyn," Dave said as he stepped forward to shake Evelyn's hand. The Chipmunks and the Chipettes also came up to greet her.

"Anyway, we are here to celebrate my daughters' adoption," Miss Miller told Evelyn. "You have all the food ready, I trust?"

"Yes, it's all on the table," Evelyn replied.

"Very good. Thank you," Miss Miller said as she led Dave, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes toward the kitchen.

"No problem," Evelyn answered. "If you need anything, I'll be upstairs dusting the bookshelves."

"Very well, then. I'll pay you extra today," Miss Miller offered.

"That would be great, thanks," Evelyn agreed as she walked upstairs, a feather duster in hand.

Miss Miller, Dave, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes all entered the kitchen and came into the dining room. There on the table was a platter of small Italian sandwiches, a box of sprinkled doughnuts, a bowl of apple slices, grapes, and pineapple chunks, a jar of cookies, and a pitcher of Hawaiian punch.

"Mine and Evelyn's treat," Miss Miller announced as everyone sat down at the table.

"It was very considerate of you to invite all of us over to celebrate the Chipettes' adoption, Miss Miller," Dave acknowledged.

"Yeah, thank you," Alvin agreed.

"Oh, it's my pleasure," Miss Miller replied. "I knew you would like this."

"You have a very nice house," Theodore complimented.

"Thanks, dearie," said Miss Miller. "I inherited this house from my mother. She loved exquisite real estate and fine living. There are some days when I think about her and miss her terribly, but I'm comforted knowing that wherever she is now, she would be happy knowing that I have a new family to live with me in the house that she so willingly left to me."

"It's always comforting to know that your loved ones are not gone forever, that you will always meet again sometime," said Jeanette.

Miss Miller smiled warmly at the bespectacled Chipette. "You are a very supportive daughter and I am glad to have adopted you, as well as your two sisters," she said. "I foresee years of wonderful family togetherness."

Dave, Miss Miller, the Chipmunks, and the Chipettes all sat around the table for a while longer, engaging in conversation and enjoying the refreshments.

Eventually, Brittany raised up her paw. "Excuse me, Miss Miller, or Mom, I should say?" she spoke up.

"Yes, Brittany?" Miss Miller replied.

"Is it all right if Jeanette and Eleanor and I go upstairs to see our rooms?" Brittany asked.

"Oh, of course you may," Miss Miller permitted. "I would love for you to become familiar with the house."

"Can we take Alvin, Simon, and Theodore with us?" Jeanette asked.

"Sure, sure," Miss Miller responded. "Take whoever you like."

Brittany took Alvin's paw, Jeanette took Simon's paw, and Eleanor took Theodore's paw as they all left the table to go and see the Chipettes' rooms. Dave and Miss Miller stayed at the table to continue their conversation.

As the six chipmunks headed upstairs, Evelyn was coming back down. "Enjoying yourselves?" the college graduate asked.

The Chipmunks and the Chipettes all nodded. "Thank you for preparing the food for us," said Eleanor.

"Oh, you're welcome," Evelyn replied. "Anyway, I'd better be downstairs if I'm going to clean the living room."

Evelyn walked past the Chipmunks and the Chipettes as she headed downstairs, and they themselves continued on upstairs.

When the six chipmunks came to the top of the stairs, they entered a hallway with four doors along the walls. There was a pink door with a white letter "B" painted on it, a purple door with a silver letter "J" painted on it, and a green door with a yellow letter "E" painted on it. The remaining door was, presumably, Miss Miller's own room.

"Wow! She customized each of your bedrooms!" Alvin pointed out.

"Come with me, Alvin, I want you to be there to see my new room!" Brittany said with determination as she firmly grasped her boyfriend's paw and dashed into her room.

"Yeah, I want you to see my room, too, Theo," Eleanor said as she led Theodore into her room.

"Follow me, Simon," Jeanette said as she wrapped her arm around her boyfriend's shoulders and brought him into her room.

Now, every one of the chipmunk couples were in each corresponding room, spending pleasant moments together.

(A/N: And here is where the final scenes of chipmunk romance come into play. I'll start with Alvin & Brittany, then I'll do Simon & Jeanette, and lastly Theodore & Eleanor.)

Alvin and Brittany stood in the center of the latter's room, looking around. The walls were painted a light shade of pink, and at the far wall next to the window stood a neatly made bed with magenta blankets.

There was a closet door in the left wall, and along the right wall stood a dresser on top of which was a record player, a stack of magazines, and a box of CDs. There was also a makeup table where Brittany could "pretty herself up." There was even a disco ball hanging from the ceiling.

"This is perfect!" Brittany said as she admired her room. "Miss Miller thought of everything! Look at all of this, Alvin!"

"Dave must have let Miss Miller know what the three of you girls were interested in before you were adopted so that your rooms would meet your interests," Alvin speculated.

"Yeah, I'm guessing that must have happened, too," Brittany agreed. "Anyway, look at all this space on the walls! This will be the perfect place for me to hang up my rock star posters! I can listen to pop music whenever I want to with this CD player!"

"Why don't we play some music now?" Alvin suggested. "I haven't gotten to dance with you since the end of our national tour."

Brittany and Alvin climbed up onto the dresser and searched through the CDs until they found one that they liked. They placed it inside the machine and flicked through the songs until they agreed on one. Then they clicked on the "play" button and let the music roll.

When I need motivation

My one solution is my queen

'Cause she stay strong, yeah, yeah

She is always in the corner

Right there when I want her

All these other girls are tempting

But I'm empty when you're gone

As the song continued to play, Alvin and Brittany scampered back down to the floor, took each other's paws, and began to dance, never looking away from each other's eyes as the chorus of the lyrics began.

Ooh, I think I found myself a cheerleader

She is always right there when I need her

Ooh, I think I found myself a cheerleader

She is always right there when I need her

She walks like a model

She grants my wishes like a genie in a bottle, yeah, yeah

'Cause I'm the wizard of love and I got the magic wand

And all these other girls are tempting

But I'm empty when you're gone

And they say, "Do you need me?

Do you think I'm pretty?

Do I make you feel like cheating?"

And I'm like, "No, not really,"

As the chorus played again, Alvin and Brittany began to sing along with the lyrics as they danced paw in paw with each other. They sang along until the end of the song.

And after the song ended, Alvin reached up and gently stroked Brittany's face. "You are my cheerleader, Brittany," he told her. "You were always there for me when I needed you, and I know you always will be. Whenever I feel down or depressed, you are the one who I can count on to cheer me up again. I'm lucky and very happy to have you, Brittany...and I love you."

Brittany felt herself become warm inside at Alvin's words. She hugged him tightly and said, "I know you love me, because I love you, too."

And they kissed each other on the lips. The feeling of Brittany's lips against Alvin's was remarkably and incredibly soft. This third kiss of theirs was, so far, the best one they had ever shared.

(A/N: Now who's up for some Simon & Jeanette?)

Jeanette was exploring her new room with Simon. The room was just perfect for her. The walls were painted purple, her bed sheets were lavender, and her closet door was a deep shade of violet.

"Miss Miller sure knows what we like," Jeanette observed. "Look at these bookshelves and this desk!"

Simon looked at the bookshelves next to the purple walls, which were filled with classic novels, encyclopedias, and other books. Then, he looked at the desk. The desk was an antique table with drawers that were filled with papers and sketchbooks and pencils and pens. On top of the desk was a vase filled with blue and purple flowers.

"I must tell you, Jeanette, I'm glad that we met Miss Miller. She seems like a very kind person and you're lucky that she took you and your sisters in," said Simon.

"I'm glad, too," Jeanette replied. "Ever since I first came to Los Angeles with Brittany and Eleanor, I've been hoping for the day that I would finally have an official guardian, and now all my hopes have come true. This is better than I ever could have hoped for."

"Oh, speaking of adoption, Jeanette," Simon told her, "I have something for you."

Jeanette looked at him. "You do?" she asked.

"Yes. It's a gift that I wanted to give you for your adoption day," Simon answered as he reached into the pocket of his blue hoodie. He pulled out an object that was wrapped in lavender tissue paper and handed it to Jeanette.

Jeanette eagerly took the little package from Simon's paws and slowly but excitedly pulled the tissue paper off. She gasped with delight at what she saw.

It was a small gold bracelet, just like the one she had worn as a tiara that Simon's alter ego had given to her back on the island a while ago. This bracelet had a tiny, shining diamond in the center and was designed very intricately.

"I recall how we were on the raft after escaping, and you said that my other personality, Simone, had given you a bracelet like this," Simon explained. "This time, however, I wanted to give you a bracelet as my own self, and not my alter ego."

"Simon, I love this. This is beautiful. Would you please put it on my head for me?" Jeanette asked.

"Of course," Simon replied as he took the little tiara from Jeanette's paws and gently placed it on her head.

"I wanted to give this to you to remind you that even the most perfect gem cannot compare to your beauty; both your outward beauty and your inward beauty," Simon told Jeanette. "Wherever you go, wherever you wear it, I want you to know that I think of you as my beautiful, shining gem. Yes, Jeanette; that is how special you are to me. You are the gem of my life that stands out over all other gems. You shine in my memories, my thoughts, and my mind. In fact, even the most perfect diamond cannot compare to your beauty. There is no way to put to words how much I care for you and love you. There's no one like you, Jeanette; I can't think of a single quality in you that does not give me delight."

Jeanette could no longer hold in her emotions of joy and love. Happy tears began to run down her face as she embraced Simon tightly and warmly. Simon smiled as he wrapped his own arms around her. Simon and Jeanette stood there in each other's warm, sweet, passionate embrace, refusing to let each other go.

"Oh, Simon," she whispered, "you are the best. I'm so grateful that I know you, and it feels so wonderful to know how much you truly love me. I love you the same way, Simon, and I'll never love anyone else. You are the only one there is for me in this world."

Simon and Jeanette closed their eyes and paid attention to nothing around them except for this moment of love. Everything around them seemed to fade away as they fervently embraced each other.

"Jeanette," said Simon, "back in Atlanta, when we shared our first moment of true love, I promised you we would find another opportunity to do so. Now is the time."

And Simon kissed her around the lips. Jeanette joyfully and eagerly returned the kiss. Their lips remained together for about twenty seconds as they stood in the center of the room, holding each other close.

When they released each other from the embrace and the kiss, Simon and Jeanette felt nothing but extraordinary, wondrous happiness and love. With these beautiful feelings in their hearts, they seated themselves down in the sunlight coming in from the window and began reading a novel together.

(A/N: Now let's finish up this chapter with some Theodore & Eleanor!)

Theodore and Eleanor were intrigued as they explored the Chipette's room. Of course, the walls were painted green, and the blankets on the bed were green.

On top of the dresser was a fish tank filled with water. Small fish were swimming around inside, and there were colorful pebbles on the bottom. There was a round, wooden table on which there was a stack of paper, as well as boxes of crayons, colored pencils, and pens. There was also an empty bulletin board on the wall, right above the dresser.

"Miss Miller must know that you've got talent with art, Ellie," Theodore told Eleanor.

"This is so cool!" Eleanor was saying. "Look, I can work on as many arts and crafts projects as I like with these supplies. Do you want to draw pictures with me, Theo?"

"Sure," Theodore replied as he climbed up onto the table with Eleanor.

Eleanor handed Theodore a sheet of paper and a box of colored pencils. Then she took her own paper and her own pencils and got to work.

Theodore and Eleanor spent the next seven to eight minutes drawing their pictures, trying to keep what they were drawing secret from the other so that it would be a surprise when they showed each other their completed illustrations.

The two chipmunks worked very hard and very carefully on their drawings, making sure every detail was as perfect as they could illustrate. The room around them gained a calm and cozy atmosphere as Theodore and Eleanor worked on their pictures.

When they were finished, they sat up and looked at each other. "Do you want to see my drawing?" Theodore asked Eleanor.

"Certainly! And do you want to see mine?" said Eleanor.

"Sure," Theodore answered.

At the same time, Theodore and Eleanor picked up their drawings, showed them to one another, and their eyes widened with delight at what they were seeing.

Theodore and Eleanor had drawn pictures of each other. Theodore had illustrated Eleanor, standing in a meadow with a dandelion in her paw. In Theodore's drawing, Eleanor was wearing her shirt with the green and white stripes and her emerald-colored skirt.

And Eleanor had illustrated Theodore playing his little green guitar. She remembered the evening she had spent with him back at Myrtle Beach and wanted to somehow immerse herself in that moment again through her drawing. In her drawing, Theodore was wearing a handsome green shirt.

"Your drawing is perfect, Ellie," Theodore complimented as he looked at Eleanor's picture of him.

"Thank you so much. I like yours better, though, Theo," Eleanor responded as she looked at Theodore's picture of her.

"Let's put these up on your bulletin board, so that you'll see them all the time in here," Theodore recommended.

"Great idea," Eleanor agreed, as she and Theodore hopped down from the table and climbed up the dresser to attach their drawings to the bulletin board.

Theodore and Eleanor's pictures were the first items to go up on the bulletin board.

After they had tacked their drawings in place, so that the pictures were directly adjacent to each other, the two chipmunks climbed down from the dresser and stood back at a distance to look up at the new pictures on the bulletin board.

Their drawings of each other looked absolutely perfect together, and Eleanor would always admire them whenever she was in her room.

"I love those pictures," Theodore said. "But not as much as I love the real you, Ellie."

"Oh, Theodore!" Eleanor said joyfully as she hugged him tightly. "I love you, too."

"Thank you, beautiful soul," Theodore replied as he returned the embrace and kissed the side of Eleanor's face.

Then Eleanor placed her paws on either side of Theodore's head, bringing his face nearer to hers, and kissed him around the mouth. Theodore became even happier as he returned the kiss.

After they released each other from their embrace and kiss, Theodore and Eleanor just stood there silently for a few minutes, gazing into each other's green eyes. Finally, Theodore spoke.

"So...what do you want to do now, Ellie?" Theodore asked.

"I just want to be here with you, Theo," Eleanor answered. "I love you, and I want you to feel special by allowing you to spend time with me."

"Thanks to you, I've got some very special memories in my mind," Theodore told her as they hugged each other again.

"Let's draw some more pictures," Eleanor said after they had finished the hug. "I have a box of M&Ms in here, if you want refreshments."

Theodore and Eleanor remained on the drawing table for the rest of the afternoon, happily illustrating pictures and eating M&Ms. Each moment was indeed very special for both of them.

(A/N: I wanted to give the Chipmunk/Chipette romance a strong conclusion, instead of leaving you all hanging. Anyway, stay tuned for the twenty-sixth chapter, the last chapter before the epilogue.)
