Broken Velvet 25
Halfway down the hall Kisara stopped dead in her tracks.
"I killed your uncle," she whispered. Kaiba only shrugged and took her hand. The look on her face was saddening, she looked so torn.
"It's a good thing Kisara, let's go, I don't like smelling like blood," he remarked. Solemnly she dragged her feet to their bedroom. Eagerly Seto emptied his pockets and undressed for a shower, not caring that he had been blatantly displaying his scars since they left the office. Nervously biting her lip and wringing her hands she watched him disappear into the bathroom. Following curiously, she hovered in the doorway while he turned the knobs and waited for the water to warm up.
"Can I join you?" she asked timidly. He was astounded, no one had ever asked to share a shower with him, he had thought about it many times but so far had never acted on it. Turning to face her he nodded.
"Sure." Kisara gave a soft smile and pulled off her jacket and blouse while he stepped into the steaming shower. Desperately, he scrubbed the blood from his hair and the droplets that still remained on his skin. Kaiba watched the water turn pink and swirl down the drain with a sigh. That was when she joined him, both of them stood underneath the hot water in the tiled stand in shower. Slightly cramped Seto pulled her towards him, pressing her back against his chest. She was considerably shorter, only as tall as his shoulders, towering over her gave him a good view of her chest. Grabbing her shampoo she lathered it through her hair and turned to her partner, and reached up massaging his scalp with her fingers. After washing it out she grabbed her bottle of body wash and squirt it onto her loofah. Before she could wash Kaiba, he grabbed her wrist.
"No, I prefer not to smell like a woman," he remarked, taking the soapy loofah from her hands and rubbing it over her naked arms. Tenderly, he washed her, while she did the same after putting his bodywash onto a wash cloth. Silent among the pelting water Kisara leaned up and kissed him, her chest pressed against his, suds swirling on their skin. Turning to wash Seto's back she gazed at his scars for the first time, she really saw them. There were four of them, all of them vertical, the two on the left of his spine crossed at the bottom, the one of the right crooked towards his spine. The other two scars were staggered, running parallel to each other. Gingerly, she ran her fingers down one of them. Feeling invaded he spun around and prepared to reprimand her, but the look on her face stopped him, it was a look he hadn't seen before, one he didn't understand. She grabbed onto his forearm, her fingers wrapping around the tattoo of Blue Eyes.
"Your scars are beautiful," she stated reverently. Those four words shattered his walls and penetrated his soul. Rendered speechless, he cupped Kisara's wet cheeks in his hands and tried to regain his bearings. He was still caught in disbelief over her words, her genuine sincerity, and everything. With coaching from Seth, he finally settled on his words.
"You're beautiful." Then he leaned down and kissed her. The water cleansed the soap from their skin while they embraced, their intimate moments becoming more frequent and intense. Now, Seto knew that she belonged to him, she was meant for him and only him and would be his only truly intimate lover. He cut the water and stepped out, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around Kisara, gently patting her dry, while he dripped water all over the floor. Unable to explain his caring behavior, he wondered why it felt so natural to him. Finally, Seto grabbed his royal blue robe and slid his arms into the sleeves, his hands tying the belt around his hipbones. He slid up the hood and used it to absorb the extra water in his hair. Flustered he wandered to the counter and brushed his teeth. Kaiba couldn't help but stare when she unwrapped her towel and began to dry her long hair with it. He hadn't seen her naked in such a bright light before, and the same went for her. He couldn't grasp why he stopped caring about what his body looked like in front of her, why he no longer felt ashamed of what marred his skin. Redirecting his gaze to the mirror he asked Seth what the hell he was feeling. Seth laughed at him inside his head. "Those are feelings of love, attachment, attraction and care," he revealed. Spitting toothpaste into the sink his eyes went wide with shock. This is what love feels like? He wondered. His heart fluttered with realization, and with shaky hands he rinsed his mouth and looked over to his companion, who was pulling a silk nightgown over her head. Overwhelmed with the gravity of his feelings he stepped out of the bathroom and the bedroom, padding down the hall in bare feet to his office. I can't be in love, how can I be capable of this? I've never had such a connection with someone, how do I know these are genuine feelings and not just the needs of my body overwhelming my brain? He wondered. Seth easily retorted his denial. She was made for you, reincarnated only for you Seto, don't waste this. Don't pass up a chance to have what I never had Seth warned. Scoffing in defiance he dropped to the loveseat in the office, his eyes fluttering with fatigue. He yawned and adjusted himself, preparing for a small nap, what he didn't know was that his attitude had upset Seth, and his sleep would not be peaceful. He would be faced with the memories of Seth's life without Kisara, and his torturous existence as Pharaoh.
It always began the same, the puzzle shattered on the ground, and he leaned over to pick up all the broken pieces, musing the similarities to the broken pieces of his velvet heart. The box was passed off to Mana, but this time the dream changed. Seizing the millennium scale from his priest he descended the stairs to what used to be the arena. Now, it had become an alchemy circle and the young man had summoned the best necromancers and magicians in the land to help him try to cheat death.
Unable to find a vessel strong enough to house the soul of the white dragon, it was recommended by the necromancers to split the soul, and place the part containing the original vessel's spirit into the body of another magician. Seth had spent weeks selecting the young woman who would serve as the host for his lover. He had unbeknownst to him, chosen Mahado's eldest daughter. Seth watched from the sidelines as they extracted her soul and sealed it in stone. Two more stone tablets were brought in before the white dragon was called forth. A white light engulfed her as she split, her spirit acting as a purple aura around one of the four orbs of light that were the soul of the great beast. Kisara's spirit was directed into the empty shell as the three dragons were archaically sealed once more. Now, only Kisara's Ka could bring them from the resting place. Holding a portion of the soul made her the keeper, the maiden of the White Dragon. Seth would lose his control, and that was a sacrifice he was willing to make.
As the ritual concluded he stepped forward towards the young woman Kisara now lived in. He knelt down, took her hand and prayed to the gods that she would wake up. Her eyes fluttered open and his dream ended, throwing him into another without a moment for recovery. Helplessly, he watched her die once more. The power of the White Dragon was so great that not even the daughter of their greatest magician could handle a portion of it's soul. It literally ate the girl from the inside, her organs bled, causing her to cough up blood and choke.
Nothing could save her, nothing could bring her back. Having failed so many times Seth realized that her good spirit wasn't meant for this earth. Seto watched helplessly in his dream world, comprehending the feelings his counterpart felt. He saw the pain the Pharaoh felt, the heart ache that eventually killed him and Seto didn't want it. He couldn't let her slip away again. Finally, everything fell into place and he understood what he had to do.
A/N: Thank you guys so much for the review and tumblr follows. Much love to you guys. However, to the guest who called my story 'gay' I have a problem with you re purposing words to be derogatory. If you think my story sucks, say so, don't bring down other people with you.
Anyway, Thank you Jademy, for your faithful review and Dev what happened to you? Also shoutout to KisaraBEWD for her ideas and headcannons that helped this chapter not suck too much.
3 review rule still stands- and I ask for three reviews because around 300 people view each chapter and that's 1% of traffic. I shouldn't have to ask for this, people should review what they read, I do because I understand that the author has put a lot of thought and time into their story and since I took the time to read it, I also take the additional two minutes to pump out what I think of it. It is not that hard, I don't see why more people don't do it.
If you don't like the story you can tell me, I won't be offended, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but if you don't like it, tell me what you don't like so I know what you think I'm doing wrong otherwise, it's not constructive. Am I really asking for that much? I spent almost eight hours on this chapter alone, eight hours of my time for a chapter that takes you maybe half an hour to read and two minutes to review. Feedback is what allows me to improve as a writer which is why I ask for it. I'm not insecure, it's not for my ego, it's for IMPROVEMENT. Alright, that's entirely out of my system. Much love, and I'll see all you lovelies at the end of the next chapter.
Five chapters till the end! XOXOX
